I had a great experience with Solar Discovery. Alex explained the solar system and battery options clearly and answered all my questions. I thought this would be confusing and overwhelming, but with his help and walkthrough, I felt reassured and confident in going through with this project. 10/10 would recommend. In fact, I referred my sister to him since they are looking for solar in their new place. read more

Just installed solar panels with Solar Discovery. Great experience with this solar company. The team was professional, friendly, and very respectful of our home. They worked fast and kept everything super clean during the installation. Pricing was very competitive. The whole process felt smooth and well organized. We already saw savings on our very first electricity bill, even during the winter, which was a great surprise. Highly recommend them. read more

I can't recommend Ariel enough. He was the only contractor who actually told me the truth, that I didn't need a new solar system. Every other company tried to sell me something in the $20,000-$30,000 range, but Ariel was upfront and honest, simply advising me to save my money. He always answers the phone, takes the time to explain things clearly, and never once pressured me into buying something I didn't need. That kind of honesty is rare in this industry. If you're looking for someone you can really trust, Ariel is the guy. Every person should do business with this company. read more

Just to clarify: this is not a review for Solar Discovery products or service. I had a very bad experience with Alex and the sales process. To be fair, Alex seems like a very sincere; nice, and knowledgeable person. I was literally ready to move forward with project. Here is where it got weird. We had had a Zoom call previously where he shared his screen to review the proposal. Then. He came to house for site visit. Then, The next day or so, I asked him to please email me the proposal so I could review. The proposal sent was about $10,000 more than what was shown to me before. The new proposal was for 22 panel system vs the original version for a 12 panel system. He offered no explanation as to what happened to cause such an increase. So, I emailed him asking for explanation He called right away to apologize; and proceed to offer me a very flimsy explanation how the original proposal was based on AI recommendation according to square footage and was not based on the actual usage shown in the LADWP bill provided to him previously. I said "why would you base a proposal on square footage when you had actual usage? Also, when I did ai search, both chat gpt and google ai yielded results in line with the 22 panels they ended up proposing. I thought maybe Alex was just new and just made a mistake? But; he's been doing this for 5 years. He must certainly know that there iis no possible way for 12 panels to offset 100% consumption for a 3000sf home with a spa no less. Either Alex intentionally misled me: or he simply did not know what he was doing? In any case. I would just warn would -be purchasers of solar panel systems to be careful with this company. One other note: I have a very low pitch gravel roof. The next contractor I spoke with said he would not recommend standard anchors for solar panels due to higher probability for leaks. Alex never mentioned anything about that either. read more

This is the best group of people to work with. We had Ariel and crew install our solar panels about 6 years ago. We are now in the process of having them install a back up battery system for our electrical. I will tell you that they are experts and know their stuff. Ariel calls me back whenever I have a question...he is so responsive to calls or emails or texts. The crew is always pleasant, professional and clean up at the end of the job. I have referred this company to multiple people...everyone has been happy. I highly recommend them. read more

Solar Discovery installed solar panels for our house, and also did roof repairs and installed 3 solar tubes in a combo project. Alex was our primary contact who met with us, explained the solar panels options and recommended the final proposal. He coordinated scheduling with the solar panel installation team, roofing team and the solar tube installation team as well. Alex was knowledgeable, attentive and very helpful. The 3 teams were very efficient and professional. We appreciated their professionalism, and are very happy with the results. Thanks!! read more

In 2018 we put in a new roof and solar system. The comapany that installed it has gone out of business. We bought it. We discovered our inverter had stopped producing power a month ago. Not able to reach our installing company? We searched for another company to get us back on line. Lisa from discovery was off the charts helpfull. She arranged for a replacememt Solar edge panel. She said it could take up to 2 weeks to get the replacement. 6 days later she called and said it came in and she could install it that day. We were back on line 3 hours later. Rudy the installer was fast and friendly. Lisa even got us an invoice credit for the repair. Just so happy to have them as out solar company now. read more

I had the company replace the roof before adding the solar panels. The company had been recommended by my neighbor and given the actual product and the efficiency by which they carried out these things, especially the panel install, I wholeheartedly agree with my neighbor. While the roof replacement seems to have been done professionally, I found the solar panel crew to be exceptionally communicative as the process proceeded, all in relative quick order. While there was a couple of moments of misunderstandings between myself and the company, those were promptly addressed to everyone's satisfaction. I highly recommend them and ask others to support this family run business! Their expertise and work have nicely set me up to enjoy the bounties of the sun! read more

Alex and Ariel have been great on keeping me updated and answering any questions I've had throughout the process of getting solar on my roof. Solar Discovery is by far the most professional and reliable solar company I have ever had the opportunity to work with. The team at Solar Discovery had constant communication, they answered all of my question (no matter how detailed my inquiry was), and they always kept their appointments. They walked me through every step of the process and provided pragmatic reasoning for services they were offering. The services they provided were so impressive that I asked them to take over the monitoring of my system to ensure it was running at full speed. I sincerely look forward to working with them again. Thank you Solar Discovery! read more

Solar Price Discovery just completed a 2nd project for me and did a fantastic job. As before, Ariel demonstrated superior knowledge and understanding of PV systems, including updates to address NEMA 3.0. The electrical work done by Alon, PV panel install work done by Chris and the final installation and configuration by Rudy was superior and no less than I expected. It is not possible to rate Solar Price Discovery too high and they should be considered for any PV project you are planning. read more

