Sunbright Solar The…read morepurchase process: We purchased solar from Sunbright Solar. We interviewed Dan Schipper for the job around November 2022. We sat on our laurels for a few months. We had it down to two companies, but weren't completely decided on all the specifics. The interview went well. Dan is a no non-sense sales rep. He is respectful to his clients. He gives intelligent answers. He doesn't sugar coat anything. He gives the best sales service that a person can get in any industry. When we put the long pause on the decision process. Many of the solar companies we interviewed tried to pressure sell us. Dan gave us a monthly phone call to find out if we are still interested. He would say something like, "Hi, where are you at in the process? Is everything good?" Then he would inform us about lender rate changes (usually higher) and/or upcoming product improvements. Given the latter, he would recommend we continued to hold off a couple weeks. I never felt bothered or hustled by Dan. Dan is informative, respectful, and keeps you in the loop. Post purchase agreement: Here is where Dan really started to shine. No big project comes without hiccups. Ours was with communication and poor performance with the lender for our bridge loan. They changed our rate after we got locked in. My best understanding to date is that they never actually locked us in, didn't do the paperwork. Then they pushed their error onto us, the borrowers. Dan got on the horn with them, he handheld us and the bank through the process. He did his best to ensure we got a loan at the previous rate. He earned a lot of respect from us over the month that we negotiated our way through it. Installation: Dan knows how to handle his customers needs. Installation came, and we weren't happy with the street view of our panels. They were placed too high. No problem, he had an employee come out within a couple days to make us happy. I got on the roof and looked around. The installation was clean. Warranty: So, we can't get a break here. Apparently, diodes on a solar panel go out at a rate of less than a panel per million. We got one. We have all the usual warranties. The panel company gave us some run around about getting the new panel. Of course, Dan is on it. He spends some of his time to just check on us. He tried to come out on his off day to get some readings. The faulty panel was replaced with a new one. Dan just continues to go above and beyond. Referrals: Sunbright Solar continues to go above and beyond. I referred Sunbright Solar to my father. Dan gave the same great service. We were given a little gift for the referral. Thank you Dan. I've never been happier with a contractor. In fact, I'm usually pretty grumpy with contractors. We're coming up on about 6 months of solar. Everything that could have gone wrong did. When I walked in I was greeted by gracious Derek working at his computer near the entrance. Behind him I saw one of my decades-old cartoons about solar power on the back wall of the office. A good sign. The collegial space was packed with an industrious diverse crew with a sunny vibe. Forgive the pun but it is rooted in truth. A positive workspace is telling. Now wonder they're the best. Derek explained the available financing, how the system would be designed and the simple steps and I was delighted with the affordability and the speed with which I could have photovoltaic panels generating power on my roof. A year before I had posted interest in solar and was descended upon by sales people from the many solar operators here in southern Arizona. It was discouraging and dizzying. Unlike that blizzard of experiences my encounter with TFS was encouraging both because of the affordability and the simplicity of the steps. I was sold on the spot. We are buying our system on time and it will cost us much less than our electric bill and in the future will easily make even greater sense. In this strange political time going solar was an enjoyable act of defiance for us. Derek, Tamarack and Taylor and the other co-owners of TFS whom I encountered during the installation were terrific. TFS was present throughout the process of inspections, installation steps and reviews insuring a painless and pleasant transition. The patient positive attitude of everyone at TFS blew us away, both in the office, and in the field, at our home. The crews that came to my hacienda were staffed by exceptional highly experienced workers. The TFS electricians who replaced the old circuit box with a beautiful modern model were good humored and happy to explain their mission. The TFS installers of the panel supports and the panels who followed were a competent synchronized team who were equally cheerful about answering our questions. I never experienced such horrible (I can't stress enough) customer service in my life. Timelines were not met, our salesperson Chris never ever returned calls. One of the owners Noe who I spoke with after not getting any results from the other staff said he would follow up and then never returned my calls or text messages. They missed the time frame for the solar tax credit, and it still took weeks /months to finish the project. The amount of time spent, call made and frustration was unbelievable. Their customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. I can't imagine this company staying in business.
