Then I called Intelligent Design, and I'm so glad I did! They responded quickly, fixed the problem efficiently, and charged a very reasonable price. They also helped with my plumbing issues, making the whole experience even better. I originally thought Intelligent Design was just an air conditioning company, but they do so much more! When I visited their office, I was also fortunate enough to meet the owner, Aimee, who was one of the kindest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. From the service to the people, this was truly a five-star experience. I highly recommend Intelligent Design to anyone needing help with their home!

I had an appointment for a basic annual AC service included in my subscription. The first words out of the service man's mouth was "Are you the decision maker in the household?" Now why in the world would a serviceman need to know who pays the bills when I'm getting a basic service on a subscription? And he asked that before he even looked at my system. My "service" was a high pressure sales job to buy $10k worth of additions for my AC. Immediately! Now! Or I could DIE! Apparently, I went from getting a AC service to being in a life threatening situation: lung disease and cancer if I don't upgrade. Or my system might have been installed upside down. My system is relatively new. I have never been told by a workman that it was installed upside down or was holding toxic black mold spores. Good try asshats. I have been trying to cancel my service for three months! I have left messages, sent emails, disputed it with my credit card company. They will not cancel, but they keep leaving messages asking if I am satisfied with their service. I have since moved out of state--and they are still charging me. My ex husband is a veteran. Sunbright Solar The…read morepurchase process: We purchased solar from Sunbright Solar. We interviewed Dan Schipper for the job around November 2022. We sat on our laurels for a few months. We had it down to two companies, but weren't completely decided on all the specifics. The interview went well. Dan is a no non-sense sales rep. He is respectful to his clients. He gives intelligent answers. He doesn't sugar coat anything. He gives the best sales service that a person can get in any industry. When we put the long pause on the decision process. Many of the solar companies we interviewed tried to pressure sell us. Dan gave us a monthly phone call to find out if we are still interested. He would say something like, "Hi, where are you at in the process? Is everything good?" Then he would inform us about lender rate changes (usually higher) and/or upcoming product improvements. Given the latter, he would recommend we continued to hold off a couple weeks. I never felt bothered or hustled by Dan. Dan is informative, respectful, and keeps you in the loop. Post purchase agreement: Here is where Dan really started to shine. No big project comes without hiccups. Ours was with communication and poor performance with the lender for our bridge loan. They changed our rate after we got locked in. My best understanding to date is that they never actually locked us in, didn't do the paperwork. Then they pushed their error onto us, the borrowers. Dan got on the horn with them, he handheld us and the bank through the process. He did his best to ensure we got a loan at the previous rate. He earned a lot of respect from us over the month that we negotiated our way through it. Installation: Dan knows how to handle his customers needs. Installation came, and we weren't happy with the street view of our panels. They were placed too high. No problem, he had an employee come out within a couple days to make us happy. I got on the roof and looked around. The installation was clean. Warranty: So, we can't get a break here. Apparently, diodes on a solar panel go out at a rate of less than a panel per million. We got one. We have all the usual warranties. The panel company gave us some run around about getting the new panel. Of course, Dan is on it. He spends some of his time to just check on us. He tried to come out on his off day to get some readings. The faulty panel was replaced with a new one. Dan just continues to go above and beyond. Referrals: Sunbright Solar continues to go above and beyond. I referred Sunbright Solar to my father. Dan gave the same great service. We were given a little gift for the referral. Thank you Dan. I've never been happier with a contractor. In fact, I'm usually pretty grumpy with contractors. We're coming up on about 6 months of solar. Everything that could have gone wrong did. Thankfully, Dan was there to help us see it through. I mean wow! The man has your back!Sunbright Solar is the real deal. Dan Schipper really made our solar experience great! If you are looking into solar, I'd give Sunbright Solar a call.

They sent Zach who climbed up on my roof, took measurements, looked at my electrical service panel and took pictures and took the information back with him. After SSVEC signed off, the system went live (albeit with a few electrical modifications from the original installation). By the way, the SSVEC inspector said I picked a good company to do the installation. A few years ago, a friend of mine told me that solar systems are not capable of powering a power-hungry central air conditioning system. Well I have central air conditioning and my small 12 panel system handles it with aplomb with plenty left over to export back to the grid. I'm happy with my choice of Net Zero for my system.

