Solidcore Mosaic is such a great studio! The classes are consistently challenging--expect to shake, sweat, and feel muscles you didn't know you had. The coaches are super encouraging and do a great job guiding you through the slow, controlled movements that make Solidcore so effective. The Mosaic location is also a huge plus. There's ample parking in the garage, and it's free for a few hours, which makes getting in and out stress-free. After class, you're right in the heart of Mosaic District with tons of great spots to grab a smoothie, coffee, or a full meal--perfect for a post-workout reward. I absolutely love Solidcore. I signed up for their 2 week unlimited welcome offer and have been hooked ever since. I love the coaches in the Mosaic location (I haven't been to other locations). I am a total beginner to pilates-like classes and the reformer machine. I took ~3 foundation classes to get started and I felt like the instructors were all so great at helping me improve my form to get the best workout possible. I feel pushed but not shamed into challenging myself. They sell towels and water if you happen to forget to bring either. I feel like a sweat a mild-moderate amount and I don't think a towel is absolutely necessary. Water is probably a good idea - but the class is pretty fast-paced so not a ton of time for water breaks anyway. Now that I'm hooked, I typically do ~2 classes/week. I like the early AM classes (but they fill up fast!). I feel like this gym is clean and compact. I get exactly what I need out of it. There aren't showers so plan accordingly if you have plans afterwards (it's a good sweat!) I like their Public Goods toiletries and have even bought some myself after using them at this gym. A great workout - but just not for me. The workouts are fantastic and you feel the effects immediately after. However for me it was a bit too much- a lot of equipment to learn. The blue lights don't help and music is a bit loud. My biggest issue- communication. I could never talk to a person directly-you communicate through their portal and response times to my questions could take 2 or more days. Plus the classes were always full. read more

I've been going to Solidcore for quite long now through Classpass. I usually go to Reston location but there was a discount, so I tried Mosaic location. I tried this studio first time during pandemic and second time on 4/17. I really love Solidcore, but I have no idea what happened to this studio after pandemic. This studio used to be clean and perfect in everyway, but when I visited recently, it was very stuffy and no air circulation whatsoever. The temperature in the studio is wayyy high that I almost felt no oxygen. The workout itself is pretty tough, so the temperature can affect you a lot. It was way too hot in the studio that it almost felt like I was in hot yoga and it can possibly give you heat shock. I almost wanted to give 3 stars, but at least the instructors became more informative than before. They show you forms and adjust your forms and give you pretty nice encouragement, but again they gotta work on their studio before someone passes out. read more

Review update in response to solidcore's response. I never said I had a medical condition that prevented me from attending the class. That was the condition that they imposed on a courtesy reinstatement of the credit. Therefore, I gave up trying to get my credit back when I didn't have a doctor's note and took to Yelp to warn others. This is by far the most challenging thing I have ever tried, but now I'm hooked! Joined 3 weeks ago and I can't believe it took me this long to try this place out. It's very intimate and the coaches are all so motivating and helpful. So I like solidcore but for how expensive they are I really don't like how they don't have great customer service. For example I accidentally went to the wrong studio for class the other day because I was so accustomed to going to mosaic that I forgot it wasn't there that day, yea my fault, but it was an accident- I emailed them to explain and ask for my credit back since the classes are so damn expensive and this is a treat for me, not something I can typically afford and they completely ignored me. I feel like they don't give a sh*t about the person as long as they have your money. It's not like they're dealing with a difficult population of people that they need to be this way. I wish they had a little more understanding and better customer service- (zengo would've given me my credit back and they have after I no showed there for a legit reason). Why do they need to be so expensive? They pay their coaches $50/hr which is ridiculous! That's almost twice what a nurse makes!! I get that rent is probably high but their prices are way more than other comparable gyms in the same block. Each place is about 15-25/hr so why aren't they?? read more

New body, who dis? That's how I'm feeling after a [solidcore] class. Admittedly, I was stalking the reviews and I always found myself peeking through the windows for the Mosaic location because I was always curious... but intimidated about the workout. My girlfriend Nancy N. convinced me to try it out so I finally gave in. I purchased the new client special (2 classes for $32), and ended up purchasing another new client special (5 classes for $125) after my first class. Why? Because it HURTS SO GOOD. This full-body workout on their own trademarked mega reformer machine (named Sweatlana) leaves sore for at least 2-3 days after class. The amount of shakes throughout my body during and after class is ridiculous... in a good way. I haven't experienced that with any other type of workout. The coaches are very motivating and they make great adjustments so you can have the proper form. I like the small classes (there are 13 machines total) because you feel as if you're getting a more personalized experience. I'll be adding [solidcore] to my fitness mix of spin, yoga, and barre. It's seriously painfully terrible. That's why I keep coming back. :P I admit I originally gave solidcore a hard time re: their prices. I still think it's crazy, but I go on the offpeak times on the weekends, and it isn't soooo bad. The instructors are wonderful and want to see you succeed. I'm trying to get back in shape. I recently gained a bit of weight, so I have kinda low self esteem when I think "I used to be able to do this" and