Always a fantastic workout - absolutely a great option when you are in Bethesda! Highly recommend

I've been obsessed with the megaformer workout these past few months and I've found it transformative for my core and tendencies towards injuries. I normally go to slt in NYC (which is phenomenal) but have been very curious about sculpt. I went this am and while one class is hardly the means for a rating, I found the studio meh as far as megaformer workouts. Don't get me wrong. This workout is difficult and not geared towards beginnings. The straps, balancing and movements cause one to need a few times to get the gist of it. Add on to the general difficulty! So why 3 stars for sculpt. Playlist and drill sergeant like instruction made the class not fun. She counted 20-19-18.... more repeatedly. Grrrr. I found myself repeated looking at the clock which is something I rarely do. In addition, music was circa 1980s and definitely a feed issue to the stereo because there was a scratchy sound for parts of the class. Moves and corrections were generally very good, however. As I've mentioned with other specialty classes it's the instructor that makes all the difference. I'm super spoiled I live in NYC and fortunately a couple of my favorite folks are not only at the tops in their field, some have even developed cult status (so says allure magazine). Best practices equal always a fresh playlist (I've never heard the same list twice for my favorites), good choreography, energy and corrections. So for $35 a class, I'd hope that I get just that. Otherwise I could go to the free classes at my gym. I think solid core which I rate 4.5 stars is better on instruction and energy, music also could be improved. 3 stars bc any megaformer class is a minimum of ok, but the extra factor is instruction and music. read more

I took my first class back in November and was instantly hooked. I have tried fad workouts (cross fit, zumba, etc) and could never really see any results or seem to stick with it. This has changed my view on working out and has motivated me to eat healthier and be more active. Yes, the classes are hard. They challenge me not only physically, but mentally. The instructors are great, fun, motivating, encouraging and personable. I like that they know my name after 1 or 2 classes. I'm not sure how long I'll be taking the classes because I live about 40 mins away and it's a little bit pricey. They have the occasional deals so I try to take advantage of those. read more

Sculpt Pilates was an experience! I got the living social deal a while back and decided to give the 7pm class last night. The studio was easy to find right on the corner or Auburn Ave and Norfolk with plenty of parking. Its's located downstairs but you don't feel at all like you're in a basement or anything. Now to what you really want to know....how was the class? Their slogan, "Our 50 minute mega reformer classes will leave you sweating, sore & wanting more." Was I sweating? Oh yea within 60 seconds and straight through until the end of the class. Was I sore? Oh yea as I laid down to get in bed I though, "this may hurt but I think its best to roll over and take a Mortin so you can walk your pumps tomorrow." Do I want more? Hmmm I am not so sure. While I found the class challenging I'm not sure I'm in love with it. I've practiced classic pilates for about two years and while there are some pilates moves there really is little to no emphasis on the core which just so happens to be the crux of the pilates practice. Ironically their was no stretching or moves focused on lengthening the body either, yet another crucial principal in the pilates practice. There was a lot of emphasis on lunges and squats which are absolutely essential for strength training and getting a nice firm butt. And with summer and beach season coming up I can certainly appreciate that! All and all, I'll return for the rest of the classes in my deal. They say you need to go 3x/wk to see the best results. After last night, I believe I could bounce a quarter off this booty by the end of the month using that schedule. Its a good workout especially because there are no breaks- so 50 minutes of pure work (of course that's a star on its own). But if you're looking for a pilates studio this probably isn't your best bet. (3.75 stars over all) read more

So I just took my first class there. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. I absolutely loved it. It's hard. But the time absolutely flew by (plus I like a 50 minute class rather than an hour. 100% approve). I had taken solidcore, and didn't love it (they spent so much time in high plank that my wrists hurt, which I feel like isn't the part that should hurt after exercise). I wanted to try a megaformer class again, and I'm on classpass, so tried Sculpt Studio. I'm really glad I did. The class was great, and the teacher (Mary) was great - she knew I was new and kept an eagle on me. I will definitely be back....in a few days when my posterior stops hurting. read more

