I cannot say enough good things about Source Solar. We just finished our first year of using the panels they installed in the summer of 2019 and everything has worked as advertised and then some. Ryan and Josh were so professional, efficient (from delivery of the panels to our garage to final installation was 3 days). We have a tiled roof type that makes installation difficult without damaging the tiles, and as a result many companies wouldn't even bid on the project. Their pricing was fair and their system for protecting the tiles worked great. Only a few tiles were broken in the process, and they not only fixed those but also fixed a few others that were broken but not by them. We were connected with Source Solar through an independent sales person. The design and software allowed us to very precisely see the cost of a design and the energy production. It has been very accurate and we ended up almost exactly using what we produced (we produced a little bit extra but also charged our car less during Covid). The monitoring app they installed has functioned perfectly and we are actually hooked on watching our daily intake and lamenting any passing clouds that affect our production. One time we noticed that a single panel seemed to be producing less than the ones around it. Although we weren't sure if it was just caused the the neighbor's chimney shadowing that panel more than the surrounding ones, they were out within a few days and swapped it out for a new one. Sure enough, the new one had better production. We are newbies to the world of solar energy, and they very patiently answered all our questions about the time-of-use energy plan, yearly billing, production and use estimates, the monitoring app, etc. We highly, highly recommend these brothers and would give them 6 stars if we could. If anyone is thinking about getting solar I think you need to get a quote from Source Solar and compare it to any other solar company out there. Ryan was great at answering all my questions, the price was very reasonable and the equipment quoted was top of the line. I received about 12 quotes in total. Unfortunately I had another project come up and am delaying installing solar. However, I wanted to leave Source Solar a review because I would go with them in the future. The process with dealing with some of the bigger installers was like haggling the price of buying a new car. And if you get enough quotes and do your research you'll see that a lot of installers are trying to sell you subpar panels at a premium price. So I got over 12 estimates for solar. Wanted a 10KW system. Prices were all over the place. Source Solar had the best prices and service. Let me tell you about my solar experience. First I have been avoiding the solar guys that come knocking on my door for at least 10 years. I finally did some math and figured I could save money. In short, my average bill was $225 per year with SCE. New bill is $175. Source Solar helped me get a 5% Solar Loan, no money down for 12 years. The panels are guaranteed for 25 years of output and I own them. In 12 years my loan will be paid off and I will have panels that are still making me electricity except I will have no bill! Also for the next 13 years I save $50 per month!! Win Win.. The panels should give me 18 years of power guaranteed after the initial 12 year loan is paid for. With Source Solar I now have a system that provides more electricity than I will need. They are able to offer competitive prices because Source Solar is a small company. Ryan and Josh are very friendly. I had no issues at all with them. Ryan offered me several options for solar. He was easy to work with and communicated well on the phone, by text and email. They were on time with appointments. They installed everything in just a few days. The work looks very clean and neat. They even painted the electrical conduit to match our house exactly. I am very happy I found them, so happy I had to post a great review. Again I shopped around and had prices that were double what Source Solar offered. Source Solar installed my PV solar system and I couldn't be happier. I had contacted several different solar installers before going with Source Solar. I found that they were the most forthright and straight forward when talking about the system. They were patient and worked with me through every step of the process. They were able to work with my requests for solar panel placement, integrating the system into my sub-panel, and upgrading my sub-panel including running lower gauge wire that was needed for a sub-panel install. Josh and Ryan were able to address any questions about the contract and made sure I was comfortable with it prior to signing. I secured a loan through my credit union and Source Solar was patient with the time it took for the funding. They even helped me figure out a separate electrical issue unrelated to the installation. Highly recommended!!! If you are looking to go solar and are in the Southern California area, make sure you give Source Solar a call. The owners are brothers (Ryan and Josh) who aren't interested in being pushy salesmen. They legitimately want to help you keep more money in your pocket instead of paying the electric company more and more. They are quick to give you a very competitive price, better than anyone else I found. Earlier in the year, I had a leak in my roof that needed repair. While having the repair, I informed the roofer that I was interested in going solar. Upon inspection of the rest of my roof, he discovered that in order to go solar, I would need to have a complete re-roof due to the deteriorating felt. When I was ready to get quotes for going solar, I informed Ryan that I was concerned that re-roofing and the cost of solar would price me out. He was extra patient during the process and actually helped me find a roofer the would give me a great price for the re-roof. In the meantime, Ryan worked up a great solar price that made sense and had all the paperwork ready to go when I was ready to pull the trigger. During the re-roof, the materials were delivered and stored so that as soon as the roof was finished, Ryan, Josh, and their crew could start immediately...that's right...the owners were on site every day getting dirty with their crew to make sure the job was done right. From start to finish, the job took about two days which was great, even upgrading my panel! The install was CLEAN! Then came final inspection by the city...we experienced a little hiccup from the city messing up our plans and not calling out a switch during plan inspection...no problem. Ryan had the switch that same night and the inspector out the next day. They had my paperwork to "go live" with the solar the same night and my solar went live the next day!! If you are looking for an HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY solar installer that aren't just interested in just selling you solar but are there through the entire process, these are your guys.
