Wow, Wow, Wow, and Thanks! These are the words and feelings after Imperial Solar installed 25 Panasonic HIT 330 panels. After 5 other estimates, Imperial Solar clearly set itself apart in all areas. Pricing was significantly better than the other companies. Communication and customer were top notch. Other companies will say that you can't put a price on excellent customer service, which is probably why they charge a lot more $$$. Armond is fantastic. He will create a system catered to your needs and requests and he addresses all questions. Our solar system took a couple months due to slow permitting from the city. Now we can conveniently charge the EVs at home and not worry about absurd Edison bills. We made sure to take advantage of the 30% federal rebate before it drops at the end of the year. When you do your homework and research, you'll see that Imperial Solar is in a class of its own. Thanks again Armond and Imperial Solar!

1 Month view of power production

It all started when a Solar company knocked on my door. I wasn't looking to go solar but was in a good mood so I chatted with the rep. Over the course of a month we talked and I got interested as I'm now retired and was looking for ways to cut our variable costs. Being a retired Engineer, I started to take a deep dive into solar power, pros and cons. I learned that this door-to-door company was way to expensive as they wanted to lease the panels and have me pay for 25 years and raise the rate by 2% each year. So they offered me to eliminate the escalation clause, the 2%, but what I learned was that it was still too expensive. So, I did what a good engineer would do and made a spreadsheet. It had all their numbers in it for the 25yr lease. I then did a deep dive into our LADWP historical rates back to 2015. I learned that LADWP raised their rates an average of 6% per year! I then created a spreadsheet with what the current rates were for Tiers 1-3 and projected it out 25 years at a 5% increase each year to be conservative. The numbers were frightening! At this point I wanted to really consider solar. I went to Yelp and scanned for a local, reputable solar company and found Imperial Solar had a 5-star rating and glowing reviews. I'm leaving out names at their request as Yelp takes issue with names. I called Imperial and talked with a real Mechanical Engineer. He went over everything and sent me links to all the solar equipment they use. The panels and inverters and combiners were top notch equipment. He recommended 28 panels based upon my stated requirements of 20,000 kwh/year. In the end I added two additional panels as I wanted to use my HVAC more than I had in the past and wanted to exceed 2020 power usage as 2020 was extremely hot at my location. After being convinced that Imperial was the best choice (I had quotes from others) we set the plan in motion. The process took about 2.5 months as you need to get approvals from LADWP and LACITY before turning on the system. Imperial installed the 30 panels in two days with 30 micro-inverters and a single Combiner box... a very clean installation. Their crew was professional, polite, and clean. As an engineer I watched the installation on my brand new roof very carefully, I was impressed with the materials they used and their installation methods. On May 19th 2022 I was able to switch on the Solar Breaker after receiving the PTO (permission to operate) from LADWP. Now, here's the actual benefit I'm getting comparing 2020-2022. My billing period starts mid month and ends 2 months later mid month. 2020 May-July $847 2021 $737 2022 $25 2020 July-Sept $1339 2021 $977 2022 $107 We have a 2400 sq/ft single story home and it was over 100 degrees for about 2 weeks straight in Aug-Sept. We ran our A/C at 78 degrees. The $107 is really about $70 as the LADWP is charging me a Tier-3 Connection fee as they look back 1 year and if you hit Tier-3 anytime during that year you will pay the higher connection fee for the next year. This will be reset lower after October this year per LADWP. As you can see, having solar will pay off BIG time. Imperial Solar sells the systems outright, they don't play the rip-off leasing game. The Door-to-Door guy wanted $72,500 over the 25yr lease and I bought my 30 panel system for $30,530. I estimate I will save around $125,000 over the next 25 years due to the historical rate hikes by the LADWP. Imperial Solar is very professional, very responsive, and do exactly what your contract states. They use top of the line panels made in Germany and Inverters/Combiners from the best supplier. They are an easy 5-Star company. The mobile and WEB based software is AWESOME and let's you track exactly how your system is performing by Day, Week, Month, Year, Lifetime!

