A few months after becoming a member, I tried spinning classes, which were fun and challenging. I…read moresoon noticed the seats, set parallel to the floor, didn't fit my anatomy. I was sliding forward uncomfortably. I brought a wrench, raised the front of (just)one seat a notch, and then it didn't feel as if I were struggling to stay on. I chose the narrowest, least padded style, similar to a racing bike saddle. The owner told me I was the only one who preferred that kind. There used to be a 'needs fixing' sheet for members to list equipment problems. Some had written complaints that the bike seats were 'tipped.' So, the staff flattened all the seats. I went to Lee, the manager, and asked politely if I could have one seat (just one seat!) adjusted to my comfort. I was met with an expression of surprise and mild annoyance. Denied. The classes were never full so nobody would've been forced to use a 'tipped' seat. But even if all the bikes in the spinning studio had been taken, there were four more in other parts of the gym, which I never saw in use simultaneously. One seat on any of those could've been adjusted without forcing anyone to use a 'tipped' seat. And of course, the seat posts are interchangeable. So, on it went: I'd adjust a single saddle, a staff member would flatten it, and the charade would begin anew. I politely raised the issue with Ruby, the owner; she said she'd put a note on a saddle to not flatten it. A week later she reneged, implying Lee wouldn't allow it. The reasoning: If one was changed, then all could be changed and Lee wasn't willing to deal with that. Denied again. BUT, he accommodated all those who complained about 'tipped' seats. That's not fair. He could've easily worked with me and gotten to 'yes.' The seats are adjustable for a reason. The entire business is BASED on human anatomy, including its--ahem--variations. I was 'nudged' by the former manager shortly after starting my membership. Under my original 4-star rating on this page, she added a note asking me what it would take to add a fifth star. Consistent, prolonged and respectful treatment as a valued member, I would've told her. But, my reasonable requests were repeatedly ignored. A couple of the staff(K and K) seemed to view me as demanding, difficult, and treated me with veiled hostility. And then there's this: The two managers, Lee & Jen, plus Lee's wife, wrote 5-star reviews on this page. These are conflict of interest violations per Google usage rules. I originally wanted to try out a class at this location today and so I signed up for it last week with no problem. Later that day I get an email from a staff member asking me follow up questions and asking to set up a phone call or else my class would not be confirmed (even though I had already received a confirmation email). I thought this seemed unnecessary since they already ask you to come in 30 min prior to your class to fill out intake forms (which will probably ask the same questions she planned to ask over email/phone). Nevertheless, I answered the email questions and one of them was "why did you choose this location?" I explained that it is a convenient location to stop at on my way home from work. A few days prior to the class I get a text from that same staff member asking if I would like to sign up for a free introductory class, which as I mentioned, I already had! I ignore the text. Yesterday (the day before my class) I get a text to confirm that if I will be attending the class to which I reply, yes. TODAY, on my day off and the day I planned to go to my class which was scheduled at 11:30 am, I get woken up to a text before 7:00 am from the same staff member stating that introductory free classes are only allowed to be given to local residents and that I can only attend if I pay the $28. It's quite frustrating and shocking that after all those emails and texts prior to the day of my class they did not check my address to see it did not fall within the location boundaries and instead decide to tell me this the DAY OF my class. Long story short, if you are able to attend another location, please do so as it is apparent the staff is lacking experience in their customer service skills!

The random ten minute videos on YouTube were fantastic starters, but I realized that I wanted something more so I found Grace, a studio local to me. The first session was free, so it was a good way to get introduced to the place and the people there. So let's start there. I almost had enough time to say hello to the receptionist when she recognized that I was a new face, smiled, and introduced herself to me. She offered a tour to me, which was friendly, but I was surprised that another attendee offered to take me on a tour herself! It was clear to me then that the friendliness was contagious. I really appreciate that the equipment is available at no cost. Having the mats, the blocks, the bands, and even blankets there meant that I could participate at the same level that more experienced yogis could. This first session, I rolled out in the back as Jade started speaking. The whole experience was wonderful, but something she said stood out to me: when someone's phone rang and they apologized, Jade responded with a smile and said "Don't be sorry. This just means someone's thinking of you." And then I knew that the community was eager to share their wisdom and peace with others. On the community board (which highlights members, friends, and local services) I saw that the first month was available for a reduced price, and after such a wonderful first experience, I knew I was going to sign up. I'm almost done with this month and have practiced under different instructors but have found them all incredibly welcoming. I also appreciate the ability to participate from home, which I've done on several occasions, and an equal level of engagement from the instructor. I've had a really positive experience thus far and am excited for many more months of good yoga and community!

I've also taken rise and rest yoga with Lenore. This was a relaxing way to wind down from a busy day. I recently competed a yoga strength class with Amy. This was an all-level class and she offered us options to modify or intensify each move. Amy played a nice mix of songs from her phone during the class; however, the music kept being interrupted by notification dings, which was distracting. Overall, I found Grace Studio to be a decent place for a yoga workout. The studio is equipped with mats, weights, blocks, resistance bands, and bolsters. Instructors offer verbal assists rather than hands-on adjustments for yoga moves. Instructors are welcoming, the studio is bright and inviting, and classes are not crowded.

He once made a joke about his pregnant wife being a broken sandwich maker and when no one laughed, he doubled down and re-explained the "joke". Very cool, dude. The owner wrote workouts for himself and himself only and became oddly competitive with anyone he thought he *should* be able to beat. Once watched him lift way too much weight, hurt his back, and rack himself all in a span of 20 seconds all because another dude was lifting more than him. Hilarious that he also harassed another member for wearing a weight belt but, yanno, break ya spine because ego. Super embarrassing for a gym owner. The gym itself was ok - equipment was hella used and I had the odd suspicion that he had no plans to update anything. Classes were tight and crammed and honestly, he was not a great coach for anyone more experienced. Dude was completely checked out so, again, not surprised this place closed.

They welcome absolutely anyone, regardless of your fitness level! There are plenty of people that are members whom are extremely new to fitness and then there are others whom are natural athletes, there is a great mixture of all fitness levels and it's an extremely encouraging and positive environment. The owners and the coaches are all very knowledgeable. The facility has plenty of equipment and is very well kept. If you have any hesitation about trying out crossfit, I'd stay quit that hesitation nonsense and just do it. The coaches and members here are all great people and provide endless support.
