The two worst things were when the bill came and the restaurant tacked on an additional 3% for using a credit card. A lot of places are doing this so ok, but I paid with a debit card and merchants aren't allowed to up charge for that. They did anyway and I didn't really know the law until after we left. The second thing was the gratuity was already added. I don't mind that, especially since we were a party of five, but they calculated the tip based on the food cost AND tax and gave themselves a healthy 22% tip. Then, at the bottom of the receipt was a list of "Suggested Tip Amounts" where they calculated based on the food, tax, and the pre-added tip! Really?? I think a pre-added tip of maybe 18% is appropriate, but not 22%. The service wasn't that good. I let that slide because it was a birthday celebration and I didn't want to be that customer. The final kicker was when we were leaving. Apparently we weren't getting out of there fast enough and my daughter heard one of the wait staff say in Spanish she wanted us to hurry up and leave. Wow.
