I just LOOVE visiting NC these days. It seems like I just can't get enough good food and awesome customer service. Our server was very friendly, fast and attentive, her name is Brittney and the next time I go back there I am asking for her personally. Now...I am still a little scared of eating inside so myself and 6 other family members has the pleasure of eating outside all by ourselves. The weather was good, and when a few drops of rain fell, we lifted the umbrellas and kept it moving. It didn't stop our seafood party. We got to meet the owner who was very friendly and funny. Ehh! To be fair we were a party of 20 probably! We had 10 kids with us! We ordered mostly baskets from here and they were not good at all! The kids Mac n cheese was disgusting. It seemed as if it was prepackaged and they just heated it up and brought it out to us. The flounder and catfish was over cooked and all you could taste was the oil. The HUSHPuPPIES! Great service and the food was awesome! I don't eat fried food. Bad recon here look to be from the fried foods. We had steamed and it was close to perfection. Messy but taste amazing, and before you order ask the price. I saw one person complaining about cost and I asked and was told the price. The menu says to ask? Food was nicely seasoned and you decide your seasoning and you are going to get messy. Beer, crab, crawfish, mussels and shrimp were all terrific! DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE! I decided to try this place while in the area running errands. The actual price is much higher than the online price but they don't tell you that when you make the order. When I got the price of the food, I thought my son might've ordered (something extra to be added to the plate. WRONG! I immediately went back in and asked for a refund. Nadine (manager) wouldn't accept the untouched food back said they don't do refunds once the food has been cooked. She also acknowledged knowing that the online price has been wrong for YEARS!sats! The low country boil wasn't hot or edible. I received a call from the owner, Rock/Rob (919) 414-4426, who also acknowledged knowing about the inaccurate pricing online. He was very unprofessional and condescending when speaking with me about my concerns. He would not provide me with the number for the corporate office and said they would be changing their name in the next few months. He then offered to refund me the money if I found a place with better pricing. I responded by telling him the Crab Seafood House in Clayton had lower pricing, larger quantities of food, and better customer service. He then began to repeat "it's your life" and say that he could not lose money by refunding the inedible, overly/inaccurately priced food. Well, Losing customers means losing money. 2 of us went for dinner this evening. Walked in the door at 6. It wasn't crowded, but there were several tables with diners. Noticed right off that there was 1 woman who was waiting all the tables, fixing drinks at the bar, ringing people up, running food and answering the phone. She apparently had absolutely no help. Found out at nearly 7 that a) she was new and b) she had been due off at 4...and was still there with no help. Where's the manager? Where's the other wait staff? Who exactly is running the place? We ordered a shrimp scampi dinner, a seafood supreme (shrimp, fish and oyster) dinner and some bread with crab spinach dip for an appetizer... The seafood supreme arrived first with the appetizer.... I had the choice of either flounder or catfish and ordered the catfish. The shrimp were very good. The catfish for certain was not catfish. It has a very distinct flavor. I was served the flounder. I didn't complain, due to the waitress providing excellent service already and her lack of help. But she did check later and the cook insisted it was catfish. As I said (and anyone that has had catfish will know what I am talking about)...it was the color and flavor of flounder. I also ordered regular french fries and was given sweet potato fries. The spinach and crab dip with bread.......where to start... For the price, we expected at least warmed up bread of some sort. I mean many restaurants give you that for free as a starter. This was slices of room temperature (and it was obviously a piece of pita bread cut in walk straight out of a package). The spinach and crab dip obviously had real crab in it.....and I am not sure if it was on the verge of not being any good any longer or what, but it had a very, VERY strong fishy taste to it. It was to such a point, that each of us had 1 bite, tried to wash the taste out of our mouths and said no more. The shrimp scampi showed up on it's own 15 minutes after the other food and wasn't hot. It had a large portion, for sure enough for 1 and it tasted really good. Only complaint is that the tails were still on the shrimp.....in