Scam, that's what the Los Angeles Solar Pros Representative, Arman says about leasing a solar system. See pic below. If he calls leasing a scam what term would he use for my purchase? I paid $44k for 27 panels that are discontinued and available online for for $66.00 each. Among other things I was told I wouldn't need batteries that the other companies said were necessary due to the SCE NEM 3.0 rule change. That turned out not to be true. They offered to remove seven panels and inverters in exchange for 2X15KW batteries to correct the issue but I ended up with 3-5KW batteries which solved nothing. See pics below. This whole experience has been an expensive nightmare for nothing. I am not saving money as I was told but have a debt and a lien on my property. To top it off there is no permit for the solar system which they said was included as part of the job. read more

I recently had a solar panel and battery installation with LA Solar. Shant was the one who handled the sale and project coordination. He did a great job of keeping me abreast of the project's progress. It took me a couple of years to get my finances prepared for the project, and Shant hung in there and did not give up. The electrician who managed and performed my installation was George. I have an extensive construction background, and George did not have a problem when I was watching his work. I must say, he did a great job. He was very understanding when I asked him to make a small adjustment. Now I am in the wait-and-see stage. I depend on LA Solar to help process the paperwork for my rebates and SCE finalization. I am optimistic this stage will proceed without problems. I can't recommend Steve and the professionals at LA Solar Pros enough. They gave us clear pricing, helped us arrange financing, and most importantly helped us deal with permitting. The team also is helping us with our SGIP rebate process! This is truly a white glove service. Installation of both the solar panels and 2 PowerWalls was quick and painless, we're now able to run the A/C all day long and have a $0 energy bill. Additionally, they back their product & service. About a year after, we had an Tesla inverter fail (not their fault at all). Greg quickly diagnosed the problem after an on-site visit, ordered a replacement, and we're back online within 10 days. Due to Title 24 requirements, we needed to get solar panels for our newly-built ADU. The ADU is small so the permit only required 2kW of panels, but some of the companies we called weren't willing to do the install because the system is so small. One of them even said the minimum system they would install is 12kW with a battery backup, which is a $25,000 system. When I called Solar Pros, they gave a reasonable price and were willing to build exactly what the plans called for--5 panels, no battery backup. One thing I appreciated is that it's very easy to get a human on the phone and via email. I mostly worked with Shant and Angel, and they were both extremely nice and always answered my questions. We've never had a solar system before so this is all new to me, but so far it's been pretty smooth. They handled all the permitting with the County Bldg & Safety Dept and So Cal Edison, which was nice, because both of those are bureaucratic misery to work with. It all took place surprisingly fast, which was great because it didn't hold up the ADU completion at all. read more

We had a large system with two batteries installed. We have panels on the main house, detached garage, and an ADU. The Install went smooth. Hyke was great and did everything we asked. Install looks professional and clean with no Micky Mouse tricks. We are about three months into using the system and have had no issues. Shant always responds quickly and is honest about questions he can't answer. We did have an issue were 12 panels were not showing up in the Enphase app. We called Shant and he had a tech there the next day. The roof work was solid and we haven't had any leaks. LA Solar Pros are great! We got a number of bids for a residential solar system from both the large national companies and smaller local installers. Given our roof layout, the proposals we got were all a little different when it came to panel placement and overall capacity (and all over the place when it came to price). Shant's proposal made the most sense to us, and he and his team also provided the clearest explanation about what actually made sense and why. Solar proposals can be heavy on sales and obscure on details, but the proposal we got from LA Solar Pros was super straightforward, free of fluff, and competitive when it came to pricing and equipment. We really wanted to get our NEM application into Edison before the 2.0 deadline, and Shant made sure we did with time to spare. The installation went really quickly too, just over a day, and our project included some trenching. LA Solar Pros handled everything with SCE and with the county for permits, etc., and all has gone well so far. Everything looks good and is working great, and we're now just waiting for the final step of receiving permission to operate from SCE. Shant and his team have been on top of it and in good communication throughout the project, even as they must have been swamped in the run up to the NEM deadline.