I was up and running under 4 weeks and have been very pleased with Solar Discovery and the services they provide. I highly recommend for all of your solar needs. I ended up referring Solar Discover to multiple friends and family who were all having poor experiences with the companies they were currently dealing with. My electricity bill was much higher than the previous year. After researching online, I discovered that my solar system was never connected to the manufacturer's system, so I had no way of knowing its performance. The original installation company had gone bankrupt and was no longer in business. I contacted all the companies listed on my bill or on the solar parts, but none were willing to assist me, insisting I contact the original installer who was no longer available. Fortunately, I found Solar Discovery through the Solar Edge app. Lisa patiently explained what needed to be done to get my system running. She identified that my box was not functioning properly and arranged for a free replacement from the manufacturer. The new item arrived within a week, and technician Rodolfo promptly installed it on the same day. He was very professional. I was very impressed that Solar Discovery helped me even though I was not a paying customer. This level of customer service is rare to find these days, so I had no hesitation in choosing them to install my new unit and service it in the future. I feel very luck to have found them. After encountering issues with our solar system, we turned to Solar Discovery for assistance, and the results were nothing short of remarkable. From the outset, their team was extremely prompt and responsive. We reached out for troubleshooting, they were over the next day, proposal within two days, and their team was over working on the project the following day. Their pricing was fair & they really worked with us on identifying which options would best fit our needs, in addition to helping facilitate battery warranty/requesting Time of Use. We've worked with a ton of contractors on different projects in the house. Some BS a lot, some do not respond, or continue to delay service once payment was collected. We had the complete opposite experience with Solar Discovery. Kudos to Ariel, Ziv, Lisa, and the team there on an excellent experience. We would absolutely work with their team again... but hopefully not any time soon ;) read more

We live just north of the Palisades fire. Southern Cal Edison shut the grid down most of the week. In the midst of this we had a malfunction with the solar inverter. The result was a complete loss of power in the middle of the night. I called Lisa at Solar Discovery. She was incredible helpful in connecting me with Ariel who got two technicians, Chris and Jimmy out to our house right away. The two of them worked for over two hours to restore the system and get us back on line with power to the house. While doing so, they also took the time to patiently explain to me the problem and further educate me on how the system works. I cannot recommend this company highly enough! read more

I am a realtor. My client was in need of a company to remove a pool solar system from the roof and replace the roof beneath it. I contacted several companies, and Ziv was the only one that offered to come out and look at the project in person, which was greatly appreciated. He was able to see firsthand the size and scope of the project. We received his bid immediately, and started the job the very next day. It was completed within a week, and my client is 100% satisfied. This company did everything they said they would do at a price that was extremely fair. My husband and I bought our home 3 years ago with a fully paid for solar system. Earlier this year our solar system began to generate less and less energy. We discovered that our 20 year old system was on it's way out. We originally went with another solar company that totally scammed us and our solar system still was underproducing after they came out to repair our system. We discovered and called Solar Discovery and with Lisa and Ariel's expert help, we had a new inverter box installed and Solar Discovery installed new panels. We are now up and running and generating more energy than we ever did with our old system! Both Lisa and Ariel were paitent and upfront with their prices. Their repair/instal teams were on time, knowledgeable, and professional. We definetly recommend Solar Discovery for solar system work! read more

Our solar panels were installed already when we bought our house.  However, the original installer had since gone out of business.  I looked around to find another installer who would be able to monitor the panels on our behalf.  I searched a lot of different vendors, and then decided on Solar Discovery.  Solar Discovery was very responsive to my requests and provided me with clear details on what to expect.  Solar Discovery monitored our panels for a while, without any issues.  Then, we decided to get a roof replacement.  We engaged Solar Discovery to remove and install the solar panels before and after roof installation, respectively.  Solar Discovery was very responsive to our requests.  The crew from Solar Discovery was very fast, efficient, professional, and clean, in their removal and re-installation of the solar panels.  One of my panel was not producing, and required a new optimizer, and the crew also installed that, and so now all of my panels are producing.  I highly recommend Solar Discovery for all solar panel-related services/products. read more

I was looking for a reliable and certified solar contractor for over a month. Everyone I talked to was either too pricey or didn't feel as if they knew what they were talking about. When I called Ariel, we had a 45 minutes phone call - the very first time I called and he answered so many questions in such detail. He didn't even try to push an estimate on me. I asked him for an estimate and he came the day after and we talked. I can't recall such a pleasant conversation with a contractor. No game, no lies - just an honest professional who knows his craft. Almost 3 weeks after, they started the work and were done within a few days. Such nice people. read more

I reached out for a quote and spoke to a woman who was so rude on the call that I'm still not sure if it was some kind of prank. She was outwardly hostile, highly disparaging of competitors, and gave me a verbal indication of pricing that was more than double what I saw anywhere else. I went on to purchase a $40k system from someone else, but I can only imagine that Solar Discovery's service quality must be otherworldly. Not sure how else a business that charges more than double the market and is aggressively combative towards ready-to-buy clients can stay in business. Response to biz response below: Happy to remove my review if I've mistaken the company but you're indicating you do have a record of the call, which you can share if you think it puts you in a good light. read more

My solar installation was a very smooth process from start to finish. I appreciated that I had a personal point of contact (Kanos) through the whole experience. Overall I was very satisfied with the end product and how neat and tidy everything they did. They always made sure I was up to date with my service and they took care of all the permits. All of my answers were answered to the finest detail and I had no surprises after signing the contract and starting the work. Crew was sharp, on time and professional and within 2 days of work I have a stunning solar system that works great.
