One of the larger and nicer studios I've seen for a Solidcore, the worst place about this place is finding parking. Do note, they do have Retail spots in the garage of the building they are attached to but it's a bit tight. Some street parking but really hard to grab. Check in was easy and staff was friendly. They were big fans of hands on instruction and the machines seemed clean/in good condition. The lobby area was huge, with tons of seating room. The products they used in the bathrooms were nice, Oribe dry shampoo and Salt and Stone lotion/soap. Better amenities and cleaner studio than the ones I've frequented before! read more

Woot 100th yelp post and it's for solidcore! I've been going to solidcore since their studio in wildwood opened.. when I moved to Tysons I was happy to find out that there's a solidcore studio less than 5 min away from me. If you're looking for a workout that will continue to challenge you and make your stronger - this is it. It's low impact but soso effective. The workout is 50 minutes of completing variations of differents types of moves, to planks, lunges, squats and more on a machine that they call 'sweatlana' lol. This class makes me solidly..SORE like no other (which is what I'm looking for). I try to stretch on my own before or after to help alleviate the soreness. All the instructors are great, but my favorite instructors at this location are Kat G and Andie Yoon! Kat def has my fave music, from hip hop to dirrrty trap to edm, def helps to zone into and distract from the burn. Both instructors have great energy and know how to keep the room motivated. As far as parking, there are plenty of options. There's street parking right in front, limited spots in a garage right next to the studio, and a garage across the street with 2 hrs of free parking. read more

Love this location! My favorite weekend routine is taking class with my girl Sydney, getting my shake on, and popping over to the tropical smoothie down the street. Very convenient, and the parking around the studio is relatively manageable even outside of the garage. They do a great job here of keeping things clean and sanitized, and they've got wipes a plenty. Disclaimer: I visited solidcore through ClassPass. I have heard a lot about solidcore through friends and coworkers who frequently cite this as one of their most intense workouts. I also foolishly underestimated how much CORE work would be a part of solidCORE. (Spoiler: It is a solid amount...) But TL;DR this was indeed a fantastic workout at a great facility and I'll be back. The workout is hard. I don't believe I was signed up for a beginner class but my off-peak class was 2 beginners and a returning patron, so our great instructor (Kat) was really helpful and friendly and not at all difficult to keep up with. Class is held on a reformer that I believe is custom for solidcore, which means that most exercises can be adjusted quite a bit based on your needs. Lights are low, music is fairly loud, and there is a mirror at the front so you can check your form. Kat kept encouraging us not to take breaks and mental strength and all but I am still starting out on this fitness journey, my body is not as strong as my mind wants it to be yet! I was really sore in the best way leaving and I felt that satisfying burn long after I left. The facility is clean and spacious and not difficult to figure out what's going on: there is a water station for you to fill up your bottle, there are little cubbies for you to keep your items in, and the door is locked so that no one goes rifling through your cubbies. (Great for peace of mind and for avoiding dealing with lockers.) Towels are provided for those of us who get real sweaty. BTW: I was quite concerned about parking but, in addition to the street parking right in front of the studio, you can park for free in the retail parking under the apartments next door, so don't worry about it. Couldn't find the location in the south end. There is a huge sign but with locked doors and nothing inside. I couldn't find the correct location. I paid 100 for a two week trial and would've liked to go a few times. After I mentioned that I couldn't find the location they just told me to come back "if I am still interested" because my two week trial was still active rather than extending it due to the inconvenience. I found it funny they would write if I was still interested considering I paid a hundred dollars to go. Of course I was interested?????? But I was turned off by the whole thing and never went, wasted money, and will find a different Pilates place. read more

