This is really frustrating to write. I had Zenith do an install of 3 different systems for me several years ago, before the current owner purchased the company. Almost 2 years ago I called them to come take a look at a potential leak from the install. William acknowledged my request and said someone would help. I followed up 3-4 times and no one ever came out. I've now had an error come up in another system and called him to check it out. Once again he said he would address it and it's been almost a month of my system not working and still nothing. Unfortunately, if you hope to have good service and support, do not work with William and Zenith. I very rarely write bad reviews, but I've given them every opportunity to act responsibly and it's just not happening. Skip this company move on to another. STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT THEM TO DO ANYTHING AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN PAID! We purchased a home that had zenith solar installed the panels on in 2019 I have been trying via phone and email to get someone to come out to inspect, educate and discuss batteries for weeks. The owner picked up one time and said he would call the following week nothing. I will be filing a complaint with the CA license board, BBB and possibly file suit for any expenses I ensure from having another solar company come out. Used Zenith to install solar system at my home and my parents. Little if any of what they claimed about the solar panels and the installation is accurate. They say they will install a system that will pay for itself that is not the case. They say they will manage the install, yet I found myself having to manage it. They never followed up on any of my issues and its been 4 months. You will be passed thru 3 -5 companies from sales, install, finance and warranty, not to mention separate entities for panels vs. batteries and they all pretend not to talk to each other or have any authority over anyone else. Zenith Solar recently performed an Enphase microinverter upgrade on my older 10-panel solar system that was installed by a company that went out of business. They were recommended by Enphase and had the best price of the 3 companies I got quotes from. It took two trips because of electrical panel issues at my house and interference that caused the reporting not to work. While the job ended up costing more than expected, the same issues would have been encountered by anyone doing the work. I am writing this letter as a recommendation for Zenith Solar. But first, allow me to provide some background: My weekly commute round trip to work is 450 miles. I made the decision to buy an electric car based on information from the SDGE website. According to the website, an EV owner can charge the vehicle during low demand hours for 9 cents a kilowatt hour. However, what the website doesn't tell you is that there are loopholes that may exclude you from participating. Much to my disgust, that is what the robber barons at SDGE did to me. Instead of paying 9 cents a kilowatt hour to charge my new car, I am paying a whopping 38 cents a kilowatt hour to charge! At that rate, it is cheaper to drive a gas car! That is among the highest, if not THE highest, electric rates in the country. I was seeing a $500 a month electric bill for a 900 square foot house and we don't use AC. Consequently, we decided to look into solar. We contacted 3 installers, one of the big ones and two smaller companies. We were very impressed by the presentation given by sales rep Ann Ruud and so we awarded the job to Zenith. The entire process was done efficiently and professionally. All aspects of the project from permits through final inspection went without a hitch. The Installation crew worked dawn until dusk (and beyond) to get it finished. The few minor complications that arose were quickly dealt with and resolved. So, my advice to every homeowner is to go solar and to go with Zenith Solar. Do not allow the blood sucking lizards at SDGE to continue their blood sucking ways. read more

We had a very good experience with Zenith Solar, I highly recommend them!! We always thought solar was too expensive/not worth the investment but decided to get a few quotes this year. The owner JP walked us through everything and gave us a really good quote and a free cleaning. He even factored our heated pool into the equation to make sure we'd have enough panels. They are a smaller company, but they were local, cheaper and such good people to work with- JP and Amy really cared a lot about making sure my husband and I were happy with the look of everything. I was surprised at how fast they installed the panels. They took care of everything- permits, inspections, loan, etc, it was so easy. Our electricity bill is now zero! Zenith Solar did an excellent job from start to finish. The proposal phase was very straight-forward and easy to understand. I was able to adjust the number of panels for what I felt was best for my needs. The overall process for installation was super easy. Zenith submitted all the necessary paperwork to the city and followed up with the building inspector. The main installation for 14 panels took only 1 day, and I was up and running within a week. This is an exceptional company--excellent communication, outstanding customer service attitude, and conscientious work in all phases of the solar process. Over several months before I found Zenith, I had researched six companies, got estimates from four, negotiated seriously with three, and signed a contract with one, then cancelled it. All of the others practiced such poor communication, bait-and-switch tactics, and self-serving business attitudes, that if Zenith hadn't worked out, I was going to just give up on going solar. The others would call me picky and hard to please, but I couldn't be happier with Zenith. William, the honest and straightforward sales agent, steered me right. The price quote was excellent. JP adjusted the contract wording and added some clauses to address my concerns. They didn't try to up-sell or change my desired panel placement to make the installation more convenient for them. There were no hidden charges or extra fees at all. The office team was expeditious in getting the plans, permits, and city inspection taken care of, and Nick the installer was a pleasure to work with: polite, friendly, intelligent, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. He did everything possible (with JP's blessing) to be sure I was happy with the job. They all worked overtime and/or after-hours to deliver everything as promised.
