These guys were awesome!! They came to pebble our pool and were so friendly and FAST! These guys know their stuff. They saved us from ourselves as we were too eager to fill the pool we almost messed it up but they took the time to come back and check on us and let us know of our mistake. They vacuumed out the water from our spa and further educated us on the science behind our new pebble. Thanks so much guys you're so awesome!! read more

David and his team were fantastic! Very helpful and had great suggestions regarding pool service and cleaning since our backyard has a lot of plant life. The plastering looks very clean and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone! read more

David did a great job for us determining what we thought was a rust stain around our spa light was not. He removed the cover and determined all was fine, and had us check it out before he put the cover back and refilled the spa. He was professional and respectful of our property. Most importantly, problem solved. read more

We had Sol Pacific complete the high end pebble fina polish on our pool and we could not be happier. They were fast, efficient and did a flawless job. They were knowledgeable about all areas of the pool and gave us great advice for hardscape etc, even though that is not their job. They even were able to rectify a bad situation when our dog got loose and made some prints in the bottom of the pool. They made it look like new. We've had our pool filled for about a week now and we have had tons of compliments from friends and neighbours on how amazing the finish looks. I highly recommend Sol Pacific for all of your pool plastering needs, you wont be disappointed. read more

Sol Pacific just finished resurfacing our pool and hot tub and they did a great job. From the start they were knowledgeable and easy to work with. Marcus helped us look at a number of pools that they had resurfaced so we could decide what we wanted to do and let us take our time in making up our minds. We went from white plaster to Pebble Sheen but kept our tiles and our coping and they made everything look brand new. They also replaced our heater, replaced a slab of concrete around the pool, replaced the mastic and upgraded our Compool system to be wireless. We had a couple of things that needed a little tweak but there was no issue making the changes and they got them done quickly. Resurfacing a pool is a big job but working with someone who is knowledgeable and responsive makes the whole process much easier and more enjoyable. The pool looks and works great!! read more

Sol Pacific did a great job on re-plastering our pool. Marcus was great to work with - especially with some unusual circumstances that came up with the jacuzzi. They immediately addressed the issues and we were able to work out the costs after the fact. I was very happy with the way they treated us and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a rehab/repair/replastering of an old pool. Will definitely use them again, if any needs arise! Thanks Marcus and Co.! read more

Sol Pacific just surfaced our new pool with pebbletec. We are so happy with the result. The team are professional and on schedule. They educated us on the pool's surface, the chemicals used, and the importance of how to fill the pool. We highly recommend them. read more

Sol Pacific Pool Plastering - Pool Cleaners Near Me - El Cajon, California

I recently contracted Sol Pacific to resurface my pool. My first and only interaction was with Kiersten via phone and email exchanges. She was very pleasant to deal with and gave me a quote using the view of my property on Google Earth . The crew's for the different stages of work were professional, courteous and respectful of my property. The only problem I encountered was on the project management side. All the coordination was through Kiersten via phone. I had requested to meet with the Project Manager prior to the start of the resurfacing to get an understanding of the process and pick out my surface material color. A box of samples were delivered to my door and I selected my surface color. This is completely my fault and I should have insisted to have a meeting prior to commencement of the work. The Project Manager finally showed up to my property after the hydroblasting of the pool was in process. I never saw him again. Although the work was done well, I was unaware that the color I picked (Desert Gold), once the pool was filled, would reflect a green water color. I had no idea that this would be the end resulting look that would be achieved (not at all what I wanted) however an exceptional quality product. Again, my fault for not insisting to meet in person with someone that could have informed me with a brochure, color samples or informative knowledge of the final product. Since final installation, Sol Pacific has been diligent in performing the 30 day maintenance of my pool during the curing process. With that said, upon completion of the installation, the owner, Kyle, has been completely accessible and responsive to every call and text I have placed to him to answer all my questions. I would only add/recommend that the initial contact, prior to entering into contract, would be to have a representative from the company conduct a site visit with informational literature to ensure that the client can make an informed decision for optimal end results and 100% satisfaction. Thank you Kyle and crew for an outstanding job! Kim L. read more

If I could give a half a star I would. This company has very poor moral ethics. I hate leaving a bad review but no one should have to deal with the experience we had. Their crew drank alcohol on our property twice when they finished the job I caught them and then my neighbor caught them. I n addition the attempted to cover up our old dangerous (from our 40 year old pool) electrical that was uncovered. In stead of letting us know and talking to use about it they covered it up. If it wasn't from the contractors at my house working on the interior they would have covered it up and I wouldn't have known. This company never completed the startup process (28 day process following the fill up if the pool). Their person showed up 3 times and never came back. This company should not be aloud to remain in business. read more

They did a fabulous job and were very friendly! Highly recommend and very happy with their work!!

