Their business practice is disappointing. I was given the message "confirmed" for our services. I was told that "in the mean time" I would need to provide my address/email/etc. I was busy during the week and waited 2 days to respond. I was told 30 hours before my appointment that our business was "canceled" because we had not completed our information. I responded immediately and offered the information but was not given a response for over 7 hours. Now I must find last minute cleaning. Poor communication, poor business practice. Very disappointing. Edit: After posting this review, I received some very rude and disrespectful messages. Just an FYI, this is how I was spoken to. Screenshots attached. read more

Soji Cleaners - Home Cleaning Near Me

I have never written a negative review on Yelp in my entire life. I truly try to see the best in people, but we did not have a positive experience with this company. Unfortunately the photos posted are just a small sample of areas not cleaned during our "deep clean". The individual (I presume owner) that I messaged with when booking the cleaning was pleasant and responded in timely fashion when I was trying to confirm booking. However, things quickly went down hill from there. My husband sent me these photos after the cleaners had left and mentioned that in addition to this the floor to ceiling windows of our back deck door were left untouched. In fact, the cleaners who came didn't even have the appropriate supplies, as indicated by my husband providing them with glass cleaner when they came back a second time as a result of me sending the following photos. The owner seemed to feel badly and made me believe that I would not be charged (perhaps a misunderstanding if the owner was referring to only the time when the cleaner came back to help my husband try to do the job we were paying for) so I actually was prepared to write a positive review on him taking accountability for the poor service. However, that is not what occurred. The cherry on top of this experience was coming home from work and seeing that the kitchen cabinets we had professionally painted last month (photo example of just one cabinet below..unfortunately they are all this way) have what appear to be droplet like markings/streaks on them that will not come off. So I was charged 142 bucks when my husband spent over an hour re cleaning our place and we now have damaged cabinets. We got our bill which indicates they worked through 11:46 AM when texts from my spouse indicate they left (at the latest) 10 minutes prior. They charge .50 cents a minute so this comes out to being overcharged by about 10 bucks which is extra frustrating considering the extremely poor quality of work. We hired this company to do a deep clean in preparation for photographs to list our place for sale, so obviously this was fairly important. I think these photos and the fact that my husband had to spend an additional hour fixing our place speaks for itself. Update: after posting this review the owner reached out and ultimately acknowledged that the clean was not up to their standards. He did refund my entire payment, so I do appreciate the fact that accountability was taken. Additionally he asked follow up questions to try to improve the experience in the future read more

Such great service! I highly recommend Anastasia & Laura. They did a spotless job on my one bedroom apartment. They were kind, professional, and extremely good. read more

I utilized Soji cleaners for a deep clean of my 2Bed/2Bath in Chicago. The coordination beforehand was great, Sofia was there by text every step of the way. The cleaners arrived on time and spent a LONG time making sure everything was addressed. I left during the cleaning and was able to receive questions and communicate preferences via text. They left no item unturned (first thing they did was go around the house and move things away from the walls in order to get under the items and all the way to the baseboards). Highly recommend utilizing Soji, I will be contacting them in the future for quarterly cleanings! read more

This establishment is among the most superior I have ever encountered when it comes to cleaning. I lick test every single surface in my living quarters both before and after the cleaning services I use perform their duties. The crevice between the fridge and the wall, the toilet bowl, the door handles - it gets licked and logged. I also innovated and created an analyzer tool that didn't exist in any market. I procured a high school microscope for looking into Petri dishes. I made engineering modifications and removed the base to create a free flowing spectral analyzer. I go over every cubic centimeter - centigrade and Fahrenheit in my analysis. Every test I conducted they passed with flying colors. I have never eaten a single meal off a surface in my house that wasn't directly the floor. So their stellar service was invaluable. Thanks guys great job. read more

Best Value. Convenient. Reliable and On time Pick Up and Delivery. Excellent service and communication. Best quality and care. During Covid we picked up Italian Sandwiches and th oil from the peppers soaked straight through the To- Go bag sitting on my lap right unto my down winter coat. Resulting in a lot of oil stains. I got quotes from a half dozen places and Soji was quite competitive. They delivered within 48hrs, payment was easy and hands free, and courteous. I am so exited about such a great job they did! Soji performed above and beyond care in getting all of the stains out (even the old ones) with the immaculate cleaning they did on my down winter coat. Now, the whole family will be using Soji from now on. read more

Always happy when I get a cleaning with Soji Cleaners.

