Extremely disappointed with Ana's Maid Services. We requested a move out deep cleaning-- it was incomplete. I've spent at least three hours cleaning places not touched; to be clear, I'm not compulsive but I I expect the entire* property to be cleaned or follow-up communication if there is a reason that areas were not accessible. Dust and pet hair remain on windowsills, exercise equipment, and floors. It is very frustrating to hire a company to clean and then spend hours cleaning, esp during a move. *we had other contractors in the house before the move and some furniture was clustered in specific rooms. The company never told me that they decided not to touch these furniture or the areas. The company did not respond to my email about this situation. read more

I hate to have to write this, because the first few times we used Ana's Maid Services we LOVED them. Then... they seemed to have fallen off. We booked them a few months ago, and they were supposed to arrive at 8am on a Friday morning. No one showed up.. so I emailed them again. They apologized, said someone will be coming between 11-12pm. Again.. no one shows up. I email them a few times after, and receive no response. We ended up hiring someone else because this place was ignoring our emails for some reason, and the new group did a great job. A week ago I reach back out to Ana's Maid on Yelp Messenger, and they give me a quote, I say great, and they respond they are available to schedule. I send over availability and our address, and again hear nothing. I follow up... again there is total silence after multiple attempts. At this point I'm thinking they are maybe just avoiding us for some reason? We don't have a clue.. but this is a real bummer because we enjoyed their services. This cleaning service is part of my condo building's rewards program which means I have used them sporadically (mainly for winter cleanings when my place bears the ravages of the season & my hibernating ways). The booking process is straightforward, I have never had difficulties obtaining an appointment time, and the communication style seems punctual and responsive. I have not had any issues with anything being broken, etc. which is always good, nor did I find myself having to go back and re-clean as is sometimes the case. Although I have a small arsenal of cleaning supplies, Ana's brings their own cleaning supplies which also ups the convenience factor. In a couple of instances, items appear to have been perhaps dusted but not put back entirely where they belong. As an example, yesterday I found my coffee maker moved and a massage ball (get your mind out of the gutter, Yelpers) that had been randomly placed in my hamper but maybe that was on me, as it could have been mistaken for a laundry ball. These are minor nits to pick, considering that I was saved from tackling the overwhelm that accompanies a big cleaning project. read more

This was the first time that my husband and I decided to get our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo professionally cleaned since we had moved in around 2 years ago. A friend recommended Ana's service, and so we gave them a shot. I'm so glad we did! I communicated with Ana, or a rep from their service, via text, and was able to get a cleaning appointment the very next day. They scheduled me for noon, and the two ladies arrived about 15 minutes after. They got to work cleaning the kitchen and slowly moving their way throughout the condo, while my husband and I did our best to stay out of their way. They spent about 2.5 hours total, and did a great job deep cleaning everything, dusting our blinds, doing the dishes, and making our beds. We were so impressed with the outcome, and with the price. We will definitely be making this a more common practice!! I came back an hour later and the cleaning maid was gone, there was a little comet sprinkled in the sinks and NOTHING ELSE WAS DONE. I tried calling Ana's Maid Service and found out my phone number was blocked. This apartment was in very good condition and would have been an easy cleaning time for the Cleaning Service New Tenants were moving in the next day.....and I ended up cleaning the apartment myself. Ana's Maid Service never responded to my complaints. I have seen other bad reviews with complaints of no shows. The front desk man at my building knows a lot of apartment cleaners and recommended Ana's. I have used them three times now and each experience has been very good. The rugs on the floors were moved aside so the floors could be wet cleaned, items carefully moved so surfaces could be dusted, the stainless appliances left gleaming, and my 2 bathrooms thoroughly scrubbed. They bring their own equipment including vacuum. I find their website extremely easy to use, and they have always responded within an hour. I like that you can request even same day cleaning. Their pricing is very fair compared to what I paid in the past - $90 for 2 bed 2 full bath apartment. I'm using them again for a pre thanksgiving clean. read more

