Easily the best vegan veggie burger in the valley. The food and drinks are phenomenal and the staff is friendly and helpful. I was there a few weeks ago with my friend who has food allergies (and I'm vegan) so naturally we were a nightmare for the wait staff; however, our waitress handled us with grace and we were very pleased with our meals. Five stars for a small function we held there in mid July. About 25 of us were upstairs for drinks and small plates. Four drinks were featured and all were tasty and prepared with care. Small plates were down right delicious. Olive tapenade and hummus were right out of heaven. Anti-pasta meats and cheeses were super delicious. Service was top notch and overall, we had s great event. Great vibe right off the bat! Walked in early for our Saturday night reservation, but we were seated right away. Service was stellar! The hush puppy appetizer was very tasty. For dinner I had the BBQ brisket and my wife had the salmon BLT. Both were great! We tried several different drinks. All were excellent and none were watered down. You do get what you pay for!!! We stopped by this past Wednesday at 4:30 on our way to see a show at the Sands Event center. We were very impressed from beginning to end with everything! It is a very cool use of an old bank building, we took a peek inside the vault, maybe next time we'll request to sit there. Tommy was spot on as our server. I've been going to the Social Still since they've opened, and every visit has been stupendous. The handcrafted cocktails made from spirits distilled on site are always delicious and rotate seasonally. The herbalist and any drink made from their barrel aged spirits are winners. They greatly expanded their menu, so you can get anything from charcuterie to full dinners. Plus, they've recently started carrying local microbrews on draft! If you have the opportunity, take a tour of the old bank building and check out the production line and aging room. Great stop for lite food options (sandwiches, tapas, etc.), great atmosphere and an interesting selection of spirits, beer and wine. Owned by an average PA winery but they did a FANTASTIC job with the building and the spirits are coming along but it takes time. They do some interesting drinks with what they have and thanks to changes in PA liquor laws can also serve PA brewed beer. If you are on the Southside it's definitely worth a stop and could be nicely paired with either Bookstore or Molinaris (bar) for a double cocktail stop in a couple blocks of each other. read more

My fiancé (an active duty marine from the local area) and I are having our wedding in his hometown. We've flown across from California, but my guest at dinner this evening have flown in from Germany, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan. Despite a rigorous cleanse, tone and moisturise regime it would be pushing it to say my 34 year old self looked under 21 - and likewise my guest, all of whom are in their 30s and fabulous!! The table was booked through OpenTable weeks in advance and we were all dressed for a lovely dinner and a few cocktails. We are seated, no problem - but then we order drinks and we are asked to show our ID. We look at each other perplexed, but proceed to get out our wallets. We hand over Photograph Drivers Licences from Australia, Germany and the US. The US license for my NYC friend who currently lives in Germany and myself - fine. For the rest of us - not acceptable. I ask to see the Manager - Remember we are all professional females in our 30s with Photographic Government ID issued by extremely well known and respected countries. The Manager comes out in what can only be described as gym clothing and in no way attired for dealing with customers. His attitude was nothing short of disgusting. I explain that we are out for dinner the night before my wedding and that the girls have sensibly locked their passport in the safe in their hotel room. We are told in an extremely rude manner that our options are to produce original passports or leave. We left. The law provides such a restaurant with discretion if we look over the age of 30 - furthermore we were not asking them to take out word for it, we had Government ID!! Fortunately we were able to get 2 Ubers to the Sands Casino where we had a delightful meal at the Chop House (which for those not in the know - is within the gaming area of the Casino - where, wait for it - you must be over 21 years of age!) We were not ID checked walking into the Casino or at dinner. We were happy to give Chop House our business to the tune of $420 - may I suggest you all change your reservations too - or if you dare to risk it, be sure you only dine with fellow Americans. read more

Hands down the best restaurant in the Valley! Their cocktails are amazing, food is unique and delicious, service is always wonderful! Also the atmosphere is really fun! Love the old bank vibe! The differences between the gin and vodka are succinctly demonstrated in the Social Gimlet. The vodka variation had a clean taste, that though delicious, was not challenging to the palate. The gin variation on the other hand challenged one to identify the various layers of lime and infused gin, that make up this delicious signature drink. Herbalist was a refreshing combination of cucumber and rosemary. And the Raspberry Robbery was a pleasant and tasty end to the evening in lieu of a desert menu. Been here twice for drinks with friends. The atmosphere is great inside. Situated in a former bank, the high vaulted ceiling, two story windows and huge glass display of the distilling equipment define the space. Plenty of room on the main floor and second floor seating areas for groups, large and small. During my first visit, we were seated in the vault, which is an experience. Not being a fan of Vodka or Gin, I was pleasantly surprised by the drinks I chose (Raspberry Robbery and Crazy Mary). My wife had a drink with pepper infused vodka and much to my surprise, it tasted great. I sampled the vodka by itself, and while it wasn't the best I've had, I understand it's a work in progress. The menu is pretty limited, featuring some smaller appetizers, so don't come here with an empty stomach. I didn't eat anything, but friends said what they tried was good. I'm curious as to how long it will be before distillation of whiskey and rum, which are liquors I prefer. It's also interesting that another distillery is opening just down the road in the near future. It's great to see businesses like Social Still taking advantage of the redevelopment of South Bethlehem. read more