Kyle and Billy are the nicest folks to work with at Sol Pacific. We replastered with Pebblesheen and love the results. Billy himself did the tile and it looks amazing. The crew came as scheduled, cleaned up after themselves, and were happy to answer all our questions. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the start up pool service didn't go as smoothly as expected but when I called Billy he immediately came out and resolved all the issues. It's so nice to be able to get a hold of someone! I highly recommend these guys as they are one of the few who are authorized to apply Pebbletec. Be careful when you call other companies because they say they do pebbletec but when you ask directly they will tell you it's not pebbletec but Stonescape. read more

Had trouble getting a call back in the beginning should have paid more attention. The pool is beautiful and was done quickly but there are a few problems and no one will come deal with or return my calls. Put in a pump and had to beg the pool guy to show me how to operate it. No one ever came and inspected the work or asked us if we had any concerns. Do good work but customer relations leave a lot to be desired Don't know where San Francisco came from. Although I have used Yelp frequently, this is my first time reviewing a company. But I felt like my experience with Marcus and Kyle at Sol Pacific was worth taking the time to write a review. We just completed a pretty extensive pool remodel with Sol Pacific. Right from the start they were professional, responsive and efficient. I had millions of questions and was probably a pretty high maintenance client, but they helped me understand each of the materials and options, promptly returned all my many many texts and helped me feel at ease with all the decisions (and remodeling your pool had a lot more decisions than I was anticipating). The workers who came to work were friendly and did very good work. And they never started before 7:00 in the morning. Marcus came out frequently to check on progress and and make sure everything was done perfectly. He even had them redo a few things because he knew it could be done better. I cannot recommend Sol Pacific enough. If you are looking to do a pool remodel, please give them a call. My pool looks like a brand new pool and everyone who sees it can't believe it is the same pool. I'm so unbelievably happy with how it all turned out thanks to Marcus and Kyle read more

This is a continuation of my 7/17 post and Sol's response. To be clear, I NEVER required or even requested the contract in June. This is when YOU told me you would send it to me, nothing more. When it did not show up for two weeks, I simply inquired about the status. A very simple reply from you that you were exceptionally busy with an apology for not living up to YOUR commitment would have kept the job for you!!! There is simply no excuse for not communicating and living up to your commitments. NO communication in three weeks and then being disrespected by Kyle is the problem. If this is how you treat people BEFORE they sign a contact, how can they expect anything better AFTER then sign your contract? read more

I had my pool remodeled by Sol Pacific in Jan. 2021 with a Pebble Sheen surface. The job was excellent. In July an odd approximately 6 inch wide 10 foot long curved line materialized in the deep end. It kind of looked like a shadow. I called Sol Pacific and David came out to look at it. He did not know for sure what caused it but he sprinkled a granular material on the area (this was done with a full pool) and the line disappeared almost instantly. This company's work continues to be exemplary and I am very happy that I chose them for my remodel. read more

I was surprised to see such a low rating for these guys, but after reading the previous reviews you can see these are just picky neighbors that did not actually receive any services from Sol Pacific. Sure, the crew starts as early as possible, considering the heat of the day and the manual labor this type of job entails, I do not blame them. Additionally, it's nice to have them be done around 4pm while I'm ready to let my dogs out/come home from work, etc. As far as the Management, Kyle was awesome at showing me options, working with my budget and even meeting me at a couple yards to look at material. He had to search and find the coping I wanted to use, but he found it and I'm super happy with the end result! I was able to shoot him a text if I had questions throughout the job, making it really easy to stay up to date while juggling my personal life, work, and other projects. Our pool was a huge undertaking and I was referred to Sol Pacific by another Company that was not comfortable with the size of the job. They were not the cheapest bid, but for all the work that was performed, I think it was the best value. In the end, both of the Owners came by to look at the pool with me and Nick (who handles the month of cleanings included with the re-plaster) to make sure everything was all good and answer any additional questions. Sol Pacific is a local, laid back, and great crew to work with... Thanks Kyle! read more

Sol Pacific did our Pebble Sheen and we love it! It gives our pool the SoCal beach feel without having to actually deal with the sand and parking. The color really mirrors the levels of walking into the ocean. Sol Pacific came in and made this happen for our pool. The crew worked quickly & efficiently. They were professional and precise with our zero edge & baja shelf. Really recommend! read more

Sol Pacific applied the PebbleTec for our new pool recently. It looked beautiful, but there were some spots of leftover plaster on our pool tile. David came over to take care of it, and spoke to us to make sure we were satisfied. He did a great job, and couldn't have been nicer! We're very pleased with this company's work. read more

