Great company to work with. We went with Solartech primarily because of their high efficiency panels. They might cost a little more, but they'll pay off in the long run. The amazing warranty is another great selling point, but the icing on the cake was their customer service. They responded quickly to our quote request, (unlike some of their competitors who I still haven't heard back from!) Ryan Bertel was patient enough to answer all of my questions, even ones I sent late in the evening, expecting an answer the next day! He provided great information, and advice, and no pressure. The quotes were exactly to what we agreed upon, and had quick turnaround on some last minute tweaks. Scheduling and installation went very smoothly, the only problem was Mother Nature wasn't cooperating so we were slightly delayed. Not their problem, but everything was well communicated so we knew what to expect. Everything was cleanly installed, and after all the inspections were done, everything came online with no hitches whatsoever. 1 because I have to leave a review. They are unprofessional, misguiding customers JUST to get business, poor work quality and ethics. Over a year to install Tesla Powerwall without any updates, stating their installers are construction workers and are not skilled to do clean work and so customers have to put up (see pictures). Designing critical loads w/o customer involvement as customers find half backed up critical load at power-outages. When reported to Solar Tech project manager Paul LaShomb, one finds him angry and mad that customers are reaching out to him post installation, asking for $500 a circuit. Gino Salvaggio, is their sales rep, falsely assuring customers to lure contracts. After giving Gino business for first 2 powerwalls, I went with LA Solar for other 2 power walls, and no issues. In fact, they don't collect any funds and whole thing is funded by SGIP. Keep away from Paul and Gino at Solartech who bring shame to others at SolarTech read more

After learning that we could install solar panels for no money down, we received 3 quotes for the job, Palomar Solar, Sunrun and SolarTech. Palomar Solar gave me a quote without ever looking at our Electricity bills which we thought was odd. Sunrun was way out of the ballpark and SolarTech was the least expensive. Additionally Mark, SolarTech's Rep spent a few hours with us looking over past SDGE bills and asking about future electricity usage. He was very thorough and explained the entire process in detail. We needed to replace our old roof before the solar panels could be installed. SolarTech worked seamlessly with our roofer (Sequoia Roofing) telling them exactly where the panel supports needed to be placed. Mark was great throughout the entire process and never tried to hard sell us or pressure us into getting his system. read more

I can't give a high enough rating for these guys. The tldr is that Brad communicates great, the crew works fast and conscientiously, they quoted us a good price, and they went out their way to meet our needs. The long version is that I got bids from 6 different companies to replace our entire roof. Roofing by SolarTech made 2 separate trips out to make sure they gave me an accurate quote and they were the only ones to identify that we had the original cedar shake still on the roof. Brad quoted us a few thousand more than the other companies and pointed out that it may be because the other folks didn't bother to check inside the attic. He was right. When I mentioned the original shingles to the other companies they all changed their quotes, most to a higher quote than Roofing by SolarTech. Brad knew what he was doing and made an effort to give us an honest quote rather than trying to fleece us. That said everything to us about the kind of business this was. They even managed to squeeze our job in weeks ahead of schedule. When the crew came to do the work we weren't there but our neighbors commented on how the crew worked like real pros, were respectful, cleaned up beautifully at the end of each day, and even swept my neighbor's driveway just in case there were any stray nails from the tear-off! read more

I went with SolarTech because of their superior product and reviews. To give an honest review, I have to break up the experience a bit. The sales rep (Ali) was phenomenal with answering questions and getting back to me at all times of the day/night. The estimate was quick and the numbers were honest. The installation team (Miles, Cesar and crew) were also awesome. They kept my needs in mind and asked my opinion when necessary, which helped me keep the installation inline with my next project, drywalling the garage. The office was very nice, but seemed to be understaffed. After signing an addendum several days prior, they were unaware when I called. Emails were often not seen, whether from me or their counterparts (SDGE & the city). I often followed up with SDGE and the city to ensure a quick timeline, which I found pending/incomplete permit requests. While awaiting my final PTO I found out that the city inspection passed, but the approval has not properly posted. I was able to resolve this, but will note I had to be more involved that I desired. I'm sure if I never followed up, my project would have completed, but my goal was installation before the end of the year. Overall, I think this is a good company, but my involvement should not have been necessary to keep the job moving at a quick pace. read more

