I ordered a fan cover from them for a quiet cool whole house fan which I purchased from another distributor. The fan vent cover is used to cover the fan vent in the roof during the winter time to prevent warm air from the heater from going into the attic. It is of marginal quality and probably not worth the $ they charge for it, however when I expressed these sentiments the company was attentive to my concerns, so their customer service appears to be oh high quality. The experience as a whole I believe warrants 3 stars. Re: quiet cool fans, which I again will note, I did not purchase from this company but the company does sell (and therefore this should be considered apart from my review of solabrite) : the fan works, but not to the specs quoted on their website. I got a fan rated to 1100 square feet of space, for my small 700 square foot house, and it does not deliver as expected. So if considering a quiet cool whole house fan, consider overestimating your square footage. The fan does run very quietly and without an problems 1 year into its use. read more

I'm very happy with my solar tubes and wish I had installed them a lot earlier. Solabrite is a good company to work with. There were some communication issues that kept me waiting around and a snafu with the electrical connection but they stand behind their installation and resolved the issue. We had 3 sola tubes installed in the house, one in the dark hallway and 2 in the liveing room, we could not be more impressed with the performance of the product and even more happy with the installers, marty and ken kept the project clean throught job with minimal mess, the rooms are bright but not overly, thanks solabright! I had 2 solar attic fans installed. That process went smoothly enough. The problem started 2 months later when the fans failed. I understand that they do not manufacture the fans, that isn't what this is about. This is about the lack of customer service. I called and spoke with John about the failed fans. I was informed that they would need to send somebody out to confirm that I knew what a non spinning fan looked like. Without going into all the details, it took 4 phone calls and 6 weeks to get the fans replaced. When they did show up, it was unannounced and several days after the day I was told it would be. It might just be a coincidence, but that was the day after I contacted the local news stations consumer reports. I chose this company in part by all the positive reviews. Just from my experience, I have to question the validity of some of these reviews. read more

We had two solar tubes installed and couldn't be happier. Our installer was super nice and we were very pleased with how much light we have now. Our home has an addition on the back which took away most natural light and I felt like I was living in a dungeon, not anymore. We ended up with one on our kitchen and family room. After reviewing sun tunnels/tubes online I decided I wanted to purchase and have installed a Solatube. Solatube's only east bay authorized retailer is Sola-Brite. So I called them to come give me a quote of instillation of 4 separate tubes. After I showed him what I was looking for he asked what condition the roof was in and I told him it was only 9yrs and not leaking (albeit not the best roof I had seen). That evening I received a "quote" offering to sell me the tubes but saying they could not install due to my roof type? Just a little disappointing for a company whose only service is the installation of Solatubes and MANY older homes in the Bay Area have a rolled roof like mine. Additionally called two other places for quotes and they said they could install them but many contractors "shy'd away from jobs that weren't a simple 2hrs that they can charge $1100 for." read more

We had 2 sola-tubes installed in our living room which, being in the center of the house, didn't have a lot of daylight coming in. The only windows/patio door faced north and there is a pergola over them. Ken, our installer, did a fabulous job with no mess, dust or insulation pieces to clean up afterwards. We had this brand of tube installed in a home in NC when we lived there, and I searched for a company that sold the same brand here because we were so pleased before. The tubes are warranteed for 10 years--we never had a leak or complaint before and I expect it to be the same here. They sell the highest quality product of this type and I highly recommend them. Several different diffusers can be chosen to match your decor--it is like having portholes to the sun!! read more