Gladly writing a review about our experience with Imperial Solar. These guys are honest and trustworthy. We were in the need a 200A main electrical panel upgrades to accommodate a 43-panel solar system. Imperial Solar gave us the best deal for our money and did a fantastic job with the installation of the electrical panel and the solar system. More importantly, we had no setbacks and our system was installed and turned on just in two months. Brian our agent was super informative and honest. He knew exactly what we would need. We met a few other companies throughout our search, but none came close to dealing Imperial Solar. Our foreman (David) was very polite and professional and even removed the broken dish antenna from our roof. I have NOTHING but good things say about my experience with all the staff at Imperial Solar. We are wholeheartedly recommending them to all readers looking to get solar. You will like this company! coming from one homeowner to another.

Ask the Community - Imperial Solar

Would I have any out of pocket expenses for life as a result of installing the panels and a new roof? Would there be a lien or a loan?

Hello JoAnn, Thank you for contacting us. Usually, customers do not have any out-of-pocket costs when financing a solar project. Depending on the financing company, there could be a lien placed for the duration of the financing term,

Do you change SolarEdge modem to Ethernet router for home WiFi monitoring?

Hi Betty, Unfortunately, at the current moment we do not service systems not installed by our company.

Do you have a roofer that you work with? If so, will there be a deal/ discount if I was to get both installed? Thank you?

Hello Jeff, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, many of our solar projects require roofing, and we can certainly combine both and provide better pricing.

Do you offer loan for solar system?

They do. Ours went through Energy Loan Network.

Has a professional installation crew and executes flawlessly and everything stays on track. Incredible follow-up and will not try to upsell you like other installers. If you're looking to install solar, you should absolutely go with OneSun. Give Rose a call to at least get a consultation and I'm sure your interaction will immediately stand out from other installers. Installing solar is something I kept putting off. When I found out that the tax credit would be going away at the end of 2025, I realized I couldn't put it off any longer. One of the reasons I kept waiting was how annoying solar reps were. Clearly just sales guys who didn't actually know anything about the equipment, technology, and process. I did a bit of research on local installers and OneSun came up a few times, all with nothing but great things to say and especially highlighted the installer's knowledge and patience. Before reaching out to OneSun, I informed myself as much as I could to the point that I knew what panels I wanted, size system, even what inverters I wanted installed. My first phone call with Rose immediately proved that all of the positive feedback I had read was for a reason. She took the time to actually listen to the specifics of my project, what I was looking for, and what questions I still had based on my research. She took the time to answer every question and even went into the technical details that I was interested in. It was clear that she was extremely familiar with not just the logistics, but also exactly how a solar system works as well as the technical details of all of the components in a system. She had my business after that first meeting but of course I still did my due diligence and got a quote from one other local installer which also had similar reviews. Although the sales rep was very nice, it was clear that he was just a sales rep and only reinforced why OneSun was the installer to go with. OneSun's pricing happened to be better but even if the other installer would have come in at a cheaper quote, I would have still chosen OneSun for the install. Rose started the permit process in July and made sure that everything stayed on track, especially since I wanted to make sure that the system be on before the end of the year in order to qualify for the tax credit. The timelines she provided were right on point and the install was scheduled for September. About a week before the install date, there was an unexpected problem. The panels that were originally planned for my install had gone completely out of stock. There had been some kind of manufacturing issue and those panel would not be coming back in stock for another couple of months which could push the project out to the following year. Rose let me know she could acquire slightly larger panels for the project and install it on schedule. I was about to ask what the additional cost for the larger panels would be, but before I was able to, she let me know that there would be no additional cost to me. I'm sure any other installer would have used the situation as leverage to add additional cost to the project. A testament to Rose's commitment to her customers. On installation day, the crew was professional and efficient. They completed everything in one day and made sure to keep everything as clean and organized as possible. Towards the end of the install, I had noticed that they ran one of the grounding wires out from the attic and down the face of the house where I had planned on completing another project in the near future. I knew that the wire would need to be redirected if it was left there so I asked the foreman if he could run it through a different path. Initially he felt like it would not be possible given the layout. I reached out to Rose just to make sure and see if she possibly had another solution. About 10 minutes later the foreman showed me another possible option which was much better for what I needed. It may have seemed like a small thing, but that was another instance in which I believe any other installer would have dismissed my request as pickiness and told me there was nothing else they could do. Rose took the time to speak with her foreman and truly assessed the situation to come up with a solution that fit my needs. It took LADWP about 6 weeks to get my meter installed and for my system to be turned on, but it was still well before the end of the year (and yes, I just got my tax refund with that hefty solar tax credit). It's rare to come across someone like Rose who is honest, patient, and who truly has her customer's best interest at heart. Combine that with impeccable execution and communication, and there is no one else I would recommend for a solar install project. In fact, my parents are considering a small project and I've already told them about Rose/OneSun.