I have been dying to try out this place for awhile. I have never done Pilates or anything like it. Since I live nearby and some of my friends have tried it, I decided to give it a shot. There is a new client deal for $39 for 2 classes. My first class I tried was an all levels session. Booking was simple, you can do it through the [solidcore] app. New clients have to arrive 15 minutes early so that there is time for a mini tour and instructions on how to use the machine. There's a code to enter the studio, which should be emailed to you once you book your class. I forgot who I had met, but she explained the space a bit. Complimentary towels, changing/restroom area, lockers, items available for purchase, etc. Then I had met with the instructor, Natalie. She explained the parts of the machine and what it's used for. The class was the most intense class I have ever taken. I've done lifting weights, cycling, kickboxing, etc. and none of those classes has ever worked my muscles the way this session did. I have also never sweated so much in a workout - I don't sweat easily. After this class, I was sore for days. I would definitely come back and am considering my options for packages, although it is pretty extremely pricey. read more

I enjoy running outdoors and my path sometimes takes me by this place and finally decided to grab a flyer about a week ago. Eager to try something new and switch things up, I signed up right away. I created an account and booked online. It was fast and simple. Once you pay for a package, you're able to sign up for classes. I registered for a beginner's class and I'm SO glad I did. The day of my class, I received an email from the instructor. I thought this was really nice and a great way to break the ice. I was soooooo nervous about this. She introduced herself and asked me the type of music I like to listen to and said she looked forward to meeting me. Sweet! I arrived for class 10 minutes early and met Korey. She is the sweetest and funniest ever! She gave me a quick tutorial and assured me I'd be fine. Class began on time and we jumped right into it. Holy moly!!!! It was the most intense work out I've ever had!! Korey was encouraging. She walked the newbies through how to do the moves all while pushing us and reminding us of why we signed up. I gotta say, I had to stop a few times. It's just really intense. Even the beginner's class. They recommend you take 6-8 of those before you take the "all level" classes. I was so sore the next day and the day after that my eyeballs hurt. But that's how you know it's effective. I cannot wait to redeem my next class. The only downside is that it's pretty pricey. But we get what we pay for. If you're looking for a challenge and results, check them out. I cannot wait to go again. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Solidcore. But in a good way!!! It is by far the hardest workout I have EVER DONE (and I have tried almost every boutique gym in the area) and I always get a tad bit of anxiety on my way to class but then I get the BEST feeling o accomplishment the minute class ends and I get that gratifying "high-five" and "great job" compliment from the instructor. The workout itself is intense and I highly recommend taking a beginner class or arriving early if it is your first time - that way the instructors can give you a run down beforehand. Like other have said, this is Pilates on steroids!!! I swear even my earlobes hurt after my first class - you will work muscles you never even know existed! I love the low lighting and the different moves in each class. The coaches here are SO motivating - they yell at you but in a very motivational way that makes class go by very quickly. My personal favorites are Teneice, Natalie, Gillian & Kelly! I swear their 'seconds' last way longer than normal earth seconds though. lol This location is beautiful! The second you walk in, you feel like you are in a little hotel lobby with the large white leather couch, modern decor, nice bathroom amenities, changing rooms, and my favorite - the retail rack :) Parking is free and easy either right out front or in the Nouvelle parking garage attached to the building. You are given a code to unlock the door so I feel like our belongings are definitely safe while we are in class. read more

Is it just me or is anybody else a fan of the new studio smell? The newest [solidcore] studio is open right in Tysons off Westpark Drive, just a hop, skip, and jump away from the mall, right next to the Nouvelle apartment building (you won't miss the big [solidcore] signage!). There's plentiful street parking in front of the studio as well as around it. The lobby has an open concept and the studio is in a separate room. FYI, they also lock the front door during class so you don't have to worry about any of your personal belongings. The studio itself is huge and there are 12 brand new Sweatlanas waiting for you to hop on. The pricing can be expensive, but it's totally worth it. This location has currently has a grand opening special on their packages, but you should also follow [solidcore] on social media so you can keep track of any special promotions and discounts. I've added [solidcore] into my workout routine since October 2016 and it's been painfully wonderful. Every class I take is different and I never find myself getting bored of the workout because it's challenging each and every time. I've gone at least 2 times a week for the past few months and I've been seeing awesome results! You'll definitely create a [stronger] version of yourself, both inside and out. read more

