I normally go to slt in NYC (which is phenomenal) but have been very curious about sculpt. I went this am and while one class is hardly the means for a rating, I found the studio meh as far as megaformer workouts. Don't get me wrong. This workout is difficult and not geared towards beginnings. The straps, balancing and movements cause one to need a few times to get the gist of it. Add on to the general difficulty! So why 3 stars for sculpt. Playlist and drill sergeant like instruction made the class not fun. She counted 20-19-18.... more repeatedly. Grrrr. I found myself repeated looking at the clock which is something I rarely do. In addition, music was circa 1980s and definitely a feed issue to the stereo because there was a scratchy sound for parts of the class. Moves and corrections were generally very good, however. As I've mentioned with other specialty classes it's the instructor that makes all the difference. I'm super spoiled I live in NYC and fortunately a couple of my favorite folks are not only at the tops in their field, some have even developed cult status (so says allure magazine). Best practices equal always a fresh playlist (I've never heard the same list twice for my favorites), good choreography, energy and corrections. So for $35 a class, I'd hope that I get just that. Otherwise I could go to the free classes at my gym. I think solid core which I rate 4.5 stars is better on instruction and energy, music also could be improved. 3 stars bc any megaformer class is a minimum of ok, but the extra factor is instruction and music.

Her instructions are simply amazing. This is a smooth running operation that provides a top notch service and I love referring people because I know they will be as happy as I have been with the experience. I like to refer my clients (I have owned a personal training company for 20 years), because there are certain elements of health and fitness that are beyond my scope and the Pilates and Yoga piece are a great compliment to my services. I take Pilates, yoga (Iyengar) and Pilates Total Fitness (a brutal...brutally awesome!) hybrid class. The yoga classes are great. Each instructor takes the time to correct, and the focus is less on speed and more on holding the pose. While each teacher's style varies (some focus on sequences, others don't) I always walk away feeling that light headed, wobbly muscle yoga feeling. The Pilates practiced at Balance is "Power Pilates" which I've learned is a classic form. I've taken both reformer and mat, and both are great workouts. Last is Pilates Total Fitness. All I have to say is these classes, especially the one with Jane, will make you weep..but in a good way, I promise!

If you have class pass the code they provide to get inside the door didn't work. I had to wait for someone to let me in. Parking is great. I did a 9:30 pm class on Tuesday, and i love the variety of the times of the classes. This class was only 30 minutes, and I felt like I got more of a kick out of it, than some of these 50 minute classes I take. I took the class, Powers30: Core + Upper Body, with Kayla, and she was amazing. She was encouraging, and helpful with correcting the wrong form.

Pulse fitness participates in this, and it's about 5 credits a class through ClassPass. I've been able to take a variety of classes here, from the TKO Boxing to the different styles of yoga, and the pilates machine! I like it because it's super close to my apartment and parking is never an issue. It's a really cool spot and never feels super crowded. They have separate spaces elsewhere in the building that holds the pilates machine as well as a cycling studio. The instructors are good and responsive to any areas you want to focus on. Would definitely recommend swinging by to take a class here or join as a member!

The studio was very clean, and the bathroom was too. It was also stocked with hair ties and other feminine products, which was very thoughtful and cute! The actual class itself was also great; I was feeling the burn which exactly what you're supposed to do! The instructor was really nice and i felt rejuvenated and productive after the class. The implements are in good condition, and they clean them between each class. They also give you a hot towel with aromatherapy oils at the end. In addition, since it was my first class, after we finished the girl at the front desk gave me a card with the other class dates and a little sachet of dry lavender! This place was so cute and well kept. I would definitely come here again, they had great vibes.

I just tried the free introduction class on a Saturday since I was trying to figure out what fitness/gym center I should sign-up for. I knew nothing about Pure Barre coming in, but the folks there are quite responsive via text. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the instructor who was at the front desk, and she had informed me that I was the only one who had signed up for that class time, so I basically had a one-one session with the instructor. The environment was very clean and the ambiance felt bright. The instructor was very lively and fun to be around. She had emphasized that it was a welcoming environment and even informed me of a military discount since she recognized I was in the army. She had noted that the community is very friendly, and it is a great environment to be in if you just moved to the place. During the class, she was very professional and guided me through all of the movements. I would say that the Pure Barre class reminds me of a mix of Pilates and Ballet. It definitely did make my muscles sore during the workout, but I thought this was a little slower place than what I was looking for, and I didn't feel sore the next day. If it were my style of exercising/what I was looking for (an exercise that will help me train for the ACFT and learn how to incorporate heavy weights into my routine), I would have definitely signed up. At the time I had tried the free class, there was a promotion of the first 3 months being $99 each month (which is a steal!) since their normal prices are usually around $199, so it is a great way to start Pure Barre and see whether or not you like it. In addition, they had informed me that the capacity is currently at 10 people (due to COVID-19). People on average comes in 3-4 times/week but others come in 1-2 times/week as an addition to another workout. So, I'd say: give this a try! You never know if you'd like it or not.

Now, there is lots of turn over. Tonight, I thought I made a reservation but for some reason it didn't go through. Nevertheless, I showed up at class and the reformer was available so I proceeded to the class. The instructor was very rude and told me I could not attend the class until I spoke with someone at the main office (mind you, it was 7:15 pm and the office was closed). She treated me as if I was stealing the class, I explained to her that I've been going here for many years, showed her my remaining membership credits, and informed her that I texted the RTR number informing them I was at the class so my membership could be deducted. After about 10 minutes of waiting and lost class time, she walked up to me, asked me my name, and added me to the class. Why she chose to not do that to begin with was quite bizarre. It took 2 seconds. Over the years, I've learned to modify exercises to not exasperate my back. However, this instructor was so rude that loudly argued with me as I modified the exercise in a way I've done for years and I do every time the exercise is done. While this specific incident is the first of its kind, the care for customers has substantially declined and I'll sadly be taking my business elsewhere. We pay too much money for such low quality service.
