Danny and his team handled everything perfectly. The team was professional, efficient and very careful not to damage the house while moving the bulky items out. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price, especially considering the extra labor required for the large items, like the refrigerator. The service was excellent from start to finish. Booked ACM Movers for a local Chicago move on 9/19/2026, estimate 18843: hourly, one truck, four…read moremovers, full service. Written estimate $1,743. The crew that showed up was not briefed on the job. They did not know we had booked packing / full service. The lead mover asked if we were doing the packing. If your sales estimate includes packing, the Saturday crew should already know that. Sending a labor-only crew on a packing job wastes time and puts items at risk. They then added a $200 stair fee that was not on the signed estimate. Nobody quoted us a price for the stairs when we booked this move for a third-floor unit with no elevator. Their portal only says that more than 24 steps "will be extra charge." It does not say $200, $400 or $1000. Hourly pricing already charges for the extra minutes stairs take. A flat $200 after the truck arrives is a move-day surcharge, not an estimate. We also could not reach a dispatcher when it mattered. The lead mover said the truck might be too small and told us to call the office. On Saturday, customer support would only route us to claims, with a 1-7 business day response. We had a same-day landlord deadline. That is not support. After a full day we had to go back to the old apartment with our own cars and haul what they left so we would not be fined. If you inventory a 2-bedroom plus basement and garage, send a truck that can finish, or have a same-day backup. The issue was not that the movers refused to lift. The office sold full service, sent a crew that did not know that, under-sized the truck, added a fee that was not on the paperwork, and had nobody available on Saturday to fix it. Get packing, truck size, and any stair charge in writing before move day. Do not count on a dispatcher.

Harold returned and put the bags in the alley and then did a little more cleaning. Danny or Dan never called me again even after I called and texted him a few more times. He charged me $550 for the service and I tipped a extra $150. I knew better to give money before the service was complete but I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.
