This place is a blessing. Weddings are stressful enough so it's wonderful when you can find a shop that delivers. But this shop does more than just deliver beautiful dresses, it's run by a wonderful person. Miriam is exactly who you need during such a stressful time in your life. She is warm, inviting, and truly wants you to be happy with your wedding dress. She's helped me countless times during the many stressers i put on myself while trying to decide on my gown. I had gone to other bridal shops in VA and just didn't get the best vibe but I was really sold on this shop not only because of the stunning dresses, but because i knew Miriam had my back and would work with me. Her assurance that the dress was going to look stunning and that i was going to feel great was exactly what i needed. You also get some privacy during your appointment as Miriam doesn't have too many people at once during visits which is really helpful. I found other dress shops to be a bit too chaotic which doesn't make it easier. Ramya, who did my alterations, is also wonderful to work with. She is very kind, works with your schedule, and does stunning work. I had a last minute change to my dress (Went from sleeves to straps) and both Miriam and Ramya were so accommodating. I got so many compliments on the stunning work on my dress. The detail is beautiful as was the lace work on it. It was exactly how i hope it would look. I had a horrible experience and very poor customer service at Soliloquy Bridal. I purchased my dress from Soliloquy in May of 2014 for my wedding in May 2015. I worked with Lindsey and when I tried on the dress I ended up buying, I was happy with the overall style of the dress but was concerned about the fit around my hip/waist area. There was a lot of bunching of the fabric and I expressed this concern to Lindsey as I was unsure I wanted to purchase. Lindsey told me that because the dress was in such a large size, the fit was not going to be perfect, but that when I purchased in my size and received alterations that the dress would "fit like a glove" and that that the bunching of the fabric that I was concerned about would not be an issue. The dress was scheduled to arrive in November 2014 but when I called in November to confirm its arrival, their sales consultant told me that they changed their policy over the summer so as not to have dresses waiting in their shop for too long before the wedding date. They said they were supposed to communicate with me that it was going to now be arriving in January but never did. Regardless, now my timeline was shortened. At my first fitting in February, I was very disappointed in the fit of the dress as the bunching of the fabric in the hip/waist area was still an issue. I expressed my concern to the tailor and she explained that the dress could not be fitted too tight to me or else I would not be able to sit. I communicated that when I bought the dress Lindsey told me that the bunching of the fabric would not be an issue. Had I known that it was not possible, I would've never purchased this dress. Miriam asked that I allow them to do alterations and then re-asses when I returned for my second fitting. I came back at the end of February to try on again and had the same issue with bunching. When I communicated that Lindsey assured it would fit in a way that was clearly not possible, Lindsey denied ever saying this and said "as the manager, I would never tell someone that a dress is going to fit in a way that it cannot". She continued to be argumentative, pretended as though she did not see the bunching, and was generally very unprofessional and rude towards me. Not the type of customer service you would expect for such an important part of your wedding that has such a high price tag. I was clearly upset as I was now 3 months away from my wedding and have a great deal of money and time invested in a dress that does not look or fit as promised. After a long back and forth, Miriam asked that I consider trying another dress and they would cover the cost of this new dress should I want to continue to work with them. I later communicated to Miriam that while I appreciated the offer, I would prefer to head in a different direction for my dress as I did not feel comfortable working with them due to the unpleasant exchange I had. How could I trust them again, especially with a timeframe that left no room for error? I asked that they refund my money for the dress so that I could afford to purchase a new one at another store. She refused to refund my money and also refused to accept responsibility or any blame for the fit of the dress (at least via email - don't want to leave a paper trail). I said I did not understand what the difference would be between them purchasing me a new dress versus refunding the money for the dress I had already purchased, as it is all money lost. She said she offered that to me "in a moment of compassion" but was still unwilling to provide me with a refund. Needless to say, I would definitely not recommend using Soliloquy Bridal as they have very poor customer service and will say anything just to make a sale or to save face. It appears that when everything with the dress turns out beautifully, they are perfectly fine to work with as shown by the many other reviews you see here. However, when something goes wrong, they are unresponsive to concerns and unwilling to accept responsibility or take accountability for their wrong-doing. read more