The Lagree method is SOOO effective at toning and sculpting- and all with no impact on my delicate and aging joints! All the instructors are great and will get you sweating and shaking and seeing results! Studio is clean, bright, beautiful, and convenient! Lots of parking nearby:) read more

I will start this review by clarifying that I am an instructor at Sculpt, that being said, I am also a client and I LOVE the studio for so many different reasons. 1) Megaformer: This machine has so much great functionality. I know that after a 50 minute class, every muscle will be shaking, I will be sweating and I will feel awesome. Every single time. I get legs, core, upper body, and then a little bit more of all of the above. Every single time. 2) Instructors: Some days I feel like pushing a little harder, and some days my body doesnt have it all, and I am always given modifications. Maybe I use weights, maybe I dont, and both are ok. There is no judgement here from anyone, the instructors just keep pushing me to do a little bit more every time. I dont have to keep up with the person next to me, just keep pushing myself. I am always adjusted and coached to make progressions and adjustments to get the most out of every workout. 3) Time: I am a mom of (2) young kids, I teach classes and I have another job, time is a luxury I dont have. With Sculpt, I know that I can get there, park get a great workout and out in just over an hour. Best use of my time undoubtedly. After a recent snow storm, I needed something to kick start me out of the house, and Sculpt was my first stop. 4) Community: I know the name of everyone who walks into Sculpt. I want to know what is going on in your life, kids, spouse, work, etc, because that is going to affect you every day and I am able to support you through those successes and challenges! Just back from having a baby, come on in for a brief break, just married and want to continue working, lets set your next goal. We are all individual, but working together to feel our best. Studio is clean Convenient class times Unlimited possibilities on the Megaformer Lagree Method keeps me strong Positive reinforcement every day and most importantly The results dont lie! The Lagree Method, Megaformers and Mega-Sculpt love keep me coming back week after week, day after day. I have absolutely never been in better shape than I am right now. I have never been able to do high-impact workouts due to a disability with my feet; so finding this workout was amazing for me. Not only is the workout wonderful- you feel like you really challenged yourself and got a total body workout in 50 minutes...and you're dripping sweat- but Sculpt offers a welcoming environment that encourages you without intimidating you. Other studios in the area like Solidcore that claim to offer a similar workout don't take the time to make sure you have correct form and are not hurting yourself. Furthermore, they drive you so hard, as if everyone in the class is a triathlete, that I felt bad about myself and judged the entire time. No thank you! Thank you Sculpt Studio, thank you to the wonderful Sculpt instructors! I can finally get an awesome workout that is safe and low-impact! read more

As a newbie to the reformer practice, the 7:30pm class on Thursday was absolutely perfect. The instructor was motivating and very attentive. Very much worth the burn and great music to accompany your workout. As horrible as I thought I did, this place was literally a judge-free zone. read more

Sculpt Studio - Loved this class! - Pilates Near Me - Bethesda, Maryland

This is a bit overdue! I moved to the area in December from San Diego and was looking to get back into Lagree pilates on the megaformer. I was staying with a friend the first two and a half months in Gaithersburg and found Sculpt Studio in Bethesda. I made the trek down and loved it! If I hadn't moved to Arlington, I'd still drive on over. I LOVED Mary's classes, her music, teaching style, and how hard she pushes you even when you want to give up. This is a better all-over work out than anything I've ever done -- it's a more total body work out than I had when running marathons and more aerobic strength than traditional pilates or yoga. The slow & controlled strength gives me the upsides that come with kick boxing, cross-fit or tabata style work outs without the potential injuries. I'm gaining more strength and growing leaner than ever and have been injury free for the three years I've been coming. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