LOVE SOLIDCORE! Tysons is my favorite studio! It's conveniently located and has ample parking too. When you walk in, it's so clean and inviting! There's fabulous retail on the left and bathrooms/changing rooms on the right. Make sure to relax on the comfy sectional! You'll love the blue lights during class too! This workout is hard, but it's hard for everyone. You can be at any fitness level and take solidcore because there are amplifications and modifications. The solidcore community is inspiring! There are up to 13 individuals taking class with you and you will get through it as a team. I've been a client for almost 2 years. The community and instructors will never cease to amaze me. You don't know what you will do in class, but you are guaranteed to leave sweaty, stronger and empowered! Some of my favorite instructors are: Kelly M., Chris O., Andie Y., Kat G. & Nicole T. They always know what to say and when to say it to keep you going. All Tysons instructors will motivate you to push your limits and leave you wanting more! I've been doing [solidcore] for a year now, and this is the most beautiful studio I have ever been to. The lobby is huge and extremely welcoming. The studio itself is lovely as well. The new and improved machines go by the name Sweatlana and are so fabulous. The workout is incredible and will change your life. It's the hardest thing I have ever done and I am completely [addicted]. I know that the price of the workout is oftentimes a major concern, but I believe it is completely worth it considering the results you will see if you stay committed and the fact that the class size is so small. Small class = more individualized attention from the coach! I was a little bit worried about parking since it's in the heart of Tyson's, but it wasn't a problem as there was plenty of street parking available. This is not a class to go to if you are completely new to fitness because although they can modify the exercises they are normally very advanced. They do show you how to use the equipment however and you can take beginner classes. Do try to make sure you can do a decent plank before you come since you will be in that position a lot during class. I can't wait to go back again soon! read more

I've been taking classes at Solidcore Tysons for about 6 months now and I can't give it enough love in this review. What to expect: Killer workout. Think pilates meets bootcamp...with bumpin' music, nice and helpful instructors and all the sweat and shakes. Also...high-fives from all your classmates! For beginners, I definitely believe a beginners class is key before jumping into the standard class. You'll have more guided instruction, get comfortable with the machine and feel less pressured to keep up with the regulars. I've seen first timers attend regular classes very often and its doable too - just arrive early for an overview! This location: Free parking. Spacious. Clean. Plenty of class options (days, times, peak vs off peak). I also love the instructors here. My favorite coach is Teneice -- she creates great playlists, encourages you to push past your comfort zones and provides great mic commentary. She loves getting to know you and gives your individual workout a person touch. Background: I've always been a cardio person and never really focused on strength or toning. The first few classes KICKED. MY. BUTT. in a really good way. Even 25+ classes later I still use modifications, take small breaks and feel the effects days later. I've never had a coach who made me feel bad about not pushing myself enough or blasted me on the mic. That's not the culture of the studio or the workout. I've only ever had coaches who motivate. Results: To date, I'm stronger than I can remember ever being. I do push up, my lunges are deeper, I can up my spring/weight load and I discovered that I have a core and it does a lot of good! I walked into the class yesterday and i was 7 minutes late, so the instructor came to me and told me it s over 5 min and i cant take it and she got my name to cancel my resevation. there were only 3 people in the class. As i was leaving i saw that they were doing a pose that got my attention and since i am new to this whole thing i standed by the door for a second to check out their form for my future classes. She (i think her name was Zahra) walked to me and asked me rudly " what are you doing here still" i said just watchiong for a minute. She said if you are not taking the class you need to leave and she rudly embaressed me in front of everyone. I paid for 2 weeks introductory class and i will reach out to cancel and get my money back. they also charged my card for $3.22 for a water which i never purchase. read more

I came here the Yelp free class as part of the Fit Yelp month. We were greeted promptly as we walked in the door and told where to store our belongings for the duration of our hour long class. The studio is one room with several machines that have a myriad of equipment attached to them for use during the different levels of the workout. I had never done Solidcore before and was told that his was a beginners class (HA!). The instructor was nice enough, but I felt that she went through explaining the portions of the machines we'd be using too quickly. She was also one of those drill sergeant type of instructors that would yell at you if you were doing the wrong thing or tried to move forward to the next portion. That was another thing I was not pleased with during the class. We have just a few seconds to adjust to a new position or new portion of the machine for the next piece. Sometimes that wasn't so easy to do. While I'm glad I tried this, I will likely never do it again. I was in SO much pain for about a week afterwards. I would also not recommend these classes for anyone with bad ankles. read more

