I tried Hot Yoga Tyson's and unfortunately, the vibe just wasn't there for me…read more Before class even started, the instructor asked if I had done hot yoga before. I shared that I've practiced hot yoga many times at CorePower Yoga, but he immediately shut that down by saying they're "not the same." After actually taking the class, I don't agree, between the temperature, humidity, and sequence of movements, it felt very similar. The dismissive response rubbed me the wrong way and honestly made me less excited going into what was supposed to be my first 60-minute class with him. The studio itself also felt pretty old and dingy. It doesn't have the modern, clean, welcoming feel that I'm used to at CorePower. Overall, it seemed to cater more toward an older crowd and a very traditional, no-frills hot yoga style. Personally, I missed the motivating and encouraging energy from instructors, as well as the music and upbeat atmosphere that make classes feel more engaging for me. This studio might work well for people who prefer a very classic, straightforward hot yoga experience, but it just wasn't the right fit for me.

They also have swim team after work and school hours so you are sharing a pool with toms of young kids. It's dirty in bathrooms, the sinks are always dirty, all bathroom floors are wet, and showers are covered in hair. Disgusting! their cleaning people pass over issues rather than handling. Not to mention the fact weights are always missing and we have basketball courts making it so loud your noise cancelling headphones still won't block it out. You also can't get through to equipment unless you cross behind the courts so hopefully you can catch a ball. Also pretty sure the AC doesn't work at all. The one good part is the GM there is always kind but their upper management seriously needs to fix these issues or just close the gym at this point. It's embarrassing

Equinox Tysons Corner -- BEWARE…read more Extremely shady cancellation practices. I went into the club four months ago specifically to cancel my membership. I spoke with an employee, clearly told him I wanted to cancel, and was told I was good to go. Now, four months later, Equinox is claiming there is no cancellation request on file and telling me I owe four months of membership fees. Convenient. This also isn't an isolated issue. The BBB has numerous recent complaints involving Equinox and cancellation problems, continued billing, and customers being sent through unnecessary hoops just to cancel. A luxury gym with a premium price should have premium customer service. Instead, this feels like a deliberate game of "you can join easily, but good luck getting out." Document everything if you're a member. I would not recommend Equinox Tysons Corner.

I have been a member almost a year now and I come here pretty much everyday, never had an actual issue. If there is an AC issue, or water temperature at the pool, "things breaking" can happen at almost every business, they are immediately taken care of. Awesome crew, on point cleanliness, actively renovating older spots, bathrooms, lockerrooms, etc - i have personally witnessed all of these in the past year. As for parking, of course, in the middle of McLean, at peak hours any business is going to have limited parking. This is common sense. Besides the peak hours, there is always space to park. One thing I would suggest tho, is to open up the pool registration hours to earlier hours as well, like 5am when the gym opens. I cant register for sooner than 7:15. Other then that, keep up the good work!

(See pic) - it is like a maze: hard to navigate easily and it reminds you of your public school set up - group classes itself were nice, but the AC AND the fans on the ceiling don't work, so imagine how hot it gets.. like 77 on my group class day. It was so uncomfortable. - if you need tennis or other courts: this is your best bet! They have so many tennis and other sport courts. So choose this location if you like tennis, squash etc. not a good fit for those who just wanna workout in group classes or swim in comfort. $90 a month plus $100 or so for initiation fee. 3. Our instructor Ivana was great and came around to correct our form. She motivated us and encouraged us. If it's your first time, I highly recommend taking the beginner class because they go slow and it's a bit confusing to where to go and what to do.most of the workout was definitely focused on the core area of your body. We did some Hungarian lunges which were challenging but good for your booty. I signed up through classpass and it cost about 10 credits. The downside is that classes are definitely expensive. However the studio is nice and clean, there are bathrooms, free towels to use, water fountain, cubbies for your stuff, mints, hair tie, etc. Some issues I had were: -it was hard to hear our instructor because the music is loud and the quality of the mic is not that great. I had to watch other people constantly and those people look confused as well. -we didn't stretch at all after the class which I find to be a downside because I get really sore when I don't stretch. In other class, we always spend a couple minutes stretching to recover muscles. -the door was confusing to open, even with the code. The just email you the code but not really any instructions on how it works. I found myself sweating a lot when we did the slow movements which is great! I burned about 480 calories in this class which is great. I will try to incorporate this workout once a week! But I would just have to stretch on my own after I guess

I love the coaches in the Mosaic location (I haven't been to other locations). I am a total beginner to pilates-like classes and the reformer machine. I took ~3 foundation classes to get started and I felt like the instructors were all so great at helping me improve my form to get the best workout possible. I feel pushed but not shamed into challenging myself. They sell towels and water if you happen to forget to bring either. I feel like a sweat a mild-moderate amount and I don't think a towel is absolutely necessary. Water is probably a good idea - but the class is pretty fast-paced so not a ton of time for water breaks anyway. Now that I'm hooked, I typically do ~2 classes/week. I like the early AM classes (but they fill up fast!). I feel like this gym is clean and compact. I get exactly what I need out of it. There aren't showers so plan accordingly if you have plans afterwards (it's a good sweat!) I like their Public Goods toiletries and have even bought some myself after using them at this gym.
