Small group weight training is top notch, with tailored workouts for to meet your physical (and arguably mental) health needs. Trainers are unbelievably competent and supportive! I have significant health concerns, and I truly believe that this gym is part of the reason I stay well. Also, they have really cultivated community, so I have become friendly with so many of the people who train alongside with me. This gym is a gift to yourself. I hope you check it out soon!

I've been a member of UA since Feb 2016. At the time, I was on the cusp on turning 50 (OK, so you…read moreall know my age now!) and I knew it was (past) time to get serious about my health/fitness. I had done exercise programs on and off (mostly off) over the years. I knew how important exercise was but I hated it. It was either boring, or it wasn't convenient, or it was hard to stay motivated. Today, I have never felt stronger or more confident. In fact, to my huge surprise, when my job was causing serious stress, all I could think was, "I NEED a workout today." I have never said that in my life! The coaches at UA are top-notch professionals. They take their work seriously, celebrate with you, and are encouraging. I look forward to seeing the coaches -- they are energetic, friendly, supportive, and have taught me a tremendous amount. This contributes greatly to me staying motivated to keep coming back and improving. Getting a new program each month also helps stave off the typical boredom of a "regular" gym. Something else that was unexpected but great nonetheless -- there is a wide variety among UA's members (age, gender, physical shape, natural ability, etc.). I am inspired by and feel comfortable around my fellow UA-ers b/c they each face their own challenges. I highly recommend you give UA a shot. (The also have a location in Sterling, VA.)

Specially in the summer since they are allowing the teenagers to come for free (they come to socialize and in groups which hogs the machines). Dear Customer Service Team,…read more I am writing to express my strong frustration regarding the High School Summer Pass Program. Despite your previous suggestion that I contact customer service directly to discuss these issues, it appears the broader feedback from paying members is being ignored. I urge you to review the numerous negative online comments and reviews about this program. Paying customers are deeply frustrated, and the claim that these high school participants are supervised does not reflect reality. There is a lack of basic etiquette and policy enforcement; for example, students frequently occupy machines while distracted by their phones. Furthermore, the safety programs you mentioned are not visible. As someone who visits the gym five to six times a week, I rarely see staff walking the floor, other than for occasional light dusting or refilling disinfectant bottles. The overall cleanliness and oversight of the facility need immediate attention. Before more loyal customers cancel their memberships, please review public feedback and take actionable steps to address these concerns.

The selection of gym equipment is standard with some goodies sprinkled in. It is nothing to tell your homegirls about though. I find the mixed sauna rooms to be unenjoyable. I would prefer how other locations have a sauna room in the bathroom for each gender. My main problem with the gym is the cleanliness. The women's restroom is always nasty. Toilet paper everywhere that doesn't get cleaned up, seats greasy or sometimes wet. One of the toilets is currently broken. The door on one stall barely opens while another one barely closes. I workout multiple times a week at different times, it doesn't matter. It is always a mess. Sometimes it's slightly stinky. Floors are often wet and slippery. I don't think the bathroom gets cleaned as often as it should.

If you miss the cliques from high school and want to be fat shamed by an instructor who's in worse…read moreshape than you? Then you've come to the right place! I've been going here for five years. The owners have gone through instructors like a 90 minute class goes through wipes. They have come to the point where they are shipping in coaches from DC and MD. Where do I begin? You walk in and the front desk is too busy talking about what's in their milkshake to greet you. Then you're waiting around a cluttered lobby with two piles of lost and found. The decorations from Christmas are still up. They have 39 spots for the class but only 4 coat hooks. The water fountain spits out warm water which tastes like it was run through the gym shorts of the previous class. Suggestion, it might be time to clean out those pipes! The class itself is a popularity contest. The regulars (people who suck up to the coaches and assume they can bully other class members) like to talk at a decibel higher than the music to update each other on which pre school is the best, which Range Rover car salesman has the hots for them and which "Starbies" they are going to after class. The workouts have gotten more repetitive and the music sucks. Please avoid and wait till the next fad gym comes through.

It was just that I needed a new gym soon, as my old membership had just ended. I have a good feeling about these guys, so when the time is right, I'd like to give them another try.

I have been a member of this gym for several years, but unfortunately, the quality of management…read morehas significantly declined under Mr. Love. I recently had a very concerning experience after leaving an honest negative review. Mr. Love called me directly, and instead of addressing my concerns professionally, he was dismissive and made me feel guilty for speaking up. During that conversation, I explained ongoing issues: limited access to equipment due to overcrowding and frequent classes, the steam room often being closed without any posted cleaning schedule, and staff behavior that can feel rude and unwelcoming. None of these concerns were taken seriously. A week ago, I experienced another incident. As I entered the steam room with three other members, we were abruptly told to leave because it was being cleaned. There was no prior notice or posted schedule, and the staff member handled the situation in a very rude and inconsiderate way, despite the fact that we were already undressed and ready to use the facility. Following this, I spoke with a manager, Beth Douglas, to share my concerns. From the beginning, she labeled me as "agitated" and "difficult," which was both unprofessional and dismissive. I was not even offered a seat during the conversation while both she and the maintenance manager remained seated, which made the interaction feel uncomfortable and disrespectful. Instead of addressing the issue, I was told to consider finding another gym. After informing them that I was recording the conversation (due to being labeled unfairly), my membership was terminated. I also attempted to contact corporate to escalate these concerns but was unsuccessful. After reading other reviews, it appears that similar complaints about management and staff behavior have been raised by others, with little to no action taken. It is disappointing that a gym at this price point fails to provide not only consistent access to amenities but also basic customer respect. A gym should be a welcoming place that supports well-being and stress relief, not one that creates additional frustration. I cannot recommend this location based on my experience.

The personal sessions also helped me fast forward my progress and discover who I was in my training. I'm incredibly grateful for all the coaches Zach, Wyatt, and Calvin for everything they've taught me. Their coaching styles are consistently encouraging, patient, and intentional. You can tell that they have poured out a lot into the students here by the way they remember your progress, push you with care, and treat every small win like it matters. They really care.