This is close to 3 stars, but since Yelp classifies 2 stars as "meh, i've experienced better", I'm going to keep it here. The studio and equipment are clean and lovely, so no complaints there. My issue, and this has been addresses by both clients and the studio in previous reviews, is the intensity. Now don't get me wrong, I get that this is a crazy hard class that demands hard work and gets results. BUT---it's irresponsible to expect a 200 lb man and a 100 pound woman to work on the same level, or springs in this instance. I'm not implying that we should ALWAYS be given an easy way out of an exercise, but in the 4 times I've been there I have NEVER heard the instructor give an option that would allow for the movement to be done CORRECTLY-not just pushed through in a way that could very easily injure. To me, it's crazy to assume that every person in the class has the same capabilities, and not offer a lighter spring setting. The class itself has the capacity to be difficult but DOABLE if it made these adjustments, versus not being able to complete a movement or doing it in a way that's going to injure because you're straining to push the same amount of weight as every single person in the class. On top of that, I have heard one of the instructors shout out to a student "now's not the time to drink water, do those squats!" and it's like, ok, I chose to be here and you're not my 2018 winter olympics coach--if I'm thirsty I'm well within my rights to have a sip of water. Again, I GET IT-it's supposed to be hard. But it needs to be smart too, and I feel like this studio fails in that regard. read more

I was ECSTATIC when I found out my favorite Megaformer workout was available in Bethesda, and knew I had to check out Sculpt Studio immediately. Sculpt is in a great location in downtown Bethesda, and offers numerous class times so it's easy to get your burn on. The teachers, especially studio owner Mary, are phenomenal and will push you to your limit every time. I've enjoyed classes with each teacher I've tried, because no matter what it's NEVER easy! Small class sizes mean that the teachers will get to know you and your body, and that you can't get away with laziness :) They are also great about offering modifications, so that people of all fitness levels can get involved. The workout itself is AMAZING - I absolutely love this workout because of the immediate results you see in your body in terms of strength, tone and flexibility. You get a full body workout in just 50 minutes! Sculpt also offers more focused classes perfect for when you feel like certain parts of your body require a little more attention that day. There's also a small boutique with super cute fitness apparel, which I love to browse in-between classes. All in all, great studio, staff & workout - I HIGHLY recommend adding this to your fitness regimen!! :) read more

I've tried both Sculpt and Solidcore (their chief competitor) several times. I've become something of a regular at Sculpt due to the studio's close proximity to my office, but I like both for different reasons. Before I get into the pluses and minuses of each, know that this is not a workout for the out-of-shape or easily discouraged - no matter what they tell you. It is REALLY hard. And there is almost no potential for modifying the exercises, so you can't half-ass or fake it, like some of us (guilty) might take to doing when we're tired during other types of workouts. At your first go on the megaformer, you'll notice that the 9 other people working out around you are significantly better than you at everything. The first time I went I found the experience incredibly demotivating and vowed never to return. During my second try (my friend lured me in with offers of a free class), I knew what to expect, told myself I wasn't going to be too hard on myself, and ended up liking it a lot. I understand why people get addicted and pay such a high price for this particular form of torture. You really feel how good of a workout you're getting in the moment. Between Sculpt and Solidcore, the actual workouts are super similar in terms of types of exercises - both very challenging, but very effective. Sometimes Sculpt instructors incorporate light cardio, resistance bands, and free weights, which I haven't seen instructors do at Solidcore. Sculpt has less of an encouraging, community-building vibe about it, and the instructors are a lot less intense. I really like that Sculpt keeps its studio very comfortably cool (Solidcore turns up the heat to get you to sweat more) and actually stretches you out at the end of every session. All in all, the megaformer is a great workout if you've got deep enough pockets to handle it. Your preference for Solidcore vs. Sculpt will depend on whether or not you liked to get pushed (Solidcore) or prefer a bit more variety in your workout (Sculpt), or like me, which one happens to be close to your office. read more

