We used to love going to this restaurant. I know the previous owner passed away. We sure do miss him. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. When you enter, the counter you order at is directly in front of you. They have digital menu boards to the right and a self-serve soda fountain to the left. You order at the counter. They give you a number and they bring it to your seat. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The seating area inside the restaurant has about five tables. Seating outside has a few round picnic style tables with umbrellas. We ordered one Machaca burrito and one Carne Asada burrito. I used to love the Machaca at this restaurant. It was always full of tomatoes and onions, peppers and shredded meat, but on today's visit, I felt it was lacking all of the above. I will say the meat was seasoned well, but there wasn't much inside my burrito. Please see photos below. The Carne Asada burrito was a little bit larger. It consisted of pico, guacamole, beans, cheese, and grilled steak. The steak had a nice char on it. We each ordered a side of green chili. It was decent, but definitely did not have that New Mexican Hatch green chili flavor that I was searching for. I will say I do enjoy their chips and salsa. Just an ok experience here at best. We arrived and mentioned we were new here, and the person behind the counter wasn't very helpful. We ordered the fry bread and a tostada, it was like we got 2 tostadas. We didn't know ( had to ask ) where any salsas were as the items came out with no seasoning whatsoever, bland as can be. Nondescript hole in the wall hidden away in a strip mall. No frills. Complimentary chips and interesting salsa. Little watery. This place rocks! The food was awesome, the service was great, and the pricing is perfect. I went there with the intention of getting a green chile plate. I'm glad I asked how hot it was, and they answered honestly and said pretty hot. I tried some from my brother-in-laws plate and boy was it hot! Very tasty though. This is a small diner-type restaurant. Step right up to the counter and place your order after perusing the extra-large menu. I love the Fry Bread (topped with ground beef, I get it with a side of red sauce) and my husband loves the Huevos Rancheros (with Christmas sauce). Both are delicious and served up hot. Today (6/8/26) 3 buddies of mine took me here for the first time, one of them already knowing of this place but hadn't been in awhile. To put it PLAIN-ly the food was quite disappointing. We all got different items but yet all 4 of us felt that the food was very low quality and plain. Thankfully I hadn't eaten much of my food before deciding to go speak to the worker about specifically the overpriced VERY low quality and obviously processed guacamole I paid $4 bucks for a small portion that had browned in certain spots from not being sealed properly. I asked where they get their guacamole which she reacted as if she didn't know at first before I asked "do you make it in house?" (Cuz that would justify the pricing) which she quickly said yes (it very much is NOT house made) I clearly didn't believe her and continued to explain that not only was the guacamole sub-par, but the food I got (3 piece rolled beef tacos) was in reality three small taquitos that didn't taste much of anything other than plain dry beef or dog food. About two bites into my "rolled taco" that's when I decided to say something. She didn't say much in regards of a refund until I said so which she said yes to if I gave the food back (fyi I work in the food/restaurant industry, you NEVER ask for the food back especially in order to give a refund) she continued to only refund me $11 of the $17 I spent because I couldn't return my Horchata (which was also not the best) THIS is also when I FINALLY get told that I got UPCHARGED for paying with card and not cash (fyi if a restaurant up charges for paying with card, they are either required to have a sign that is noticeably visible which as far as I know, they did not have. OR tell you while they ask whether you would like to pay with cash or card) so to discover I had gotten upcharged at THIS time left a sour taste in my mouth (the only flavor I tasted tonight) After our bad experience, we quickly ended up leaving unsatisfied. We decided to look at reviews online afterwards and have discovered that the previous owner of this place had passed away, so we are assuming that the friend that had been here previously, had been when the previous owner was still alive and as far as what he would say "the owner would be screaming at them and rolling in his grave... that's just disgusting..." read more

I've been coming here infrequently for about 15 years. It's a solid place for standard fare Mexican food. The dining area has about a dozen tables inside along the Southern wall and there's a patio for outdoor dining but no views to speak of except the parking lot and the adjacent building. It's been awhile since I've dined in as I discovered the takeout orders are fast and convenient. The cashier is always friendly and the overall service has always been good. I've never had any issues with my orders. I typically get the combination plates with a mix of beef or carne asada tacos or a burrito. The green chile pork is also pretty good. One of the items that is a little more unique here is they serve frybread, from plain to sweet to loaded with meat. They also have breakfast frybread options. The frybread isn't quite as amazing as traditional frybread I had as a child, but it still quenches a thirst I have about 1x a year for frybread. Worth a drop in if you've never been here. I think it's better than the chain-like places around, but not as good as an amazing larger sit-down dining establishment. read more

