Bacon Avocado Melt on Black Pepper Focaccia bread.
    Megan D.

Bacon Avo Melt On Black Pepper Focaccia bread. The absolute FRESHEST sandwich I've ever eaten at any Panera! My husband had the Chicken Bacon Rancher Sandwich and he said his sandwich was AMAZING! THIS Panera is a must. I've eaten at both Fuquay Varina and Holly Springs and was thoroughly disappointed on multiple occasions. We were hesitant to give this one a shot but it was convenient and we wanted minimally processed food. When you spend $13-$17 on a sandwich you expect visible and tastable quality. Very glad we decided to stop.

This was in my wife and I'd breakfast sandwiches. Nearly broke my tooth, looks like mouse poop but it's as hard as a rock.

So glad Panera as arrived in our area. Eat-In food and service were typical of most Panera Bread restaurants.

The walls are decorated in sports memorabilia and September 11th tributes. When you walk in, you will see the Statue of Liberty. I tried to sit in the Mets section, but that was taken as it is a busy place, so I sat near the Yankees. I was ok with the photo of Don Mattingly and don't hate the Yankees, I just love the Mets. I made sure to spend some time in that section before leaving, seeing the 1986 tributes to Mike Piazza, Jose Reyes, and David Wright. It is just fun to be surrounded by the memorabilia. The sandwiches also follow in the New York theme. I ordered the Mr. Met, it had ham, turkey, and roast beef with lettuce, provolone, and tomatoes. I've had it before, so I knew it was good and ordered the full size rather than a half. I enjoyed every bite of it. The service was friendly, and they have daily specials with a different sub featured each day. The food was prepared fresh and fast. If you are looking for a high-quality sub, this is the place to order from.

I told her I love meat of all kinds. She recommended and I thoroughly enjoyed The Dark Knight. It was loaded with meat and it was so big the gentleman who created it saw the "I'm so full" look on my face and offered to wrap the other half, which he did so carefully and tightly to hold it together. I took some great photos of their amazing deli. I recommend if you are in Smithfield, you must experience Gotham's Deli.

The roasted brussels sprouts would make a believer out of anyone who claims they do not like brussels sprouts. Bits of ham in a balsamic reduction. Easy to follow directions for reheating. Ordered enough for two. It was perfect.

Some of them smell like cigarette butts or take smoke breaks on the clock so its unapealing to guests to see . If you have a cake you're wanting to have served after the initial couples cutting, be prepared for it to be crumbled and unappealing to the eye. If you dont mind how the cake looks at that point in time then That's a plus (hey some people dont at this point of the night)? Mashed potatoes are usually good. Meat...specifically chicken...any chicken, is usually dry and rubbery. BBQ is good but can be really greasy. Crabcakes are more breaded and do not taste like real crabcakes...think dry or cardboard hush puppy in the form of a flattened tater tots (no offense to tater tots). Coffee service never works out correctly. Seasonal toast is usually interesting and Might be one of the best options on the menu. Caprese skewers dont come with basil, it's a half a cherry tomato and a small mozz ball. During a tasting that happened people where people were supposed to taste different items on a menu some things went haywire and some guests didn't even get to taste all of the items they were supposed to. It was pretty disappointing for those who paid a lot of money to go to this tasting and really didn't get to taste what they were promised.

The reviews had me questioning it but then I read the complaints and gave it a try. Glad I did. The cooking style of the seafood is not my style so that was not an option but the Asian items on the menu caught my eye. The Captial is located in a strip mall and plenty of parking is available if you drive. Once entering the decor is very neat and interesting. Sort of beach cross with modern cross with Asian influences. Interesting. I eat at the bar so I don't tie up a table s they were busy. Good flow and the bar was wide open. I had the black garlic what ever. This was my second try of this style. The host was very informative and gave very sound advice on the menu. The item was delicious. Very filling and one's unable to eat it all. I also had a delicious Old Fashion to go with it. Maybe not a common pairing but delicious nonetheless. Definitely another place to add to rotation when I am in town.