Ok, no joke...it's hard...super hard. Dripping with sweat within 1 minute. I was just visiting from out of town. Damon's class worked me in ways I didn't know existed. Let's start this review with I am not new to the megaformer and Lagree, so I won't be saying how hard it is or that I didn't get enough instruction. I went to their main competitor Solidcore for 5 months about 4 - 5 days a week. Decided to try classpass recently, saw Sculpt Studio and got very excited since Solidcore isn't on classpass. I have to say, I've gone a few times and am pretty indifferent toward Sculpt. The first thing I noticed was the the instructors did almost no spring changes and gave little to no corrections and I saw so many students doing the exercise wrong; not enough to hurt themselves but not getting everything out of the workout (squats not low enough, arms not raised enough). Very simple and easy corrections, but the teachers didn't seem too concerned with it. At other studios you would have someone lovingly calling you out over the speaker to get your leg up, move your toes out etc and the workouts there are SO much more challenging because of this. They make you do them the correct way and you do them to failure. I reached failure maybe once during each workout at my Sculpt classes whereas at Solidcore I hit failure so many times I couldn't even count. I will say Jean-Richard was much better at corrections and his class was much more of what I was expecting, I definitely walked out sore from his class and will likely continue his classes. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good workout and a pretty studio, but if I wasn't doing classpass, it's not worth me driving from DC to MD for what turned out to be an amped up pilates reformer workout. read more

Sculpt Pilates Studio is a great lagree method / megaformer studio. If you have not tried a megaformer workout, I highly recommend it. Super efficient workout! The class size is limited to 10 students which guarantees personal instruction. I had my first class with Mary this morning. She gives clear instructions. She was very helpful in correcting my form and recommending modifications for a newer student. The studio is bright and clean. The studio is a quick 10 minute walk from the Bethesda metro. Free parking on the weekends, paid garage or street parking on weekdays. How does Sculpt Pilates compare to solidcore (DC)? I've been to solidcore's Adam Morgan's location about 7-8 times in November/December 2013. The prices are comparable, with new client promotions available at both. Solidcore has three locations in the DC area and a larger team of instructions. I agree with DC Fit Crasher's Review that solidcore has a more intense, athletic vibe. I recommend trying both businesses and seeing which location and studio culture works for you. read more

First and foremost,Sculpt Studio can school other pilates studios and alike in properly welcoming their clients and making them feel at home. This may seem trivial to some but if you want to put serious work in while being genuinely motivated by your instructors in a 150% judgment-free zone,this is your place. Nothing cult-like or some barre place with their charming school-wannabe etiquette here. All you have to bring is you. It is also hands down the best Pilates studio in Bethesda. I'm moving to VA in a month after two years in Montgomery County and I'm legitimately sad about not visiting this place earlier. This is the most challenging Fitness class I've ever taken (and I've done everything except crossfit). After each class I want to curl up in child pose to recover, but in a good way, since I know I've worked out so hard! All 4 instructors I've had were great. Each class covers upper and lower body but the instructors vary them so the class is different each time. All the exercises can be modified, especially if you ask. I'm too busy exercising to compare myself to the other people in the class. If you do happen to look around, even the fittest looking people are working their butts off. There's no competitive or intimidating vibe at all. If anything you're all in it together! read more