Whoa, so we came here for Date Night, normally we have it on Sunday but this location is closed on Sunday's. Worth the wait. Janna ordered the Bean and Cheese Fry Bread and I ordered the Machaca Fry Bread! It was so good, we had so much food, we brought half of it home. The staff here is great, it's a sit down restaurant kinda but not really but they make you feel super welcome and come and check on you from time to time. I asked for Hot Sauce and he brought me a bottle of it, it was super spicy but the good spicy where it had heat but still an excellent flavor. My meal was good before but this added like a +3! I'll 100% ask for it the next time we come back. Janna liked it as well, so we ordered a quart to go! So worth it. This place rocks, we will definitely be back. If you are looking for some good food, this is your place! We found this place looking for fry bread, and it did not disappoint. I got the Carne Asada Burrito and the meat was so good and had a good ratio of ingredients in the burrito which almost never happens to me. Also go the fry bread with powdered sugar and put honey it on. My new goal is to go back and get one of their many fry breads that are savory. The employees were absolutely wonderful and very helpful. Another member of our group did get a green Chile burrito and said it was spicy so if spicy isn't for you, beware. My husband has tried this place but the family had not, so for his birthday we ordered for pick up last night. There were six of us and we got the carne asada fries, some variations of fry bread, chicken taquitos, sopaipillas, a carne asada burrito, and chicken tacos. All of it was fresh and excellent. We have a couple of refried bean connoisseurs in the group and they raved about them. Same for the carne asada fries - not something I ever order but the two people who got them said they were the best they've had. This was ready turbo speed, but was not fresh. The food was lukewarm, and as you can see, the cheese wasn't even melted on my nachos. There was a sparse sprinkle of pico de gallo on them. This place is great. One of my faves. But I will not return. They turned my party away at the door 30 minutes before close. They close at 8 but more like 7:30 if they don't feel like staying open until then. Don't need my business, or that of my party that could potentially return numerous times. Our first time here. The food is too bland. Their free salsa that comes with chips was so runny and bland, too bad because the chips were good. My Xmas Sauce chicken enchiladas and husband's green chile pork burrito were also bland. To the point my husband cannot finish his food, which is the first for him. On top of it all, we found out later that we were hit with a credit card surcharge of 3% for using credit card to pay! This just sealed the deal for us--we will not be back again. Been there a few times it's always been decent but a little disappointed in the service on our last visit. Wife ordered extra sauce to go with their tacos, burritos, etc., and willing to pay for it and she did. They said you get two or something like that with the mail, but they didn't give us those either and she ordered chips which is supposed to come with salsa, but they didn't wanna give her the salsa that comes with the chips because she wanted extra from the beginning. Closest place to NM food in AZ! Came for their breakfast plates. I got the chorizo egg scramble which came with beans and potatoes. My first initial bite of the chorizo was a bit too salty however once I dug in a little more, it balanced out with the sides. Every bite was delicious with the Xmas chili. The food here is awesome. The service and communication from the staff is not. Be warned, these folks are really weird with chips and salsa. If you go in and order food and sit by yourself, you'll get chips and salsa. If you go in and order food and sit with someone else, you are expected to share the chips and salsa that the other folks got and are probably built into the pricing of your meal. We met some friends there and ordered separately. We asked the person who brings food if the second pair that joined us will get their own chips and salsa since we had already been eating ours when they sat down. They said yes they'd go check. They never came back to say yes or no. We had to go to the counter to ask. Just poor customer service over something so small. Is it really worth the cost of chips and salsa to annoy a customer? We stopped in for a late lunch today. Steff had a bean & cheese burrito and I had a carne asada burrito. They weren't busy, so we got our order in right away and served within 5-10 minutes. Best all around experience we've had here with Mexican food places since we moved here 5 years ago. The food was excellent and very tasty. First time here and definitely not my last. I was looking for some sopapillas and decided to order their #4 green chile pork burrito. I decided to est there instead of trying to juggle my food, while driving. My food came rather quickly. Great presentation. I ordered my sauce to be spicy and it didn't even have a cake... Honestly it was a little dry. I would've expected and/or appreciated more sauce. The pork was nice and tender and I love the start they didn't overpower the burrito with lots of cheese on top. The rice was good, pretty moist and the beans were ok. The sopapillas were a bit under cooked... they need a little color. I was expecting them to be deep-fried, that's how I have traditionally had them in Española and Chimayo, New Mexico. I was a bit put off when I paid for my meal and was asked to leave a tip starting out at a minimum of 15%. I haven't even been served yet how would I know, if they even deserve one. They never once came to my table and followed up with me and everything came on paper plates. I don't think it justified a 15% gratuity. Next time I will leave my own tip.
