Adding onto the bounty of good reviews below. I started doing yoga at home to find peace and time for myself in a hectic and stressful life. The random ten minute videos on YouTube were fantastic starters, but I realized that I wanted something more so I found Grace, a studio local to me. The first session was free, so it was a good way to get introduced to the place and the people there. So let's start there. I almost had enough time to say hello to the receptionist when she recognized that I was a new face, smiled, and introduced herself to me. She offered a tour to me, which was friendly, but I was surprised that another attendee offered to take me on a tour herself! It was clear to me then that the friendliness was contagious. I really appreciate that the equipment is available at no cost. Having the mats, the blocks, the bands, and even blankets there meant that I could participate at the same level that more experienced yogis could. This first session, I rolled out in the back as Jade started speaking. The whole experience was wonderful, but something she said stood out to me: when someone's phone rang and they apologized, Jade responded with a smile and said "Don't be sorry. This just means someone's thinking of you." And then I knew that the community was eager to share their wisdom and peace with others. On the community board (which highlights members, friends, and local services) I saw that the first month was available for a reduced price, and after such a wonderful first experience, I knew I was going to sign up. I'm almost done with this month and have practiced under different instructors but have found them all incredibly welcoming. I also appreciate the ability to participate from home, which I've done on several occasions, and an equal level of engagement from the instructor. I've had a really positive experience thus far and am excited for many more months of good yoga and community! read more

I've attended several classes at this studio. Lenore's sunrise strength class was a great way to wake up my muscles while watching the sun come up through the studio's picture windows. I've also taken rise and rest yoga with Lenore. This was a relaxing way to wind down from a busy day. I recently competed a yoga strength class with Amy. This was an all-level class and she offered us options to modify or intensify each move. Amy played a nice mix of songs from her phone during the class; however, the music kept being interrupted by notification dings, which was distracting. Overall, I found Grace Studio to be a decent place for a yoga workout. The studio is equipped with mats, weights, blocks, resistance bands, and bolsters. Instructors offer verbal assists rather than hands-on adjustments for yoga moves. Instructors are welcoming, the studio is bright and inviting, and classes are not crowded. read more

I attended a 7am strength class while in town for a conference, and was so happy to have stumbled upon the studio. The class was not too intense, but a wonderful workout. Getting to watch the sunrise and the city wake up through the giant windows was a treat. The studio owner and woman working the front desk were both welcoming and kind. They offer a delicious tea at the end of class, and have a small boutique with cute gifts such as candles and bath salts. Mats were free to borrow. I would absolutely come here again. read more

This is a late review, but this is a beautiful studio with gorgeous natural lighting. I'll always be grateful for this studio for introducing me to Pilates. I have done Pilates and privates here, and both were good experiences. If you can swing the mid day Wednesday Pilates class, it's worth it! I did privates with Delores, and she's amazing! The workouts were very creative and well structured. She's also in great shape which was great motivation. I recommend this place for a relaxing atmosphere and a strength based workout that's often a lot more challenging that it appears. read more

Grace is located in a suite close by the McDonalds on Colesville Road in Downtown Silver Spring. I attended a handful of classes here since they are available on Classpass and close to my office. The studio is very spacious and brand new. The checkin desk is right at the front as soon as you enter, staff have always been friendly and greeted me when I arrived. I love that yoga mats, blocks, straps, weights and blankets are available free of charge to all students. My biggest gripe was that there is not a water fountain in the studio, water bottles are available for purchase for $1. They should really consider adding one and this place would be perfect! There are two bathrooms in the back that could be used as a changing room as well as cubbies available to hold your belongings. I took the Yoga Flow Mixed Levels and Strength courses so far. The Yoga Flow Mixed Levels course is great for yogis of all levels, Suzanne was my instructor. She was clear with her directions and gave me a great workout. The Strength course was my favorite of the two, you get a full body workout through yoga poses, strength training and cardio. My instructor was Amy, I loved her positive encouragement throughout the class :) She was very intuitive to my needs and came by to give me adjustments throughout the workout when she saw I was struggling too much and close to possibly injuring myself -_- I will definitely continue coming here and encourage others to give this place a try! read more