shrimp scampi. So the other person I was dining with had to dig through the noodles, dig out the shrimp covered in sauce and pull off the tails..... So I had the choice of eating in front of the person I came with, or waiting for this dish to arrive with mine being cold. After I had finished the seafood supreme, the waitress brought the man at the next table his seafood supreme. He ordered sweet potato fries...and got regular. So he got mine, I got his. The cook quite obviously was cooking 1 menu item at a time, instead of preparing a table at a time. Not sure if he or she simply can't multi task, but that's not the way to operate a restaurant. The waitress worked her butt off doing far to many things. She was excellent. The rest? What a mess. $64 for 2 people to eat, we got a horrible appetizer, luke warm scampi with the tails still on (I mean how lazy must a cook be for that to happen??) and the wrong meal. I don't expect this much mess from a McDonald's kitchen. Disappointed is an understatement. My advice? To possible customers, be prepared for good service from the wait staff and horrid work from the kitchen staff. To the restaurant? Hire a cook that knows how to do their jobs. My god. read more

We called in advance to order and had no problems, were told our waiting time was estimated to be around 20-30mins. Once we got there we saw right away the inconsideration for social distancing as well as mask covering. Cashier had nose out of their mask (seriously what is the point in wearing it?) and servers had no masks on at ALL. The place was PACKED and a live-band was setting up in the corner. Actually, the band member kid's (7-8 yr old) were carrying their equipment. You'd think no one in there knew about COViD. Ended up waiting a hour and a half OVER the 20-30 minute threshold we were told it would be ready. Another couple there who had called were also expressing their impatience and frustration. I understand business is tight and the kitchen can get backed up, and even up to this point I was willing to turn a reluctant blind eye until ... We overheard an employee ask their co-worker, "What should we put in the box? We are out of crawfish." Co-worker replies with, "Oh if it's grubhub it doesn't matter, just throw in extra scallops." The CHEF came out asking the same employee, "Do I need to go and let them know we are out?" Employee responds, "No it's ok." If they had been talking about my order I would have been PISSED! You should call or do whatever you've got to do to let the customer know so they can replace it for something else. The attitude of everyone there was clearly not their best. This could because of stress, and understandably so if they are operating in such a non-monitored covid hotspot. Too small for big crowds and a live band is stupid for a place that size. Hope they tighten up their restrictions, but will never recommend this to anyone else. Go literally ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

It's definitely a NO for me. As for someone who lived in Louisiana for years, it is disrespectful to call this anything similar to New Orleans or Louisiana style cuisine. I ordered the crawfish and shrimp boil and it came out swimming in water. It was supposed to be seasoned with Medium, Big Bang flavor and it was absolutely seasonLESS. The doors were locked and phones were cut off and lady inside ignored my efforts to get her attention (which I don't blame her if they're closed). We were excited to see this new restaurant come in to the area. our first attempt to eat there they turned us away because they had kitchen issues and the store was closed on that particular day we went for lunch. We finally made it last night and it has a nice interior, beachy feel, TVs, some with sports, some with country music playing. Nadine our server was very pleasant and friendly. The food was just so so, not much seasoning and the portions were little small for the money. if you're looking for fried fish you can still visit the local places and get better product for the money. We were disappointed they didn't have very many broiled or sauteed dishes with fresh fish. Side options included slaw, fries, red potatoes. We had the Cajun fries, but they were barely seasoned. We just didn't get a sense with all the breading that the fish was actually 'fresh'. Will opt for the offerings at the beach next time. We ordered the beignets, they were about an inch and a half squares dusted with powder sugar. Some were good, others were a little chewy. Overall it was a nice sweet ending for the meal but again it just felt like it needed a little something, a drizzle of honey, a drizzle of dark chocolate. I've had the beignets in New Orleans, at Cafe du Monde, these were really subpar. They offer a full bar, beer on tap, Coke products, iced tea. The other items, crab legs and such seems a little pricey