They warn you "the next day you'll feel muscles you didn't know you had" - that says it all. I should've listened to the warning ....but I was like "how hard could it be?" Oh I found out alright. It was like the longest and hardest hour I've ever experienced. I knew after 5 minutes that a part of me was going to die in there. Seriously, the machines don't even look that intimidating or hard! It's got a bunch of bungees that you can adjust for different levels of resistance. I was sure I can do multiple bungees right off the bat. Man, I was SO wrong. The good: + Really knowledgeable and encouraging coaches that lead you through the whole hour. Since it's such a small class (maybe 10 people), the coach gets to walk around and adjust bungees and fix your posture to make sure you're doing it all right. + Loud pumped up music to get you through it all. + The moves are not about how much strength you use or how big your movements are, the coach said it's all about controlled movements and making sure your posture is correct so you are targeting the correct muscle group. + Each move lasts only a few minutes so she'll work you through your whole body in the hour. + I appreciate the little things - they have a pretty studio with things such as hair ties and bobby pins for your hair incase you forgot, towels and filtered water. Plus, their bathrooms are really clean and super empowering (you can write things on the walls and floors!). The not so good: + It's not Solidcore's fault. It's just not the type of exercise for me. After many trials of different types of classes and exercises, I've determined that my right exercise is fast paced, upbeat Zumba like classes where it's more focused on dancing and aerobics. Despite the whole "smile, you're getting stronger" mantra Solidcore has, it's just not the type of goals I have for myself. So I'm thankful for my trial class to have taught me that. + And of course, like I said earlier, YOU ARE GOING TO HURT SOOOOOO much the next day, and the day after the next day. I felt like I broke every bone and muscle in my body and it almost made me cry to get in and out of the car the next day. But yes, if you continue, you will certainly get stronger and change your whole body. + I found the coach to be confusing sometimes - maybe it was so hard because I felt like I was dying but I couldn't follow all her directions - sometimes she says "get ready to move" and then "don't move yet" but then you're suppose to be at the next move already.... I just felt like I was always behind schedule.... Maybe it gets better (or I get faster) as I go more. + Pricing - it is definitely an investment, introductory offer is $125 for 5 classes and then $175 for 5. They recommend 2-3 classes a week so you can do the math. It's worth it if you find this to be your kind of pain. =) read more

I love love love Solidcore!! I got in health and fitness 5 years ago after losing 73 lbs. Since then it's been hard to find a place that constantly challenges me and has AMAZING music playing to keep me motivated. When I stepped into my first Solidcore class... I won't lie I felt a bit intimidated because everyone looked so ripped and it was my first Pilates class ever but it wasn't intimidating at all- the instructors called you by your name (how do they have such great memory ?!? Idk but I love it) and guided you through workouts as a beginner. Next few days I was so sore, I make a joke about using my bed frame to get out of bed haha. I fell in love with the atmosphere, the vibes, the lights, THE MUSIC and the challenging aspect of it all. I'm so addicted to these classes now- that missing a week feels like I haven't been in for months lol. I highly recommend to check out Coach Gillian and Nikita!! They have bomb ass playlists and their energy is so sweet and welcoming!! I don't feel judged but I feel like I'm a part of a workout family! I'm immensely happy I found this place! read more