We are so sorry we chose this company and definitely would not recommend them at this point. We signed our contract with them in November 2022 and it is now the middle of May and we do not have properly installed functioning panels on our roof. We've experienced problem after problem and numerous delays in getting our solar panels installed PROPERLY. It is also nearly impossible to get anyone to return our calls. They are very quick to request and collect money, but terrible at communicating what's going on with our project. Our latest inspection from the city revealed it failed the inspection on two very important issues, the panels were NOT installed properly. Now they have to replan the project for all of the panels (can't get anyone to tell us how long that will take) and then the electrical panel installation that was NOT done per code and the plan has to be redone. Summer is one month away and NO solar panels. Additionally, when redoing the panel it shorted something so that one of our Ecobee thermostats no longer works, the screen is black and we've been unable to restart it at all. These were just installed last September 2022. I asked them not to process our third payment of $16,000 since the inspection failed, but the only response I received from Evangelina, (Project Coordinator)was she forwarded my request to management, but she had not responded to my reply request to whom in management she forwarded it. Additionally, since that request she has not responded to any of my emails nor voice messages. According to her this payment was due now because it is due upon "substantial completion of equipment and/or materials installed." However, according to California law, "Substantial completion" is the point in a construction project in which the contemplated premises have been completed to point where the owner can move in and use the premises for their intended purposes. Since this is not about us living here, it means the solar panels need to be ready and functional, which sadly they are not!!! We were hesitant to write this review because we fear it might just make our problem worse, but we don't want others to experience this poor technical workmanship, awful lack of communication and extremely poor customer service. read more

I recently had an small fire in my main electrical panel and the fire department was called to assist . Without power and unsure of the cause I called both SDGE and Solar tech ( Mark Albano ) to notify them both what had occurred. Instantly Mark Albano assisted and sent a notice to his office and In just a short bit of time Grant Magoffin was at my residence to review the damage and offer assistance. While the damage and cause were completely unrelated to the solar itself Grant actually helped me to get some power restored and my electrical main turned back on ....... who does that!!!!! We had called to repair a leak in our solar hot-water pool heating system. The technician, Sean, arrived early (after calling ahead) and not only repaired the leak and tightened all connections, but also replaced two failed sensors in the thermostat. We had neglected to mention that the thermostat wasn't working when we made the original call, but Sean was able to take care of it anyway. All work was completed for less than the average cost to the auto shop! I am impressed by SolarTech's prompt response, professional work, and the fact that they did not try to hard-sell me on immediately replacing my older system. What an AWESOME experience from beginning to end from SolarTech. My wife and I have been looking for solar for quite some time, and was specifically recommended by my brother-in-law to check out their system. My brother-in-law went with a "another" solar company which we received our initial quote. As I wanted to do my homework, I reached out to SolarTech and two other solar companies for their review and quotes of our property. Ali from SolarTech was AMAZING. He came to our home very prepared and had a lot of knowledge about Solar. Ali was never pushy or bias towards any products or companies, and always provided us with his honest opinion. After obtaining quotes from several solar companies, Ali was always available to answer any questions we had. He responded quickly and cordially. I could not say this about other companies who would find ways to degrade other competitors. For example, one competitor gave me an ultimatum to make a decision by a certain date or time. We just had our solar panel system installed by SolarTech this week and are very happy with how smooth the installation went. It is rare to have a contractor go thru and not have screw ups but SolarTech's install went perfect ! Our Sales guy Mark Albano ( 619. 495.1587 ) and the SolarTech team helped us through whole process and was very helpful in getting all paperwork and approvals for our Historic home. We selected SolarTech simply on their use of SunPower panels, most efficient in the industry which every other manufacturer seems to want to compare to their own panels which speaks volumes.
