Since this will be our first Indian wedding, we had no idea what to wear and chose Mohar based on the recommendation of a friend. The sales consultants at the store did not disappoint. From the moment we entered the shop, we were greeted warmly and felt welcome. Our salesperson could not have been more patient and helpful as we considered the many options. The clothing options were just beautiful, and the quality of the material was obvious, but it was the fabulous customer service that left such an impression on us. I am an Indian bride and I worked with Mohar by Ekaa Couture to custom design and make all of my bridal outfits. Each of my bridal lehengas was gorgeous, unique, and made with extremely high quality. The owner worked with me patiently over several sessions to finalize my outfits order. She made many of the design suggestions, including colors, blouse styles, and embroidery. My bridal outfits were delivered with plenty of time to spare and were made nearly perfectly to my measurements upon first trial. Only minor alterations were needed, all of which the Mohar team took care of quickly and seamlessly. In addition to my bridal outfits, Mohar by Ekaa Couture also made matching outfits for the groom (my now husband). He is still receiving compliments on one of his outfits months later! We looked well coordinated and it was so easy to have our outfits made to match from the same designer. Lastly, I also had my matching bridesmaids' lehengas custom-made from Mohar by EC, based off measurements that my bridesmaids took themselves; the outfits turned out beautifully. I went to Mohar today for the first time and I'm so glad I did! I was greeted as soon as I walked in and Ms. Mohar was so helpful in finding the perfect Diwali outfit for me! I'm a plus size girl so I'm always conscious of my body, especially when buying Indian outfits. Ms. Mohar made me feel comfortable and showed me all the various sizes she had and made sure I found the perfect fit. She also agreed to alter for me as needed. She was so patient and so nice and for that I'm so grateful! I drove 45 mins to go here and it was totally worth it! The problem is the sheer stupidity of claiming that a store is not responsible for websites and apps which use their name or list their products. Someone should have updated this long ago because this clearly shows how irresponsible and unaware the staff is about the display of their products. Just by the nature of interaction on the phone, most people who work here seem oblivious. On top of that, the owner herself is rude. My mom came in trying to return her outfit. The issue was not about the proper return. It was about the correct way to deal with a customer. Customers should feel welcomed to the store, not bombarded with short ended replies. My mom did not feel comfortable there. When the owner does not care about respecting customers, it says a lot about the caliber of their business. read more

Poor customer service. My mom is Goan but maybe I don't past the right "look" test because I did not get the same attention as other women in the shop. I indicated that I was going to an Indian wedding and needed help on what to look for / buy because I am unfamiliar with the style and what is appropriate. I got minimal attention and received dismissive behavior from the clerk as if I didn't have enough money or know what I was talking about so I didn't deserve it. Stopped in a couple weeks ago to shop for my wedding! Being a White woman, I didn't really know much beyond what I had seen growing up watching "Say Yes to the Dress." Mohar herself helped me shop and worked with my Future Mother in Law to make sure my fiancé and I are appropriately attired and match sufficiently. My family is in the midst of planning our wedding in October 2021. Mohar has been so supportive as we navigate creating my bridal outfits, my families' outfits, and my American groom and his families' outfits. We are so grateful for her attention to detail and patience. She has truly been wonderful to work with. She delivered my STUNNING bridal outfits early. We cannot wait for the wedding! I know most brides want to make a trip to India as they plan their wedding outfits. I would encourage local brides to work with Mohar instead. I bought a lehenga for my engagement. I liked it in the store, but when my fiancé saw it, he noted it didn't match his suit. I wanted to exchange it, but the seller refused, making excuses that I had worn it, among other reasons. The customer service was terrible, and the owner was very rude. Now, the lehenga is a waste for me; I can't even wear it on my engagement day. Therefore, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking to buy clothes. read more

I purchased 2 lehengas for a wedding I attended in Jaipur in January and I was beyond satisfied with both outfits! They were absolutely stunning and perfect for the occasion - the design of the tops was extremely flattering and minor alterations that needed to be done to both tops were done wonderfully and very quickly, especially for the green and yellow outfit which needed to be altered with a fairly quick turnaround. My only criticism would be that some of the beading was loose or had completely fallen off on both of the tops and the sales associates just told me that "no one will notice anyway" as opposed to attempting to fix them. Other than that, the sales team was very helpful in my months long shopping process and the outfits were so stunning - both the two that I ultimately purchased in addition to the 10+ I looked at and tried on throughout the whole process! Horrible customer service. Went in for an emergency clothes purchasing session. Spent over 700 and was told to come back a week later and pick up altered clothing. When i can back, clothing did. It fit. I was told by the owners husband they would allow me to return the unworn outfits as i had no use for them. The wife who is the owner is now denying the return. AVOID THIS PLACE! My Fiancee's family and I liked the designs but wanted a different color scheme. We paid extra to get some Saris tailored from India in different colors. We put in the orders over a month in advance. We were told we would get the clothes a week before our event. When we called at the due date they didn't have it ready. We had to keep calling before they finally admitted two days before our event that we would not get some of the Saris in time. Why couldn't they tell us earlier that the orders would not arrive on time?? If they needed more time they should not have taken the order! There is no accountability at Mohar! We had to go to another store to buy outfits for our event last minute and this caused enormous stress on everyone. The icing on the cake was my Sherwani was tailored two inches too short. Surprise, surprise, we should have checked the other reviews before coming here. At least we were able to convince them to tailor some random extra fabric they had on hand last minute which somewhat salvaged the outfit. read more