I decided to wander into their workspace to learn what I could about this company that had a terrific reputation and had gotten press for being worker owned. When I walked in I was greeted by gracious Derek working at his computer near the entrance. Behind him I saw one of my decades-old cartoons about solar power on the back wall of the office. A good sign. The collegial space was packed with an industrious diverse crew with a sunny vibe. Forgive the pun but it is rooted in truth. A positive workspace is telling. Now wonder they're the best. Derek explained the available financing, how the system would be designed and the simple steps and I was delighted with the affordability and the speed with which I could have photovoltaic panels generating power on my roof. A year before I had posted interest in solar and was descended upon by sales people from the many solar operators here in southern Arizona. It was discouraging and dizzying. Unlike that blizzard of experiences my encounter with TFS was encouraging both because of the affordability and the simplicity of the steps. I was sold on the spot. We are buying our system on time and it will cost us much less than our electric bill and in the future will easily make even greater sense. In this strange political time going solar was an enjoyable act of defiance for us. Derek, Tamarack and Taylor and the other co-owners of TFS whom I encountered during the installation were terrific. TFS was present throughout the process of inspections, installation steps and reviews insuring a painless and pleasant transition. The patient positive attitude of everyone at TFS blew us away, both in the office, and in the field, at our home. The crews that came to my hacienda were staffed by exceptional highly experienced workers. The TFS electricians who replaced the old circuit box with a beautiful modern model were good humored and happy to explain their mission. The TFS installers of the panel supports and the panels who followed were a competent synchronized team who were equally cheerful about answering our questions. The much anticipated day TFS guided us through the simple steps of turning on our system was thrilling to this homeowner. Once the app we loaded was showing us how much energy the sun light was producing the experience felt magical. We set about using our appliances like kids, savoring the scientific miracle of sunlight powering powering our washer, dishwasher and oven. Our hacienda is powered by TFS and our hearts were warmed by TFS.

Following that installation, I discovered that two components in my home had been blown out. Solar Gain basically told me to pound sand. After a series of very poor reviews, Solar Gain agreed to repair the issues if I bought the new equipment. I agreed and moved on. In July, the battery system failed. At 3 AM, I'm on the phone with support in India trying to figure how to bypass my system to get power back to my essential appliances. The next morning, I called Solar Gain for assistance and was treated like some sort of inconvenience. Eventually they agreed to send someone out at a cost of 625 dollars to look at the system. All they did was turn the system back online which I could have done. They showed no concern for WHY the system failed. Now comes Labor Day. 6:15 PM and the system fails again. After an angry phone call, I finally hear from the salesman three days later saying that a new manager would be calling me to resolve the problem. His idea of a resolution was to charge me another 600 dollars or so to come out and do what I had already paid 625 dollars for. Needless to say, I left them and went elsewhere. The new people came in and found that the settings in the system were incorrect. The system said I had NINE batteries rather than 6. They found that the firmware on the system was wrong and required what the tech called "A fifteen-dollar piece of equipment." The tech then troubleshot the entire system, made a few adjustments, tested for different conditions to ensure that all was in good order and gave it a good grade. Exactly what did I pay Solar Gain, Inc. for? The answer: Absolutely nothing. To top it all off, I found that for 601 dollars I could be covered completely for a whole year. Stay away from Solar Gain. Either their integrity or their professionalism is in serious question.

About 6 weeks ago, one of the invetors failed. I contacted them and informed them of the failure; they ackowledged it and at first, they contacted Aptos in an attempt to put the two panels (each micro-inveterer handles 2 panels) back in service. It did not work. This company does not keep any micro-inverters in stock, and despite my complaint regarding paying my local utility for electricity that these 2 panels would have generated, forced me to wait between 4 and 6 weeks for them to have one of their technicians make the replacement. I noticed today, that a different micr-inverter is showing an alarm! When I contact this company, not only do not refuse to stock even a small number of these devices, but I was informed that they would likely charge a "service call" fee of $115 to make the repair (unless the manufacturer will reimburse them for labor). This is completely contrary to what I was told by their salesperson; he told me that I would have lifetime monitoring, maintenance, and failed part replacement at no cost to me. That was the resason I made the purchase from this company. Apparently, I was lied to. Stay away from this outfit, both because of their refusal to stock even a limited number of these parts that seem to fail after little more than a year, and now, due to their high service call fee.