tl; dr: If you want something relaxing this isn't for you. If you want something that makes you earn that shower and the right to feel lazy AF then this is it. I'm kinda surprised this location doesn't have a higher rating. I started taking classes in September and am now addicted. I've only been to four of the locations: Ballston (home studio), Mosaic, Tyson's, and Old Town. Tyson's is my second favorite studio. Parking is never an issue when I go and it's kind of tucked in a nook of Tyson's so it's not like you'll battle traffic while you try to parallel park. I've attended three classes here and each class has had a kickass instructor. At least a few times in class you'll start questioning your life choices as to why you're doing this exercise still but then the instructor calls you out by name and says something encouraging. Teneice's class has the best music - TI, Michael Jackson, and I think Mary J. Blige was playing when I took her class? Unclear on MJB but her playlist was dope in addition to the flow of the class. Kat G. has a super welcoming vibe, good music (Powerglide by Rae Sremmurd came on at the beginning and it was PERFECT mood music), and a LEGIT class - my lats and traps were sore AF the next day (and she was my 7th or so class, so I wasn't a total newbie to the moves). Brooke E. is friendly and has great music too. Super easy to talk to and chatted with everyone before class. I told Brooke before class started that my shoulder had kept me from classes for a few days so I might be slacking on arm work but she gave mods for the moves which I really appreciated. read more

This is the absolute [best] and most unique workout ever! I'm a runner, so I've got the cardio aspect covered, but I needed something to build up my strength. I think the gym is so boring and I hate lifting weights. I've been consistently taking about two classes every week for the last 6 months and I have noticed such positive changes in my body. The classes are small, usually 9-12 people, which is great. And the coaches are beyond amazing. They are so motivating, helpful, and knowledgable. I always feel so accomplished after each 50-minute class. Even though I have a love/hate relationship with this workout, I can officially say that I am completely addicted and obsessed! Love this studio - it's always clean. The coaches I've had were all top-notch. Lindsay (from Ashburn) subbed one time and was amazing and Kelly is someone that tortured my body in the best way possible. For those complaining, yes, the workout is hard and you'll be in pain for several days afterwards but it gets better as you consistently go. I love the challenge, I love how coaches correct form, I love the motivation, and I love how every class is different. Literally the only non-cardio, low impact class I take and the money is worth it, especially during off-peak times. Parking is free in the garage. read more

It was our first time at this location and beginners class, Thursday, January 26th. Monica Ruiz was an excellent instructor, she will work your entire body. I recommend everyone should try it once. My daughter and I walked in and we weren't even greeted, had no idea where to place our things and while we sat down next to the receptionist, on the white comfy sofa, she greeted everyone coming in and told them where to place their shoes and about the water station. Even though this location would be ideal for my daughter, whose an athlete. I will rather investment my money in another location where she will be treated like a person. This is the hardest workout I've done and after the first class I said I would never go back because it was pure torture. However, now I usually go once a week because I feel accomplished after and feel improvement when I go regularly. Everything hurts and shakes ...and I'm sore after but it's so worth it for the results! My core and legs particularly feel stronger. It complements well with my yoga, climbing, and insanity! The studio is new and clean. The classes at this location fill up less quickly than Mosaic. The main con is that it's quite expensive :( I would like to go more frequently but about $30 per class is limiting because 2 classes is about the same price as my one month membership to Sportrock and 1/3 the price of yoga. Sometimes they will have discounts or specials so I'm always on the lookout! read more

Yeah, Solidcore will kick your behind in a good way. My instructor Korey was awesome! Before class, Korey sent me a welcome email giving me the opportunity to ask questions before arrival. She even asked me what type of music I would like to hear. Class was a bear and I thought I would not make it within the first 10 minutes but Korey was encouraging enough to the point it didn't become annoying. She corrected my form, gave a few pointers, and left me alone to continue with torturing myself. When I wanted to stop, one of the artists that I previously recommended came on so I just had to push harder. It was only common courtesy right?!? Lol. Anyways, 50 minutes later and drenched in sweat, I was done. Class was awesome and I will definitely return. read more

Totally hooked for life on [solidcore]. It will change your life. I took the first class and thought I was going to throw up. Had to go home and lie down for the rest of the day and could barely move/walk for the rest of the week. It's definitely the hardest workout I've ever done and I've been a competitive rower. After I recovered from that first class, I had to do it again... and then again... and again. After just going to two classes a week for the first 3 weeks, I saw major changes in my body, my strength, and my well being. After 3 months, I crave the workout when I can't do it for a few days due to work or travel schedules. All the coaches are fantastic, but Kelly is the best!
