The installers were awesome and got me going quickly. So regarding the communication issues I had with the company, things happen, people get busy and sometimes delays do occur. I'm just glad we were able to get everything resolved. Pricing, I did get a couple of additional quotes and Option One blew them out of the water. Could it be those other companies assumed I needed the parts and labor? Maybe, but I was very clear that I had the parts already. Bottom line it never hurts getting quotes and going from there. Service, so I got all the paperwork done yesterday early afternoon and was scheduled today (5/1) at 8am. I do realize there needs to be a buffer between appointment time and actual arrival time, I usually just assume an hour after the appointment time. But the techs were here at almost exactly 8am. As I have very limited knowledge on solar panels, the fact none of them fell off my roof (panels or techs) and nothing blew up, then it's safe to say they did a fantastic job. In the end my system is fixed and I'm happy. Also if I ever need work done on my system again I'm calling these guys up.

Everyone I spoke with was kind, patient, and took the time to explain things clearly. They also helped resolve an issue that had been left behind by a previous installer, which I really appreciated. It made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. Their pricing was very reasonable, and their response time was impressively fast. Overall, I couldn't be more grateful or happy with my experience. I highly recommend Option One Solar to anyone looking for reliable and professional service.

I am writing to formally file a complaint against UniverCity Solar LLC, located at 242 East Airport…read moreDrive, San Bernardino, CA 92408, regarding unresolved roof damage, ongoing water intrusion, broken promises, and what I believe to be negligence and misrepresentation that dates back to 2022. UniverCity Solar has visited my home on two separate occasions over the past several years to address a roof leak that developed after the installation of their solar system. During those visits, their technicians identified cracked roof tiles as the cause of the leak, repaired those tiles, and sealed the affected areas. Despite these repairs, the roof leak continued. In January 2023, I communicated directly with Aaron, a representative of UniverCity Solar, who acknowledged the damage and promised that the company would repair the interior damage caused by the leak, including repainting the roof area stained by water intrusion. Aaron repeatedly delayed this work, citing a lack of available personnel, but reassured me multiple times that the repairs would be completed. At one point, he even stated that he intended to hire a professional painter to perform the work. Trusting these assurances, I waited in good faith for over a year, during which time no repairs were made. In late 2026, heavy rains resumed and caused additional damage, including deterioration to the drywall and window sill in my dining room--the same room originally affected by the roof leak. On December 3, 2026, UniverCity Solar sent Adam to inspect the roof. At that time, they claimed to have discovered damage to a board outside the solar panel areaand abruptly stated that they were no longer responsible for any repairs. This sudden reversal is unacceptable. Regardless of any newly identified issues, UniverCity Solar previously diagnosed the leak twice as being caused by cracked roof tiles, which they stated were responsible. I relied on their expertise and professional assessment. If their current claim is that the cracked tiles were not the cause, then the company is still responsible for misdiagnosing the issue on multiple occasions, which directly resulted in delayed corrective action and increased damage. Due to the age of the damage and the prolonged delays caused by UniverCity Solar, I am now unable to file a homeowners insurance claim, as the issue is no longer considered new damage. Their failure to correctly diagnose and permanently resolve the problem has directly hindered my ability to seek insurance coverage, resulting in financial harm. Additionally, I am deeply disappointed to learn that Tim, the salesperson who sold me UniverCity Solar's services, misrepresented the company's roofing credentials. I was told that UniverCity Solar carried a full roofing license, only to be informed later by Aaron that they carry only a limited roofing license. This discrepancy further undermines my trust in the company. I am especially disheartened by this treatment given that I have provided over three referrals to UniverCity Solar, all of whom became paying customers. This level of neglect and refusal to honor written and texted commitments--copies of which I possess--is unacceptable and does not reflect the service that was promised to me. At this point, I am unsatisfied and disappointed with UniverCity Solar's conduct and believe their actions constitute negligence and potential malpractice. I am requesting that UniverCity Solar be held accountable for: * Honoring their written and verbal commitments * Repairing the interior and exterior damage caused by the roof leak * Addressing the ongoing water intrusion issue in full I processed additional complaints to the Federal Trade Commission report number 195345513 and the Better Business Bureau under the Pacific Southwest, Central & Inland California division.

With so many options out there for solar install companies it was all a bit confusing. After doing…read moreresearch and reading reviews some great and some absolutely terrible I decided to to give Simply Solar a call as the reviews were nothing short of great. They were very prompt with their communications which was a great start. I scheduled an appointment with William on Aug 19, 2019. Here's the thing I loved most about the salesman William. He wasn't pushy at all with getting me to sign a contract or bugging me constantly if I had made a decision. He did check in a few times if I had made a decision but again not pushy. Not sure about anyone else but I hate pushy sales people and instantly get turned off. But back to William, he is a down to earth and up front salesman. Very knowledgeable about the product he is selling and helped direct me in the right direction. If your looking for honest accurate info William is your guy. So after meeting with 2 other companies just to see what my options were. I pulled the trigger and signed on with Simply Solar. The cost was a bit higher than the others but well worth it. Next person of communications was Ashley who is in house to keep the project moving forward. From start to finish her communication and timeliness in response was excellent. Ashley was constantly on top of communications with my roofing company as I was getting both done. As soon as the new roof was on the install Techs came in. I cant remember the names of the install tech but there were 2 of them and again like everyone else at Simply Solar they were top notch. Friendly, Super careful with the new roof, and went over exactly what they were going to do. I didn't realize how quick they would get it installed in just 2 days including a panel upgrade. After that was all done Dan again who was awesome came by to finish the stucco work where they had done the new panel upgrade and made it look finished. So now everything has been installed and we are just awaiting confirmation from SCE to go live. I have heard horror stories of people waiting months to be approved for going live with their solar. Simply Solar again was on top of communication with SCE and our system was up and running in less than a week after the install. Over all I think the whole process once things got started was probably less than 2 weeks. AMAZING!!!! Its been about 6 months now since I have had the panels and im so glad we got them. The first few months we were in the hole with SCE as the days were short but now that the days are longer and more sunny were putting more into the grid and chipping away at our yearly bill. At the rate this thing is running we should be close to 0 due. If your looking to go solar and want the best service, product and experience this is your go to company.

When JK Solar were installing the solar…read morepanels, they threw the construction waste materials in my garbage can, causing the garbage collectors to be infuriated with me. Also, when I tried to communicate with them, it would take them several days to return my correspondence. Even though they've installed this 4 years ago, I've never thought to give them a negative review because job well done, right? Wrong. I tried communicating with them recently to ask for the password to connect the solar panels to wifi because we've recently switched networks. This is so that I can see solar panel activity through the mobile app. I tried to communicate with the manager but I found that my email has been blocked. I then tried to communicate with the previous sales manager/ associate and it's been 1 week without reply. The only reasonable explanation I can think of is that they only care about the initial sales transaction since they've already made the contract sale. Maintaining a good customer service relationship with their clients seem to be at the bottom of their priorities. In my opinion, save your money & look for a better solar panel provider. This place's product and service is on the pricier side anyway.

We were told that JK Solar would receive the part in mid September and they had 4 issues in our area. We still haven't received a call. We've tried contacting them but no response. So since August 24th we have exported zero solar power to Edison and had to pay full price to SCE for our electricity plus the monthly service charge to the solar company. If we could do it over again we wouldn't. We're in the process of contacting the California Public Utilities Commission as well as the State Attorney General. This has been a nightmare.