I live overseas and flew in to visit my parents and try on dresses (because nothing beats American selection and customer service!) I called the day before and scheduled an appointment for the next day. We felt welcomed, comfortable and at ease at our intake meeting. Vanessa's pick and the first dress I tried on felt great- and I slowly started loving it more and more as I noticed the detail in the lace. I didn't want to say YEASSSS! to the first dress- so I tried on a few other options in other silhouettes. After coming back to the first dress - we added a belt and it was game over :) I was able to buy the sample so I don't have to fly back or ship it internationally (though the price was reasonable). As the Mother of the bride, i had no idea what to expect for our fist outing looking for a wedding dress for my daughter. We visited Soliloquy in March, the very first shop and the first experience for my daughter and I . I have to say that the experience we had far exceeded anything we could have wanted. The shop is set up so beautifully, and they only see one bride at a time. We had our own appointment, with Miriam (the owner ) and her staff there to give my daughter the kind of attention that she needed and wanted. From the start Miriam was so attentive, and the experience was very personal. The Maid of Honor and i sat and watched as my daughters dreams were coming true - trying on her dream dresses. The dresses are gorgeous and quite varied. I was amazed that Miriam knew exactly what my daughter wanted. We of course went in wanting one thing and by the third dress, Miriam had found exactly the dress my daughter was looking for. When my daughter noted that she wished it had little sleeves, Miriam found them, and made it happen. I still cannot believe that in one day, my daughter found her dream dress and within two hours we were drinking champagne and relaxing and looking at the bridesmaids dresses. I will add that Soliloquy carries a beautiful selection of Hailey Page bridesmaids dresses and the Maid of Honor also found a dress. I am amazed that we were able to find a beautiful dress in our price range, a veil, bridesmaids dresses, all in the same shop. The prices were what i expected to pay, but i cannot say enough about the personal attention given to the bride. We were the only ones in the shop nearly every time we visited. When the dress arrived from the designer, Miriam kindly let us bring some family members to the fitting and really and truly made it very special for us. The alterations were very good and we loved working with the seamstress who knew exactly how to make the dress fit best. My daughter had two fittings, and at each felt very special and taken care of. We are so pleased with our experiences and my daughter loved her Soliloquy gown. The wedding was two weeks ago and we are still so very happy with the dress. It was beautiful. if you want a warm, personal experience, a shop where you get attention only on you, and a beautiful selection of gowns, then I highly recommend Soliloquy Bridal . As a first time bride and for my first time trying on dresses, Soliloquy is exactly the kind of dress shop you would expect if your only experience is what you have seen in the movies. The shop itself is very neat and clean, dresses line every wall with a large 3-way mirror complete with a pedestal for you to stand on in the center of the room to painstakingly decide on every detail of your dress. There are soft comfy chairs for your mother and/or maid of honor to sit and provide feedback. Then there are spacious dressing rooms off to the side where they will help you in and out of the dresses you wish to try-on. My experience was with the owner, Miriam, and she was fantastic! I felt like I had her complete attention and that she genuinely cared about helping me to find the right dress. She had a robe waiting for me to don as soon as I walked in to the dressing room and then I got to go back out and find dresses I liked and even tried on dresses Miriam suggested. My mom got to sit back and relax while Miriam helped me into the different dresses in the dressing room. She really knew how to manipulate the dresses so that I could get a real idea of how they would look once altered. There was no rush at all and I got to flounce in and out of the room at my own pace. Some dresses I liked more than others, but I found "the one" which was completely different than the idea I had formed before stepping foot into this shop. Sadly, I did not purchase the dress, as I still wanted to go to another shop to see if I found anything better. (That shop experience was awful, read that review later..) The only thing I did not like was the extremely long lead-time (9 months) that was going to be required to get what I wanted, that seems a bit too long to me, which is why I am ultimately going with a web-based custom-dress shop, Anomalie, that only take 3-months to make and send my dress. read more

Wow. This was the most wonderful experience dress shopping i could have imaged. Miriam knows dresses. She started by talking to me about my wedding. Listening to what i imagined and then watching me gravitate to dresses- she then began to pull dresses for me. She was kind- honest- and the definition of joy. She made me feel beautiful and special. I barely write reviews, but after this whole wedding dress shopping experience, I really feel like I need to do my part and pay respect to the people out there that were really helpful. I went to bridal boutiques in NYC, LA, Orange County, and throughout the DC metropolitan area. I probably tried on 75 dresses or more (I'm pretty picky). Some places really stood out from the rest because they either had exceptional customer service or terrible customer service. Hannelore's in Old Town, Alexandria was the worst, by far. One of the best experiences I had was at Soliloquy, and I believe it had a lot to do with Lindsay. I went there three times and each time she was extremely patient, funny, and easy to talk to. The shop has a great selection and not all of the dresses are expensive. There's a wide range of prices overall. I didn't end up getting my dress from here, but man did I want to! read more