I wanted to LOVE them and we did love the service the first few times we used them! I had nothing but great things to say about them! However I used them to clean my place before I had company this past weekend. I don't keep a messy place, mostly the floors/bathrooms need to be cleaned and dusting because as we know high rises in Chicago can be quite dusty. My dishes are usually already in the dishwasher. This last time they came things were hap hazard put away, there were bits of trash on the floor that I assume fell out of the trash, the bedroom floor wasn't entirely cleaned. There was still dust on top of the TV, the coffee table was quickly wiped off but not cleaned. Biggest biggest issue was that the cats were locked out of their litter box closet in the bathroom! I always let the cleaning people know that we have two cats, even when I make the cleaning reservation I double check that they are aware and ok that we have cats. I happened to be in the lobby and noticed the one lady was often not cleaning and on her phone downstairs. I let Ana's know about the issues we had and they were quick to respond, which I appreciated because I didn't have time to sit down and write them until our company was gone. They offered to clean again today which I greatly appreciated. However yet again the cats were locked out of their litter closet. This time we weren't home ALL day, so the poor cats weren't able to use the litter box, well that means mess for us to clean up! What's the point of having cleaning done if I have to come home and clean an even bigger mess! There was still dust on top of the TV. Ana's always had a fixed rate of $75, then it got raised to $120, then they changed it to hourly rates. I asked for a "fixed quote" of $125 as I had in the past and the owner agreed that it could be done in an 1.5 hours with 2 ladys. These ladys were very slow in their job and the owner called me to tell me that the cost was now going up due to the condo being "dirty". I just remodeled my condo and everything is brand new marble, granite, and vinyl plank floors. This is obviously a bait and switch and I called the owner out on it as anyone can charge by the hour and tell their employees to go extra slow. I would not recommend Ana's and will not use them in the future. read more

Yes they may not be the most punctual but like most cleaning services, which typically involves the staff being dropped off - it's common issue that I've noticed no matter what company you use. They get stuff I didn't even know was dirty and this Last visit I had no clue I had a set of clean sheets out- came home to a fresh bed. Attention to detail is key. I just moved into an apartment three days ago and it was supposed to be thoroughly cleaned before, but it obviously wasn't. I was recommended this service and had them come out to clean my 3 bed/1 bath apartment and explained that I needed all the floors cleaned, the bathroom cleaned, the kitchen fully cleaned (inside cabinets and appliances), and explained that as I was in the process of moving I was okay with them cleaning around the boxes. Only two rooms were mopped (with a broom and rag), the kitchen floors and my kids rooms floors weren't touched at all, the cabinets were still sticky from the last tenants and whatever grease was there was just smeared around. The bathroom wasn't touched other than sweeping cat litter, tub and toilet wasn't cleaned. I told them to ignore my room as I was in it and could do a smaller area by myself but that means that they didn't touch any of the bedrooms at all, barely touched the bathroom other than sweeping and slightly wiping down the vanity, the kitchen is still sticky and floors are still filthy, and I'm furious. read more

I also walked around barefoot the next day and after an hour the bottom of my feet was black. I had used Ana's in the past but today they messed with my computer and it is still not working and I discovered they turned it off and did something else as I'm not getting any audio. I use my computer 24/7 so I'm losing business. They also left black dirt or something in one room that my landlord picked up. $120 for a move out clean of a studio apartment which was pretty middle of the road after being quoted by several other services. The thing I loved about Ana's though was the fact that I was able to book them extremely last minute. Two days before the end of the month and almost every place I called was unavailable. Three more "sorry we're fully commited"s away from a panic attack and I finally got a hold of a friendly voice that said "sure, we can do it." The ladies came in on time with cleaning supplies, Mexican pop music, and some severely broken English, but they did the job quick and up to my buildings standards so overall I'd definitely do Ana's again in the future. read more