My wife and I can not say enough good things about SolaBrite. We first detected a leak in our SolaTube, and needed help. I got SolaBrite's name and number through Home Advisors. Placing a request on a Sunday evening, I did not expect to hear anything until the next day. But what a surprise to hear from John within 2 hours that evening. After a brief discussion as to what was going on, John scheduled an installer for the next day, weather permitting. The rain was off and on yet the installer showed up. Within two hours the fix was done. What service!! Note the leak was due to a different installation company not doing a proper install three years prior. We have two sola brite lites...one in my home office and another in an interior bathroom with no natural light. They have made a huge difference and we are so glad we did this. This is a wonderful company that does outstanding work! They installed two solar tubes in our dark kitchen in 2008 that provide fabulous light and make two dim areas glow with warmth. The installers were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and did the work quickly and on time. We'd first thought about having skylights put in, but the tubes are much better for the areas we needed (and the depth of the attic over the kitchen area). They gave me good advice along the way and although I ended up not getting the sola tube I wanted( there were structural obstacles where I wanted it to be installed) I was truly impressed by their professionalism. This was by far the best $780 we have spent on our home improvement 5 years ago. Our hallway bathroom does not have a window and it was always dark and dungy. After some research we have decided to go with Sola Brite. The installation was done without a hitch and our hallway bathroom became the brightest place in our house LOL. I had contacted Johnny (John) on Friday, September 22, to visit my parents property in Concord for a Skylight estimate. John indicated that a Pete lives in the area and can stop by on a weekend. I was good with this but informed John that the parents are senior citizens so please call in advance. Parents did not hear from John for over a week. So I left a message on Sola-Brite general VM. On October 03, John reached out to my Mom and said he will be there to provide an estimate. Pete arrived and asked my Mom what she needs. My Mom asked Pete if he has samples or a brochure. No samples or brochures provided. Pete went back to his truck, sat in there for a while and just drove away. This is not only disrespectful, but rude. At least he could have told my Mom that he was misinformed that he did not bring brochure and/or samples for the Skylight options and will return with them. Instead, he goes to his truck, and waits in there and drives off. If they want our business, they should at least be professional! read more

I can't say enough about this Company. They are all very professional, communicate well, and are there to answer any questions you may have. John the Owner stayed in constant contact with me and he responds very quickly. They upgraded 3 Solar Tubes for me and they are stunning , far superior then the ones I had before. These were done the end of July 2018. They cannot be compared to LED lights, the natural sunlight that comes through is amazing, that I don't need to use my lights. I have one in my Master Bathroom, one over the Shower, and one in my Hallway Bathroom. Being in a Townhouse after living in a house I missed not having windows in these areas so this resolved the issue and are even better. Bill came out and showed me the difference between the rigid tubing they use and the coiled ones I currently had and there was no comparison. I then decided on a Whole House Fan about a week later as I have vaulted open beam ceilings , a SSW exposure and the area gets hot. I have used it many times to get the fresh early morning and late night air sucked in, and even slept with it on all night. I have not used my a/c since it was installed. Mufid was was my installer for all 4 products and he is amazing, very knowledgeable, cleans up very well and is a joy to work with,not to mention fun. I referred them to several people who came by to see mine and they have also had them done and are very happy. Sam who works in the office is great and very organized making sure everything is arranged and that everyone comes when expected. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

This is going to be an odd review. Let me start by saying my folks have 4 tubes in their home, and they look great. So I decided I wanted some for my two interior bathrooms. The Sales Director came out, and gave me a quote. However, more importantly, he expressed his concern that I really wouldn't be happy with the way the product would perform due to my roof, the next store neighbors roof. and the sun. (I'm a single story and the neighbor is a two story.) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that a so appreciated his honest assessment of my situation. I feel like he cared enough about my satisfaction that he ultimately felt it was probably not the right idea for me. What a great experience, and even better outcome! I worked with Bill and John at the showroom, and then Marty came to install my sola tubes. He sure knows his business. AND when he went on the roof, he found a competitor's solar tubing product with the cover OFF!! It wasn't screwed down at all, was just half-resting over the opening. We would have been flooded in the next rainfall for sure. Marty installed that properly, even though it wasn't a sola brite, which was awesome. He really cares about doing the job right. And the Sola Brite that he then installed looks great, and lights up a dark hallway - I don't think I'll need to turn on a light there anymore, so very cool. I am super-happy, and recommend this product highly. Now that I can compare, I can really see the difference in quality between them and the other guys - Sola Brite is the way to go (and they aren't paying me to say that!!) read more