Their Pilates class is the best one I've found. Lenore is an awesome instructor. The studio is in a great location (across the street from Wayne parking garage) and always clean and welcoming. Their prices are extremely reasonable and the mixed nuts are a nice feature! I also like that they provide all the props and don't ever run out. My one complaint is the size of the classes. The room is large enough to fit everyone, but there is often not enough time for instructor adjustment with so many people in the room. read more

4.5 stars! Really enjoyed my first class at Grace via Classpass. [I didn't take advantage, but your first class is free if you book directly.] The size is large and not cramped at all in a building right next to Silver Spring metro. Sign in was super easy. They have everything available to you if you forget - mats, straps, blocks, weights, etc. Water bottles are $1 at the front desk and are cold. I would say I'm an advanced beginner yogi and took the heated flow class - I found it was the perfect level and would not recommend to 100% beginners. They did not go through a lot of form and expected you how to get in and out of positions - again, perfect level for where I am at and even beyond. They do have a 101 class if you are a 100% beginner. I felt very welcomed by the front desk staff and Jade has a great attitude/spirit. I could also tell this was a great community - many people talked after class and caught up with each other, where the majority of classes I've been in everyone packs up quietly and leaves immediately. I would definitely recommend and return! Post yoga tea and snacks are a really nice addition. One star off - because it's such a large class, it's hard to get any adjustments or feedback. read more

Editing my review after 3 years of regular practice at this studio. The owners, Michelle and Lenore, have worked really hard to create a close-knit community -- the atmosphere is always welcoming. Teachers are knowledgeable, each with their own style -- some will give hands-on assists and some won't, but in all cases the verbal cues are thorough enough to ensure proper alignment/safety. I also took their Yoga Teacher Training and finished the course feeling prepared to teach classes of my own. *** Pros: staff and teachers are super nice. Classes are a good work-out. Free snacks and tea make for a nice post-practice treat. Cons: no individual corrections or hands-on adjustments. If you want to improve your practice, this is not the studio for you. read more

My husband bought me a 1-month unlimited-class membership for Christmas, and I admit-- I was skeptical. But this place has been my saving grace (pardon the pun) ever since. Especially as a mom to a toddler... being a member here has given me the "me" time I was sorely lacking-- 'cause let's face it, it's fun to surf the 'net, but I don't feel like a million bucks after I do. -Great instructors, including Lenore (one of the owners), Jennifer, Daisy and every other instructor I've had. -Really, really easy system for reserving (or canceling) a spot in each class (and you can make recurring reservations, if, for example, you always do Pilates on Wednesday at 12). -Convenient location, especially if you live or work in DTSS (practically on top of the Metro). -They have about everything you need-- water, towels, even tampons in the bathroom (IJS). -They're just really, really nice-- and responsive. Over and above. I hurt my back recently and missed 2 weeks of my current month, and asked if I could extend it a bit. No problem. I'm going to be mad I just wrote this review, because they're a small studio, and I don't want my classes to get too crowded! But they totally deserve all the good publicity they can get. read more

When I started coming here I was very new to the yoga world. This studio made me feel SO at ease. All of the staff and teachers were incredibly friendly, the studio was clean and calming, and you really do get what you pay for. They offer blankets, blocks, straps, matts, towels, water, and snacks free with the price of your class. Depending on the teacher you get, they do help with alignment and they will stay after class to talk to you about any questions you may have. I also LOVE their online system for scheduling/canceling classes. It couldn't be easier to use. They're great! If i could ask them to modify two tiny things it would be: 1. make the room hotter for the heated yoga flow class (I doubt the room was at the stated 85 degrees, it felt much cooler than that) 2. offer more level 2 classes in the evenings. The staff at Grace really pay attention to your form and help you grow. When I first started, I was so off balance and not such of movement. All the instructors take time to actually show you correct posture and help you grow at your own pace. Suzanne is wonderful! read more

Pros-very clean studio, nice size space. Owners are very nice. Cons-some of the teachers are very nice/friendly others should take direction from some of the friendlier ones (Sun, Lika, Jade, Lenore are great as well as sub Naomi). Not many hands on corrections/assists by most teachers. Don't think I will be going back after my classes run out, had a poor experience recently with a poor attitude instructor in August of 2017 read more