I've used Ana's Maid Services three times for bi-weekly cleaning of a 1-bedroom apartment, and I've decided to stop using their service. The first visit, the house was sparkling clean but reeked of cleaning products for 3 days - I was worried about my pets. They also "forgot" to clean the entire shower/bath which is one of the biggest items in an apartment. The second visit, there was no chemical smell and the shower was clean-ish, though they didn't bother cleaning the tiles. There were food bits still stuck on the counter. Overall though, my apartment was clean. This third and final time, the house was clean and I had no complaints, until I noticed the microwave (see photo I've posted). They've used an abrasive sponge over the entire microwave face. I've been cleaning this microwave for 3 years and made sure it's shiny and fingerprint-free, and now it's permanently scratched and shine-less. I later discovered they scratched up our bathroom sink faucet, which is seemingly impossible with common sense. I'm sorry, but with the inconsistency of this service I don't think it's a good idea to continue. And I want my money back for the microwave damage. read more

I've been a Yelp user for years but I was compelled to write my first review here to warn other yelpers. I don't understand all the good reviews this business is getting (why I even picked them in the first place)?! If you value you your home and your appliances, beware!! We have used Ana's Maids for quite a long time after our old service decided to no longer serve our area. Frankly, we gave them one too many chances since their rate was reasonable and the cleaning was done well (for the most part). First couple of visits went great, our place was spotless and no complaints. One visit in April of 2012 - while we were home - cleaning went well, the crew got paid and left. My husband tries to open the microwave to warm up some soup and what a surprise, the handle comes right off in his hands! The crew made no mention of this break! The handle is plastic, attached to stainless steel so we couldn't figure how they even managed to break it off unless they were literally hanging from it like on a monkey bar. We contacted Ana's maids but didn't bother to press the issue as my husband managed to get the handle back on w/ good 'ole super glue. No idea what they did to break the handle b/c the glue has held the handle in place to this day. Nonetheless, probably an accident but disappointing they didn't inform us of the mishap before leaving. We gave Ana's Maids the benefit of the doubt and the next few services went fine, no bad surprises. Their December 2012 visit pushed us to our limits. Opened the dishwasher and noticed, how nice, they loaded it and ran it for us. Then I see my Calphalon pans had been washed in it as well - non-stick cookware is NOT dishwasher safe!! In the past the crew had always hand washed pots and pans and placed them on our drying rack so I didn't understand why this time they threw everything in the dishwasher - even our expensive Henckel knives! I didn't notice the major damage until the next morning, when I turned on the stove light to make breakfast. Only in the light I could see they had scratched the hell out of the stainless steel console (I've posted pictures). They must have used something abrasive, a big no no on stainless steel! Again, we contacted Ana's Maid and they told us they would talk to the crew to find out what happened. We told them they would have to pay for a replacement panel if we can't get the scratches out. After doing some research on what else, Google, we found a great YouTube video on how to repair surface scratches on stainless steel. Worked pretty well but now the finish has a different look from the rest of the stove. I guess we can live with it but not Ana's Maids or having to be resourceful to fix our damaged appliances after each visit. I don't know whether they're not training their ever changing crew properly but regardless their hands are never coming near our place again! read more

I'm now in the market for a new cleaning service and I tried Anas Maid Service based on the Yelp reviews. They were just okay. I used them just ones,but I'm moving on to the next. They do a decent job so I gave them 3 stars. They arrived about 30 minutes late, but they did call me before to let me know. The lady was friendly/nice and did a good job. My place was clean but not sparkling, just didn't smell clean... I wasnt all that satisifed with the cost vs service ratio... I'm still looking for better service, so I'll give someone else my business I think it is difficult to find a good house cleaning service. read more