Don't be deceived by the pictures online, the people hear scam you of your money, don't deliver proper service, and literally kick you out of the store if you try to voice your concerns. I made the mistake of coming to this place to get a dress stitched. I drove an hour and 30 minutes twice to drop off an pick up the dress. Even after confirming with the shop owner both in person and on the phone my dress was not stitched properly. I was told to go out and by extra material because apparently if the tailor were to do that my dress would take more than 14 days. Even after I did everything, my material (the lace I wanted around the dress) was shorted. The owner just discounted me $10 of the total completely disregarding the time, gas, and money the extra materials cost. On top of that, when I was voicing my concerns, the owner's husband was talking to his wife in hindi saying "hey this girl is screaming please take care of her." Then, when I told him I understood what he said he brushed it off and escorted me out of the store because he didn't want his other customers to see how bad of a service they provided. All in all, they ruined my Eid dress, treated a paying customer with horrible service, and got this 1 star yelp review. Given the limited options for Indian clothing stores in the area, Mohar seemed like a good option. Although their designs are nice/pretty, they are overpriced. The customer service is terrible. I probably should have taken the other reviews people have left on yelp more seriously because it seems like mine is not an isolated experience. If you do find a piece that you like at this store, I would highly recommend NOT using their tailor. After several failed attempts at alteration, I was given an unwearable blouse for an outfit lehenga that cost $250. Not only is it Ill-fitting, it also has a tear. The staff at the shop were unhelpful with the alteration process. Especially if you are on a tight timeline, definitely use a different tailor. It is not worth the hassle and enduring the rudeness of the staff who blame you for their incompetence. read more

Mohar's underarm waxing process is very methodical-they don't just carelessly slap the hot wax on and yank it off. Baby powder is used beforehand and great care is taken when the wax is applied. I feel they are knowledgable about hair removal on women of color. read more

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at Mohar. 1. Do not use online site (unhelpful staff and no tracking order given) 2. Return policy is different on the website vs their connecting app Shopify 3. The owner and staff do not know that Mohar is on Shopify app meaning customers who buy from the app may not receive their order. 4. Staff and owner Mohar do not understand how the online website works or the online shop very clearly. Most things are not updated on the website. 5. Disrespectful staff and unprofessional. We bought from the online store but no tracking order was given and the online store automatically connected to a Shopify app to track the order (the app also doesn't give you tracking information). The "shop" app has a Mohar store and a return policy (with steps and a different email) that does not align with the return policy of the store's website. After my mom got the delivery she didn't fit into the order so we decided to return as written on the return policy in the shop app. Called the manager and Sanjay did not know anything regarding the workings of the website. He gave me the number of the owner Mohar who also had no idea of how the website works and that it connects to Shopify where they have a different return policy. After helping the owner realize that her own business had a store on Shopify that she was unaware of with a different return policy, she realized her mistake and told me that my mom could come and return the clothing. When my mom came, the owner made my mom feel uncomfortable because she could smell perfume on the clothing. My mom felt disrespected not because she couldn't return the clothing but because they way the staff treated her. Very disappointing. read more

WOW. I don't know how they stay open when they are so rude to customers. I went in looking for a dress and the woman in the store did not want to help me at all, and was very rude. There were no other customers so it wasn't that she was busy. She started with telling me they didn't have many clothes in my size (I'm a size 12), and then told me that clothes in my size were few and not in one section. When I asked her to pull what would fit, she looked really annoyed, like she had something else to do. I've worked retail before and I get it's hard but if you hate people, don't do it. Frankly, I didn't buy the yellow dress I liked because she was so mean and I didn't want to spend money in that store because of her. Looking for a dress is supposed to be fun but she almost ruined it. Too bad because I had money to spend. If you look at their reviews, they have numerous one star reviews for being rude to folks.
