Brandon Mezzantto and his time were true professionals with the installation of my solar panels. Despite this being foreign territory do me to navigate, Brandon made it a breeze truly setting an example that others should emulate in regards to taking the time to explain everything to keep me well-informed on my journey. I don't believe I would have retained the discipline to continue this process if Brandon wasn't present to guide me along. Thank you, Brandon... read more

SolarMax does not care about customer service once they get their money. Our install went fairly well and then we found out that the usage monitoring we asked for and that was included in our quote was not installed because we needed additional wiring. We requested a quote from a supervisor for that and it is now over 2 months and nothing. We can not even get someone to answer our emails or texts and when I called customer service to get something done I was told by their customer service person "That is just the way it is they do not care if you are happy or not they just want the sales people to get orders and they get paid. The sales people will tell you anything to get you to sign up and then leave you hanging". Got to say at least the customer servive was honest!!! read more

Had a great experience with Blake Morse and the SolarMax team - got our proposal together in the rush before NEM2.0 ended and we had everything signed submitted quickly System was installed weeks earlier than anticipated and is running great so far Blake did a great job responding to questions quickly and getting answers if he didn't know Would definitely recommend looking at them for solar projects read more

Dealt with Ruben completely from start to finish. He was super! Initial communication was all by email and text. His responses were quick and thorough. Had to travel interstate to pickup the item (A Solar Battery) and everything was as advertised and expected. Ruben met me at the warehouse took care of all the paperwork and loaded the item. Additionally, he followed up to make sure of my satisfaction. Ruben was highly professional, efficient and honest. The item was a good price and it was a pleasure dealing with Ruben. read more

I have been working with Chris Handzel over several years to try and get solar on my home. RPU rates are so low, that it was tough to make the switch. Today, I got solar installed. He was always friendly, and helpful every time I tried. Their service is impeccable. I needed a new electrical panel, and so they had to cut out my stucco to make room for the bigger panel. When they were done, they sent the stucco guy over. Mark McCorkell, from Pacific Applications arrived, and got to work. He proceeded to widen to opening, and clean up the opening, so that he could install all the backing paper and wire mesh to support the new stucco. I specifically asked him not to paint it, since I want to paint with the same color and brand of paint. His work is the best I have seems. You cannot even tell this is a patch job. I highly recommend. I did shop around, and they came in at the best price with superior products. I am the type of person that tries to keep working relationships even if a deal cannot be made. They came through for me this year, and I am happy I gave the opportunity to bid in the job again. I go through final inspection tomorrow, and cannot wait to see how well the system performs. read more

DO NOT BUY YOUR SOLAR WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A SCAM. my service representative Dan was an awesome guy. He answered all my questions and kept me informed when I needed it. Also he got me in before SGE changed their rates. l've had solar for about a year now and everything has been great! My project manager was Mike who was very helpful and knowledgeable. I had a few concerns with my roof and the system I would get installed, but he was very accommodating and gave me multiple options and I felt comfortable making my choices. The installation was very smooth, from getting permits to scheduling the work Mike took care of the most of it and kept me in the loop as things progressed. If I do decide on expanding my system, I would definitely work with Solar Max read more

When I decided to purchase Solar I did a lot of research and got many quotes. When I finally decided to go with Solar max it was based on multiple reasons. The fist of which was working with their sales rep Jacob Richardson. Of all the sales reps that I spoke with through my multiple quotes, he was by far the best one. He is straight forward and gives you the numbers with no fluff so that you can make the best decision for your home. He is very responsive to calls, texts and emails. He did not try to come to my home and use high-pressure sales tactics on me (looking at you sun run). The whole process from quote to installation was fairly smooth. I highly recommend Solarmax and Jacob Richardson read more

I've been leery of Solar for many years with all these door-to-door salesman that have been harrasing us for years. We didn't think we needed solar since our bills never were over $100. Needless to say, when Edison increased our rates and our bills starting shooting into the $400 range; it was time to explore solar for our home. We wanted someone trustworthy but weren't sure how to find the right solar company. A family member put me in touch with Dan Cooley with SolarMax and it has been, hands down, the best experience we could've hoped for. Dan is extremely experienced in the field and broke everything out in simple terms and was available all times of the day with our numerous questions. He returned phone calls at night, weekends and even during medical leave (if that isn't going the extra mile, I don't know what is!!!). It's good to know there are still people in this world that take pride in what they do. The world would be a better place if there were more Dan Cooley's in the world Shout out to Ashley Frias as well, for helping us get our Edison PTO approval. It was a mad dash for us to get in under the April Nema deadline; and she made that happen for us. The install was seamless and clean... very professional. Just a great experience all around and we're excited to start seeing the savings. Thank you SolarMax.... YOU ROCK!! read more