We've used them for a year and at first they were terrific! We used them bi-weekly and they were always prompt and very thorough. In the middle of the summer we moved and suspended the service for a month. Move into the new place and start back up our bi-weekly services with a refrigerator cleaning as well every time they come. First few times was great but then I noticed they started skipping the fridge completely even though we were paying to have that done! I stay home with the kids so I would always have everyone in my bedroom to stay out of their way. You would think since they never had to clean my bedroom that they would pay extra attention to the others. Nope. The crews varied but I did noticed that we always received the best service when one of the older ladies were present. My husband finally got fed up when they did not show up and were constantly so late that I had to cancel. If you need a once in a while cleaning then they are fine. Purchased the Yelp Deal for Anas Maid Services and could not be happier with the decision! These women mean biznass when it comes to cleaning. A team of three came armed to clean the heck out of my one bedroom apartment, and boy was their mission accomplished. The inside of my microwave was spotless, the toaster oven was cleaned, the food that had been cooked onto the top of the stove several weeks prior was completely gone. Even the kitchen faucet was sparkling. They charge $60 for a one bedroom apartment and it was worth every penny. The whole cleaning took less than an hour and I'm seriously still amazed by how great my apartment looks. On their way out the door, they even vacuumed under the door mat in the hallway. I stayed at the apartment this time since it was the first time they came over. They were thorough, professional and even asked at the end if I wanted to look over the apartment and see if there were any places they missed. Over the past 2 years I've hired Ana's Maids to clean my apartment several times and I've hired them to clean my in-laws' home a few times. They have always done a great job so I was eager to hire them again for my in-laws' home as they recently moved out and the house needs a thorough cleaning. I called and spoke with a woman who was very nice and gave me all of the information until I told her the address at which point she got very rude and said they NEVER go that far west. The house is at Diversey and Pulaski... And they have cleaned it before! When I told her that they've come to that area multiples times before, she insisted that they don't do that. I am so disappointed. I didn't even bother to think about other maid services since I like Ana's so much. Now, it's back to the drawing board. So, I guess they only go as far west as Western. I am guilty of the fact that there are several things I do just not enjoy, and cleaning my bathroom and vacuuming my carpet definitely falls into that category. Fortunately I found Ana's maid service who for an extremely reasonable price takes care of all that and more. Before choosing Ana's I researched many of the other top rated cleaning services on yelp, and was quoted prices all the way up to 150 for my 750 square foot one bedroom apartment. That seemed outrageous to me as I know I did not have that many things, it was just a project I'd rather not undertake. Ana's quoted me a totally reasonable 65 dollars to get the job done, and when I came home from work that day my apartment SHINED. Everything about it was cleaned top to bottom as well as organized and straightened. I also had issues down the road of the doorman of my high rise misplacing my permission to access my unit form, and they worked with me to come back a few hours later that same day to make sure things were cleaned when I needed them. Not many businesses would go out of their way to accommodate a customer, but Ana's certainly will. Do not hesitate to get Ana's on the job, they will not only be priced much better but their service will exceed those quoting 150 plus for a few hours as well. read more

I had never hired a cleaning service prior to calling Ana's and was a bit anxious about the process-- how would I get them the keys? I wasn't entirely comfortable having strangers in my home and when searching for cleaners, I saw that some charged extra for households with pets. This all made me quite nervous. Ana's made everything seamless and had no qualms about my dog (or fees). I have never seen my apartment so clean! They truly went above and beyond. I don't know how they did it, but they did. Anas Maid Service responded quickly through email and were available to clean my condo the following Saturday morning. They arrived right on time, the price was reasonable ($75 - The prices was the same or better than other maid services I contacted.), and the cleaning only took an hour and a half. They are extremely thorough and even cleaned the inside of our toaster oven. They bring their own cleaning supplies and equipment, which is included in the cleaning rate. I've used Ana's for almost a year and I have been really pleased with them. I had a standing appointment for them to come every other Monday and it was always so wonderful to come home to a clean apartment. I have a two bedroom, two bath and my kitchen and bathrooms were always gleaming. I found their prices to be really reasonable. They even load and run the dishwasher or unload it and put stuff away if it's clean. I want to add an update to this because 5 years later I'm still using them. Don't hire this cleaning service. They are way overpriced and dishonest. They charged $210 to clean the oven! Unbelievable. They don't charge you based on the work actually performed, they charge you based on the work scheduled. This is my story. After we moved out from a studio because we placed it for rent we had it thoroughly cleaned. Unfortunately during a showing the realtor noticed that the oven had not been cleaned. Since we had moved to another town we asked the realtor to please call someone to clean it. The realtor called Ana's Maid Service and apparently scheduled the service as a "move out". So, after a month I got a bill for $210 for 3 people at $40/hr for 1 hr and 45 min each. Since the apartment had already been cleaned and in no way needed 4 1/2 hours of total labor from 3 people to clean the oven I called the company and asked for a discount. The owner didn't badge and I reluctantly footed the bill. Her reasoning was that it didn't matter the amount of work performed, what it mattered to her was only what was scheduled. And, by the way, we are talking about a small 600 sq ft studio. Other local companies I used in the past charged me less for a two bedroom apartment, not for a studio, and that was a real "move out" clean, not just an oven... I feel cheated and, even if as a business owner myself I can understand the reasoning, I cannot in conscience justify charging somebody $210 to just clean an oven. If this was an honest business at least I should have been offered a discount. In no way I want to have anything to do with this company in the future and i urge others to keep away from it. read more

