Currently working with LA Solar Group for a solar panel installation project on my home. There's a severe lack of communication and accountability that's ongoing at the moment with this organization, which is prompting this review. We begun the project several months ago and throughout each step of the process it's been like pulling teeth. They constantly reschedule installation and inspections without any real explanation, and all calls to their operations or install department goes to voicemail. As an example, I called four different times, left two voicemails, and several text messages for an issue during installation. No one called or texted back. I decided to call the sales extension, and guess what ? Someone was there immediately to pick up the call and make a sale to another sucker! I have tons of examples similar to this that leads me to conclude no one at this company actually cares or even knows what they're doing. In addition, the inspections team spouts lie after lie, blaming the city inspectors for rescheduling when really their own installers can't come out to meet the city inspectors. There's no single principal or project manager that sees the job through to completion, and each department (e.g., inspections, finance, interconnection, etc) operates in a silo. They don't respond to questions, and when they feel they're done with their part of the project, they pass it on to the next department and wipe their hands completely until it comes back to them. Tldr: the only reason this company gets two stars is due to the quality of the materials and installation being average. That being said, LA Solar's administration of the install as well as their communication is terrible. Choose these guys if you're a masochist and want to spend five digits on them to waste your time and get ignored throughout the entire process. Edit 1/24/26: Oh how quickly their marketing team responds to legitimate and factual criticism of their company. If only their operations teams put in the same effort... And no, I will not be reaching out to the main office 'so that you can review the matter appropriately' because I can't trust you to do the right thing beyond retaliation and cancelling my warranty. If LA Solar actually took concerns about communication, scheduling, and accountability seriously as they mention in their reply, then this would have been managed long before we got to this point. LA Solar has enough info to identify me and reach out to my specific account, so I'll wait for them to formally reach out to me there. Or is it that they can't identify my project because the install teams ignore everybody to begin with? My situation should have been the exception, not the norm. My experience with LA Solar is mixed. Installation: 4 out of 5 Their sales team was proactive with communication and their team was fast and courteous setting things up. The trouble with my job was they put solar panels under a tree. The installation team assured me their engineers picked the optimal location, and that turned out not to be true. Quality: 3 out of 5 I have had the system for 5 years and it has never met the quoted 5,600 KwH (average per year is 4,800 KwH). They added 2 panels this year (free of charge), so now I have to wait a year to see if it finally works right. My rough calculation is I've paid $900 over the past 5 years due to the lack of production. I also know the panels will degrade over time, so Communication: 2 out of 5 When I got the system, they said they would update the system free of charge. I had to harass them to get them to actually do it. First they said I had to wait a full year to confirm it fell short of the quoted KwH, then they said I have to trim my trees and wait another year, then they ghosted me for a year, then they stalled with "runaround" tactics for a year, then I finally posted bad reviews and threatened legal action. At that point a manager called me promptly and added 2 panels free of charge in less then a week. The manager (Greg) was friendly and proactive. I guess the challenge is to get past the office gremlins to someone who will actually help. Bottom Line: 3 out of 5 I think all these solar companies are a little shady because they are so sales-driven. The workers that come on-site were great, the administrative people were terrible (bad-faith actors with no intention of making you a happy customer), then there seem to be managers that want to make customers happy but have a limited capacity to do so. read more

LA Solar was great during the install process of my solar and batteries, however what I'm most impressed with is the customer service after the purchase for system maintenance. My powerwalls had to be replaced because of a Tesla recall and they took care of the whole service as if I was a new customer. They also have text in support which is such a timesaver! I'm updating my review of LA Solar Group to provide the status regarding the Envoy S, which has Not completely resolved yet. But I do want to acknowledge and commend David S (manager/supervisor) for stepping in after seeing the previous review and has been doing his best to make things right about this situation. He offered to compensate w/a $400 refund/discount on the Envoy S (via check recvd 9/26) and re-ordered the correct one w/expedited delivery so that it arrived quickly. He then sent a Tech out on 9/18 to install it, but unfortunately, that Envoy S would not power on. That same day, David paid extra to have another one expedited again frm Enphase. Fast forward a couple days later, the Envoy S was finally installed on 9/23 by the same Tech (also name David). Here I also want to commend David the Tech for his patience and explaining everything about the Envoy S on those 2 occasions. It would have all been great if the Envoy S has no more issues after that. For whatever reason, or bad luck, the Envoy S is still NOT working as intended. As of 9/23 after the installation, the Enphase app status screen has been STUCK at "Data uploading," along w/all the microinverters (19 total) are still displaying "Updating Data." There has not been any updates or data showing since 9/9/25, when the Envoy R was replace. If it typically takes up to 1 hr per day the Envoy is offline for the data to upload/catch up, it shouldn't have taken more than 3 days for the data to catch up the 2 wks when the Envoy was completely offline. But even as I'm writing this, the data is still stuck on 9/9/25. I'm hoping it's just taking it's sweet time to upload/update and nothing else is wrong, but the fact is that none of the the data has updated at all worries me. Especially when the Envoy S is showing only 1 solid green light (see photo & video) for several days now. No other light is blinking or on despite full sunlight. It's connected by a Cat5e cable directly to the ethernet and the Enphase app does show that the Envoy/Gateway status is "normal" and "connected to the Enphase cloud." But all 19 micro-inverters are showing the "error" msg about "Microinverters Not Reporting." I have one micro-inverter showing it has last reported on 8/22/25, one last reported on 8/29/25. I have sent screenshots to LA Solar Group about this 2 days ago, and that has not changed as I'm writing this. Given what happened so far, if it's just to rank the customer service provided by David S and David the Tech, I would definitely give them both 5-stars each. But as things stand right now, this whole experience so far has been very frustrating w/the Envoy S still not working as intended after 1 wk of installation. So I want to be honest as to how I feel and leave it at 3-Stars for now. Once the Envoy S is working as intended and the issue is truly resolved, I will gladly update the review again. read more