My first thought when I had an appointment at Soliloquy was: "a bridal salon in ...Herndon??" Wow, am I so glad I came here! My first appointment for dress shopping earlier in the day was a place over in Georgetown which is apparently supposed to be one of the best in DC. I was less than impressed. Coming to Soliloquy after that first appointment, I was hopeful I would find my dress, but wasn't super optimistic. Parking is in a free lot right next to the salon. The layout of Soliloquy is great. You come into a nice reception area with a view overlooking the salon floor. There is an elevator lift available for those who can't navigate stairs. The floor was spacious, bright, with each bridal pedestal on opposite sides separated by 3 full length mirrors so you couldn't see the other person. (The previous place in Georgetown where I tried on gowns, I was 4 feet away from another girl, which was super awkward.) There happened to be an Angel Rivera trunk show that day, which was so awesome to meet the designer in person. The staff at Soliloquy were all super nice, and a pleasure to work with. I tried on a few of his designs and found "the dress." As soon as I put it on, I was like, yep, this is it! Angel said he doesn't even have pictures online yet of "my" dress, so I truly felt lucky to have come here while he was there! If you can go to a salon during a trunk show where a designer is there, that really is an awesome experience. Angel showed me exactly how it would look with the alterations needed and even took my measurements. All the ladies at Soliloquy came to see the dress I picked out, and were just so excited for me! I had a great experience here, and even if you live out in DC...it is sooo worth the drive out to Herndon to come to Soliloquy! read more

You can tell that Miriam the owner and all the ladies that work with her really take pride in helping mold the bridal experience for you. The place is decorated really cute and they give you cotton robes and snacks when you come in. They seemed to have more unique dresses than I'd experienced at some of the DC shops like Hitched. I recently had the pleasure of attending a (free) Bridal Forum hosted at Soliloquy, the newest bridal salon in the area. Miriam Liggett (owner) has created an absolutely gorgeous shop in downtown Herndon, designed with the goal to make your dress shopping experience fun and even a pleasure. Clients are welcomed in a gorgeous, tastefully-decorated foyer. A few stairs take you down to the well-lit, well-decorated showroom, featuring curved full-length mirrors for clients to fully view dresses and comfortable furniture for their friends and family to sit while offering assistance. Perhaps one of the greatest features of the salon is the spacious dressing rooms! There is plenty of room in each for clients to try on dresses and receive assistance if needed. I'm not familiar with wedding dress designers, and the shop appeared to still be in the process of receiving its inventory when I visited, but Miriam noted that she tries to find dresses from a number of well-known designers from around the globe. She said her goal is to find dresses not found at chain stores or anywhere else in the area, so if you're looking for something unique, Soliloquy should be on your list. Miriam was a wonderful host at the Bridal Forum, and assured guests that there will be many more to come. I wish I bought my dress here but I ended up with a Watters dress that few stores carry. Nonetheless this store is perfect! I am in love with the owner. She really understands brides and what they are looking for; she is kind, a good listener, has a great eye for style, and very intuitive. Also, convenient location and parking was easy. After visiting a ton of bridal shops in the area (including in Georgetown) I was SO excited to find Soliloquy! I stumbled across it because I love Sarah Seven dresses, and this is the only place in the area that sells them! I made my appointment to try dresses on and everything was just wonderful. I had a small budget and a short timeline, and not only were they able to accommodate that but were so nice about everything. I felt so taken care of the entire time. They had fruit out for my MOH, mom and I to enjoy while I tried dresses on, and great music was playing. We had a blast. Today I went back for my fitting and the great care continued. I also got to look around at more of the dresses that I hadn't even tried on (not the look I was going for) and was just amazed at how gorgeous everything they have there is. I have seen so many different dresses over the past year, and these dresses stand out because of their amazing details. I used to see great dresses online and then be very disappointed in every store I went to, until I found this store. They are all gorgeous, and no other store in the area can compete with the collection here! read more

I just decide to go to couple bridal shops to find my dress. I had pretty high expectations for this bridal shop and to be honest I'm kind disappointed. The staff is extremely kind, nice and helpful. The place is gorgeous and fancy, very clean and very organized. The problems is that they do not have a ton of different styles. Also if you are a size 10/12 be prepared to do not fit in the dresses. Wedding dresses normally run extremely small but a lot of shops always make sure to have different sizes. Also you are not allow to take pictures of the dresses, so is hard to remember how you fit and show your friends. That's too bad because is a store with huge potential. If you are over size 8 and want to see different styles of dresses maybe isn't the right shop for you. I didn't find my the one there, but Alessandra was very kind and helpful! read more

