HPM Solar exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Josh our sales rep was the reason we felt comfortable moving forward. He didn't just try to sell us the biggest system possible, he actually analyzed our electricity usage and recommended what we needed, nothing more. That kind of honesty is hard to find. The installation itself was handled by Danny and his crew, who were professional, knowledgeable, and clearly took pride in their work. Everything was done efficiently and correctly. What really impressed us was the follow-up after installation. HPM checked in to make sure we were happy with the system and that everything was running as it should. That kind of attention after the sale is rare. If you're considering going solar, do yourself a favor and call HPM Solar. Highly recommend! read more

When I replaced my solar system after the Eaton Fire, I chose HPM Solar. They designed a system with equivalent performance to my old array, but with fewer panels, and a storage battery. HPM was honest, thorough, delivered on the promised timeline, and Josh, my sales rep, continues to check in with me periodically. A recent, unexpected power outage reminded me what a good idea the battery was. I couldn't be happier with the performance of my system and with HPM's service and follow-up. read more

Very pleased with HPM's Solar ownership program which I chose to install solar on my home in Claremont. Mark Medina did a great job explaining the program which can save significant expense on outright purchase. While there are inspection steps on solar installation that take time, HPM takes the lead on the process start to finish. Highly recommended. read more

It appeared my solar system was not producing any power. Its hard to find Solar companies that do maintenance. I messaged via Yelp HPM Solar. Mark sent a message back that they were currently not doing maintenance jobs but he gave me a couple of suggestions to check. As I was outside he even took the time to call me and explain in better detail. It turned out the system was working fine and had become disconnected from the Internet. I was really impressed that he took the time to walk me through the process at no charge. Great Service. read more

Our first solar system was installed through Project Solar, which outsourced the installation, and unfortunately it was a nightmare from start to finish. Because of that experience, we were very cautious when we decided to add more panels and reached out to several different companies. From the very beginning, HPM Solar stood out. They were easy to work with, communicated clearly, and consistently kept me informed about every step of the process. There were no surprises and no guessing about what was happening next. We were also extremely fortunate that an earlier installation slot opened up, allowing HPM to fit us in just in time to take advantage of the expiring tax credit -- something we truly appreciated. The installation crew was excellent: professional, efficient, and respectful of our property. They did great work and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left, which really showed their attention to detail and pride in their work. Overall, the entire solar process with HPM Solar was very smooth and stress-free, a complete contrast to our previous experience. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering solar. read more

Had to have roof replaced due to leaking during rains . Solar panels needed to be removed. They coordinated with the roofing company so everything would go smoothly. They were professional, clean, cordial, and the end result was exceptional. I am very pleased with the work performed and everyone that was involved. I hope highly recommend them especially since it's so hard to find a company that will still be around in years to come. My worry was that the installation may contribute to future leaks due to rain. I observed the installation process asking questions and am satisfied that I won't have any issues. read more

HPM Solar was amazing in helping my family get our full solar setup (panels + battery) installed. Josh, our main contact, really listened to why going solar mattered to us and tailored the system and quote to fit our needs. He was upfront about timing with the upcoming credit expiration (Dec 31, 2025), but when an earlier opening popped up, he immediately called to get us scheduled sooner. The install crew, Robert and Danny, were fast, efficient, and genuinely great to work with. They answered all our questions about the hardware while still finishing a day ahead of schedule. I can't speak much to pricing because my priority was trust. HPM Solar kept things simple and straightforward, never trying to upsell me on anything unnecessary. On top of that, they handled all the permits and coordination with the electric company, which made the whole process stress-free. Bottom line: they're a true full service installer, and I'd recommend them to anyone who values honesty, efficiency, and peace of mind. read more

We got proposals from three local solar companies. All were reputable companies and they provided similar proposals, but we found that HPM had the most realistic proposal. For example, they did not push us to cut back trees to reduce shade and they used the most conservative payback estimation method. Once we accepted the proposal (in mid October 2024), it took about two months for our turn for installation, given that they were busy with projects around the end of the year. Once they were able to start our project, they completed installation and setup very quickly -- all within 3 days. The installation crew was very detail-oriented, and they adjusted the plans to reduce the amount of visible conduit by using our crawl space, which was extra work for them. After installation, the fire inspection was quick. The City of Claremont inspection was slow due to the City being understaffed and also end of year holiday breaks. The City asked for a few additional steps, including things that seemed unrelated. I learned this is standard when you do any home updates: you have to update other unrelated items to meet current codes. HPM took care of everything as part of the original price. We have a small system (11 panels and 2 batteries). It has been up and running for about two months, and we are very pleased with the performance. I recommend that you consider HPM for your solar needs. read more