I…read moredidn't know anything about the technology or equipment and I felt ill prepared to make any decisions about what our house needed. There are so many companies out there, it's hard to know who to trust. As soon as I did a few online searches, I was flooded with emails and texts from multiple companies with high pressure sales pitches. One company charged me $350 to do a site survey, just to get a quote for the project, then came back with a revised quote adding $7000 to dig a trench for electrical wiring due to "the location" of our electrical panel. I found OneSun on a yelp search and as soon as I spoke with Rose Avakian, I knew my search was over. This company stands out from the others. There was no sales pitch, pressure, or upsell. Rose explained the technology and equipment in a way that made it understandable and approachable. When her team came to look at our place, they found no need to dig a trench and simply connected to our existing electrical panel. Had they needed to dig a trench, the price they quoted was nowhere near $7000.  From start to finish, the entire experience was transparent, seamless, professional and expedient. The attention to detail and care the team put into making sure everything was done right far exceeded my expectations. If you're looking to go solar, look no further than Rose and OneSun. This is truly the best company I've ever worked with!

Mason is attentive and he was the best with responding to questions and concerns. And when I had concerns about delays in my project, I would email him and it would be fixed right away. The solar industry is one where many people have a lot of questions, uncertainty in effectiveness, and aren't sure if it's right for them. And people in general don't trust solar companies and sales people. It takes time to complete a solar project from contract to actually generating electricity for the home. For me, I decided to go with solar because the 30% tax credit was ending (and now that I actually see results, it's worth it even without the tax credit). However, since I was in a tight window to get everything completed before December 31st, I was very nervous as to if the project would be done on time. if it wasn't for my persistence, and for Mason's help, I don't think it would have been done Before December 31st and I would have been very upset and lost out on the tax credit. So again, GO WITH MASON at Solar Optimum, you won't regret it. If I get another home, I will 100% use this company again, and would 100% ONLY work with Mason. I also added a picture to show how much solar has been generating for me in just over a week in the middle of December (the worst for sunlight). It's right at optimal generation for this time of year and look forward to no more electric bills.

Then I didn't receive an update until 12/10/25 asking for information that I had already confirmed via phone call, the clearance from solar panels as well as the panels being permitted. Then I received an email on 12/23/25 asking for this confirmation again. I sent a follow up, and did not hear back from Eddie until 12/27/25. He gave me a call and told me that Solar Optimum is unable to complete the installation by the end of the year, making me ineligible for the tax credit. He suggested claiming the system was installed/invoiced in my taxes, which is tax fraud as the tax credit makes it explicitly clear that it needs to be installed and powered by 12/31/25. On Dec 30th, he said he would update me within 2 weeks. 2 weeks elapsed and no update was given. At the end of my experience with Solar Optimum, I was took a loan that was no longer needed which ran my credit which has negative implications for my credit score. I also missed out on thousands in tax credit as well as future long term savings. There was misrepresentation regarding what the company had to offer and so far the company has not offered any option to rectify the situation. Will never do business with this company and strongly advise against using their services. The only option remaining is if they are able to discount the panels by the amount of tax credit I have missed out on, which will be my desired resolution requested.
