We met family members who live in the area for dinner on Wednesday night. Service was outstanding, as well as the barbecue options. Nice, quirky but not overdone decorations. Cute cow and pig strand lights around the bar. Okay, the food: Delicious! My husband had the meatloaf, potato cake and rice and beans. He says, "Excellent"! I had the two dark chicken leg and thighs (2) with coleslaw and a potato cake-recommended by JUSTIN. With a side salad. Everything was perfect, cooked perfectly, BBQ sauce especially tasty. Service by JUSTIN-excellent! I brought home one leg and thigh to enjoy again later. Didn't have room for dessert. Price very reasonable with a discount for seniors. We were traveling the interstate and usually stay in the same hotel off the highway. After shopping at the outlets we decided to get away from the chain restaurants. We saw a sign that said downtown so we checked it out. My wife search for restaurants in the area and this one popped up. We were totally thrilled with it. Staff is friendly and food is great. Wow! I went here today for a sandwich and everything absolutely exceeded my expectations. Great service and outstanding food. On the waiter's recommendation I tried the potato cake as a side- so glad I did- it is lightly fried and made of potato salad. So unusual and so yummy! I'll be back! read more

My husband and I had been wanting to check this place out and we were not disappointed. We sat at the bar and the service was great. There seems to be a pretty good regular crowd that goes up there. I had the salmon bisque, which was great - huge chunks of salmon. I probably could have just eaten that. I had a Caesar salad as well, also good. My only complaint was that the salad was served on an appetizer size plate, and it was so small (the plate, not the salad) that food kept falling off the plate each time I would try to get a bite. The salad was great and a good portion size, but it just needs to be served on a bigger plate. Easy problem to solve. My husband had the Reuben and said it was really good. read more

I came here with a group of 6 for a Birthday dinner. The Service was great and our meals were very good. I must say the Cole Slaw was too thick cut and chunky for my taste. The Smoked Salmon Dip was amazing! Everyone loved their Steaks. The Brisket was good. My Fried Chicken Breast was very good but could have used more gravy on top. Visiting Smithfield and the Yelp reviews led us here for dinner! The Hog Cakes were exceptional (and you can order just one, if you like!). Shrimp and grits also very good. Jasmine was such an attentive server and accommodated special requests for my little one! Definitely plan a visit - just a few minutes from the hotels near the outlets and WAY better than the chain restaurants that litter the side of 95. Next time, I'll get the full Hog Cakes appetizer and a salad - still thinking about them! read more

Had the ribs and "smoked brisket". Brisket tasted like boiled pot roast with zero seasonings and very tough. Ribs were the same story. Barbecue sauce that came on the side was gross too. Fries were good and ice water was on point. Whoever runs that kitchen, wake up and fix yourself or give up. It sucks to suck but paying 20 dollars for inedible garbage is worse. read more

The Hog Cakes are excellent (and an apparently award winning) combination of grits, pork, and vinegar. The fried pickles are slices of heaven. The shrimp and grits are the right combination of creamy with a bit of a kick. And last but not least, Judy is the server you've been waiting your whole life to meet. Outstanding! read more

Cute place with good service, our meal was good. The fried chicken and porterhouse pork chop were really good! The sides held the meal back: the potato cake was served cold/barely warm on the outside, the mac & cheese was bland-salt?, the broccoli was plain steamed no herbs or seasoning and the pita was just wedges from a package.
