Had a consultation with Hunter at LA Solar. He was extremely informative and professional during our appointment. Hunter took the time to explain every nuance involved in all the facets of Solar power for our home. He even took great steps in helping us figure which is the best direction for us to take. Thank You very much Hunter for your time and effort.

My experience with LA Solar is mixed. Installation: 4 out of 5 Their sales team was proactive with communication and their team was fast and courteous setting things up. The trouble with my job was they put solar panels under a tree. The installation team assured me their engineers picked the optimal location, and that turned out not to be true. Quality: 3 out of 5 I have had the system for 5 years and it has never met the quoted 5,600 KwH (average per year is 4,800 KwH). They added 2 panels this year (free of charge), so now I have to wait a year to see if it finally works right. My rough calculation is I've paid $900 over the past 5 years due to the lack of production. I also know the panels will degrade over time, so Communication: 2 out of 5 When I got the system, they said they would update the system free of charge. I had to harass them to get them to actually do it. First they said I had to wait a full year to confirm it fell short of the quoted KwH, then they said I have to trim my trees and wait another year, then they ghosted me for a year, then they stalled with "runaround" tactics for a year, then I finally posted bad reviews and threatened legal action. At that point a manager called me promptly and added 2 panels free of charge in less then a week. The manager (Greg) was friendly and proactive. I guess the challenge is to get past the office gremlins to someone who will actually help. Bottom Line: 3 out of 5 I think all these solar companies are a little shady because they are so sales-driven. The workers that come on-site were great, the administrative people were terrible (bad-faith actors with no intention of making you a happy customer), then there seem to be managers that want to make customers happy but have a limited capacity to do so.

I am interested in taking advantage of SGIP Residential Solar and Storage Equity (AB209) rebate. Have you worked with customers in Northern California (zip code 94583) for SGIP-AB209 rebate?

Yes, we can assist with this request.

Do you have a roofer that you work with? If so, will there be a deal/ discount if I was to get both installed? Thank you

Yea we do solar and roofs

How do I know I'm being offered the correct size of system for my needs? The system I'm getting quoted seems too big ($95k) but I can't get a solid explanation for why I need panels at 120% my energy usage even though I'm also getting powerwalls.

The general rule is you divide consumption to 1.45. Example: You use 14500kWh per you, you need 14500/1.45 = 10000Watts (DC), 10KW system

Hi Ara, I am getting solars from your company. Can you explain to me why my 200A beaker panel needs to be downsized to a 175A, and its implications? I have an EV outlet already, and will get an additional EV outlet. I have a subpanel also. THanks

How long did it take LA solar to finish the job, starting the 1st day you signed the contract with the LA solar consultant? I want to know since if it takes too long for this company, I'll use another company.

I signed the contract with them in February with an expectation of completion no later than May. It is now Aug 15th and they have still not cleared the city inspections. Good luck!

Do you service (install) in North Orange County area (Anaheim/Orange/Yorba Linda)?

Thank you for reaching out. Yes, we do service all of Orange County area.

Do you install metal roofing? What types? I am thinking about a metal roof and solar install at the same time; are there any current government incentives for installing metal roofs?

Yes we do. You can do quote request at our website and consultant will contact you

Did you install solar water heater systems?

Hello - we offer energy efficient electric water heaters , and offset the electricity cost for pool heating with the electric pool pump with a PV solar system.

I am just starting to research solar panels and companies. I read that you use 13 different kinds. Can you tell us the approximate percentages of each installed in the last 2 or so years? And why each is popular (and/or the benefits of that brand)?

Do you install solar heater for a pool?

Thank you for your question, no we do not install solar thermal for pool heating.

What type of panels do you guys use?

Panasonic , LG , Solarworld and 10+ other brands

Do you guys clean solar panels? I have 25 panels on my roof and need them cleaned.

    Yes we can do that

What are the benefits of purchasing vs. leasing? Also, does this process require city inspection and permit?

Permits and inspection are required to install your new solar system. When you purchase you own the system. When you lease you do not own the system. The biggest benefit of purchasing is the rebates (if available) and the 30% tax credit. Please… Read more