A few years ago we got solar panels installed on our roof and no battery was available, but they assured us it would be ready in six months so we could revisit and add it on then. The company then promptly went out of business and we had no idea who we were going to go with for our backup power storage. Our neighbors had their entire system installed by a local company and were very happy with what they had, so I decided to give HPM a call. Josh was super responsive and came right over to inspect our setup and gave us a couple options. We were up against a time crunch to get the tax rebate, but despite a few potential setbacks, HPM worked to get us a whole home solution, on time - exactly what we wanted. They helped us navigate the permits, the new regulations and all the bumps in the road with incredible patience and tireless explanations. All this to say Josh was amazing every step of the way and I would recommend them to anyone who is ready to install solar in their home, I wish we had gone with them from the beginning. read more

Have had such great experiences with HPM. Eric, Marc, Jose, and the entire team were great to work with and so kind. They were thoughtful about the placement of our system and efficient. There was a small delay that was out of their hands (related to SCE) but it was resolved as quickly as possible and they communicated everything clearly. read more

Eric from HPM Solar was great! He was not only knowledgeable but generous with his time. Eric even took the extra step in walking me through some stuff on the app. read more

There's a reason why this company is rated a 5-star company. Especially in the solar space where there are 100's of unscrupulous companies. I own my system outright and wanted to add more panels. That was years ago and HPM did an outstanding job. My SCE yearly bill, after the initial system was close to $2000. After HPM solar put on additional panels, it is now $800 and has been for many years. Recently, I needed a new roof. It seemed having solar complicated the lift-and-lay needed. So, since HPM had my trust, I reached out to Eric who recommended MZ Roofing. Outstanding experience. Eric was in charge of removing and re-installing the system. He removed it in one day. After the roof was completed, he returned to re-install. It was that simple. The price was fair and I am thankfully off SCE again. Communication was flawless, workers were super cool. Can't say enough good things about Eric and HPM Solar. read more

HPM Solar is an exceptional solar company.  Dan and the team at HPM Solar truly care about the customer's needs and are not trying to just make a sale.  They listened to our concerns on how we did not want this solar project to become an eye sore once installed. Dan and the team came up with a solution that limited the number of components that needed to be installed on the exterior walls of the house and moved various components to the garage. This created a clean and finished look with the install, limiting conduit lines and equipment for guests to see when entertaining.  We couldn't be more pleased with the process and installation! The system is working as designed and we are looking forward to seeing a huge reduction in our SCE bills now and into the future. We would highly recommend Dan and the team at HPM Solar for your solar needs! read more

Reached out to HPM for a quote on solar and battery storage. Within 24 hours, I had a quote detailing the proposed solar array, information breaking down power generated, amount of kWh usage offset, and even Google Maps imagery showing the roof heat map as well as a rendering of the panel installation. Was not expecting such a detailed proposal. Then Mark spent nearly 40 minutes of his time on the phone with me patiently answering all of my questions about the estimate and the entire installation process. Mark was incredibly knowledgeable and I did not get the feeling at all that he was irritated having to be on the phone with me responding to the many questions I had. Off the bat, *superb* customer service. Other businesses need to take notes from Mark. read more

Dan, Mark and Eric have been great to work with. They put the customer first and great professionals. The winds recently wrecked havoc on a couple of panels that we have. HPM, was quick to come, reinstall the panel that flew off, replaced broken mini inverter and checked all the other panels to ensure they are in great working condition. I highly recommend them. I'll be adding battery backup through HPM soon too. read more

I have an existing 20 panel solar system that was installed in 2016. I have wanted a battery backup system and started researching different companys that dealt specifically with Enphase equipment. After reading the reviews of HPM solar company I contacted them to do the job. The process and timeline was well explained and executed. The battery backup was incorporated into the existing system and I couldn't be happier. read more