Overall, a good experience. They were very prompt in responding to my email query for services, and scheduled a 2-bedroom cleaning within a few days. On the day of, however, there was a lot of confusion about which unit I was in, and since I guess they hadn't brought my phone number or the email with them, it led to a 2 hour delay on the agreed-upon time. Good thing I am a student spending my day at home studying, or else it would have been a bigger problem! But no big deal, they got here eventually and finished the job in just under 2 hours. Everything looks great! The dust that seems to gather everywhere (which was my main reason for wanting a spring clean) is gone, the bathrooms are shining, and the floors finally don't look like we've spilled countless dinners and drinks on them! Only other slight complaints (besides the time mix up) are 1) that their supplies left behind an odd chemically smell (combined with maybe the use of moldy rags, which smell odd)- nothing some open windows can't fix and 2) that the price for a 2-bed/2-bath was actually $80, not $75 as I originally thought. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this company. They were able to accommodate a last minute request for a regular cleaning so I was very grateful they could fit me in so quickly. I have a 1 bedroom condo, its always kept very tidy and clean, however I had guests coming in town staying with us and I did not have time to do a full cleaning (bathroom, dust, wash floors, vacuum). The two women arrived early, they were very pleasant. However the quality of work was not good. After they finished, I checked the bathroom and noticed they had not touched the shower. I asked them to clean it before they left while I took a work call, and after they left, I checked it again and noticed that they did not clean the shower basket and the cap to the sliding glass door was missing. The cap is on the handle on the sliding glass door, it is loose and falls off occasionally when I clean the doors so I assumed it fell off and they placed it somewhere but it was no where to be found. So now I have a missing cap on my shower door. Also, there was black hair all over my floors, stuck in piles. I had to re-wash all the floors myself. I have a bar cart in the dining room area, looks like they just cleaned around it, and didnt bother to clean underneath - its on wheels so it does not need to be moved at all. Same with my credenza which is on legs - nothing was cleaned underneath. Its like they just did a surface clean which wasnt what I needed since I keep my place pretty clean anyway. My rug (1 of only 3 small area rugs in the whole place) was also not vacuumed - I ended up using their vacuum myself before they left to do a better job. I spent about an hour and half after they left cleaning up black hair and redoing all the floors, and cleaning the shower again. SO disappointing, I was trying to save time and ended up doing it myself anyway. When I called to say I was missing the cap, they said there was nothing they could do. I use this service as often as I can. It's not a matter of expense--they're cheap!--but it's hard to fit them in my schedule. Still, I can get a team at the last- minute and I'm grateful for it. Overall, they are pretty good. Usually, one of the pair speaks passable English. I can't speak any Spanish. Once I was stuck with two Spanish speakers and "no espanol." Yikes! The cleaning is generally good although once I had to make a maid re-do the tub. They also like to move things so I can't find them later. Also they always want to throw the recycling in the trash. I like them because they are reliable and get the job done. We live in a rehabber's nightmare and they always make it look fresh. read more
