Final Update: I just had Option One out at my home today to replace my inverters and I'm very happy to report my system looks to be back to fully working. The installers were awesome and got me going quickly. So regarding the communication issues I had with the company, things happen, people get busy and sometimes delays do occur. I'm just glad we were able to get everything resolved. Pricing, I did get a couple of additional quotes and Option One blew them out of the water. Could it be those other companies assumed I needed the parts and labor? Maybe, but I was very clear that I had the parts already. Bottom line it never hurts getting quotes and going from there. Service, so I got all the paperwork done yesterday early afternoon and was scheduled today (5/1) at 8am. I do realize there needs to be a buffer between appointment time and actual arrival time, I usually just assume an hour after the appointment time. But the techs were here at almost exactly 8am. As I have very limited knowledge on solar panels, the fact none of them fell off my roof (panels or techs) and nothing blew up, then it's safe to say they did a fantastic job. In the end my system is fixed and I'm happy. Also if I ever need work done on my system again I'm calling these guys up. read more

I've avoided even considering solar for the longest time because I just didn't feel comfortable talking to any of the sales people at the big box stores. What changed my mind is a neighbor on my street added panels to her 10-year old system and I realized she found value in it--so, I started to look for a company. Option One came up with stellar reviews. I reached out for a quote and was immediately impressed with how professional, friendly, and authentic they came across. Never did I feel they were being pushy or lying about anything. I got a couple of other quotes for the same size system as well and they were the same price for not as good customer service. The other thing that makes Option One great is they don't outsource the install--they are the sales and the installer. The most professional company I've had the pleasure to work with. When two other solar companies declared my house was not a good candidate for solar they said they take extensive steps to research my roof and make an assignment of my needs. They sent out a gentlemen who had previous roofing experience and was on my roof for several hours taking measurements and angles of my roof panels. My salesmen and the owner of the company came to my house to explain their design. Their design called for 46 panels made by Enphase. While here Scot, the owner, suggested I upgrade my panel as it was full and no room for expansion. We agreed and also added a Tesla power station for charging electric cars. Submitted all the documentation to my HOA and it was approved. The permit process took longer than expected due to the pandemic but it was finally approved. On the scheduled a small army of installers should up and the proceed began. Took 4.5 days to complete. I'm the mean time two inspections were held for the Anaheim inspection staff. They passed both inspections easily. Anaheim has a very thorough inspection staff. Side note, at the end of each day they cleaned up the site to above standards so as to not interfere with our life style. As in any project this size there are always a couple of things that need to be corrected and they were very prompt in correcting all issues. I'm extremely happy how everything has turned out. Scott and his crew did a phenomenal job installing two Tesla Powerwall 2s. The process took quite a while due to Covid-19, Tesla Powerwall shortage and SGIP (rebate application and approval) backlogs BUT when it was all said and done, it was all worth the wait. When you have an owner in Scott who will do anything in his power to get things right and accomplished, in my case, he took over my project (at this point my project has stalled for a while), picked up the baton so to speak and took me straight to the finish line. He got my SGIP rebate approved, my Tesla PW2s delivered & installed and passed inspection in just over a month! Kudos also to his crew who did the installation. They were very professional, knowledgeable and prompt. Trust me, I had my solar installed by another company (burst a water pipe, had to reroute conduit because where they ran it was such an eyesore, loud, etc) but Option One Solar's crew (I believe their names were Alex/Jeff?) were night and day different -- no stress and did not bother us at all. When we initially spoke, he had some recommendations including running conduit underneath rather than across on top of the wall which my previous solar company did, but he was already on it; and I had my recommendation: hooking up Tesla Backup Gateway via ethernet instead of wifi) and they perfectly executed all of them. One day, I accidentally set my sprinklers to run for 6 hours instead of 6 minutes so the next day my backyard had so much puddles of water. They had already come before my wife and I noticed it and when we did, they were already checking out our backyard for possible causes. The fact that they were kind enough and took the initiative speaks for themselves and the company they work for. I highly recommend this company. Although before deciding on any solar company. Do yourself a favor and go visit an installation. See all the components needed to be installed. This will give a better idea as to where you want every piece to go. Example: the SolorEdge system is in the garage (it's bigger then expected) and the system disconnect is outside. Make sure you let them know where you want that or your stuck where it goes. I loved the communication I received about every step and when the crew would be onsite. My main service panel was upgraded, and a new sub panel was installed. Scott was also awesome at identifying an issue I had on a previous service panel and was able to correct it for a reasonable price. My initial consultation was during the COVID19 restrictions, so phone and web based platforms were utilized. The installers installed them according to the plan they submitted, but they were still visible from the street.
