Simply there is no observable management supervision of this part of the facility. I wish there were a true stretching area. The closet size space is simply inadequate. The stretch pad provided by the gym is at least 18 months old, soiled and disintegrating. They have a small room adjacent to the the larger gym area that could be used, but is currently off limits and partially used for storage. They have plenty of machines. Lots. They are reasonably well maintained. Some of the equipment and hand weights in the free weight area are RUSTY. The current benches are worn and should be replaced. All the negatives aside I really like this place. Is is very clean. The very small staff is quite friendly, but appatrently powerless to implement change. I have always had plenty of room to work on occasion I have been the only person exercising for extended periods of time.There are so few people using the fitness area I fear it will be closed. The few trainers-two of which I have used-are knowledgable, friendly and encouraging. They have access to a completly separate set of "Trainers Only" equipment that by observation is well maintained. So if you are searching for an under used, well equipped, well lighted and clean and inexpensive fitness facility, then this is your spot,

The training programs they write are based on years of study and research and they individualize it to a persons needs. They first give you an assessment in which they take videos and analyze specific movement patterns to find strengths and weaknesses. They then use the information to design an intelligent, safe and highly effective program to you or your athlete the competitive edge. One was already in college and just wanted to get fit, the other was a swimmer who was getting ready for his senior year in high school. Their training was instrumental in his getting personal bests during high school swim and helped get him on a DIII college swim team and he was sad when he finally had to give up SAPT to go to college. Our daughter continued to get ready for her club volleyball season, but suffered an ACL tear an had to have full reconstruction surgery in January of 2021. She was back at SAPT only about two weeks later, with the doctor's blessing, and they worked on her upper body and healthy leg. When she was able to start PT on her knee, Hunter, her SAPT coach, was able to work with that PT so the PT worked on flexibility while SAPT worked on strength. She shocked the doctor at her check ups, as there is usually significant atrophy in the injured leg but she hardly had any. She came back stronger than ever, thanks to her trainers at SAPT, and had an amazing u17's club volleyball season and it looks like she'll be playing DI! I would highly recommend SAPT for any athlete, or anyone who just wants to get into shape!!!!

    I have had a life long aversion to Yoga - from the days of watching my mom do her yoga routines to…read morethe mushrooming of Yoga in to multitudes of flavors and being the cool thing to do. Also, bending and stretching my body in to multiple scary looking poses was not my idea of relaxing/workout/finding my inner self/ etc. But having been learned and practiced yoga with Gaurav has completely changed that for me. He is the epitome of what a true yoga instructor/guru should be. He help me confront my prejudices/ fears of yoga with a calm and balanced approach by gently introducing me to the various poses and breathing techniques! He was aware of my limitations and worked with that so that I gradually became comfortable with all the breathing exercises and asanas without heading to the door! Not to say that I did not feel the physical pains of using my body and muscle groups in new ways, but the "high" at the end of each session was worth the effort. I looked forward to my next session at the end of each session! Gaurav is well versed in all the techniques and shares his knowledge in easy to follow steps. I highly recommend him as an instructor especially if you have never done yoga before or are not sure on what the correct techniques are. For the experienced yogis, Gaurav would be a perfect coach to take your training to the next level. His knowledge of food options to go along with the yoga routines was very helpful too!

During my sessions with him, he taught me how to do the yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayamas). He taught the exercises according to my comfort level, until I could get the technique right. I also had a Nutrional Counseling session with Gaurav. He created a meal plan for me and made suggestions on healthy foods that I could eat on a daily basis, as well as when I ate outside. He is motivating and encouraging. Gaurav is very professional and was always happy to answer my questions in person and over email. I highly recommend his services.

I started in April of 2023 and as of today Jan 19th 2024 I am down 50lbs and have lost 3 dress sizes! The instructors are there because they want to be. They are encouraging, fun, upbeat and have become like family. They push you when you need it and always have an encouraging word when you are struggling to get that last rep in before the buzzer. The other client's are also outstanding and miss you when you are not around. If you are looking for a gym that caters to all ages, sizes and fitness levels then this is the place. I had been going to the drop-in…read moreclasses at Oak Marr Rec Center for about a year (4-5x/week), when my favorite classes started to get so crowded that I had to show up 15-20 minutes early just to get in (and still I'd have to fight for space on the floor) and eventually I pulled something in my back and had to stop exercising for several months. Empower Fitness has everything I wasn't getting at Oak Marr: small, uncrowded classes (that you reserve a spot for); classes on holidays (Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day...); workout routines that change regularly and often; and, most importantly, attentive instructors. They teach the proper form for each exercise and keep an eye on you during class, giving suggestions and encouragement. All fitness levels are welcome, and the instructors provide modifications to accommodate ability and injuries. I've been going 12x/month for a year (4-5x/week during the summer) and I am still injury-free and looking forward to every class.