then the workout is so hard, I feel defeated. Especially with all the other HOTTIES that come here and I'm like.. I wish I could do a plank without my 400lb stomach weighing me down, lol. Okay so I have wanted to try out this gym for awhile now. I finally decided to buy the 2 classes for $25 packages for newbies. I showed up about 15 minutes early to learn the ropes of the equipment. It seemed a little intimidated at first but it was easy to understand once the class got going. My class had about 7-8 people in and the instructor (Tara) was very vocal and correcting my form when needed. I also was able to look around at the other people if I was a little lost. There is defiantly people that attend the classes on the regular. I am pretty good shape despite some extra weight I have gained after my foot surgery. I managed to do a lot of the workout but I reluctantly admit that I had to take quite a few breaks. I was sore after the workout and more than likely I will be really sore tomorrow and the day after. I will have DMOS (delayed muscle onset soreness) for sure. I think this is a great supplement workout to my current routine. I am planning to buy another series to sprinkle into my current workout routine. One thing I am not a fan of is the prices. It is quite expensive and it is something I will have to ration out. Who ever knew 50 minutes could make you hurt so badly (but in the most amazing sort of way)??? [Solidcore] is hands down the best workout I've tried. Walking in to the first class, I thought I would be okay... I mean I run pretty frequently and weight train almost on a daily basis... but boy was I wrong! Natalie at the Old Town location kicked my butt!! Since then I've been to the Mosaic location twice, once with Kelsey and once with Kelly. I think all three instructors were PHENOMENAL! I would have to say that I hurt the most after my most recent class with Kelly. However all three instructors were extremely motivational and kept me going (although I wanted to take a break for at least half of the class) As others have mentioned, the price is kind of steep. But considering the small class size, it's practically personal training so in my eyes, it's well worth it. My next goal... to get on the 100 class wall!! We'll see if my body can handle that many days of pain. Ps although when I walk by, the studio is usually full of girls, I would encourage all guys to try [Solidcore] as well! I brought the boyfriend to my last class with me and although he thought it was going to be a walk in the park for him, Kelsey also made him sweat through his whole shirt! I was sore for TWO DAYS. But I love the burn. The instructors are always so encouraging and motivating. It's on the pricey end but you can really feel the difference afterwards and really only need to go 2-3 times a week. As I write this review, I have to say that every single part of my body is aching in the best way possible. I was looking for something to shake up my workout routine, which normally consists of HIIT and strength training. Solidcore is the complete opposite of the quick paced cardio/weights combo I'm accustomed to, and after one class...I kinda think I'm hooked to that slow, intense burn. Mary was my instructor and she was incredibly kind, welcoming, and reassuring. It can be intimidating attending any kind of group fitness class alone, but I got a really chill, non-pretentious vibe from both the studio and the instructor. And yes, the megaformer looks like a medieval torturing device, and while it is anything but medieval, it does induce some killer torture - but don't worry it's the good kind :) Solidcore asks all newbies to arrive 15 minutes early so that the instructor can take his/her time explaining the megaformer to you. The machine looks pretty intimidating, but the instructors are very hands-on and they'll take the time to help you adjust the machine during class as needed. Since the class sizes are so small (I think 13 max), you really get a lot of attention. Your instructor will gently correct your form, adjust your weights, and sympathize with your pain with some positive reinforcement. So while Solidcore is quite expensive, the intimate classroom environment and the undivided attention of your instructor make the hefty price tag worth it. - The studio offers free water, towels, and hair ties! - Two adorably decorated bathrooms are located in the back. - No socks needed on the megaformer. - I advise you take not one, but TWO towels. I've going to solidcore for a little under a year and love the workout. I'm not an advanced athlete -- just a regular girl who likes pushing herself and getting stronger. [Solidcore] is an intense, full-body, Pilates based workout using customized machines named sweatlana! If you want to feel the burn without all the sweat this is it. Exercise sequencing includes core, lunge, squat and upper body moves that work your muscles to burnout. Do you think you're in shape? THINK AGAIN! DO you think you're strong? NOPE!! Solidcore will redefine what kind of shape you think you're in! I've been to about 10 classes and I'm totally addicted. You will not be able to walk after the first class. After the second you'll start to get it. After the third you're hooked. The class is only 50 minutes long, but it 100% nonstop. It really does go by pretty fast, but it's painful in the really good way. AND you'll have a "skinny day" for like 3 days after. So that's awesome. Expect to be able to do about 40% of the class the first time you go. No- I'm not being funny. I'm serious. BUT you WILL be able to do it. I took my 65 year old mother who is an avid bodypumper/ barre addict and she was totally able to keep up! I echo the only really bad part- it is crazzzzy expensive! But, think about it, they're only able to fit 11(ish) people into each class verses the 30(ish) you'll find in any other studio. So, it makes sense why it's $$$ but it still sucks. So far I've trained with Mary, Marvin, Hilary, Tara and Alex Perrin. All of whom are top notch. I've also worked with their Corporate team via email, and that was also a positive experience. Painfully wonderful! I teach cycling 8 times a week and go to Sculpt at CorePower Yoga when I can -- I thought I was in great shape. [solidcore] reminded me within 10 seconds of the first plank, there's always [SO MUCH] room for improvement. The workout is so