I typically wouldn't even write a negative review but because my house was almost in shambles today, I really could no longer hold my tongue in this situation. We had very high hopes with solar system inc because they were kind, responsive, and clearly explained the process to us at the beginning. once the process started, there were one too many flaws that doesn't sit right with me. Long story short, we were explained one thing & when the electricians came, another was done. there was multiple shortcuts, attitude, and unhappiness revolving the entire process. We wanted two outlets in our garage but the electricians refused because we couldn't use both anyways. OBVIOUSLY, we know that we can't use both at the same time -- we're not STUPID cavemen who don't understand the concept of electricity. Because it was mentioned to us at the time of contract signing, we wanted to go through with it. You don't have to give us attitude & can explain to us in a nicer tone. My family is paying good money for solar, you can AT LEAST BE PROFESSIONAL if you want future business????
There was a lot of back and forth between us, Angie & the electricians and they finally gave in to install the outlet we wanted in the garage.
After installation, surprise!!!, we failed first inspection (which I completely expected & we were reassured by Angie that this happens all the time because Sunnyvale is so strict & they mainly service San Jose which I then said, I am THANKFUL that our city is so strict and doesn't take "shortcuts")
Since we failed first inspection, the electricians came back and gave us attitude as if we were the ones at fault for their job. To my knowledge, the homeowners have nothing to do with the inspection. If it fails, that's on the company to fix. We can't go out there and fix whatever the problem was.
Months later, we passed inspection, thinking there would be NO MORE PROBLEMS & to be happy to be done with the solar process.
Today was the big finale surprise. See attached photos. Yes, our breaker panel is old but that doesn't justify that the breaker the solar company installed, is ***ERODING*** 2 months of installation and that was because the ***WIRES FROM THE OVEN/KITCHEN GOING INTO THE BREAKER WERE LOOSE*** They installed this 40/30/30/40 Circuit breaker because there was not enough space for both the SOLAR and kitchen oven. So they replaced my to this new one. It obviously looks newer than the other breakers in my panel.
I don't know anything about electricity but I'm pretty sure brand new breakers should not burn up and erode like this. Who knows what could've happened if we didn't discover this today. Hoping to get a resolution tomorrow since today was Easter...
So happy Easter to us... read more