Awesome experience with Soji cleaners. We used them for move out of our apartment. They were very responsive, on time & did a great job. They were great value compared to other cleaners I called in the city & ultimately did an excellent job. They took the time to deep clean all the appliances and do it thoroughly. Definitely recommend! Will be using them again if I need a cleaning in my new place. read more

I try to keep my place clean but with 2 Australian Shepherds, it's impossible to keep it sparkly clean. First off, can we talk about the price? $30/person/hour!! I called around and this is the best price I could find in Chicago! Second, great communication! I messaged Elvis through Yelp and didn't get a response so I ended up calling him. He picked up right away and was very friendly. My appointment was scheduled for noon, but an hour before my appointment time, I received a call. The cleaning lady was running behind so Elvis let me know that the cleaner will be coming an hour later. Third, my house was super clean after the cleaning lady left! I got a deep clean of my house. The baseboards were wiped clean. The carpeted bedroom had no trace of any fur (or barely any fur). The bathrooms were wiped and cleaned very well. The kitchen looked amazing. The cleaning took around 3 hours and she did a great job! You do not have to provide any cleaning supplies since they bring their own. There were some spots that were missed (not a huge deal), but honestly for the price, I can't complain. I will definitely be booking another deep clean with Soji Cleaners next month! read more

Soji was a godsend when I needed my room and bathroom cleaned in my old apartment. Vanessa was fantastic! She does such an amazing job with the cleaning and is so sweet. Their prices are the best I've seen and the quality of cleaning is top notch. I would highly recommend Elvis and his company any day! read more

I originally booked Soji Cleaners because they had good reviews and were prompt in responding to my request for a quote. The pricing was also straightforward. I hired them was to deep clean 2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen. Nothing else. I also said I wanted the fridge and oven cleaned. When the day came, I was told the cleaners were going to be late because their earlier appointment ran long as the customer ahead of me changed the request to a deep clean. Eventually, one (instead of the promised two) folks came a couple hours late and by the time he got here, we came to realize he didn't have the proper supplies to do an oven cleaning or stainless steel cleaning. He even had to use my cleaning supplies, including sponges and a whole roll of paper towels. Overall disappointed and would not recommend. read more

Love Soji Cleaners! I've been using them for over a year and they do an excellent job consistently. I get a deep clean once per month at a great value. They are always on time and Elvis, the owner, gets me on the schedule as soon as I reach out (so responsive). They pass my impossibly high standards and I will forever use them as my cleaners. I have recommended them to my friends and will continue to do so! read more

Best cleaners I've hired since I moved to Chicago nine years ago. Will definitely be calling them again. Took longer than I expected on some things, but also did more than I expected. Very thorough. read more

I'd like to begin by stating that this is probably only the second time I've ever written a review for a company. The cleaning service provided here is truly exceptional. They left no stone unturned, even cleaning the inside of the fridge. I had some reservations about whether I'd get my money's worth for a cleaning, as we typically handle cleaning ourselves and don't usually hire a service. However, they exceeded all my expectations. If you're in the market for a cleaning service, look no further and schedule an appointment here. The online payment process is smooth, and they are diligent in confirming and reconfirming the appointment when the cleaners are due to arrive. Our house hasn't been this clean in years, and we clean regularly, especially with two dogs and a two-year-old. You wouldn't even know we had pets or a toddler around. I'm sure, like me, you may read reviews with a bit of skepticism, but I want to emphatically recommend this company. You'll absolutely get your money's worth, experience outstanding customer service, and end up with an immaculately clean home. I can't fathom the negative reviews because I am incredibly impressed and grateful for their hard work. Thank you, Soji! You'll definitely be hearing from us again. read more

