Slim chicken, not a bad experience for quick service chicken. My wife and I shared the slim chicken meal 3 tenders and fries, we also ordered the fried mushrooms and okra. Differently try those two sides. The only disappointment were the French fries, cold and rubbery. But, we were not interested in the French fries, that is why we ordered the okra and mushrooms. My grandson said his fries were warm and tasty, so I think ours were a one off event. When in Smithfield for another event will eat at slim chicken again. I visited Slim Chickens on Monday, October 20th. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and they were fine overall. The chicken was decent and not over-seasoned, and the waffles were actually really good. I also tried the bone-in traditional wings with fries and a drink, which were okay but nothing special. My husband had a chicken sandwich, and he said it was pretty good. For dessert, I ordered the cherry cheesecake jar. I had about two bites. The cherries had an awful taste and an even worse aftertaste, but the cheesecake itself was fine when I took another bite. There was also way too much whipped cream in the jar -- I wonder if that could be optional, but at this point, it's neither here nor there. I ended up taking some Pepto just to be safe because the cherries really didn't taste right. Side note, I still have the cherry cheesecake in my refrigerator. I could easily send a photo if needed, or if anyone wanted to test it, but honestly, it's awful. My husband had the banana pudding jar, and he said it was okay. I tried to fill out the survey afterward because I wanted to let Slim Chickens know about the cheesecake, but my receipt didn't have a store number on it. It looked like it had gotten wet or smudged since it was stuck to the bag. Overall, the food was okay, but not something I'd go out of my way for. I'd probably go to Zaxby's next time. read more

Love this place! Located between Take 5 oil change and Paws n Claws pet grooming. You can download the app and order ahead, collect rewards, they have a drive thru as well. It is a little upper scale than a typical fast food place. Obviously they specialize in chicken and the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich is amazing! So crunchy and crispy. You can get the chicken tossed in a sauce as well. The employees were all fantastic and the atmosphere is relaxed. We've been twice as a family and really enjoy the chicken. The kids devour the kids tender meal and not to mention they have a whole bunch of sauces to try!! The food tasted mediocre, and did not have any exciting flavors. There were no special featured menu items to entice a return visit. The drive thru lines were long. The food was not hot, and the fries were too salty. I did not enjoy the club chicken sandwich meal. I've eaten at this location twice per convenience and limited food options in the area. I may not return again. I am unable to rate the ambience because I did not dine in. However, the service was not stellar. It was impersonal and "business as usual". Really good! It's fairly new as of this date. It was clean, and the staff were very friendly and maintaining the cleanliness of the eat in area. They were also very busy at the drive thru and inside. We went to Slim's while visiting family in Selma. The service was great. They were a bit busy since it was Saturday, but the line moved fast and cashier was friendly. The folks delivering the food were also super nice. It was fairly clean inside considering how busy it was. Now for the food itself. I ordered the meal that had 3 tenders and came with fries and Texas toast. My other half had fried mushrooms and fried okra. Also added a side of ranch and honey mustard. The Texas toast was delicious. The mushrooms were also delicious. My other half liked the okra. I don't like okra in general so I can't justify my review. The chicken tasted slimy. If you've ever had chicken from Shane's Rib House, it tastes spot on to that in my opinion. I just didn't like the texture of the chicken. The fries were bland, but dipped in the ranch they were tasty. The honey mustard wasn't great. Will I go back? Probably not, it wasn't my favorite. It was the texture for me.