We have been contemplating getting solar for a long time. With our bill increasing over the last few years, we finally decided to go for it. We started our research using the EnergySage website where we were given a group of installers in our area. It was clear after reviewing the bids and reading the reviews that one company stood out from the others. Obviously, since I am writing this review here, we decided to go with SolarMax Technology. In my honest opinion, this is one company you should definitely consider to install your system. They have been around for a long time, their costs are competitive and their service at this point has been outstanding. I now have a 25 panel system that was professionally installed with none of the major problems that you hear on other solar company reviews. After speaking with our sales rep Jacob, we felt that our best interests were heard. This guy is awesome. He was honest, upfront, and straight to the point about everything. Any questions, he was there, and he kept us truly informed every step of the way. Definitely one of the best reps I've ever dealt with! The entire project was roughly completed in two months. Installation was professional and even with the COVID pandemic happening, they finished ahead of our scheduled date. The monitoring app from Enphase is easy to use and allows me to track if my system is working or not and track the amount produced. I am truly happy and hope this review helps you in making your decision. read more

I have been with SolarMax for over a year now and i can firmly state that singing up with them was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. Since being with them I have had nothing but issues. I have had frequent power outages, tripping breakers, and a negligible difference on my energy bill. I have even had to replace my pool pump due to a short circuit caused by the system. I have had over 4 technicians come to look at the system each one of them saying my system is working 100% and everything was resolved ( it never was). Most recently in January 2025 I had a technician come out due to a battery issue. Mike was a great tech but he informed me the system was never properly installed and calibrated correctly. This error meant that I was never receiving credits for my electricity bill. I have never saved a single cent while being with this company. In fact I have been hemoraging money. Their customner support is like pulling teeth. There is never anyone to speak and their response is always " we will follow up". To this day I have this unresolved issue and fighting to get my money back and this thing off my roof. I wish I had more time to go into details on how terrible this company is. I implore you to look else where for your solar needs. read more

A lot of the people that are giving high reviews are new. Trust me, I got solar panels from SolarMax 12 years ago, and now that it became a problem, I need panels replaced (under warranty) and a new invertir. SolarMax is avoiding me. First few calls, they promised to send me emails with information and pricing, etc. 2 months later, I'm still waiting. If I call, they ignore me, or give me the run around. They put me on hold forever or hang up me. Arianna, has not returned my multiple phone calls. Diana, hangs up on me. Coming to find out, I'm not the only one. People that got SokarMax in my neighborhood back then, told me they have the same problem. Now I'm paying for solars that don't work and Im paying for electricity. If I could give them 0 stars I would. There's too many solar companies out there to invest on. Do your homework before investing in this company. read more

Buyer beware! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! The customer service is terrible! You can never get anyone to get back to you. They sell you the goods and leave you high and dry! We've only had the unit 4 years and the inverter has broke 3 times. We have a guaranteed output in our contract, but of course, every year I have to reach out to them to let them know they owe us money. This last time we were owed close to $3,000, I finally received the check 3 months late it it's only $377. Update - 5/30 today still no resolution. We did get a phone call from Solar Max last week saying that they still manufacture our panels and that they had a meeting on the warranty issues with the manufacturer and we were to hear back on Tuesday...no phone call, no update as of Thursday. If they still manufacture the panel why is it taking 5 months to be replaced? Are you going to cover the cost of the electricity for the panel that is down? Very disappointed. We are in Riverside, CA . Once your system is installed you are on your own. Three panels went out a couple of years ago and they drug their feet on doing anything, I had to personally call the supplier of the panel to get him to replace it. Once again, a panel is out - No response to a panel needing to be replaced because it is not producing any power. I'm told my panels are no longer manufactured. This has been going on since January, we are now in May. They installed the panel they need to replace it. Extremely disappointed in their lack of customer service and warranty issues. You would think with all the bad reviews being posted they would clean up their act. Totally unacceptable!!! read more

