Derek has a great balance of professionalism, knowledge, and encouragement. His approach is thoughtful- he explains what we're doing and why, and he always makes sure the exercises are done safely and correctly. If you're looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable, patient, and committed to helping you improve, I highly recommend Derek. Training with him has been one of the best decisions I've made for my fitness and overall well-being.

My primary focus was to improve my overall physical health by attaining a healthy weight, improving my muscle tone, endurance, and stamina. I was intimidated and pretty disappointed in myself. Derek brings a no nonsense, personalized approach to his training. He began with a thorough, private consultation in which he focused on understanding my specific goals, while identifying obstacles (self-created and otherwise). He worked with me to help me understand that small achievements can lead to significant improvements. Most importantly, he reminded me that consistency is key and urged me to, "trust the process." He created a personalized workout plan for me within an app, so that I could continue exercising even on days that we weren't meeting for our coaching sessions. We also established dietary goals- with emphasis on tracking my macros. It wasn't easy. On those mornings when I struggled to wake up and get myself into the gym, Derek was there with a 'helpful' text message to remind me to keep going. He always - and I do mean always - greeted me with a smile, words of encouragement, and even personal testimonies. I gained so much more than a fitness coach. 1 year and 30+ pounds later, I am healthier and happier. I am grateful to Derek for the invaluable role he played in helping me get to where I am today.

When I voted here, in the Senior Center, it was great to meet and greet with volunteers from the Senior Center who told us more about the activities they do on that side. They put on social events and dances and educational programs. I would have never known. There is a Louduon Rec Center Guide that comes out seasonally. Within it, there are classes for kids and adults on activities at the rec center and surrounding. I signed up for a few things for our family members and other than one event, they all were exceptional! I recently came for a Play All Day event. There was demonstrations in the lap pool, scavenger hunt in the leisure pool for kids, Bounce houses outside, dancing class for seniors, live band and food trucks, etc. It was amazing to see the facilities and use the rock wall for free. The daily passes to the rec center are so reasonable too with $6 for adults and $4 for kids. They even have family passes if people from the same house hold are coming together. As I continue to discover more and more about the recreation center, and meet all the wonderful people that work here; I continue to get more and more amazed at this place and their offerings. It's great running into your neighbors and bonding with the new summer staff from local high schools.

When I signed up, I was led to believe that personal training would function similarly to the regular gym membership (flexible or term-based). Unfortunately, it was not clearly explained that personal training comes with a separate long-term contract and very different cancellation terms. What's most concerning is that I attempted to cancel before the personal training contract even began, after realizing the terms were not what I had understood. Despite this, I was told there was nothing they could do and that I was locked into the agreement. This felt very misleading and lacked transparency. The differences between the membership and personal training contract should have been clearly explained upfront. I have since filed (or am in the process of filing) a complaint with the Virginia Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section. I would strongly advise anyone considering personal training here to carefully review all terms and ask detailed questions before signing anything.

I truly hope the members are not paying the same price as we do in Clinton. It feels like it was an old gym that OneLife came and bought. I went midday and it was not crowded. They have all of the machines you would need but about half of the machines look like they were from the 90s. I would come again but I think with many other gyms close by, I would think they need a bigger space and more updated equipment.

I pay way too much monthly to come into a one life gym that still has this style of equipment. Maybe because my home gym is for totten but this is ridiculous. This equipment is all older than this gym itself. The gym smells like a sewage drain. I legitimately had to work out with a shirt over my nose and ended my workout early because I couldn't stand it anymore. The layout of the gym is always chaotic as hell. Yes there's a lot of machines, they are all old maybe 10% of what's in here is "new". Studio has no fans, neither does group studio. That makes no sense to me. First time at this location, I unfortunately moved to this area, but I won't be coming back, I'd rather make the 25 minute drive to the Manassas location where is actually clean, and new equipment Editing to add that there is in fact not a single fan in this gym, even the treadmills, don't have a built in fan. Might be the reason this location SMELLS as bad as it does. I'm

I completed the 7 day free trial period with my friend and that's the basis for this review. Pros: -Great for people who enjoy working out in groups -Efficient 45 min workout -You sign up for classes via their dedicated app, then it can be added to the calendar in your phone -The raised padded floor is great for those of us with knee problems, it makes for a soft landing - they have child care -you can complete workouts from home video chat -they have women's only classes -unisex bathrooms with baby changing tables -they offer one-on-one support with nutrition (not sure how often) Cons: -Not so great for people who need more instruction because the class moves quickly -About 5-7 mins of the 45 mins is dedicated to warm-up and instructions, which makes for a short workout for some - The app doesn't tell you what the focus of the workout is going to be, so if you work out on your own you risk working on the same muscle group you already focused on by yourself -only class based workouts, no cardio machines, no time to stretch or do anything on your own -not open on Sundays -No locker room/showers Overall: This would make for a great secondary gym for someone who can't focus/doesn't have the motivation to complete HIIT workouts on their own (seeing as how there are plenty of free options online). It's a no frills, no thrills type of gym, get in, do your workout, and leave. They don't even have towels you can use. It's all about community here, so if that's what you're looking for, then this would be good for you. You must wear a face mask everywhere except while on the padded floor.
