Oh my goodness, Ashley's!!! What a gem. We popped in on a Saturday and were back Monday because everything that came out of the kitchen was so good and looked so delectable!! We are already game planning out next meal here. Such a solid and sweet diner, with amazing staff- Shout out to Haley! So far we have had the pork tenderloin breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, brown gravy on a homemade biscuit-pork so tender, gravy delicious and light biscuit, Philly cheesesteak omelette with crispy home fries- to die for, Meatlof special with mashed potatoes- so tender and flavorful and the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings- perfect size and onion rings are great. Haley was even kind enough to let us try the Chicken - yet another great comfort meal. And hush puppies- best I've had. Ashley's is our new spot. Highly HIGHLY recommend. read more

This place is amazing. They have friendly people. Their food is to die for you've got to try the chicken salad.

Very nice place. I like their food. They have a small menu so everything they do is basically made for that day. This also means there might be a day you stop in that they don't have your favorite thing on the menu, which is kind of a bummer. But they have great sweet tea also and very nice people. read more

The food was good, will not return though. I'm not that guy who complains about service, but when I am ignored as if invisible and the tables on both sides of me get served before me, yeah, I'm not coming back. The waitress literally served one table, walked past my booth and went to the next table. Couldn't get a drink refill, couldn't get a waitress to return to my table. I was traveling on business and stopped by a local family restaurant in Goldsboro, North Carolina recently called Ashley's Diner, the food was amazing and the service was so great. The time I had to wait for my food was also good and well worth the wait for a real home cooked meal. Their food is truly Southern cooking, reminded me of Mama's and both of my Grandmother's cooking. The food was fresh and very delicious including their deserts. The owner Miss Ashley and her staff were all friendly and made me feel like I was spending time with family. The entire place was also very clean and the price for the meal was very reasonable with good portions of food. I will be eating at Ashley's Diner again and recommending that my family and friends and business associates do the same. read more

Food is good, however, the owner Ashley, seems to ignore certain customers. I went in with my husband who does visit the restaurant often and when she saw him she came back with a big to go cup of tea (and he did not ask for the to go cup). She never once acknowledged that I was sitting directly across from him in the booth and never spoke or asked if I would like one either. She needs to learn some respect for ALL her customers not just the regular ones or just the men. read more

Not impressed. I never went to the last location and they moved to this new spot mid-December 2017. There are currently no signs outside for the diner. The old Scott's Barbeque signage is still up. Wait staff were slow today and we didn't love anything we ordered. Biscuits tasted old and were soggy. I guess that's what happens when you come at 10 am and they opened at 6 am. Apparently today was busier than usual and being in a new location probably doesn't help. If I had a quarter for every time the waitress said "we've been really busy today" then I would have eaten for free. Overall, very disappointed. We don't plan to return. Perhaps they will work the kinks out soon and they will have better service in the future. read more

Reasonably priced menu items. Good food, good service. Hot coffee. Ordered eggs, bacon, toast, hashbrowns and hash. All was good. Waitress was very polite and checked on us often. My wife ordered 2 pancakes, they are huge and we took one home with some bacon. Bacon and pancakes were above average. We will definitely go back again soon. Nice place for breakfast. read more

The best home cooking in Goldsboro. The daily specials are awesome. Best to go early (11-11:30) to beat the crowd for lunch.

Have been several times. Prices decent but service poor. Every time I've been they brought out my husbands food a good 10 minutes before mine. No hard orders just one pancake and sausage. Also last time our waitress never came back after taking order. Someone else brought out the food. I had to literally flag her down to get a refill on the coffee. Have only tried their breakfast.