for what we were looking for that evening. Not even sure I'd make a trip back for those. Parking is tough because it's in a strip mall, that's already tight, near the cinema. just didn't see anything or experienced anything that would make us want to go back. I have gone to this place many times and never was disappointed. However, today with my girls after bragging about it, I was extremely disappointed. They used to give you some pork skins before your food is brought out, but, today we were told they are $3.50 for the small container. I ordered the seafood Supreme w/ two sides. Corn and side salad- to my disbelief there was an upcharge for "premium" sides, i.e. hushpuppies, salad or sweet potato fries. Why isn't that something the waitress wouldn't tell us? A seafood restaurant charging for hushpuppies, its a normal part of the dinner. I won't be going there anytime soon. Very disappointed- the portions are the same- prices are ridiculous! They do not go by franchise prices. Something that was $20 on the site was $35 when i checked out. The server was nice. I went in to pick up order & while i waited I realized how dirty the place was. Old cups & Miscellaneous things were all over. The sanitation rating was only 90 and when i seen the cook through the door preparing the food without gloves and wiping sweat from his head with the back of his hand. I asked for a refund instead of the food, and the owner told me that it was expensive paying for seafood and theres nothing he could do about the cleanliness. Will never go back. read more

Went for late lunch with my dad and son. We were craving our favorite food, oysters. We went to live crawfish & seafood (since last time we went it was great service and great oysters)!! We ordered a dozen of the Rockefeller oysters. 1st it didn't have any spinach 2nd the server brought out no sauce no butter no garlic no hot sauce 3rd the bacon was disgusting and hard! We let the server know how we felt about the food and she suggested we talk to the owner since he was in today! The owner came over and was extremely rude and arrogant! Second time I have been to this restaurant. Visiting from California and decided to take my Father there for his birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted and we got a table. I ordered a sweet tea and our server brought it promptly. As I drank my sweet tea through a straw something hard went in my mouth through the straw. I pulled it out and it was a piece of someone's pinky nail. It was a cream color. Our server came over and I showed her the nail. I looked at her hand and she had the same color nail polish. She apologized and told me it was her nail. She explained it fell off the day before and it was floating in the sweet tea. Our total bill was over 200.00 not including tip. I didn't push the nail incident however was not offered any compensation for our meal. The food was not great quality and certainly the ice tea is not made fresh on a daily basis. Stay away. Went in for lunch after church hoping for the best but found the opposite. This is the first place I found that served calamari that looked identical to onion rings, same size and all. Not sure what the protein was under the breading but never seen calamari that size or shape. Wife and I both ordered the lunch special bang bang shrimp sandwich. Oh what a let down. Should have known something wasn't right when they came back and asked about if I wanted slaw on the sandwich as it normally comes only to told 15 minutes later they ran out of slaw. Patiently waiting.... oh before the food comes out do you want lettuce and tomato on the sandwich?.....sure, only to be told a few minutes later they are out of that too. Food finally comes to table and open up the sandwiches to find a whopping 5 calabash size shrimp on a roll that I couldn't even bite through , on not only my sandwich but my wife's also. Look over at the kids meal of shrimp and fries that my child had and was astounded by all the shrimp she received at half of the price of our lunch sandwiches. Sat there and got a chuckle out of the table that was seated behind us because it was every few minutes the waitress came out and told them of something they didn't have! Have you watched Ozark?, every time I leave there I feel like that. I am not saying that they are; but the food ain't that good!. I went twice and ordered two different things each time. Ok admission: my husband is from New Orleans and we visit and eat there often so don't tell me that what they have is a Po' boy sandwich. That is not how it looks or taste in NOLA!!! 1st time I order calamari. Well I should have bought some from Publix it would have been the same. 2nd time I order mozzarella sticks. Again, Publix is right there. I ordered garlic Parmesan chicken, huge fail. And failing on wings is horrible. For the seafood platter. Oysters, shrimp, and