This studio is truly a gem in the area! It has a great location next to both Trader Joe's and Fairfax Ice Arena. All the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful throughout each series of movements. The space is clean, beautiful, and easy to access. I appreciate the small, intimate class sizes, as they allow for more personal attention and guidance. In my opinion, the best part about this studio is the variety of classes available, catering to different levels and experiences. My first class was a prenatal series, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and it made me feel welcomed into the studio community. The best part is the owner she is extremely knowledgeable and personable but most of all informative, always attuned to the individual needs of each class, and is just a wealth of knowledge of her pilates expertise. From Profesional ballet dancers to new moms this class. I've seen an older community of women who were so strong and ushered me in to challenging movements alongside given such encouragement. My girlfriend and I signed up for a Six-Week Pilates Reformer Duet Session with Eurona via Livingsocial deal and were pleased with the results. I have prior Pilates experience (barre/reformer/chair/mat) and girlfriend had none, but picked things up quickly. I think Eurona did a really good job of keeping me challenged as well as focused on technique, while giving my gf the cuing she needed to understand the movements. The studio itself is tucked away in an office park off of rt 29. Actually, if you take the hot lanes on 495 (like I did) to get there the rt 29 exit drops you off almost exactly where you need to be. Epiphany Pilates offers a variety of classes; mat (levels 1-3), reformer (privates and duets), yoga and bootybarre. So there is something for everyone. They have a large open studio space for the group classes and then two smaller rooms for privates. I like the studio set up; this way, you don't feel like you are interrupting anyone's session. I enjoyed my time at Epiphany Pilates, I would recommend the private sessions to anyone wanting to learn more about form and technique. I am also interested in going back for some bootybarre. I want to say that I am so lucky to have found epiphany pilates. Finally, I found the right place. All the instructors are very friendly and coaches people thoroughly, it feels like a 1-1 class. They also have a great promotion going on now. But it is completely worth it to pay for a membership. All the equipments are brand new, very clean! The booking system is very helpful. I have met many different people since going to epiphany. Everyone is so sweet and friendly. I am actually new to pilates so I was so worried and nervous before my first class, but there are so many others that feel the same way and the instructors help to relieve any pressure and teach you every step of the way. The instructor was very annoying to listen to (with her exaggerated tone in her voice), and she moved at a pace that was a little too slow, even for pilates, however she stuck to true pilates form and it was a solid workout and for that I'd return. I'm not a fan of all their policies however and for that reason I wouldn't book through them but rather use Class Pass. For example, I don't think it's fair that they require a 24 hour reservation cancellation- for one, that's way too far in advance, but for another right after that they say that they have the right to cancel if fewer than 3 people reserve.... how is that fair? It's saying that my time isn't as valuable as theirs and I don't like that type of business model. read more

Before I begin my review this is plug if you haven't looked at the Yelp events section you're missing out. I went to Epiphany Pilates for their open house on 4/10/16 (which I found out about while exploring the Yelp Events Page). I signed up for the yoga class and stayed for a demonstration of the Pilates chair and Reformer. The yoga class was good and the studio space is nice. I liked the fact that teacher really broke down the positions for the "newbies" in class. My only complaint / suggestion to the teacher would be to offer props before the class begins or hand them out during moves that might require them. I really enjoyed learning more about Pilates. I am not a fan of Pilates mat (although I know it is really good for you) but it turns out after trying a couple of moves on the Pilates chair and Reformer, I actually like non-mat Pilates. I was the "good sore" the next day from just doing a couple of moves on the Pilates Reformer. I can see how doing Pilates Reformer on a regular basis can change your body. I am seriously thinking about signing up for a class pack for the Reformer in the future. The studio only has 2 Pilates Reformer machines and they don't have a set schedule. It is my understanding (talking to other women at the open house) that you buy/book a package and the studio sets up an appointment/scheduled time for you (sometimes with someone else who is available at the same time) based on your availability. It appears based on what I saw at the open house, it would be a much more personalized experience at Epiphany than a place like Solidcore (thou to be fair I haven't tried them, yet). Although, the studio space is tiny; it is comfortable. It is located in office park so be aware when you park (don't believe it is metro accessible) you have to walk around (and thru a couple of doors) to enter. It is the kinda of place that might be hard to find at 1st but after you visit once you get it. In other words give yourself some extra time if you're trying a class for the 1st time. The prices for yoga and Pilates are not cheap but not outrageous for the area (from what I can tell in the brochure I picked up). I can't give Epiphany a 5 star review because my experience is based on a very limited experience. In a nutshell if you're new to Pilates or need a low key yoga studio to increase your flexibility check out Epiphany. read more