We recently did a ground-up new build that required solar. We knew nothing, and were quickly confused by the different companies and their services. HPM Solar was a fantastic choice! They are experts and professional. The company has a culture of positivity and client service. Our system was a little complicated due to multiple units on the property. Eric patiently worked through the challenges and solved them. Highly recommend! read more

It's been a little over 5 years of having our solar system installed and we couldn't be happier! The HPM team went above and beyond from start to finish. Their team is knowledgeable, organized, and committed to keeping their customers 100% satisfied. I found their pricing to be best around and no silly sales gimmicks or hidden fees. We can't recommend them enough! read more

We've been considering solar panels for years but were afraid of the idea of turning loose a contractor on our house for a project like this. After doing some heavy research on solar, we contacted six companies and got recommendations and quotes from them all. It turned out to be a really easy decision. HPM Solar was simply far more professional and thorough, and with with an excellent attention to detail - along with friendly, respectful employees. Their price was not the lowest, but it was certainly in line with the other quotes, and we were impressed by their recommendation of high-quality components without any attempts at going cheap just to get our business. The work was done on schedule and our solar panels have been working as promised based on the thorough initial proposal. Would I recommend them? I have friends I've known for 40 years who've just bought a house and if they ask me about a solar company, I won't hesitate to tell them to contact HPM. Our thanks again to Brandon, Eric, Mark and Josh for their excellent work. read more

After our first solar system in Riverside in 2017, we chose HPM Solar a second time (after getting several bids) to install solar with battery for our new place in Pasadena. Once again, they were knowledgable, not pushy, flexible and effective during the 2021 install. Originally they recommended removing roof tiles to place the panels, but they adjusted in mid-installation when it became clear that our roof tiles were robust enough for an over-tile installation. We added the battery partway through the installation, which caused some complications with the permit with LA County (who are glacially slow, though friendly in person), and HPM stuck with us through the process. During installation, they stopped half-way through the electrical install and restarted from the beginning to get the cable management to be professional and clean. The new system has worked reliably, including turnover to battery during some brief power outages during the January 2025 windstorm. We also heard some thumping on the roof during the windstorm in January 2025, and were afraid it might be solar panels. I reached out to HPM, and with a week (at a busy time), they sent a technician by. He not only inspected the whole system, and found and repaired the loose mounting, but also reset some loose tiles on our roof and recommended we have a roofer check it. They did charge for this service call, but after 3 years and a physical emergency, that seemed fair enough. What I most valued in 2017 and in 2021 was that HPM Solar worked patiently and carefully through options, technical specifications, and installation details, going back to correct things that weren't right the first time in each phase. They may not seem as inexpensive as the big outfits or the back-of-a-truck installers, but they hit the sweet spot for balancing quality with flexibility. read more

This company is amazing. From the first phone call to the completion of the work they were very professional, mindful, and went above and beyond to get my solar done. Even when the city and the utility was holding up the job, they did everything they could to get them to hold up their end, phone calls and even going in person. Even after the job was done and HPM was paid, when the utility took forever to approve my pto they were constantly emailing and calling the schedulers and engineers at the utility. Also HPM used superior equipment/parts and their price was a fraction of the other big companies. Thats on the purchase side, the big companies push the lease/power purchase agreement which if you do the math is a total rip off. I even had extra things installed like a generator transfer switch and a plug they gave me an excellent price. Josh took care of everything on our job and still answers all of my questions. Give them a call you will not be dissapointed. Professional and down to earth just great people that will do an amazing job on your solar project. read more

The Guys at HPM were great from start to finish. Mark came to my house with all the cost analysis and layouts for the system and explained everything very clearly. He had all the price breakdowns for labor and equipment ready, with all the equipment and warranty coverages as well. His quote was as right in line (slightly lower) with others companies in the area. Once we got approval, His installation team, headed by Erik, showed up and did a phenomenal job. His follow up after the install was also very impressive. We had a couple small issues after the install that they immediately addressed and fixed. Overall, I'd highly recommend them. We've had a lot of home projects done and HPM was by far the best experience we've had with a home improvement project. read more

I am very pleased to have found HPM Solar after 3 months of research and estimates. I started with Mark who was very professional . He explained everything and answered all my questions. After everything it made more sense to purchase than to lease from other companies. So after Mark, I started dealing with Eric the Project Manager. Eric was great always staying on top of things from Start to Finished. Eric constantly kept me in the loop even when I wasn't asking questions. He also took care of the application with Edison for the NEM which I am very happy to be on right now. Electrical panel upgrade took one day and the solar panels also took one day. The only thing that takes time is getting the city to come by for inspections but other than that this is a great company and the people are Awesome. I would Highly recommend HPM SOLAR. read more