I have taken two classes (Strength with Amy L and Barre with Amy W) at Grace and found both instructors extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I couldn't do much in the strength class as I am in post knee surgery recovery but still enjoyed myself. Barre is much more suited to my re-hab needs!My only complaint is the hour. I am an early bird and a 9:30 class is way too late in the day for me. Still - I'll be back! read more

I love this yoga studio. It's the #1 thing I miss about living in Silver Spring. The owners (Michelle and Lenore) are so nice, as are the other teachers and students. It has a real community feel. The classes are suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners. The all levels classes provide options for everyone - so you can choose how far to deepen your practice. There is also a really amazing advanced class on Sunday for those wanting to learn arm balances/inversions/cool transitions or just deepen your practice. read more

This is a very well run studio with a friendly staff and the teachers are excellent. The owners have created an environment where everyone feels welcome and nurtured. Grace has a variety of classes ranging from yin to flow - each taught with a calm professionalism that connects with all in the room. Unlike most yoga studios mat, blocks, blankets, tea and a snack come with the classes which is a refreshing change. My only issue is sometimes it's a bit too cold. read more

I attended an amazing pilates class at Grace and I will certainly be back! I believe I was the only new student during my visit and I still felt very welcomed. The instructor assisted me but didn't "over assist". I felt very comfortable and not like the odd one out which is something I very much value in a studio. The workout itself was great! I am a newbie to the Yoga world. I walked into Grace to re-introduce my self to yoga. The studio is well-lit and comfortable. Snacks, Tea and mats are provided free of charge. I attended the Yoga Flow class. I did breakout into a sweat during the warrior poses. Perhaps the class was a bit more advanced than a beginner yoga class. I would have appreciated a bit more instruction on a few poses that were more advance. Probably just asking the instructor ahead of class would be beneficial for newbies. read more

Beautiful studio that offers a nice range of classes with fantastic teachers. I am a beginner yogi, and this studio offers a great variety of classes that are accessible to me, but also challenging, including yoga basics, mixed-level yoga flow, pilates, barre and strength. There are also several classes that are intended for intermediate/advanced students that I haven't tried. Having pilates and barre at the same studio is a huge asset. And the studio itself is very clean, airy, with great light from the huge windows overlooking Colesville Rd. It is a pleasure to practice here. read more

Beautiful studio space - light, open and airy - and the teachers are terrific. I've done both the yoga basics classes (Mon and Wed evenings) and both teachers really paid attention to the fact that most of us were beginners (or hadn't practiced yoga in a long time). I would recommend either for anyone just starting out. The Saturday morning pilates class is excellent! Best bet for parking is side streets (Cameron and Ramsey) or the garage on Cameron just across from the diner. read more

Really love this studio. It is a little expensive but like another review says you really get a lot for your money. Also as far as hands on adjustment, I definitely have had instructors that give those so that must be a class by class sort of thing. I find Grace to be the most calming place I've ever done yoga. There is a peaceful mood in the studio. People who work there are very helpful as well. Also, I was afraid to do heated yoga as I don't like being very hot but the class was heated at about 85 degrees and was totally doable. My top class recommendation is Michelle Russ's heated yoga flow at 6pm on Wednesday's. One of my fave classes in the DMV area. I always feel great after and am glad I went! read more

Just started here. I'm physically active but a yoga newbie, willing to try this to correct some flexibility and mobility issues I have. Instructors I have had are friendly and helpful. Location is a nice, clean little studio in downtown. It's surprisingly (and pleasantly) quiet, given its location, which his convenient to the metro if you need that. Check is in easy. There are a few cubby holes to store your stuff. All the equipment you need is provided. It's a little pricey but so is everything else in the area. The studio can get crowded but that just goes to show how popular the place is. I plan to keep going. read more

The studio is very nice and tidy. There are drinks, snacks, and equipment offered for every student. Mats, weights, towels, blankets, resistance bands, yoga blocks are all readily available at no extra cost. There is no nickel and diming here, you get everything you pay for. All of the instructors are very nice, as are the owners. The instruction itself is pretty detailed and while there may not be much hands-on instruction there are always verbal suggestions and variations on all the poses that are meant to allow the student to adapt their routine to the instruction.