I went to my first Pilates reformer class and took level 1 with Eurona, the owner. It was the best class I've ever taken (step, yoga, barre). I was there with another lady in her 1st trimester. The instructor was so patient and helpful. I knew absolutely nothing. I'm not fit at all. The last time I worked out was 2 back to back pregnancies ago. I am in love with the class. I felt so refreshed afterwards. I only felt minimal soreness the next day and more so energized. I worked my core and it didn't feel like I was going to die. This is a great class for those starting again, that might have joint issues. I didn't feel bored and secretly wish it was over soon. I didn't even look at the clock. I was completely engaged the whole time. As I said, the instructor was excellent and made me feel completely comfortable and explained everything in great detail. The class sizes are small. Yes, all reformer pilates classes are a bit pricey for the average working Joe, no matter what studio you go to. I did my research and rightfully so because the equipment is a few thousand dollars. This was a treat for myself to jump start a healthier lifestyle. I didn't realize I'd fall so much in love with it after one class. One to the cleanliness of the studio. This place is spotless. I mean Spotless! Not a single fingerprint. I love it! So, if you're in "snapback season" (Google it if you don't understand or find an urban friend to explain), this is the place for you. I'd say 2-3 times a week once your doctor says it's ok to exercise. It works on your core and posture, but, I personally feel like my pelvic wall was being strengthened too. I started going to Epiphany Pilates midway through pregnancy #2 (planning on a vbac) and am so happy I found this studio! Eurona is a fun and knowledgeable teacher, and her prenatal pilates classes helped me significantly during pregnancy and labor. I highly recommend her classes to anyone, but especially moms in the prenatal or postnatal stages when it can be challenging to figure out what exercises will work with your body. A bit more for any moms-to-be who might be interested: I was struggling with diastasis and preparing for a first attempt at a vbac when I started classes at Epiphany. The prenatal class's focus on pelvic floor stability helped a lot with lower back/hip aches and pains -- it's so easy to get out of alignment further along in pregnancy. Also, the breathing exercises Eurona begins class with turned out to be a huge help during labor. Weeks in a row of practicing deep breathing and relaxing in class helped me get into that rhythm when contractions started. My labor lasted about 15 hours, but being able to get good breaths in and truly relax through contractions made it surprisingly manageable, and I never felt like an epidural. The breathing exercises also helped me get through pushing without hyperventilating, and I managed to deliver a 10lb 5 oz baby. I'm 5'1" with pretty much nothing in the hip department, and my first was an unplanned c-section who got "stuck" (before I knew anything about the exercises that can help with baby positioning), so hopefully this is encouraging to anyone else in a similar position. I guess there's no one thing to do that can guarantee vbac success, but the prenatal classes at Epiphany definitely helped me get there. Love this place! Took a barre basics class as my first ever barre class, and what a workout! More than anything the instructor really made the class enjoyable, she was so energetic, enthusiastic, fun, attentive, and more than anything patient in explaining all of the moves as it was my first time. She made me feel super comfortable, because let's be honest small classes can sometimes be intimidating. It's an incredible workout with a really fun group. I will absolutely be back! read more

I really really love this place. The attitude of all the instructors is positive and motivating. They make it a community where we are all trying to improve, whether we are just starting out or we've been doing pilates for many years. I love that the classes aren't too large -- it makes it possible to get individual attention and feedback. Eurona, the studio owner and teacher of most of the mat and barre classes, really cares about her students' growth. She adjusts classes to meet her students' levels and she shows different modifications so we are all challenged in every class. She also changes up the classes (and the music) all the time so every class is different and fun! She also offered me a discounted private lesson after I talked about having lower back pain in mat class, and the class helped me find what I was doing wrong. I went to the Monday night yoga class for the first time last night and I was surprised how much I loved it and how much strength and flexibility I've gained over the past 9 months of going to Epiphany pilates. I told the instructor that I'm not flexible and I have no upper body strength, but I was wrong! I surprised myself with how much I could do. I love the Booty Barre classes! What a great workout, and its fun too. Eurona is very nice and helpful, and keeps the classes relatively small so she can pay attention to each participant. The Booty Barre Plus classes are awesome for toning legs, arms, and core,with small repetitive movements. I take these classes as a supplement to other workout classes, and it's been great so far. The studio also offers alot of pilates classes, which I haven't taken yet, as well as reformer classes. They have a good deal going on right now for a low flat fee per month, for unlimited classes of all types. Great instructor and great workout. read more

I've been doing Prenatal Pilates with Eurona since I was 6 weeks pregnant. I'm now 35 weeks and have experienced zero pregnancy-related physical aches and pains at all, which I think is completely due to the strengthening and flexibility this class has provided. I truly look forward to attending each week and Eurona couldn't be more warm, welcoming, informative or helpful if she tried. I highly recommend it for pregnant (or non-pregnant) ladies. I had the pleasure of taking classes at this studio on several occasions. The studio is conveniently located off of 495, which is a huge plus. The studio is warm and inviting. Eurona instantly made me feel comfortable by immediately greeting me and explaining the class. You do not get this at a gym or other studios. The studio was very clean and the equipment was well organized. I took the Booty Barre class and loved it! While Eurona was conducting the class, she explained which part of the body we were working. I loved how she used technical terms. I felt as though I was not only getting a workout, but I was also being educated on my body structure. At the end of the session, she took time to explain package offerings to me, even though it was late. The next day (well, few days) I was very sore! I no longer live in the D.C. area, and generally am glad for it... but I wish I lived close to this studio. Popped in for a yoga session while I'm here on holiday and It. Was. Wonderful. I signed up for a Vinyasa Express class and ended up having Susan all to myself. She was great--very attentive, able to tailor the session to what I was looking for. I've been doing yoga for over a decade and I left pretty tired--exactly what I needed. Plus, the studio is beautiful, and Susan was very personable and kind. Have not taken a Pilates class here, but I'd recommend giving them a shot. read more

Loved the classes at Epiphany Pilates, especially the BootyBarre class! Eurona is a wonderful instructor and pays careful attention to detail when it comes to proper posture and form. Class sizes are relatively small, which I consider a plus because it allows the instructor to pay careful attention to students. So sad I'll be moving out of state. i am disappointed. if companies do not have the capacities they should not do groupon or living social. selling coupons and then not having appointments available (except one day) seems like a bad marketing. not well thought through. not impressed. sorry edit: we contacted you directly and were only directed to the homepage schedule which had no appointment available until april, and then only one day so that the six weeks offer could be realized without loosing the coupon. you had no other offer when we called. anyway, it does not matter as not every company can please every customer. :-) so this is more about the marketing and not about the quality of your classes or your studio (we cannot rate these as we could not wait until may :-P) read more
