The only thing they don't have on the buffet is beef brisket, which is what we love, but all the food that we got the shredded pork, ribs, barbecue chicken, vegetables, bread...everything was really good. It's an odd place to have a barbecue restaurant, but it was definitely enjoyable. The service was excellent and they were very good about keeping the place clean. Being able to watch the airplanes land and takeoff was just an extra bonus.

But it was worth those few extra minutes for front row seats of the action on the tarmac below. We arrived during their lunchtime buffet hours, although you can also order from their regular menu. I'm not usually a buffet person, but since I wanted to try a little bit of everything it was definitely the way to go. For $18 I got some ribs, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken. Not to mention, a side of their delish cornbread, and a scoop of two of my Southern faves: mac & cheese and collard greens. Sadly, I was too full of the deliciousness to make a second trip, but if I had it would have been for a heaping pile of mashed potatoes and a generous scoop of their homemade peach cobbler. If you like airplanes and BBQ, add this to your list for your next visit to the area. They also have a full bar, though on this hot day we were happy with bottomless refills of their refreshing sweet tea.

Fried chicken, meatloaf, yams, mashed potatoes, southern veg, salad, pies.... all really spot on. The biscuits are light as a feather. Even the bbq was tasty for restaurant fare. Look out for the fatback, it is addictive. The buttermilk pie was new to me and really delish. This place is not just "good for road food." It is delish. Thank you, local yelpers!

Food: The variety was very slim, the serving dishes were all pretty picked over - and not being readily filled - when we got there so we had to start out with the left overs and make our way back over to the buffet again later to check if they'd filled the serving dishes. I didn't think anything I had (flounder, chicken, potatoes, vegetables, pie) was particularly good. I put all that in small scoops each on my plate because somehow I just knew. I thought I'd find something I'd really enjoy but no way, didn't happen. (The place was busy though so I'll give them that. I just wouldn't go back, but I am traveling through so I wouldn't have much of an opportunity to do so more than once a year really). 'Ambiance' .. none. Very wide open and very much like a church rec-room basement with tables and booths. Nothing special or enticing. Big containers of water and drinks on every table. Looked cluttered but that's not important. Table: sticky. Floor: sticky Service: Everyone we had contact with was pleasant. Price was $30+ for two.

One of my sons has been affected the same way, we didn't eat the same thing. Server prioritized others ahead of us (waited about 10 mins to be asked for a drink order, meanwhile filling a drink order for 4 cops who came in 10 minutes after us). Prices looked great, portion size was large but the food itself was a big meh. I asked if they could cook their burgers to temp, got a resounding Yes they can....I asked for a medium burger and it came out well done. I was asked by two people how it was, which I answered "It was ok" - nobody wanted more details. IMHO they have an established base they cater hardest too and they don't extend that service to new customers. Makes the old timers feel great however we'll never be regulars. We won't be back. I get supporting those who support you, but that's hardly a long term sustainable model. Hope you're ready for when those folks dwindle off. They'll be lost in new customers acquisition and won't understand it. Enjoy it while you can. Atmosphere was great. Very disappointed it didn't meet expectations.

The service was extremely good, great timing. The steaks were perfect. The sides were perfect. The dining room area is ok, just has the ambiance of a cafeteria. The fact I haven't been here before now blows my mind!…read more We stopped in around 630 on Wednesday and I will say, the place looked closed but don't let that deter you. We walked up and were immediately greeted and seated. I ordered an apple pie cocktail (this is a must order) to start and they brought a basket of rolls. The rolls were so soft and fluffy! I know people talk about roadhouse rolls but these are definitely right up there with them! And they came with this cinnamon butter that was incredible. I may have eaten the other half of my boyfriends roll. He ordered a steak topped with Asiago and mushrooms while I ordered the new Orleans salmon. The steak was so incredibly tender. It basically melted in your mouth. My only slight disappointment was the alfredo sauce for the salmon was broken and a little lumpy. The flavor was on point but I would have preferred a non-broken alfredo sauce. This is now one of my favorite steakhouses and I'll definitely be returning in the future!
