Suzanne & I came for dinner as our hotel is, literally, a stone's throw away. We've been to Panera's for decades, in multiple states. This particular location, managed by Michelle Nunsteel, was the most enjoyable Panera's we've ever been to! The staff were incredibly fun, polite, efficient, and just a delight to converse with. THIS Panera is a must. I've eaten at both Fuquay Varina and Holly Springs and was thoroughly disappointed on multiple occasions. It doesn't matter which Panera Bread we go to, the orders include almost the same thing every time. A strawberry smoothie. My youngest loves the strawberry smoothie from Panera Bread. I really like using the kiosks inside for when I order because it remembers my favorites list. Every Panera looks similar, not a ton of frills. The drink stations are nice because you can refill your drink before leaving. The open kitchen is nice because you can talk to a person in the event you have a question or issue. My food might not always be the best, but as long as the Strawberry Smoothie continues to be made the exact same way at every location, I will continue to give 5 stars because you made my kids day. read more

In a time when customer service seems to fall by the wayside, Panera is stepping up their game! We stopped at this location for a to-go order while traveling. The gentleman at the register was super attentive, asking about allergens and paying attention to details that most employees would overlook. All the employees seemed as though they actually enjoyed their job. The order was processed quickly, and we were out the door! Insane. Brought my team here to eat and we need to be on one bill/receipt per college rules which had never been an issue until trying to eat here. We were told they could only do 5 orders at a time so they ended up turning down 16 orders. I usually go to this location a lot during the week on the way home from the gym and use Rapid Pickup. They have never had my order wrong however when I go to pick it up they never have it either on the shelf where I can tell it's ready for pick up or at the edge of the counter waiting for pick up with my name on it. It is super annoying to have to ask where my food it at EVERY time after the pick up time. I have had once a pick up where it was on the shelf and no name on it at all! I have also had to go in a time or two for them leaving a bakery item out of my bag. The only reason it gets three stars is because on my last visit when they ran out of my regular soup they gave me extra of another for the trouble. read more

Me, my fiancé, and best friend came in for dinner one evening and the quality of my avocado was very disappointing. I love panera! But this location was very sad. My avocado felt like it was frozen and was just slapped on my sandwich. Not even cut. Accuracy does NOT matter at this Panera - We frequently order delivery from this store, located at 1716 E Market St, Smithfield, NC. We also are frequently shorted items from our orders. Sometimes little things like a fruit cup, salad dressing, or bread. Often, it is someone's meal who is left out. Today, our delivery arrived in a sealed bag. It was missing my sandwich. I called Panera and spoke with Reba, who informed me that they would not delivery me the sandwich that we had paid for. Panera deliveries are not handled by a third-party and Panera has no control over when or how deliveries are made. I don't believe the driver took the sandwich - the Panera seal was still on the bag. It is another case of lack of quality and management at this location. The receipt attached to the bag listed each item we ordered correctly and there was a green check mark by the "Pick 2" that included the missing sandwich. The "Order Checked By ___" was left blank and the line below it that reads "Accuracy Matters" clearly is a not true. We were so fed-up with this locations delivery practices at one point, that we complained to corporate and did not order, delivery or otherwise, for a very long time. Absolute wonderful service, very friendly staff and Amazing food. We placed our order on the pads for self serves and when getting ready to pay our order disappeared. The associate came right over and helped. She reentered the orders. Then we had two gift cards, when we went to pay, there was another issue. I work in the Outlets and I was so excited to find out Panera was coming, and I was so excited for delivery. Well, my first two delivery orders were wrong, okay it's a new place, I get it. My third order was wrong. While I understand that this is a new place, it is corporate, so it's not entirely new. One last order- my boss went to pick it up after I ordered it, it wasn't ready. After being ignored by the staff she finally got their attention to ask what was going on. They got the order ready and she came back. Part of what I paid for wasn't there. We called the store, and they didn't answer. So, we called until we did. The manager was very nonchalant, and said we could come pick it. Well, I work in a busy store and can't just up and leave. I contacted corporate on August 8th for a refund for what I never received, I still haven't gotten my money and I was very unimpressed with how much they didn't seem to care.