Has a professional installation crew and executes flawlessly and everything stays on track. Incredible follow-up and will not try to upsell you like other installers. If you're looking to install solar, you should absolutely go with OneSun. Give Rose a call to at least get a consultation and I'm sure your interaction will immediately stand out from other installers. Installing solar is something I kept putting off. When I found out that the tax credit would be going away at the end of 2025, I realized I couldn't put it off any longer. One of the reasons I kept waiting was how annoying solar reps were. Clearly just sales guys who didn't actually know anything about the equipment, technology, and process. I did a bit of research on local installers and OneSun came up a few times, all with nothing but great things to say and especially highlighted the installer's knowledge and patience. Before reaching out to OneSun, I informed myself as much as I could to the point that I knew what panels I wanted, size system, even what inverters I wanted installed. My first phone call with Rose immediately proved that all of the positive feedback I had read was for a reason. She took the time to actually listen to the specifics of my project, what I was looking for, and what questions I still had based on my research. She took the time to answer every question and even went into the technical details that I was interested in. It was clear that she was extremely familiar with not just the logistics, but also exactly how a solar system works as well as the technical details of all of the components in a system. She had my business after that first meeting but of course I still did my due diligence and got a quote from one other local installer which also had similar reviews. Although the sales rep was very nice, it was clear that he was just a sales rep and only reinforced why OneSun was the installer to go with. OneSun's pricing happened to be better but even if the other installer would have come in at a cheaper quote, I would have still chosen OneSun for the install. Rose started the permit process in July and made sure that everything stayed on track, especially since I wanted to make sure that the system be on before the end of the year in order to qualify for the tax credit. The timelines she provided were right on point and the install was scheduled for September. About a week before the install date, there was an unexpected problem. The panels that were originally planned for my install had gone completely out of stock. There had been some kind of manufacturing issue and those panel would not be coming back in stock for another couple of months which could push the project out to the following year. Rose let me know she could acquire slightly larger panels for the project and install it on schedule. I was about to ask what the additional cost for the larger panels would be, but before I was able to, she let me know that there would be no additional cost to me. I'm sure any other installer would have used the situation as leverage to add additional cost to the project. A testament to Rose's commitment to her customers. On installation day, the crew was professional and efficient. They completed everything in one day and made sure to keep everything as clean and organized as possible. Towards the end of the install, I had noticed that they ran one of the grounding wires out from the attic and down the face of the house where I had planned on completing another project in the near future. I knew that the wire would need to be redirected if it was left there so I asked the foreman if he could run it through a different path. Initially he felt like it would not be possible given the layout. I reached out to Rose just to make sure and see if she possibly had another solution. About 10 minutes later the foreman showed me another possible option which was much better for what I needed. It may have seemed like a small thing, but that was another instance in which I believe any other installer would have dismissed my request as pickiness and told me there was nothing else they could do. Rose took the time to speak with her foreman and truly assessed the situation to come up with a solution that fit my needs. It took LADWP about 6 weeks to get my meter installed and for my system to be turned on, but it was still well before the end of the year (and yes, I just got my tax refund with that hefty solar tax credit). It's rare to come across someone like Rose who is honest, patient, and who truly has her customer's best interest at heart. Combine that with impeccable execution and communication, and there is no one else I would recommend for a solar install project. In fact, my parents are considering a small project and I've already told them about Rose/OneSun.

When I first contemplated getting solar panels for our house, the entire process looked daunting. I…read moredidn't know anything about the technology or equipment and I felt ill prepared to make any decisions about what our house needed. There are so many companies out there, it's hard to know who to trust. As soon as I did a few online searches, I was flooded with emails and texts from multiple companies with high pressure sales pitches. One company charged me $350 to do a site survey, just to get a quote for the project, then came back with a revised quote adding $7000 to dig a trench for electrical wiring due to "the location" of our electrical panel. I found OneSun on a yelp search and as soon as I spoke with Rose Avakian, I knew my search was over. This company stands out from the others. There was no sales pitch, pressure, or upsell. Rose explained the technology and equipment in a way that made it understandable and approachable. When her team came to look at our place, they found no need to dig a trench and simply connected to our existing electrical panel. Had they needed to dig a trench, the price they quoted was nowhere near $7000.  From start to finish, the entire experience was transparent, seamless, professional and expedient. The attention to detail and care the team put into making sure everything was done right far exceeded my expectations. If you're looking to go solar, look no further than Rose and OneSun. This is truly the best company I've ever worked with!

They installed a high-quality system that has performed extremely well over the years. At one point, both of our inverters experienced a manufacturer-related issue. In fact, Solar Optimum identified the problem before we even realized something was wrong. They worked directly with the manufacturer to secure a replacement inverter at no cost and handled the installation quickly and professionally. When it came time to replace our roof, we didn't hesitate to reach out to Solar Optimum again. Their GAF Master Elite certification and the advantages of having the same company manage both the solar and roofing work provided tremendous peace of mind. The warranty benefits are excellent, and the roofing warranty is transferable, which adds real value and is something many roofing companies do not offer. We recently completed a full solar removal, reroof, and solar reinstallation project with the Optimum team, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. The entire project was completed in about a week, exactly in line with the schedule that was provided at the start. The crews showed up on time, worked hard, communicated well, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day despite the significant amount of work involved. From start to finish, the process was smooth, professional, and well-managed. It's rare to find a company that delivers this level of service over a relationship spanning more than a decade. We couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend Solar Optimum and Roofing Optimum.

Before conducting a site inspection, they required me to sign a contract and pay a $500 deposit. After completing the site plan, they informed me that a panel upgrade was necessary and that the battery would need to be installed in an inconvenient location. These changes increased the project cost by an additional $3,700, bringing the total well above the original quote. I was surprised by such a significant price increase and decided to cancel the project. I then requested a refund of my $500 deposit. It took nearly two months and more than ten phone calls before I finally received an answer. At that point, I was told that the deposit was nonrefundable because I had signed the contract. I find it unreasonable that Solar Optimum required a signed contract and deposit before conducting a proper site assessment, then substantially increased the price afterward and refused to refund the deposit when I chose not to proceed. In my view, a thorough site inspection should have been completed before providing a quote and requiring a commitment from the customer. Based on my experience, I would advise potential customers to carefully review the contract terms and understand the refund policy before signing.

I originally had a positive experience with California Solar Electric during my 10.12 kW solar and Powerwall 3 installation last year. Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. Buyer beware: the installation team does good work, but do not trust a word management says about referral incentives or post-sale promises. Still waiting for my $500.