-Based on the reply from Sol Pools, provided 48 days after my original yelp review. Sol Pools Business Owner, First, Thank you for your reply. Second, the extreme delay in your response further amplifies my point: Sol Pools has a problem with communicating...within itself and with potential clients. Let me be clear: I am certain I did not tell Kyle the estimate was for a "credit" without an intention to actually complete the work. It never crossed my mind as a buyer and would not have come up in our conversation. I'm buying the house, the pool is in desperate need of repairs that I was trying to plan for, and at this point attempting to label the exchange a misunderstanding is laughable. I was clear in all correspondence of my intention to have the pool work done and my need for the estimate to help me assess expenses. At any point between the initial visit on May 26th and June 12th, Kyle or Sol Pools could have replied to any one of my several attempts to clarify any misunderstanding. At the very least, ANY reply to my many messages to let me know Sol Pools did not want my business would have been more professional than being dishonest about sending the estimate or not replying at all. Your reply accepts zero responsibility, offers no apology for poor professional communication, and instead offers a flimsy excuse that borders on being accusatory. Lastly, I contacted Sol Pools only because they were recommended by my Realtor. I have shared my correspondence with and made their offices aware of my experience. I am sure other potential clients are savvy enough to contact former Sol clients or find the similar reviews (on this site and others) that also disclose the problematic communication. Sincerely, David read more

Earlier this month we contracted with Sol Pacific to refurbishing our swimming pool. It was apparent from the start of the project that we were dealing with a company that had extensive knowledge and years of experience. The company representative Mr. Kyle Buettgenbach, was extremely helpful in helping us decide the correct products and highlights for our pool. At each stage of the operation Kyle was on the job just to ensure that everything planned and expected happened. We certainly enjoyed the relationship with this company and would recommend this company to family friends or anyone that needs a competent professional company. In closing their pricing is quite competitive in industry standards. Sincerely, J.G. Ney read more

We used them for pool resurfacing and have used their services for maintenance ever since. They do a great job and prices are fair.

We decided to build a new pool acting as the owner/contractor which means hiring all of the sub contractors for the pool process. After dealing with all of the subcontractors I would have to say dealing with Kyle at Sol Pacific was a pleasant experience! He did what some of the other subcontractors didn't do; show up when he said he would, didn't try to up sell or add extras, he promptly answered phone calls and texts, his crew cleaned up after themselves, they were friendly, courteous and most of all did an outstanding job on our pool! Not only did they pebble our pool, they did the tile and quartz coping. Some of the other subs who came on the job commented how good his work was. Their price was competitive and we would recommend them to anyone we know! read more

We just needed the surface on our jacuzzi redone and Sol Pacific did an amazing job! The work area was kept clean and safe and the Pebble finish looks amazing! After some extensive research, and a referral from my cousin (who owns pool cleaning business), we decided to have Sol Pacific come out and give us a quote for resurfacing and redoing all of the plumbing in our existing pool. Their quote was very reasonable with another we were considering and we decided to go with them. As of writing this today, our pool is done and I could not be happier with the job Sol Pacific did! The whole process was fantastic. Marcus was the primary contact for our project and was extremely responsive and attentive to us through the whole job. He came out countless times to oversee progress, help out, and ensure we were taken care of. He even took us to another job site they had just completed to walk us through options, talk to someone that went through the process with them, and get a good feel for what we wanted. When we decided on colors, tile, and coping, their team got right to work. They drained the pool, took out all of the existing plaster down to the rebar and put in new coping, tile, Pebble Sheen, and plumbing. Working around multiple contractors we had doing a rock feature and pavers, they got everything completed and hooked up perfectly. The final product hit the mark beyond expectations. It is gorgeous and we could not be happier. Marcus and Sol Pacific come with my highest possible recommendation! read more

Outstanding pool replaster job. Pool turned out beautiful. Went with the Pebble Sheen. Owner, Marcus Carrillo, very professional and responsive to our concerns, design style, changes and timeline. Crew always on schedule, at site when they said they would be, and responsive to questions and concerns throughout the work. Communication with Marcus excellent. Call backs always in a timely manner. Would highly recommend. Although not a pool builder, perhaps they should be. Integrity of the company far surpassed our experience with the original pool builder. read more

Had a few bids for resurfacing our spa and getting a new pump/heater. I also had to run the gas line underground (previous owner did not do it to code and had it above ground). Overall they were the most reasonably priced bid. The work they did was good. I am giving only 3 stars for poor communication, particularly after the work was done. Kyle was my point of contact and when the new equipment was in, I wanted him to run me through the setup and how to operate things. It was a hassle trying to get a hold of him, and when we finally arranged a time to meet, I specifically told him I wouldn't be home until a certain time, and he went ahead and showed up before I got home, checked that the spa was working and left. I missed him by about 10 minutes and when I called him I was too frustrated to have him come back so I just said forget it, just tell me over the phone how to turn things on. read more

Sol Pacific did a great job on our pool. The pricing was competitive, and the crew members were friendly, skilled and conscientious. David was very willing to share his knowledge of pools and took the time to explain how to care for our new pool. Our only concern was that we wish we were kept more informed on the timing of the various phases of the work. But, overall, we heartily recommend Sol Pacific Pool Plastering. read more

As a pool contractor, I deal with different subcontractors on a daily basis. I slso see the side of pool contractors that most clients don't get to see. Sol Pacific is one of the best pool plastering companies out there. They provide high quality work at a low cost and don't cut corners. I have seen them go out of their way many times to help one of clients out and always are on top of their follow up.