Soji cleaners always do an excellent job at cleanibg my home. The ladies always come with their own supplies, even though they are welcome to use mine if they like. My place always ends up spotless. Highly recommend! read more

Hiring cleaners is hit or miss. Some will quote you hourly, per person, #of room, etc etc. Other will even have you pay for their parking if you live in Chicago!!! I hired Soji cleaners because of their rating (5-stars) and the best quote. Elvis and the crew and the crew did not disappoint me. Elvis was very prompt and responsive. I pointed a spot in the bathroom that was missed and he came the next day to clean it. No back and forth and trying to defend their work compared to other cleaning companies. I would definitely recommend this company for you cleaning needs. read more

late review, but I hired Soji Cleaners to do a clean of my vacant apartment after I moved out of it in April 2022. I asked them to sweep, mop, do baseboards, inside and outside of appliances and cabinets, and to get all cob webs. After they cleaned. The outside of the cabinets still needed attention, baseboards were also not cleaned and the cobwebs that were there before they cleaned still remained, and the dust/hair they cleaned up in the floor somehow seemed to be stuck and all over the walls. It only cost $120, which was cheap, but the quality of work explains that. I should have complained the day of and sent photos, but I was so over that apartment and ready to move on I just let it go. read more

I really liked there service, although one of the workers was slower than the other. There were a few things I noticed when they left but it wasn't a big deal to not rehire. I recommend because it's all online, a fast turnaround time, and easy pay out. read more

The pricing ($35/hr) is reasonable but some of the business practices seem dishonest. To start, there is a $20 hold required before cleaning can begin. I was not informed of this, and was sent the invoice via email 20 minutes after my cleaning was to begin. I immediately paid the $20 invoice and was told cleaning would begin. I requested that my 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom 750 sq ft apartment be cleaned as part of a move-out process. The apartment was clean in general, but I needed a deeper cleaning for the oven and the bathroom. After two or three hours had passed, I called to ask if the cleaning was completed. I was told it was not. To make a long story short, one cleaner did not finish my apartment until *FIVE* hours later. As it neared hour five, I called again and just told the owner to please tell the cleaner to leave; at this point the service was no longer saving me money, and in fact was probably costing me more than if I had just accepted the charges from the cleaning company my building uses. After calling and explaining this, I was told I would not be charged for more than five hours. I was never told when the cleaner actually left my apartment, but I did receive a receipt -- not an invoice -- a couple of hours later via email. My card had already been charged the total, regardless of what had been done in the apartment. It's clear that the $20 deposit is used only to take your payment information so the company can charge whatever they want when cleaning is "completed." I have no idea how a relatively clean, 750 sq ft apartment inhabited by one woman takes 5 hours to clean, nor do I have any idea what the cleaner was doing the whole time. Buyer beware. I would not recommend Soji to other apartment renters in Chicago. read more

I requested a quote for a deep cleaning of my 800 square foot home as a birthday present to myself. Elvis, the proprietor, responded within minutes!! He gave me a reasonable quote and asked for a list of specific areas to be cleaned. My kitchen cabinets and walls needed to be wiped down and he did a fantastic job. After each room was finished he asked me to take a look to ensure my satisfaction. My bathroom, in particular, was gleaming. More than just doing a good job, Elvis was super friendly and very respectful of me and my home. I have two nervous dogs; by the end of the cleaning they were in love with Elvis. He took the time to learn their names and talk to them. I highly recommend this company. Especially if you're like me and don't normally use a cleaning company. Elvis was a pleasure to work with and put me (and my dogs) at ease. *You can pay with your credit card after the cleaning! read more

Great customer service - I reached out on Saturday and booked an appointment for Monday morning at 9AM. Two cleaners arrived to my home and cleaned everything in 3 hours. They were efficient and brought all their own supplies. Staff was professional and polite. I will definitely be using Soji Cleaners again! read more