Sculpt Classic was one of the best classes I have taken in a very long time. Mary is fabulous-- welcoming, warm, attentive, and motivating. I primarily cycle, swim and run so my core gets neglected. Sculpt got me back to my best shape and put the pep back in my step emotionally and mentally... I LOVE THEM! I honestly got dragged to Sculpt by best friend and was kicking and screaming the whole way (I think mostly based on fear). I am generally pretty fit, but I've always leaned towards less workouty workouts like yoga, ballet, walking etc. the first class was SO HARD but I definitely didn't hate it the way I thought I would and I was pleasantly surprised that the one non-sore spot on my body afterwards was my thighs. I absolutely HATE building bulky muscle in my quads and was paranoid an intense workout like Sculpt would do that. An event I needed to tone up for brought me back and the next thing I knew I was addicted. I have been going 3 times a week for the last 3 weeks and am back to looking and feeling my best. It gave me such a great boost every time I went and had me wanting to make healthier choices elsewhere (eating cleaner and upping my yoga game) I didn't actually realize how low energy and enthusiasm I was until I noticed the positive change. Mary and Lauren (the instructors I have tried so far) kick my butt every single class. They definitely get on you with form and push you to keep moving,but if they didn't I would probably just lay there on the machine :) They are so motivating and never let you give up, but I never feel judged either. These ladies gave me back my best body and are just a generally positive part of my routine...Thank you, Mary and Lauren!!! I literally have zero bad things to say. This was my first megaformer class experience and it was great! It's a very clean pleasant studio in a convenient location. I would recommend Sculpt Studio to anyone who wants to increase strength, flexibility, and fitness in a positive environment. I have been attending classes at Sculpt Studio on a regular weekly basis for over a year and a half. There is something really special about this place. I never considered myself to be an athletic person. I never participated in any sports in my life, ever. I have had many gym memberships and have not regularly gone to the gym. I have had 24 hour gyms in my apartment buildings that I never used. Never have I ever committed to a workout routine in my entire life. So in writing this review, I'm trying to think about what is so special and different about Sculpt Studio that has made someone like me want to commit to this workout routine and regularly attend 3-4 classes a week! Yes, the workout is great. It's intense, and slow, and you can feel the muscles working, and you can also feel the strength that you are building in class and also how it translates to daily life, which makes the workout extremely rewarding and functional. More important than the workout, however, are the instructors. Every instructor at this studio is clearly invested in client success. I personally appreciate how much attention they pay to form, which helps me not only maximize the benefit of each exercise, but also gives me the confidence that I am doing the exercises safely and correctly. I also love the way that the instructors have taught us to adapt the exercises for our own needs. On any given day, I feel that I have the tools to modify exercises as needed and still complete a challenging workout. The instructors here also make the goals manageable. Because the workout is so challenging and because I particularly would never push myself to do a workout this challenging on my own, I am especially grateful for the manner in which instructors have suggested goals that are attainable and manageable, and in turn, I have also gotten better at setting and achieving my own goals for my workouts. Finally, the people who go to the classes here are just wonderful. There seems to be this culture of being kind, genuine, positive, and encouraging, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Not every gym has a culture and community as positive as this. So, I look forward to exercising here for so many reasons-- I've never found a place that has a workout with such intensity and functional benefit, with such fun and invested instructors, and with such a kind community! Working out at Sculpt Studio has not only made me physically stronger and more fit, but it has improved the overall quality of my life. I've been going to Sculpt for about three months now (2-4 times/week), and it is fantastic. I haven't yet taken a class with every single instructor, but those who've taught the classes I go to are wonderful. They are encouraging without being condescending, and will correct you if you need it. Each has a different style, so I encourage people to go to a few different classes before deciding if you like the studio. Some instructors are more lenient and just focus on continued movement, while others will really get on you about technique. If you want more critique (it looks like some people had issues with this in past review), though, they'll all provide it. And they are all receptive to feedback and requests--whether about music choices, the workout, or anything else. Most of the people who go to the classes look like what you'd expect--thin, trim, petite. But that doesn't mean it is exclusive or judgmental. Everyone is there for their own reason, and everyone is encouraging and supportive. I am a (very) large woman, but I don't feel judged or mocked, either by the instructors or the other students. This workout is not for the weak-minded (if you are weak-bodied, it will absolutely make you stronger). It is hard, and if you are doing it right, you are pushing yourself to your absolute limit. But it pays off--since I started tracking my weight about 6 weeks ago, I've lost 15 pounds, with this workout as the primary reason, but the best part is how much stronger I am. The only complaint I have is the price, but there are sometimes discounts available. read more

