I ordered the veggie bowl and crab Rangoons. I forgot to take pictures! The bowl was a good size packed with rice, onions (majority), mushrooms. It was ok. Not the most flavorful dish. Crab Rangoons were on the large size and I considered them tasty. Not the best of the best, but definitely not an awful lunch. I ate almost 3/4, so I consider that a decent meal. 9/12/24 I placed an order for Hibachi Shrimp and Steak. I asked for mushrooms and was told they didnt have any. So I said ok. My husband then ordered Hibachi Chicken and Scallops. We got home to only discover that his food had mushrooms. So I called back and asked why I was told they didn't have mushrooms because clearly, they did. The person taking the call apologies and tells me the next time I come in he will give me a free side order of mushrooms. Like really! Who just eats mushrooms by itself! read more

I have lived in Ny 28 years of my life and came to NC looking for a tasty Japan spot. This is it!!!! you can pick anything off the menu and it will be good. My regular order is the hibachi chicken meal with extra yum yum sauce. I gotta pause and talk about this sauce cuz there is no other place that has a sauce that comes close to how good this sauce taste. I even tried to buy it at a Asian market and it did t taste the same. I've been to this spot over 30 times and my food is over the top good every time. They give you large portions to for a good price. I would drive over a hour just to get the food and yum yum sauce. I will try to remember to add a updated pic the next time I go! Yummy is the word! Love the Yummy Chicken. The rice is so good too, and I love the ginger sauce and yummy sauce.

Definitely not the best experience I've had eating Japanese. Honestly, this is the worst I've tasted. The steak was well done, I wasn't asked how I wanted it. The flavor was decent but definitely tough. The was meh at best and the white sauce was nearly inedible. The vegetables were way over cooked. Great Japanese food. Me and my hubby come here everytime we come to Smithfield. We can't leave without stopping by Yummi Japan. I'm a big fan of their bulgogi, not all places can cook that right but there's is awesome. Their Yum Yum sauce is great too, you can order it on the side but I usually put it on the rice. My 10-yr old stepson loved it too and loves to go. Great spot to go to when you're looking for some awesome Japanese food. read more

Placed order for pick up when I got there I asked to add two salads and was told to give them a few for the salad, that was fine. I get home and the salads are old and full of water. The get is that I waited 5 mins just for those salads thinking they were being made but I guess I was just waiting for someone to grab it from the back. read more

This was this restaurant's inaugural weekend, so maybe I'm being harsher than it would be if it had more time. Small storefront with a mix of sushi, traditional japanese, and hibachi. REALLY limited menu and some takes on American food done in a "Japanese" manner. The weirdest miso soup that I have ever had, tasted off and looked weird to boot. Do not eat here unless you enjoy eating insects. The place smells like dirty grease. There was a huge fly placed between the batter and the fried vegetable. The only reason I didn't eat it is because I was peeling the huge amount of batter off of the vegetable. When I went back to return the food they were closed. I will be back tomorrow. See pictures. Ordered take out. Way too much juice which spilled outside plate when transporting. Hispanic kid at the cashier needs an attitude problem check. You represent the restaurant. Unprofessional. Food is okay. Sushi food area doesn't look well ventilated and looked dirty. Will update in the future is my experience at this place changes. read more

Really the food tastes strange compared to other Hibachi food I've eaten. You pay extra for sauce (which is what makes the food in my opinion) and the white sauce tastes awful. I use to eat here years ago, and I don't know whether the quality went south or I've just realized how bad it actually was. read more

I go to yummy Japan almost every week and it my all time favorite fast food restaurant.

I love Yummy Japan. I've been coming here for years. Thankfully I've never had a bad experience. I always get the hibachi chicken and steak. I will admit I've had better elsewhere but it's not bad. I love this place. I could eat it everyday. I was raised in hawaii where there is a big japanese influence so this is the "kinda" fast food I'm used to. Their white sauce out as I'm used to calling it their "yummi" sauce is awesome on everything. Also their scallops are not the tiny sea scallops but a small/medium size bays. Their eel rolls are pretty tasty just wish that they could start serving inari. I also with they only charged extra for yummi sauce on take out orders not dine in. Not bad - I was looking for hibachi while in town on business. I came across this place, which was close to my hotel and seemed to have pretty good reviews. It was nothing to write home about. The place appeared clean and busy with dine in and take out orders. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi. The shrimp was alright, but the steak was dry. The vegetables were good, but made to look bigger by adding mostly mushrooms and onions. If I come back to Smithfield again, I probably will not order from Yummy Japan. read more

Came here multiple times. All were good except got food poisoning last night from yummi chicken.

Like the food, it is fast, convenient and good plus they will adjust the dish if I want. The downside and the reason I have not been back in a while is because the last two times I was there, they ran this horribly loud mixer the whole time to mix sauce or something in a large container near where they were cooking. To make matters worse, the second time, I watched as the mixer part was taken and put in the trunk of the employee-owner's car. Concern now is about the sanitation. read more

DO NOT EAT!! By far the dirtiest place around. All vents have gross dirt marks proof the filters may have never been changed. The trash can is covered in rust and the A/C wall unit is covered in dirt and oil. I have no idea how they have a 96% sanatation rating. Spent nearly $30 for the worst hibachi and sushi. The steak hibachi had zero seasoning along with the broccoli and zucchini mix. The rice was old, cold and had soy sauce. The sushi is not even worth reviewing.