Update to Tony L's comment: We can go over the facts, because nothing I posted was slanderous (nor, more correctly, libel): 1) I purchased a dress in-full from Miriam in October 2016 2) April 2017 I had not heard from Miriam regarding the status of the dress, and so I reached out to the salon 3) It took 4 days and multiple phone calls to ascertain where my dress had gone 4) It was then that I found out she released my dress without my consent, neither prior to or after the fact If something was paid for in-full by me, it is mine. Plain and simple. She gave it to someone else, without contacting me. The situation between me and the bride is immaterial because the bride did not pay for the dress, I did. There is no slander here. Miriam never paid me back. So what you posted is inaccurate. Please feel free to rebuke the above statement with a proof of refund from Soliloquy Bridal. Miriam gave my dress to someone else without contacting me; I am left to presume that had I never contacted her, I would had never heard from Soliloquy Bridal. I should never have been put in this situation. Update: It is interesting that Soliloquy Bridal has yet to acknowledge any of the true points. Would appreciate confirmation on whether or not Miriam gave my dress to someone else without my consent and without reimbursing me. I know the truth: Soliloquy Bridal never reimbursed me. Worst customer service. Custom bridesmaid dress order placed in march. Didn't receive until first week of October, 10 days before the wedding. She was not sympathetic and offered no discount or customer service. Also the measurements she took of us were so off, well had to spend over $150 in alterations. Stick with the size you know. It was a wonderful experience, they really spoil you over other bridal boutiques! The staff is very friendly and prove customer service is their priority. Other boutiques should take a page out of their book! I was working with Vanessa for my appointment. I felt like she really heard what I said about my likes and dislikes. She suggested some dresses I normally wouldn't want to try but they fit more beautifully than I ever imagined. She even followed up with a handwritten thank you note. Such a nice touch. They were having a trunk show for Angel Rivera that weekend. I didn't set up the appointment specifically for the trunk show but I am glad I happened to go at that time because THE dress turned out to be an Angel Rivera. I don't normally write reviews, but I could not pass up the opportunity to give 10 stars to Soliloquy Bridal. This is the only place you need to go anywhere in the DC metro area! I recently shopped for a bridal gown for my niece and we went to three other places in Georgetown that were all just fine, but this was truly the total experience. We worked with Miriam and she could not have been more knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. Even though we were on a short time frame, we found the perfect gown and felt totally taken care of and supported. It was truly the ultimate experience. I'm kind of glad that this was our final appointment because we had others to compare it to. So my recommendation is to perhaps shop in a couple of other places to get your feet wet but come to Soliloquy for the most wonderful experience where you truly can make your bridal dreams come true! read more

Working with the staff of Soliloquy Bridal was an absolute delight! I loved every moment of the process. As I mentioned in my last review, Miriam was right on when choosing a dress for me - I purchased the first one she suggested! It was so perfect for me and the look I wanted to achieve for my wedding day. She was also very respectful of our (admittedly kinda tight) budget and was upfront at all times. With the help of the Soliloquy staff, I pulled off the simple elegant look I was going for without breaking the bank! I felt absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day! There are so many wonderful perks to being a Soliloquy bride that you should know about. Here are just a few: 1) You get a first class experience when trying on dresses. I only went dress shopping with my mom, which was fabulous, and we were the only ones in the store, so we had Miriam all to ourselves (go dress shopping on a Friday afternoon, ladies)! However, the store is able to accommodate larger groups, and they can even Skype with a loved one who can't make it to the appointment! Once you find your dream dress, they break out the champagne and give a champagne toast! Also, the store is magnificent and meticulously kept. The floors shine invitingly as you walk around the store with beautiful gowns lining the walls. Even the air smells wonderful in the store! 2) Once you purchase your dress and before your actual dress arrives, Soliloquy allows you to "visit your dress"!! While planning my wedding, I was also studying for the CPA exam, so you can imagine I was rather stressed. However, every other week, I would treat myself to a visit to Soliloquy to try on the "floor model" of my dress! One time I brought in the shoes I purchased to be sure they matched. Another time, I brought in some jewelry, or tried my hair in different styles. But sometimes, I would just put on the dress and admire myself in the mirror. The dresses they sell at Soliloquy will make you want to look at yourself in the mirror all day (especially my gorgeous silk Heidi Elnora dress!)! 3) You can participate in trunk shows for dresses and accessories. This is a great way to see a wider selection of products that the designers offer, and I also found it really neat to be able to meet the designers who created the different elements of my bridal outfit. Very cool! 4) You can also participate in a style day where you can get a trial run of your hair and makeup on your big day. I was very pleased with the results of Shaunda (hair) and Liz's (makeup) efforts, and ended up hiring Shaunda for my wedding day. It was so much fun to get my hair and makeup done and then get to put on the "floor model" of my dress and veil to see the entire look - there may have been a few tears shed by all in the shop (me and my mom, plus the Soliloquy staff and hair & makeup ladies). It was quite a magical moment. 5) You have an opportunity to work with Sondra, wonder seamstress! She is quite amazing. She made the small adjustments needed on my dress quickly and cost effectively, and always had a smile to share! She was so wonderful to work with, and I expected no less from my experiences with the rest of the Soliloquy staff. 6) The Soliloquy staff will make you feel like part of the Soliloquy family. There are hugs and smiles all around when you enter and leave the store. The staff is always genuinely glad to see you. Plus, Miriam and Sondra were so wonderful with helping to sooth my stress when I picked up my dress 2 days before my wedding - I was worrying that I wouldn't get everything on my to-do list done in time. They helped me get smiling and laughing again and then sent me on my way with hugs and reassurance. Having found my dream dress, it was important to me that my mom find the perfect Mother of the Bride dress. She had tried on many dresses from department stores, but they were all either age-inappropriate or much too frumpy in either style or color. Miriam to the rescue! She selected an absolutely gorgeous gown for my mom - the perfect color, cut, and just...everything! My mother looked stunning in her Soliloquy dress. I highly recommend checking out the Soliloquy special occasion dress inventory for your mother, too! They also carry bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. I got married back in May and visited several bridal salons to find my wedding dress. Soliloquy was one of the places I visited, though I didn't ultimately end up buying my dress there. The people at the store were very kind and helpful and they have a large dressing area with a large mirror for you to try on dresses. I thought the store was very clean and neatly organized, but my one issue was that they didn't have quite as much variety in dresses as I'd hoped. I ultimately did not end up getting my dress at Sololiquy, but I appreciated how helpful they were and how well-organized and clean the store was! I'm definitely glad I checked it out when I was wedding dressing shopping last year. Note - there is parking in a lot near the shop. read more