If you don't want to work harder than you've ever before - don't go to Sculpt Studio. If you don't want to have fun during your workout - don't go to Sculpt Studio. If you don't want your body to become strengthened, lengthened and toned - don't go to Sculpt Studio. Sculpt Studio the place for those who are serious about maintaining and improving their health and wellness. The workouts are low impact which is easy on our joints but also challenging and quite intense. Be prepared to sweat! Don't let the intensity intimidate you - the always attentive instructors will make modifications to accommodate our unique abilities. I've been going to Sculpt Studio consistently for about 18 months and my body has changed completely. I have gone from a size 8 to a size 4; my body is toned in a way it has never been; I have muscle definition especially in my arms (#michelleobama); and I have an amazing energy level. Before I started at Sculpt Studio I didn't even know what an oblique was but now I know that tightening and strengthening them is what made me "bikini ready. " All of the instructors are amazing. The trainer I work out with consistently is Jean Richard. I typically participate in his classes 3-4 times each week. He makes them "fun, fast and easy." I always laugh when he says this because there is nothing easy about his classes except for his positive energy. He shows up at every workout welcoming, enthusiastic and prepared with a killer 50-minute routine. He creates a sense of community and camaraderie within his classes. He challenges his clients to do their best (even with some groaning, cursing and eye rolling) and to never quit. I am impressed by his passion to help clients new and old, his knowledge and his ability to connect with his clients. I remember my first class with him at Sculpt Studio. I could barely perform any of the exercises. My plank looked more like a collapsed bridge. But 18 months later I have improved significantly but look forward to getting so much better. I've been a client at Sculpt Studio since its inception nearly 3 years ago . The classes are always new and innovative, each time I am challenged and leave having worked out my entire body. You won't find scantily clad women in sports bras admiring each other's hair here. The clientele are FRIEDNLY, relatable and from ALL walks of life. They are also fiercly dedicated to this local run business that knows there is more to a good work out than trendy PR. Sculpt Studio has the area's only true Megafromer Machines and follows the Lagree Method. There aren't kinky cables and sticky gears to worry about - the machines glide as do the instructors as they coach you effortlessly and seamlessly from one move to the other with little transition time making the 50 mins feel like 10. All instructors are personable and encouraging making it easy to come back over and over again. The studio is clean and open. You will find it next to Imagination Stage and within a stones throw from ample inexpensive (at certain times free) parking. Several times a year there are rate specials and occasionally challenges pertaining to the number of classes you take in a specified time, which come with some finisher goodies (in addition to a stronger body). If you are looking for a workout that you will not just sustain but that you will enjoy and that will make you noticeably stronger and more fit, Sculpt Studio has the perfect recipe. read more

Like the previous reviewer, I signed up for this studio thinking it was the traditional pilates that I had taken before on the reformer. It is NOT, but that is not a bad thing. It is a serious work-out though and I had a lot of trouble keeping up during my first class. Their philosophy is for you to do as much as you can and take breaks as you need them ... you will get stronger and be able to do more after a few weeks. I mix in these work-outs with other things I like to do ... and yes, they are right, I am getting stronger. Although not what I initially expected, it is an amazing work-out. My only suggestion for new-comers is to ask the instructor to call out interim moves for those not able to do everything. Some instructors do this and some do not... and it can be intimidating for newbies. read more

This is the one place that I miss going to since moving to a new city. Mary and all the other instructors are challenging in their own way and I always left feeling like I got sh*t done. The small class size is great and you'll never feel intimidated because everyone is there to suffer together (in a good way). The instructors will actually take the time to correct your form and are always welcoming, regardless of your skill level. If you're looking to cross train and build your strength, Sculpt Studio is absolutely the way to go. I swear by this place and I'm legitimately upset that there aren't any studios in Chicago, where I now live, that are up to par as Sculpt Studio. read more