I started my solar journey back in September of 2021. I would always have solar dudes knocking on my door and I just never wanted to stand there and listen to the pitch. Although solar has always intrigued me but the process and costs seemed so daunting. Once my Southern California Edison bills skyrocketed to $500-$700 a month during the summer, thanks to my wife for running the A/C night and day, I began asking a few friends and co-workers who had solar and what they thought about it and if it was even worth it. I called a few reps and scheduled an in-person meeting with a few companies based on recommendations I received. Long story short I went with Brandon Mezzanatto, a SolarMax Representative. He was extremely informative about the process, overall costs, financing, timeline and what to expect after the install. Once I gave Brandon the green light I was assigned a Project Manager who contacted me throughout the process. That's when I became an official member of the SolarMax family. The longest part of the process was securing the permits. That took about a month. After the permits were handled the process flew by. Day 1: Roofing Installation The SolarMax roofing crew arrived on 11/19/2021. I didn't have to be home as long as the crew had full access to the roof. The roofing installation took between 5-7 hours. They installed the stands and the racking system for the solar panels. Day 2: Electrical Installation The SolarMax electrical crew arrived on 11/22/2021. I did have to be available that day in order for the electricians to explain the scope of work. The electrical crew started installing the solar panels and ran the conduits. After they had finished installing the system they showed me how to turn the system on and off and also answered all my solar newbie questions. Day 3: Final Inspection Technician Between three to five days after the electrical installation, SolarMax sent an inspection technician to my home to meet the City Inspector.  After the city had signed off on the inspection and all required funding had been received, they sent all solar related information to SCE. SCE took around 2 weeks to grant "Permission To Operate."  Once my PTO was granted, the SolarMax Monitoring team turned on my system and educated me on how to track the performance of my system.  Brandon was a huge help with the Enphase iPhone App and how to understand what I was really looking at. A few months after everything was completed Brandon told me to contact him to go over my electrical bill to better understand what I was paying for and why. He was always available to talk if I had a question or issue. I went with Brandon and SolarMax because they are located in Riverside, been in business for 14 years and also based off a high recommendation from a co-worker. I knew I could count on Brandon if things went south. I did my homework and so should you. Looking back at the last 4 months solar was one the best decisions I have ever made as a homeowner. Since obtaining solar my SCE bills have been $11.99 a month and my cost to purchase my 33 panels are another $128 a month. BRING ON SUMMER!! I highly recommend calling SolarMax. Ask for Brandon Mezzanatto. You wont regret it! Tell him the guy who was pissed off he had to remove his bush due to code sent you! read more

Go with SolarMax. They have exceeded our expectations. They deliver what they promise and stand behind their product. They were not the low bid, but they were the right choice 4 years ago. They came in on time and on budget. The installation was clean, and professional. Now they are scheduled to install a new inverter to fix the problem. I wish they made cars! SolarMax is the best. They stand behind their production guarantee. And their product. This review is for Dan. Very responsive before and after installation. Quick and smooth. So much that I didn't even realize what was happening. They're coming to assess. 2. They're already installing. 3. Dan's waiting for the info from Edison. 4. We got the Permission to operate. Didn't hear any complaints. I honestly would not have been interested in adding solar panels to my home if it wasn't for our sales rep, John. I had asked for a quote from Tesla a couple years back and found that the ROI on it was not worth the $$$$. John has been very helpful from start to finish. He has been communicative on what to expect in the phases of the process and always responsive. Now you're gonna make an excuse of the trees when our house is taller than the trees, any trees that are around us are by the association and are being maintained about every other month when you came out to monitor my site, you told me I needed a new breaker so I bought one I needed a new roof so I got one if you would've told me that these trees that are lower than my house that are causing shade need to be cut down I would have done that but to make an excuse that there is a tree, causing shade is ridiculous Why don't you send somebody to monitor my unit and I like to prove that there is a shade on my unit. I had an overall good experience with this company for installing solar panels on my roof. I believe we started talking in August 2021 and my panels were installed in early November. The hardest part of everything was figuring out how many panels to add for future needs, and to cover current needs. Price quote was very reasonable, and service was good. It took over 2 years for our panels to finally go online. If it hadn't been for our hard-working sales-rep, Brian, I doubt if the project would ever have been finished. We had to pester them every stage of the project to get them to continue--lots of time and even hard copy letters before we could get a response. When it was finally "finished", our power company had a scheduled outage, and our solar panels failed to power our battery. Everything was wired incorrectly and it took SolarMax 2 trips and another licensed contractor 2 visits to get everything wired correctly and working. After all that, we discovered that our gas dryer had all its electronics fried due to the power surges from the failed wiring so we had to replace it. An expensive nightmare. On the bright side, the system seems to have been working for the last few weeks. read more

I recently had my system installed by Solar Max 2 weeks ago. The process started in late January 2020. I was contacted by rep Pete Herrera since he was the one who signed up my neighbor. He explained everything in great detail. Did not feel pressured by him or the company at anytime. The process went very smoothly. The company sends constant updates of the progress through email and they also call you with updates throughout the process. The process took 2.5 months because of permits and I also had them install a new 200 amp panel. PTO from SCE only took 2 days to approve and my system is working great. I constantly monitor my progress on the SolarEdge app and am making great power. Any little issues I had were taken care of immediately by contacting my rep Pete. The install team also did a great job installing. Im also happy that the company is local and not overseas. read more