catfish (no curl it was sway). It was all so greasy. The chicken was greasy too. I did not complain. I mean it's a covid environment I'm just happy they didn't close down and the employees have a job. So I'm not a petty patty. And yes I tipped. Beyond the 20% again because of COVID. I'm not difficult, but I like good food and I would like food that taste like they say "New Orleans". Or fish or meat that isn't greasy. I love the staff though. Very nice. I paid my bill and tipped. This is really a honest review on 2 trips. Will I go back, maybe if I had to. I'd get the Arnold Palmer with extra ice and wait for whomever I went with to finish eating. Side note: why I went again after the first time. The first time I went I saw someone with crab legs and they ate them and then when it was about the last one, they start complaining. Pissed me off. I said well if you didn't notice that after 2 legs, you've accepted it. They refused to pay. So I wanted to keep supporting that business. I don't want to ever be in that category. I was livid. My husband had the bang bang shrimp sandwich, my son had the kids popcorn shrimp, and I had the crawfish. All in all it was good, the server was great, and we would definitely come back. We were invited In by what turned out to be our Waitress Nadine and assured us that although it was 40 minutes before closing we could order anything and not be rushed out she also said that the food was get. Well I had the Seafood Supreme which comes with Deep Fried Shrimp (21-25 or larger), Deep Fried Oysters & either Deep Fried Flounder or Deep Fried Catfish along wit 2 sides, I opted for the Flounder, French Fries and Corn on the Cob. I also subbed The Oysters with Extra Shrimp. The Food was cooked to perfection with the Lightest of Breading ( it was translucent). The Shrimp were tender and filled with flavor, The Flounder was perfect with a Sweet and almost Buttery Flavor and still very moist. The Fries reminded me Hand Cut Crinkle Fries again cooked to perfection. Prices were great, Service ( By Nadine ) was Second to None and the Food was Fantastic and will fill you up. On a Monday or Tuesday ( the night we visited) you may also want to check out their Draft Beer Selection and Prices. You'll have more than one to drink with anything from Simple Domestic, Impressive Imports and local Craft Beers at a price that will make you wonder why everyone else doesn't offer these great prices and selections along with the food. We arrived at 1800hrs. on January 2, 2020 a Thursday. The place had about five people in it at that time. Three at the bar and two at a booth. Very quiet except for the televisions with sports on them. Background music seemed to be mostly country. I forgot to check the sanitation rating. Lilly greeted us and seemed friendly enough. We weren't sure we wanted to eat there and studied the menu before we made our decision to stay. Lilly told us that if we decided to stay that we should sit at the far booth as it was set to be used and then left us to think about it. We stayed and I ordered the Swamp Bucket and my companion ordered Snow Crabs with boiled potatoes, corn on the cob, and she wanted butter with no garlic. Lilly gave us great service and was friendly. Before the food arrived we both left the table to use the restrooms to wash our hands. There are no paper towels in the rest room and they have those noisy hand blowers. I didn't use them. They do have paper towels at the table if you want to bring them with you when you go. I had to open the bathroom door with my wet bare hands just after washing them due to there being no paper towels and came back to the table with wet hands and dried them at the table with those paper towles. The food tasted okay, but I wouldn't go back. I'd rather eat at the seafood restaurant at the Farmers Market in Raleigh. My guest's butter came with garlic even though Lilly assured us it wouldn't. We were given flimsy plastic ware to use instead of hard metal which made it nearly impossible for my guest to eat her crab legs. I had to pull out my pocketknife and cut open her crab legs so she could eat them. We asked for one of those small forks to dig the meat out of the crab legs, and Lilly told us there were none to be had. Really? In a crab joint? She gave me one small thimble full of cocktail sauce and one small thimble full of tarter sauce. Not nearly enough. I later asked for more when I had easily used up the two small thimbles she had given me and she gladly gave me two more. I could have used one more thimble of tarter sauce but was embarrassed to ask for a third. At the Farmers market the cocktail sauce and tarter sauce are on the table and you can have all you want. Our bill came to $33.60 cents and I left a $5.00 tip. Honestly, I just would never go back there and I can't recommend this place to my friends. read more
