I was looking for a complete off grid system for my house and shop. I called these folks up, gave them all my information about my billing with the local power company tri-co. i was forwarded and called back with a 'higher up' representative.
This next individual went on to try to sell me a on-grid system repeatedly, saying the words tri-co about 50+ times and making it sound (to me) as if they worked for these people or got some sort of kick back from them. You would think tri-co was his wife or something.
When i insisted i was being off grid (which was known from the beginning of the conversation) so whats the point of trying to sell me this, i was told if i want to go off grid, they would charge me at least twice the install price due to it using 'different equipment' (like to toss me another deterrent to not buy this but to use his tri-co package), then he went on yet again trying to sell me this 'on grid' system. As if i had changed my mind...
I interrupted and asked him what could possibly double the price. After all, even if im on grid or off, im NOT going to use the power company. If anything i would only sell them some juice i make.
He said that i would require a complete set of 'different kinds of equipment'.
When i asked what kinds of equipment could possibly warrant that and be so different...
HE said well. uhm, I would require a second set of batterys if i want to be off grid. As a back up.
How that equates to double or more the price im not sure. Mmmhmm.
Also.. when these battery's are warrantied and guaranteed by them for 25 years why do i need yet another set of them... Id just make them come out and replace the bad ones. But i digress.
He then continued to try to sell the on grid again and speak of 'its benefits'..
I said i saw there were 19 companys in tucson that i could buy a solar install from. He said none of them would ever call me back and just hang up on me once i told them where i lived, because non of them had what this company had.. a business contract with Tri-Co.
I said.. ok let me get this straight.. im going completely off grid.. im not having ANYTHING to do with tri-co.. there name shouldnt even be mentioned in this conversation. why would companys just hang up on me? they dont need any contracts with them. their not involved. again.. this is an off grid system i want to buy.
anyway.. he ignored that and went on to tell me how noone could beat their prices with the awesome equipment they sold, that everyone else is a mom and pop out of their house, and they had the only place with a warehouse, to which i said.. thats great.. its about how much your install will be thats going to make the difference for me.
Overall i wasnt impressed with this rep at all as he also mentioned what they would install would be at least 500% over what i was using just 'in case'... i wouldnt even build something at 200% 'just in case'! these guys just do NOT listen to what your needs or wants are and just want to sell you what they think you should have.
in this case they also seem to be OVERLY zealous of the power company and what the package they sell that makes use of them.
he even started asking me.. why you want to be off grid for? you will need a well, this and that etc otherwise its pointless... trying to keep selling me on this system he had in mind.
whats it to them why i want an off grid system?
yes i know why.. its because of what he was trying to sell me...
shouldnt they just try to just give me what im asking for? ive had better treatment by used car salesmen.
he ended with saying they would have a representative come out to the house and get started on this process...
To make this worse... because i was still going to give them one more chance...
The first person i spoke to, Joseph, had gave me a time and day for when a rep would come out and speak to me and my family about what we should/could get, and they never showed up! Never even gave me a text or a call saying either they would be late or not be there!
The next day i sent a text saying i was going to take my business elsewhere as i think this was very unprofessional of them. Every other company ive EVER done business with would call me if they were late or not going to show. Even Lowes or Home Depot give you several calls before they come out saying they are even on their way.
You would think with the kind of money were talking about here they might try to do a little better.
I did get an apology back the next day that he was just very busy and sorry they didnt get back to me.
Thats just not good enough. As a business owner myself Id expect the boot if i never showed up as well.
I did reply my review would reflect what service i received.
I created a yelp account just to leave this review. I will be posting a review of who i eventually went with and why.
Anyway... id stay clear of these guys. I wouldnt touch them with a ten foot pole after all that. An apology just isnt enough for what i encountered. Be warned. read more