different and challenging than anything I've ever done, and I love it. *I went a few times a year and a half ago at another location, and didn't stick with it bc of proximity to my house. Love how quickly they've expanded into convenient areas. Thank you! I'm now determined to keep suffering through the pain and weeeeeerk. Really appreciate the off-peak class pricing and times. This is expensive, but they say 1-2 times a week will get you to where you want to be AND the classes are so small its almost like having a super cheap personal trainer, right??? Ralph N. is a GREAT instructor. He has awesome music, so much energy, and makes you want to hold that lunge for the 8 seconds when you're dying. He's also super nice. I highly recommend. Also LOVE Kelly M. She's the manager too. She has really inspiring energy and spot on cueing. I felt so motivated to keep going through the shakes today. She makes you feel like you can actually those last 12 seconds... The studio itself has inspirational quotes everywhere, clean equipment, and a clear sound system. Located in the Mosaic District next to Sisters Thai and the blow dry bar & there's a parking lot nearby. This studio is small but very clean and sleek. I've worked out at Solidcore a few times now and I definitely have a love/hate relationship with it. Solidcore is such a unique workout that you can't do on your own in a gym, and each workout is different so that your body doesn't plateau. Each time I go, the class FLYS by because of how intense the workout is and how much concentration is needed for the movements. I love Solidcore because I always walk out feeling great but I hate it because my muscles burn and shake and are sore for the next few days!! (But in the best way). I wish that Solidcore was less expensive; I would be more open to purchasing a package of some kind. However, when comparing other boutique fitness studios, the pricing is pretty relative, especially because you can't do this workout at a gym. So freaking hard!! But that's what I was looking for and wanted and I loved it! I bought the 2 passes for first time and was genuinely shocked at how "good sore" my body felt after the first class. I basically walked out of here with shaky legs and arms like jelly and needed my friend help me to open the doors to go out Lol. The instructors here are the most non-awkward, super qualified instructors I've encountered LOL. If it's your first time, you need to make sure to show up early. Great coaches, great workout. We keep going back, because it's a good environment... Stocked bathroom, soft towels, bowls of goodies on the table. The coaches are peppy and dedicated. But there are some areas to address Why do class passes expire so quickly? If you buy a package and then sign-up for a off-peak class, you are losing money. The S strap covers get gross, quickly. Things need to be cleaned more frequently. The owner will suggest you buy your own strap covers, but at $30+ a class... Don't ask me to pay more. read more

I started my solidcore journey over a year ago and was off and on for a while mostly because of the price. I have tried many workouts since and love to keep my workout calendar rotating however I've never seen anything close results wise. I recently signed up for unlimited with the summer discount and am so stoked to be in the studio 3-4x a week. The coaches are welcoming and super helpful with modifications. Best workout of my life. I'm not a high intensity workout type of person, but this class really hurt, in a good way. I don't have a set work schedule, so I can't commit to a class that charges for no shows. I understand that it's a business, but I have way too many unexpected work emergencies and this business model gives me anxiety. I was so sore from my first workout, I was on bed rest for a week. Mentally prepare yourself before stepping into Solidcore lol. Initially, I was surprised because I didn't expect such a small studio...but the space is pretty clean and organized! There's also free parking on the side of the street. This class will teach you how to push yourself to the limit...I was sweating BUCKETS during my first class. Tbh I was intimidated when I walked in but my instructor, Caitlin, was extremely helpful. She took time to show us how to use the equipment (there was only one other person signed up for the class during my slot). She payed close attention to each of us and made sure our form was correct. Overall, I had a nice experience even though I wanted to die every second. It totally feels worth it after you finish. Solidcore classes were already expensive to begin with but now they have increased the prices and added on taxes and fees!! Previously you could get an off-peak 10 pack for $250 flat. Now it's $260 plus taxes which are about $8 and if you use a credit card there is an additional processing fee for each transaction! It is just getting out of hand and as a loyal customer I don't see myself continuing after I finish up the amount in my account just because of how expensive it is and how the prices keep going up. The discounts they offer usually aren't good at all. For example, go to 12 classes in a month to win a hat. So if one class is $37, going to 12 I'm spending about $400 dollars in a single month and get a cheap $4 hat in return?? Seems ridiculous. Normal people can't afford to go here long term. They advise you to come at least 2-3 times a week so you end up spending at least $300 a month just for Solidcore. If you belong to other gyms, yoga studios, cycling, climbing, etc then your monthly expenses will more than triple! I'm really disappointed because I use Mind Body at other studios and classes and no other business charge taxes and fees to take a class! In the end, you may be able to get very similar results elsewhere and saving yourself thousands of dollars. I'm going to look into class pass which allows you to go to various studios including Elevate and Pure Barre (in the same shopping center) for $100ish a month which is much more reasonable than this place. Also, you can only cancel if it's more than 10 hours before the class you registered for. So if for some reason something comes up (you need to stay late at work, you feel a bit under the weather), you can't cancel or you'll lose the money! So you end up forcing yourself to go sick or forfeiting the money, which is not cheap. read more
