It's been awhile since I've been in but was well pleased with my taco dish. I'd have it again

FINALLY found a good Mexican restaurant near Queen Creek. This has taken years for me to uncover this. Food was hot and salsa was tasty. My husband's Carne Asada burrito had so much flavor he didn't have to use any salsa - unheard of in almost all of AZ. Very reasonably priced. Workers are kind but don't expect table service. This is more of a taqueria style restaurant. This is our new go-to place. I had a carne asada quesadilla. We also shared a red sauce cheese enchilada/crispy shredded beef taco plate with rice and beans. We wanted to try a bit of everything. All of it was great! read more

Great food. Good service - not overly friendly, but decent. Busy walk in taco shop. Folks picking up food and staying to eat. Dining area is small. Indoor and outdoor. This is in a strip mall. We had the crispy shredded beef tacos with rice and beans. All very good. The salsa bar was ok. If I could be picky about anything it would be improving the heat and flavor of the sauces/salsa. Like others have said, not sure why this place has such high reviews. The salsas in the salsa bar are flavorless, the fajitas lack onion and the peppers are severely undercooked. The Arizona burrito is filled with a beef that resembles stewed beef, not carne asada. This place is NOT remarkable, which leads me to believe a majority of the 5 star reviews are plants. read more

Solid spot for authentic Mexican food in south east Mesa. I've been here a few times and the food has always been good. I like that they offer unique options that you don't see everywhere like sopes and huaraches which are more typical of the central and south regions of Mexico. This time around I tried the tapiquena which was tasty and very filling. Their horchata is one of the best in town and I highly recommend it. The place itself it's unassuming and casual. You order at the counter and the food gets taken to your table. I think it's very fairly priced. They don't sell alcohol if that is something you are looking for. read more

Four stars...because the food is good and it's really popular. I'll have to try more dishes before I can give out the last star. First time here and we got in just before the Friday night rush. Lots of dine in and to go orders which means the locals really love this place. The website says traditional Me Ivan and it makes me curious what part of Mexico the flavors come from. They were definitely different than the Tex-Mex flavors I grew up on. But very tasty. The Pollo Especial had a good green sauce which was not too spicy but very flavorful. My wife had the Pollo con Queso which I am definitely getting next time. Yum! All the other dishes they brought out looked good too. With a small but well-kept salsa bar and friendly staff, this place would be a good choice for a Mexican-food craving. read more

I love coming here because it's good but today was not the case I decided to try something new. That's being the huarache with carne asada. Well I was not happy with what I was given/ tasting. They do have a sign on the door about the avocados. But come on these avocados where more brown than green and I got 3 slivers of it on this huge huarache. The carne asada has definitely changed since the last time I've been there. I would also recommend that they switch to fresh lettuce because this bagged lettuce just makes the whole meal gross tasting I got so much lettuce it took away from the whole meal. We also got chips and salsa. I want to say every time I've ordered it, it's been red salsa and today we got green for some reason. My daughter got the sopes and she enjoyed them The horchata was tasty as always The staff was nice and friendly I should have checked my food before leaving though. read more

The food was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered a veggie fajita burrito enchilada style, and it was bursting with flavor. I also got a side of queso to pour over my rice and beans, which were already tasty on their own but even better with the queso. Service was great! In these times of rising prices, it's refreshing to find a place that still offers great value for money, and this restaurant hits the mark perfectly. On our recent visit, we both opted for the chimichangas from the lunch specials, and they were a delight. The chimichangas were generously filled with shredded beef - a pleasant change from other places that tend to bulk up the filling with beans. Here, the beans are rightly served on the side, along with rice. And let's not forget the guacamole topping - just the right touch! Drink too! On a previous visit, I tried their quesadilla, which was notably unique. The use of a fresh corn tortilla made it a standout dish. It's these little touches that make each meal here memorable. Really I haven't had anything that I disliked here. For us, supporting small businesses is important, but it's a bonus when the food is not only delicious but also reasonably priced. I'm giving this 5 stars for what it is--a step above a hole-in-the-wall with great flavors and super tender meat. I had asada and carnitas street tacos and Brett had pollo con queso. The horchata had flecks of coconut, which wasn't my favorite, but that's just me. I think we found our new go-to Mexican place. read more

Had this place bookmarked for years and was working in the area today so I got take out to bring home for my husband and I! My husband got carne asada with shredded mozzarella and two sides of rice. I got an Azteca burrito with veggies and an order of chips and queso. My burrito did get a tiny bit soggy on the long drive home but the air fryer fixed that. It was super flavorful, I loved trying al the salsa too I think the chipotle one was my favorite. (Or some sort of roasted tomato salsa?). The queso was the tiniest bit lumpy but the flavor was good and I still ate it! Glad I got to check this place out. read more

This was my first time having the Azteca Burrito served up chimichanga style.... Let me tell you - DO IT!!!! It added an entirely new level of deliciousness to this burrito and I don't think I can go back to a regular burrito after having had this. Life changing!! read more

We absolutely love Sol Aztecs. We ALWAYS have excellent service from everyone. The food is some of the best I've had in Arizona. The carnitas ante the best I have ever had. On this visit I tried the nachos and I wasn't disappointed. Tuesday's are of course busy but worth the wait. They are pretty fast at getting orders out. My husband orders the three enchiladas just about every time that's how good they are. He also really enjoys the fish tacos. read more

I want to come back so I can give 5 stars! Husband ordered the tacos and I had the black bean salad with shrimp. I'd get that salad again! So good! Good size shrimps and tasty! Especially with a small salsa bar but glad they have it available. Love the Horchata with apples and I think mine had coconut pieces. Whatever it was it's was good! A bit sweet for me but after sharing with husband on the drink I added more ice. It's like I have another full drink. Will be back for sure. My daughter recommended this Resto. Well reviewed family run business but lacking the wow that other reviews mentioned. Both times I have eaten here was after rave reviews of regulars. The food was OK, but rather plain. Don't let the exterior/strip mall location fool you. The food here is savory and the portions are huge! It's got sit down seating inside, but more like Jimmy John's than a typical Mexican restaurant. Again though, the food! My wife had chicken and beef taquitos which she said were awesome. The rice was really good as well. Unfortunately I didn't check into Yelp before we ordered and paid, so I didn't get to use the 10% off coupon that came up, but to even things out I made sure to take 10% of my wife's rice off her plate. She didn't find it as amusing as I did but that's okay. I had the AZ Burrito, which was awesome! The next time I might have them put a little melty cheese on it or something though as it was a tad dry but it wasn't enough to ruin the flavor. This is a combination fast food and sit-down restaurant in a strip mall, so if you want ambiance keep going. But if you want excellent food, with lots of variety, this is a great place.