Let me first start off by saying Sculpt Studio is no joke. I have taken lots of Pilates classes in the past and expected this studio to be like every other one I have been to. I was completely wrong. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by a very energetic/enthusiastic woman, Mary, along with fun work out music and intimidating mega reformers. Since it was my first time, Mary took the time to learn my name, ask about any injuries and introduce me to the machine. The class started and Mary was right by my side helping me out. I was nervous that I would be thrown onto this machine and have no clue what was going on. That was not the case at all. The class sizes are perfect for lots of one on one attention from the instructors. So whether you are a beginner or have been doing this for a while, the instructor will always be there accommodating your needs. I have now done quite a few classes and find myself almost addicted ! The work out is an intense full body work out leaving you energetic and wanting to sign up for another class. Again, the instructors can adjust the machine for you to make if more challenging or ease it up for you! My only advice is to make sure you get online and sign up for classes early.. They do fill up fast! If you can't find a time that would work for you, the studio is great at working with you and others to create a new time. They are very open to helping their customers. read more

I come to sculpt studio 5 times a week. It is the only workout I do, and I am in the best shape of my life. The instructors are great and know exactly how to challenge you. Your muscles will shake but nothing beats the the feeling you feel after this amazing work out. I cannot recommend taking class here enough. :) read more

I have been going to Sculpt for almost a year now and can honestly say it is the best work out I have ever done. I've tried all kinds of other studios and types of classes, but Sculpt has the best instruction and total body strength training workout by far. I suffer from chronic back pain, so I have to be incredibly careful with my form - and high impact work outs are out of the question. But Sculpt fits the bill perfectly - strengthens my core, never ever hurts my back, and hits every muscle in my body in 50 minutes. I went to this studio since I had tried the reformer a few times and thought it would be similar. I was totally wrong about that and should've read more about the studio, as well as other Yelp reviews. While I certainly cannot give a complete review since I left 5 minutes into the class, I can give my impression: The studio itself is gorgeous and clean; the instructor(s) are very nice and helpful. I am doing ClassPass and of all the classes I have been to so far, I got the sense that this is a very high energy and high intensity work-out, which is not something I was really looking for. And this is the only class I've ever been to where it felt like a total mismatch. If you're into music and instructor blasting over speakers (pretty much have to shout to ask instructor a question), fast-pace, and are not looking for modifications, then this is your studio. I had let them know about a shoulder injury I have but the very first exercise we did was a plank that put a lot of stress on it. Rather than sticking it out and distracting the rest of the class (who all seemed to know what they were doing) I decided to bail. I think this studio would benefit greatly from more intro level, slower paced classes. I only saw one per week on their schedule. Summary: if you are in stellar shape already, like a super high energy work-out, and have experience on a mega-former, then definitely worth checking out this studio. If you're like me, want a slightly slower pace, need a modification, etc. you might want to visit first. Of the classes I've tried through ClassPass (Bar Method, Balance Studio, Potomac Pilates, NextPhase Group Exercise, etc.) this one seemed way more intense and not as easy to just "wing" it. read more

As a workout enthusiast and a avid runner I am always looking for the best workout to push me to my limits and compliment my running. When I found sculpt studio and began using the megareformer a year ago I immediately was hooked. It is the only workout I have found that continues to challenge me and leaves me sore. I take Sculpt megareformer classes 4-5 times a week and after just two weeks saw results. Combining the sculpt classes and running I feel I am in my best shape thus far. I have tried everything from crossfit to soul cycle and nothing has kept me coming back for more like the megareformer classes have at sculpt studio. While the workout is definitely though and pushes you to failure, the instructors are with you to the end and make you feel empowered. One of my favorite instructors is the owner of the studio, Mary, who is always encouraging and positive. She will not only make you feel warm and welcome but will also leave your abs and butt tight and sculpted. If you want an effective workout with great instructors and a clean, cool, elegant studio you have to try Sculpt Studio. read more