Elvis was quite responsive and worked with me for picking a good time. Cleaners showed up on time and were very nice, that's where all the good ends. The cleaners did ok at best but took extremely long. One guy did two bathrooms and it took him over an hour and a half after they commented how clean they were before they started. One of my cabinets was stained with stove degreaser and they broke a $30 microwave clip during cleaning I need to replace. If you don't have much to clean get a flat rate with someone else, these guys go by the hour and they will milk it which I get because I really only needed kitchen and bathrooms to be done. read more

Hired for a move-in at the last minute. Cleaners were good- courteous of me and working from home, relatively thorough, and worked quickly. One of the two cleaners was about a half hour late (but the price was adjusted for that) and they missed a few spots I specifically pointed out before starting. The per/hour pricing was very fair and included their own products (which was needed since I didn't have anything in the new place). Price was reasonable and working with the front desk to coordinate everything was easy. All-in-all, would probably hire again. read more

I highly recommend these cleaners. Monique and Tamika came and did an amazing job. They were fast, efficient, and very communicative. I requested quotes from 5 different cleaners and Soji Cleaners had the best prices! I'm so glad I went with them. Communication was fast and reliable and answered any questions I had. I will be using them regularly now and recommending them to friends! Thank you!! read more

Cleaning was not very detailed or thorough. I would not hire again. Customer service higher up was excellent, however.

Had a great experience both times with cleaning. We needed the help at critical times and the relief of not having to deep clean was a blessing. Everyone was pleasant to interact with and our place looked great read more

Terrible communication and no accountability to show up when promised for a scheduled cleaning! My husband and I hired Elvis and his team to clean our apartment at 1pm this past Tuesday. Elvis was initially very responsive when we made our appointment, and even confirmed the 1pm arrival time with me less than 2 hours before via text. My husband and I of course both have jobs and are not just waiting around, but his team shows up an hour early. They do call several times, but I am in meetings as is my husband and we are not expecting them to arrive a whole hour earlier when they had just confirmed the time! They wait some time, but eventually leave. My husband arrives home around 12:45pm, and immediately calls Elvis but Elvis proceeds to insist it is OUR fault for not being there at a time we did not schedule. He says the team has already gone home, and there is no way to do the cleaning now. No apology, no offer of a time to reschedule. I am sure his team is very capable of doing a great cleaning. However, unless you have all day to wait around for them please go with a company you can trust to show up when they say they will! read more

Gross! They didn't properly clean, had to ask them to redo what they thought was a "good job" cleaning. Before they could even finish redoing the work my card was charged for an extra hour of work without my permission! Then the manager called and had the nerve to get aggressive with me and yell at me over the phone after completely ripping me off!!! They are unprofessional and scam artists!! read more

I used them last month to clean before guests came to town. These two girls were amazing. The place was clean and they were so hard working. The owner was very responsive. And want to reiterate again. They worked HARD and were so thorough. I will definitely use them again read more

I hired them to do a cleaning of a house we rented. They missed a couple of things on our list, and we found hair in the bathroom. Elvis and his team came to clean the apartment we moved into on Monday, that was not cleaned by the landlord. The place was a disgusting filthy mess with 6 years of grime buildup from the previous tenants who lived like slobs. I really needed somebody to come ASAP since we had no choice but to move in after driving across country with a truckload of our belongings. They were able to come on short notice and truly were a god send. The team were so kind and thoughtful, they were thorough and got the home to a livable condition (only because I asked them not to get it spotless as we will be leaving and I am paying for this service myself). They had on masks and took very careful precautions. The place looks a million times better and I am now feeling safe to be in the property temporarily. I will definitely call them again and highly recommend their services. read more

Elvis and his team are quality home cleaners! While we've only used them twice so far (our third appointment is tomorrow), I have been really happy with the outcome. We live in a small apartment right now, so while it isn't a huge pain to clean, just knowing that it's deep cleaned every 2 weeks is a huge weight off of my shoulders. Elvis is kind and easy to communicate with. He checks in on his employees and makes sure the client is happy with their cleaning before moving on.
