I logged into my account and realized that my previous class package was grandfathered in and I still had classes to use! Since I don't like to waste things, I've decided to use them up at this location since it's closer to home. I'm a big fan of their Hot Power Fusion (think low intensity poses in 100+ degree heat and high humidity) and Yoga Sculpt classes (high intensity yoga mixed with strength training and weights). Most instructors have been great at cueing and some playlists are better than others but either way, I'm getting a good workout in so I can't complain too much. They also offer C1 which is a beginner/intro to yoga class as well as C2 which is an intermediate to advanced yoga class (think inversions and more fast paced flows!). You can pre-book your class through their app or online to guarantee your spot. However, I would recommend coming into the studio at least 10-15 minutes beforehand because depending on what class it is, it can get pretty packed and you want ample time to setup your space and get a good spot. They have mats for rental as well as boxed water for purchase in case you forget your water. Although I've learned how to workout independently, I do miss the sense of community in a live class as well! This location is in Fairfax Corner near the Potbelly. You'll have to enter through the double doors and go upstairs to the studio.

I recently got back into CorePower and am really enjoying it!…read more My favorite class is Yoga Sculpt, a combination of hot yoga, cardio, and weights. Bring a towel because you'll definitely sweat! I also like CorePower Strength X (CSX), a 45-minute strength training class with cardio and circuits. It's quick, effective, and leaves me feeling sore in the best way. Parking is easy in the mornings, with two-hour spots nearby and plenty of spaces by the movie theater.

Epiphany is a classical pilates studio with small group format. We have done reformer, tower, jump board, and circuit classes. Each of the instructors is very professional, provides good cues, alternatives for every level from novice to advanced. They've recently begun offering a series focused on the needs of perimenopausal and menopausal women that is fantastic. All the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful throughout each series of movements. The space is clean, beautiful, and easy to access. I appreciate the small, intimate class sizes, as they allow for more personal attention and guidance. In my opinion, the best part about this studio is the variety of classes available, catering to different levels and experiences. My first class was a prenatal series, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and it made me feel welcomed into the studio community. The best part is the owner she is extremely knowledgeable and personable but most of all informative, always attuned to the individual needs of each class, and is just a wealth of knowledge of her pilates expertise. From Profesional ballet dancers to new moms this class. I've seen an older community of women who were so strong and ushered me in to challenging movements alongside given such encouragement. The only draw back I wish there were more class times for mommas I just can't get enough..

Also, bending and stretching my body in to multiple scary looking poses was not my idea of relaxing/workout/finding my inner self/ etc. But having been learned and practiced yoga with Gaurav has completely changed that for me. He is the epitome of what a true yoga instructor/guru should be. He help me confront my prejudices/ fears of yoga with a calm and balanced approach by gently introducing me to the various poses and breathing techniques! He was aware of my limitations and worked with that so that I gradually became comfortable with all the breathing exercises and asanas without heading to the door! Not to say that I did not feel the physical pains of using my body and muscle groups in new ways, but the "high" at the end of each session was worth the effort. I looked forward to my next session at the end of each session! Gaurav is well versed in all the techniques and shares his knowledge in easy to follow steps. I highly recommend him as an instructor especially if you have never done yoga before or are not sure on what the correct techniques are. For the experienced yogis, Gaurav would be a perfect coach to take your training to the next level. His knowledge of food options to go along with the yoga routines was very helpful too!

He created a meal plan for me and made suggestions on healthy foods that I could eat on a daily basis, as well as when I ate outside. He is motivating and encouraging. Gaurav is very professional and was always happy to answer my questions in person and over email. I highly recommend his services.

I even drive 45 minutes after work to get here (it's that good)! The instructors are unparalleled- making class engaging throughout (especially the sculpt classes)! The manager, Jami, and the receptionist team are very welcoming and are happy to answer any questions you have. They have classes for every level- and encourage modifications and making the class align with your specific needs. They offer Sculpt & Flow classes (strength training), Signature Hot, Power, Restore, Slow Flow, Mix, Mobility, and 101 classes. They've also been offering themed classes, which are so much fun, and clinics- which I have yet to try but hope to soon! Located in the Burke Centre Shopping Center with plenty of free parking. If you're looking to add to your fitness or recovery journey, consider trying out YogaSix Burke!

I met the GM who knew who I was by name (guess because I'm new to the location) and she was very friendly. I took Sculpt and Flow with Julie. It was a challenging class but felt very barre-inspired. She recommended medium weights for the entire workout. At a few points, because I'm focused on strength, I did things to make moves my own. Of all the Sculpt & Flow classes I've taken where they open with "this is not yoga with weights," this one felt most like yoga with weights. It was a good class but different from the format at my favorite location. Not in a bad way, just different. The music was okay. There were a couple cute pop bops but nothing that hyped me up. They use disposable wipes here, too, which was different for me. My only real complaint here was the situation with the lights. I LOVE the strategic use of different colored lights for the warm up, WERK, and cool down. We had the boring regular lights in class the entire time until the cool down. Anyway, I'd consider coming back. Out of other NOVA locations, this would be ranked number three out of four for me based on the class but that is really all according to preference and the format you like best. I'd def recommend checking it out!