If you are considering installing solar, I HIGHLY recommend HPM Solar. They are zero pressure, so you have nothing to worry about by getting an estimate. Dan was our initial contract who came out and gave us the estimate and explained everything in detail. They actually listened to me and gave me exactly what I asked for for my project. I was able to get them to adjust and align panels in a few spots so that they looked better to me from the street. HPM Solar - Solar Installation Near Me - Claremont, California

I am writing a positive review for HPM Solar. I do not write reviews but felt compelled to share my experience with HPM. HPM was recommended by a friend who used them for their solar installation. We made an appointment and met with Dan Moncayo, the owner. We found him to be knowledgeable and very personable. He answered all of our questions and came up with solutions to our specific needs and issues. We decided to go with HPM to do the solar installation. Before we could begin, a lot of things needed to be done on our house: replace the existing roof, install attic insulation, install new AC/heating and duct work, install rain gutters! Dan recommended Darren Evans, general contractor and owner of So Cal Remodeling to do the work. He did a great job for us! Back to HPM. Josh Lomeli was the Project Manager. He did a great job coordinating all aspects of the project. There were a couple of glitches and he handled them in the most professional manner. Jose was the lead installer and Christian was his helper. The workers arrived early in the morning and worked all day in to the late afternoon. It was a smooth operation. The project was completed within the time frame that was quoted. On 11-01-2024 we went on line with our solar unit. We feel great about utilizing a renewable resource and not paying the utility company. In my research in finding a solar installation company, I read that the most important part of the solar installation is the company you pick to do the work. I would highly recommend HPM. They state that they are not your typical solar company: honest, no gimmicks, no pressure. They are just that! On a rating scale of 5 stars, with 5 stars being the highest rating, I give HPM 5 stars! HPM is doing a great job to help us install a fairly large solar system (14kW size). Their up-front price is very competitive and is truly their best price. Throughout the process, it's really a hassle-free experience. The price stays the same for either the cash or finance option. The project manager, Issac, is a great guy. He is very responsive to any questions or concerns. We have an s-style lightweight clay tile roof, which is a bit harder to deal with. Many installers will not be able to do the job, like Tesla. But HPM did it well with a competitive price and solid work. Despite the back and forth delays due to the materials and the city's requirements, they are doing a great job and their work is satisfactory. read more

Please go with this company! I search around and chatted with multiple Solar companies over the past 2 years, never really getting a solid feeling.... Until I met with Mark at HPM. He was professional, transparent, and extremely responsive. He showed up to my house, walked us through everything and answered all of our questions. Once we signed on the dotted line, I was assigned my project manager, Joshua Lomeli... if I thought Mark was great, Joshua was fantastic!! We communicated regularly through the entire process. He provided updates at each milestone. Once we started our installation, he stopped by regularly to see the progress and make sure my customer experiences was acceptable. My project was completed per the schedule. The only hold up was SCE. I know this for a fact because I was able to check the status of the application and I could see it was still pending on their system. 5 months after my install, I had a question about something (related to the app) and I sent Joshua an email. He replied next day with the answer and some additional info. I am so pleased that I chose HPM and I would recommend them to anyone looking for Solar! read more

Excellent group of people working for HPM Solar. I thought customer service was dead but HPM proved me wrong. We had some hiccups due to inspections on my roof, pre-existing so not due to solar installation, and HPM was with me the entire way. HPM called me in between work when storms halted things to let me know I wasn't forgotten. 5 stars, easy. read more

Dan and Josh were great, this is a low pressure honest group of people, not the standard pushy gimmicky solar people you meet everyday at the store and on your front porch! Solar was installed and we are producing more than I was expecting. I had a great experience working with Dan and Eric from HPM Solar. After getting several quotes, I met Dan and discussed my options. He was forthright, upfront, and knowledgeable. I was having my roof done at the time and they made a special effort to get the posts for the racks installed before my roof went on so the flashing could get applied properly. Eric took over once the panels arrived, and he, Jose, and Robert made sure everything was installed correctly. Props to Jose for spending a very warm afternoon in our attic hooking up the system.