LA Solar installed our solar panels and Tesla battery packs six years ago and they were great to work with. I loved that they applied for the CA credit for the Tesla batteries and deducted the rebate from the pricing. They also just added more panels five years later because our usage increased. What I appreciate most about LA S is that they continue to provide great support. For example, I had to replace our WI FI at our home and they sent a tech to reconnect the system to the new router. I contracted a battery install with LA Solar Group three months ago and still do not have a working system, however at the last minute they demanded full payment at the end of the year or I would not get the tax credit. Even though the project was months late in starting. They asked for $4,000 extra for a fire system, which they did not install, when asked they said, let's see if it passes the city inspection without it. The then failed the city inspection, but said they didn't need it but refuse to refund the $4,000. No person from the city knocked on my door, and the person they sent spoke so little English I don't understand how anyone from the city could have discussed the project with them. They refuse to call and will only text back sometimes. They will not give any information on what failed and when the next inspection is. This has been going on for months. read more

I don't normally write reviews and this is my first review but this company has really disappointed us. We installed our solar system with LA Solar back in summer of 2021. We didn't have much rain till Sept of 2023 and we noticed a leak so we informed LA Solar that in the area where solar was installed there was a leak. Their roofing department came out to investigate and did a report saying the leak was not caused by them but it was clear the tiles we're lifted up high and had created a gap where the water was getting in (see picture attached). So their guy "shaved the tile" so it would fit better, we didn't go on the roof to inspect their work as we trusted them. Fast forward to 12/21/2025 and with all the rains we had another leak which had us putting a big bucket in the attic and one on our kitchen table coming through the can light. So we had our roofer coming out and they found out how LA Solar had "shaved" the tile to fit better, they had left a huge gap in the tile and that's where all the water is coming from (see pic again). It's so disappointing and it's so hard to get a hold of them and for them to actually show up and fix the issue. I'm going to contact the California State board too and see if they can help me but not happy at all. Also after the first leak I paid my roofer $850 and I sent a copy to LA Solar which they refused to pay. And after this second leak from 12/21/25 again I had my roofer tarp the house and had to pay him another $550. read more

I have had a my solar & backup battery system in for several years and the system and service has been great. My original consultant Gary Lubin was so helpful and provided excellent help when I purchased my system. Yesterday, I had an issue that was very frustrating to say the very least when applying for a HELOC and in the process they discovered that the contractor/mechanic lien had NOT been removed and it was holding up my approval. I called and spoke with LIDIA and explained my situation. I was very upset that this was jeopardizing my loan. She was very understanding and said that she would personally handle the issue that could have taken a week or more and she handled it is just a couple of hours. She called my to let me know and she contacted my lender and got them the proper documentation to get me back on track. I cannot compliment her enough for the speed and level of service she provided. He fixed the arcing/wiring issue and the system is back on (still waiting for rain to confirm). It is genuinely sad and unacceptable that a Yelp review was the only thing that forced action. What we went through was an exhausting, and completely negative experience just to get basic warranty service for a dangerous electrical/arcing problem on our roof. No customer should ever be put through this. If/when another issue ever arises and it is handled promptly, honestly, and professionally from day one, exactly the way you advertise and the reason I chose LA Solar over other companies I will happily write a glowing new review praising that service. read more

LA solar group installed my panels in 2017. In 2024, we discovered that my panels had not met the minimum production guarantee per our contract for the last two years. They calculated the reimbursement owed to me, I agreed, and told me they'd send me a check. I still have not received this money. Come to find out, 10 solar panels had gone bad. 5 were completely not working at all, and 5 were underproducing. They told me they would reinstall new panels within 7 days. 10 months later and over 100 emails later, my panels still had not been replaced. I had to file a small claims lawsuit, which finally motivated them to replace my panels. Their customer service was aweful. They had every excuse in the book for not installing my panels. They sent me on a wild goose chase to try to get my panels from Hauyndai. Meanwhile Edison is charging me anywhere from 34 cents to 58 cents per kiliwatt. They only reimbursed me 19cents per killowatt, even though the delay was completely their fault. I just finished at court and they didn't even show up. I was awarded $1,976 owed in underproduction charges from the judge. I don't know how I'll ever get that money back. Stay clear from these guys. When my process server served these guys papers, she told me she had served them papers 6 other times. DO NOT USE LA SOLAR, they are quite aweful. read more

My Tesla Powerwall battery was giving me constant problems disconnecting several circuits from my home's electrical system. After several phone calls and one fruitless visit, David was able to fix the Powerewall connection to the Internet with a 2 hour visit. Unfortunately, that resolution only lasted about 2 weeks, as my Internet Mesh system failed, and my Powerewall is again giving me the same electrical disconnection problems. I am now searching for an effective Internet distribution system for my 3 story, 4,000 square foot home. Cox, my Internet provider, only offers to test the Internet connection remotely, and then hangs up on me. read more
