What a nice change to find a professionally run company. If you're like me, you've noticed that customer service and quality work is hit or miss; and both have really fallen off a cliff the last couple of years. Poolscape is the way workmanship and customer service used to be and thank you for that! We contracted them to refinish a worn out fiberglass pool with plaster. We also asked them to build an extension to the steps to create a bench. The work started on time and some unavoidable weather delays aside finished on time. The various work crews were on time, clean, professional and responsible. Overall a very good project team! Communication with the office was good. We were called back in a reasonable time frame if we had to leave a message; email the same thing. From sales to cleanup and water treatment it was a first class experience. There were a few bumps in the road along the way with some work not as correct or detailed as it needed to be but what matters is how they are handled; which was fast and professionally. They even had the owner come in to inspect one of our concerns and not only was that fixed quickly but he also made a great suggestion to modify that new bench area a bit to make it more useful and eye pleasing. I wish more companies took care of their customers like this. I will happily recommend Poolscape to friends and happily call them again when needed! read more

When it was time to renovate our pool, I shopped around and called every pool company in San Diego. I decided to go with poolscape because they had a good price and lots of great reviews with satisfied customers. I think ultimately we had a pretty good experience. There were a few setbacks and minor issues that needed to be redone but that's usually to be expected when doing a pretty major renovation project. All in all, they did a wonderful job and our pool looks pristine and works terrifically. I know they were very busy during the height of covid but they made sure we were happy campers and for that I have no complaints. incase you are wondering we picked out travertine coping and glass tile from Aquabella in the nightlife collection (melody block random and 2x1 for the accent). We just had our pool resurfaced. To start Kirk helped us pick a surface and tiles for the steps. And we drew up a contract. The day before the demo the workers came and installed new lights. Everything went quite smoothly. The day of the demo was pretty dusty and loud but again the workers were polite. The next day we had the new tiles set on the steps and benches (those cannot be saved in the demo process. The actual day of the resurfacing went real good. John Morgan and his crew were masterful in placing the pebble finish. This crew not only worked hard but looked like they really enjoyed doing this project together ( lots of kidding and joking). We started filling the pool the next day after the pool was acid washed. A couple of days later Kirk's son-in-law showed up to set up the chemicals for the water. I pointed out a couple of tiles that had some of the pebble "goop" on them. He said that was common and they would have a guy clean them up. After being at the desert for a week I arrived home and found some light streaks in the deep end. I called Kirk and he assured me that happens quite frequently. He said if the water has a tendency to pull a little of the lime of the cement out of the concrete. The next morning a worker showed up and cleaned the tiles and did an acid treatment to the areas that needed it. The pool now looks great! All Kirk's workers showed up when they were supposed to and were very personable. They all seemed happy with their job and knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. read more

After Poolscape's renovations -- with new Pebble Tec instead of plaster, modernization of inlets and outlets, installation of automatic water flow as needed, new pumps for the pool, spa, and waterfall, digital lighting, and new (and beautiful) tiles to mark steps and depth changes -- we now have a 2024 pool, with big smiles. This company has honest, efficient, hard-working, caring people who were (and we are sure always are) communicative and pleasant throughout. We have a very steep driveway so that some of their industrial equipment could not access it; no worries, they worked around this with human-powered tools and still more than met their original estimate of time and funds to upgrade the pool. While there are numerous people behind the scenes, we especially laud owner/operator Kirk Chapman, Trevor for knowing what we needed and how to get there, Stephanie our main contact, and tile, grout, and general expert Francisco ("Paco"). Unbelievable. The coping was next, then the tile. Duane, Alvaro and his brother did an expert job with that. Next was the pebble coating, this team were artists! I never thought the pool could look so good. Francisco did the acid wash and a 2-day chemical start up. Within one hour the pool was crystal clear! Today Eddy filled in the coping. I would HIGHLY recommend Kirk and Poolscape Unlimited! I spent months and months researching the different pool finishes looking for the perfect color. It was so frustrating when everyone's comments were "it depends on time of day, depth of water, surroundings, etc."! I wanted the baja shelf to be the same color as the pool, seemed pretty simple. Our 20 year old plaster pool was in sorry shape, and needed resurfacing. I contacted 8 pool resurfacing companies for bids, got 6 quotes and chose Poolscape Unlimited based on responsiveness and good reviews, and honestly, I liked the pictures of the work they've done. I'm extremely happy with my choice. Demolition of the old surface included chiseling out and coating rusted rebar that was staining the old plaster, and fixing a leaking light in the spa. The area was left as clean or cleaner than when the crew showed up. The plastering crew was very efficient, to a man everyone knew what to do, when to do it and what to do to support the other crew members. Some of the best teamwork I've ever seen. And it only took half a day. Lots of long time employees, which to me means this company takes good care of them, and they have lots of experience. In August 2017 we hired the company to renovate my parents 40+ year old Anthony pool ... remove and replace plaster (no small task) and remove and replace tile surround.  We also asked for a referral to reseal the deck as that was not Poolscape's focus.   The Poolscape team came in and jack hammered out the old plaster, did so quickly and efficiently and then did a great job with the new plaster and nice blue tile.  The new plaster has a great texture, making it less slippery underwater, thus a bit safer for my folks.  They even managed to get the original underwater light working again. The challenge came with the company referred to do the deck work.  At the time the scheduling was a bit clunky, a not exceedingly impressive young worker ended up doing a good portion of the work, but in the end it's the detail that is the challenge.  I just spent a week at my folks', in the pool every day.  Each day I shook my head at the deck sealer that had been splattered on the blue tile in spots.  More annoying was the fact that the sealant didn't completely cover the old deck to the water line, thus when wet the contrast between the old and new really stands out and looks bad.   Three years on we have some of the sealer peeling on the deck surface as well.     At the time of the work I nudged a bit to get these details taken care, but to no avail.  I wishe I would have pushed harder then.      Overall, hiring Poolscape was a good decision and one I would make again, but would have done things differently as far as vetting and managing their deck partner. read more
