About 6 weeks ago, one of the invetors failed. I contacted them and informed them of the failure; they ackowledged it and at first, they contacted Aptos in an attempt to put the two panels (each micro-inveterer handles 2 panels) back in service. It did not work. This company does not keep any micro-inverters in stock, and despite my complaint regarding paying my local utility for electricity that these 2 panels would have generated, forced me to wait between 4 and 6 weeks for them to have one of their technicians make the replacement. I noticed today, that a different micr-inverter is showing an alarm! When I contact this company, not only do not refuse to stock even a small number of these devices, but I was informed that they would likely charge a "service call" fee of $115 to make the repair (unless the manufacturer will reimburse them for labor). This is completely contrary to what I was told by their salesperson; he told me that I would have lifetime monitoring, maintenance, and failed part replacement at no cost to me. That was the resason I made the purchase from this company. Apparently, I was lied to. Stay away from this outfit, both because of their refusal to stock even a limited number of these parts that seem to fail after little more than a year, and now, due to their high service call fee. This doesn't sound like no-cost, lifetime maintenance to me!

They sent Zach who climbed up on my roof, took measurements, looked at my electrical service panel and took pictures and took the information back with him. A few days later I got an estimate based on honest-to-gosh real numbers. After convincing the city that the roof was sound, they went to work installing my system with an upgraded service panel. After SSVEC signed off, the system went live (albeit with a few electrical modifications from the original installation). By the way, the SSVEC inspector said I picked a good company to do the installation. A few years ago, a friend of mine told me that solar systems are not capable of powering a power-hungry central air conditioning system. Well I have central air conditioning and my small 12 panel system handles it with aplomb with plenty left over to export back to the grid. I'm happy with my choice of Net Zero for my system.

I was still under warranty so I called. The guy on the phone looked up the address and said yes, I was still under warranty. I asked if he could deal with my real estate agent since I was not in Tucson anymore and it didn't seem to be a problem. However, now that I about to close on the house, my agent called them back to get status and the 1by1 guy swore at him and hung up. So, I called them myself and they guy said that they need the warranty papers and receipt since they do not have me in their system now due to a system changeover. That seems shady. When I told him that he said I was in there last time I called a couple weeks ago he said that he was just looking at the stuff my agent sent but my agent didn't even know about them the first time I called. So, I feel I have been lied to and my agent treated like garbage. I guess I will file a ROC report on them since they seem to want to get out of doing any warranty repair work. They did a nice job on the roof, I will give them that. Just don't expect anything down the road if problems arise during warranty.

When I walked in I was greeted by gracious Derek working at his computer near the entrance. Behind him I saw one of my decades-old cartoons about solar power on the back wall of the office. A good sign. The collegial space was packed with an industrious diverse crew with a sunny vibe. Forgive the pun but it is rooted in truth. A positive workspace is telling. Now wonder they're the best. Derek explained the available financing, how the system would be designed and the simple steps and I was delighted with the affordability and the speed with which I could have photovoltaic panels generating power on my roof. A year before I had posted interest in solar and was descended upon by sales people from the many solar operators here in southern Arizona. It was discouraging and dizzying. Unlike that blizzard of experiences my encounter with TFS was encouraging both because of the affordability and the simplicity of the steps. I was sold on the spot. We are buying our system on time and it will cost us much less than our electric bill and in the future will easily make even greater sense. In this strange political time going solar was an enjoyable act of defiance for us. Derek, Tamarack and Taylor and the other co-owners of TFS whom I encountered during the installation were terrific. TFS was present throughout the process of inspections, installation steps and reviews insuring a painless and pleasant transition. The patient positive attitude of everyone at TFS blew us away, both in the office, and in the field, at our home. The crews that came to my hacienda were staffed by exceptional highly experienced workers. The TFS electricians who replaced the old circuit box with a beautiful modern model were good humored and happy to explain their mission. The TFS installers of the panel supports and the panels who followed were a competent synchronized team who were equally cheerful about answering our questions. The much anticipated day TFS guided us through the simple steps of turning on our system was thrilling to this homeowner. Once the app we loaded was showing us how much energy the sun light was producing the experience felt magical. We set about using our appliances like kids, savoring the scientific miracle of sunlight powering powering our washer, dishwasher and oven. I had an appointment for a basic annual AC service included in my subscription. The first words out of the service man's mouth was "Are you the decision maker in the household?" Now why in the world would a serviceman need to know who pays the bills when I'm getting a basic service on a subscription? And he asked that before he even looked at my system. My "service" was a high pressure sales job to buy $10k worth of additions for my AC. Immediately! Now! Or I could DIE! Apparently, I went from getting a AC service to being in a life threatening situation: lung disease and cancer if I don't upgrade. Or my system might have been installed upside down. My system is relatively new. I have never been told by a workman that it was installed upside down or was holding toxic black mold spores. Good try asshats. I have been trying to cancel my service for three months! I have left messages, sent emails, disputed it with my credit card company. They will not cancel, but they keep leaving messages asking if I am satisfied with their service. I have since moved out of state--and they are still charging me. My ex husband is a veteran. Normally I try to support our veterans. But even vets can be scammers and opportunists. Embarrassing for our country.