I went to 6 bridal stores this past weekend. I had a pleasant experience at all except for here. The low star review has nothing to do with the dresses or the location. I had a few interactions with the owner as she was helping another customer but the few interactions I had were pleasant. My maid of honor told me that the owner was very helpful to the client that she was assisting. Unfortunately this was not the case for myself. I don't recall my consultant's name but she is the reason for my poor experience at Soliloquy. At the beginning she was fine but about halfway through, her demeanor changed completely and she became aloof and talked even less than the few words she said at the beginning. She did the bare minimum, which was giving me the dresses that I requested. When I tried on the dresses, unlike other consultants that I have had, she just stared off or even yawned couple times. At the very end, my maid of honor and I asked her were there other items resembling what we were describing. She curtly said no so I awkwardly said okay and ended our time. Our appointment was for an hour but many places were accommodating and the time never seemed to cut short. Here, the consultant said to me as soon as our hour hit, "That's all the dresses that I have for you today." Throughout the appointment, I had to wait several times as she had to ask the owner the questions that I asked because she did not know the answers. This was the only vendor that gave me items way above my stated budget, like around $2,000 more than what I told the consultant. I'm still not sure why she would show me a dress when she knows it's way above my budget, even without customizations. I would say if you do come here, make sure you specifically request the owner to be your consultant. I'm happy to say that I bought my dress at another bridal salon with a much friendlier, helpful consultant. read more

I didn't end up getting my dress from here, but I had such a great experience that they deserve a 5 star review! I was in the area and my mom happened to be in town so we were very last minute in scheduling an appointment and just stopped by. They were so gracious and squeezed us in (though I'm sure they don't recommend this fyi). Lindsey took care of me. She could see my vision right away after a short conversation and I felt like she had known me for years and knew what I was looking for. It's unfortunate I found my dress somewhere else because I would have loved to continue working with them. The store is really nice and they made me feel right at home. Great customer service. I cannot thank Miriam enough for her guidance through the process of purchasing my wedding gown! I purchased my gown back in July and just had my first fitting this week. A process that I expected to be overwhelming has been so wonderful. Each time I've been there it's been a little preview into my wedding day (the glass of prosecco you get is a lovely touch!). They were very helpful, knowledgeable and really listened to what I wanted in my dress AND they delivered! In addition to getting my wedding dress, I also purchased a tiara. Beautiful shop in downtown Herndon. Miriam, the owner, was very sweet and extremely helpful. She knows how to work with any budget and what can be done to a dress to make it fit your wants. I haven't ordered yet, but I'm going back in a few weeks for a trunk show. I highly recommend making this a priority go to bridal boutique. I felt special the entire time I was there. read more