Came here on a whim (on route to my final destination) and had great service. Angelina made sure I had my favorite drink to New York standards and made it happen. Jake engaged in lovely conversation while I sat at the bar and enjoyed my drink, my garlic hummus with roasted peppers and balsamic vinegar. I've been to the social still before and always loved it, however, last night i took friends with us and we were all very disappointed. Let me say that the alcoholic drinks were exceptional. I had a dirty martini and it was done to perfection. The bad news is...the meal was not up to the usual standard and the manager kept trying to defend the chef's preparation of the food. My friend asked for the rock shrimp and since it said chili oil...she asked the waitress if it was very hot. the waitress said no...but she would make sure that only a touch would be used. When the dish came, it was hot spicy and my friend couldn't eat it. We called the waitress over and asked for it to be made again...which they did, however, by the time it arrived, we were all finished with our meal. The manager came up and said she would only charge half price for that meal. Usually, when something like that happens...particularly after my friend asked specifically that it not be made hot AND it arrived after the rest of us were finishing eating...the entire dish would have been taken off the bill. My husband and I had the salmon...and it was on a vegetable bed that was spicy. I did not remember the description saying anything about "spicy" and yet, when i mentioned it to the manager, who appeared with the new shrimp dish for my friend...she read from the menu..."Oh yes...it has pepper in it." I didn't want to take the menu from her to see for myself...but when i arrived home i pulled up the menu and the description says: Jail Island Salmon...Edamame, Local Cherry tomatoes, Roasted corn, Walnut Romesco. Romesco is usually made with a mild ancho chili...certainly not the hot spiciness that was in the salmon dish. I think a little asterisk should be on the menu if dishes served are going to be spicy so the customer knows what they are getting. We might try the restaurant again...but i was not happy that the meal served to my friend was not able to be consumed until they remade it...and the fact that the manager just kept trying to defend the chef rather than say..."So sorry...this one's on us" was disappointing. read more

This place was WONDERFUL! The only reason for the 4 stars was the acoustics. If you're sitting up top and have a loud group next to you that can be a little problematic to hear the person/people you're with. The food and service was fantastic! Had a slight misunderstanding with my entrée but that was quickly sorted out! The salad I ordered was tasty and it was the perfect size, not a ton of stuff on a plate that you wouldn't be able to finish, let alone would want to take home and have it go bad. My husband loved his salmon (and those scrumptious potatoes served with it) and the French onion soup I started with was delicious (though admittedly I am a cheese freak and would've loved more). For the slight mix up with my entrée they even offered us dessert, which was very appreciated, and WOW! Lemon and blueberry cake with a tasty and delicate icing. So good! Can't say enough about the staff! Great group of smiling people, and I was even surprised when the manager touched our table to get feed back, not many restaurants make this a point to do. Great food, great service, unfortunate acoustics. Came in for dinner at 7:30 and were promptly seated upstairs. The acoustics were immediately problematic due to a loud group nearby. Their loudness was somehow amplified by the building layout, so the only advice to the establishment there would be to look into some kind of sound absorptive tiles to help reduce the noise level. Wife ordered French onion soup which was served promptly. Tasted great. She wanted more cheese but she's got a thing for the stuff. For dinner, she ordered the Buffalo chicken salad and I got the blackened salmon. Wife's order was mistaken for the sandwich variant but immediately rectified. Both meals were fantastic; great flavors, perfect portions, appropriate pricing. Ordered house whiskey, was good but I'm not a fan of rye so I won't include that in my report. We fortunately made a reservation for 6:30 on Thursday because it was very busy when we arrived but kind of empty by the time we left at 7:45. When my husband made the reservation, he told them it was a special night out for us and they seated us at a private table for 2 inside the vault- very private and cute. I appreciated the effort on their part. I really enjoyed the calamari. The pretzel was huge and awesome!burbon in the cheese dip was very strong, my husband thought it was too much but I thought it was good. The tuna tacos were ok ( a little too much lemon but still good) and my husband loved the salmon blt. The wine list was limited. My husband enjoyed the voodoo cocktail- squid ink?! Overall it was a fun, interesting place with attentive, friendly staff. Portion size was perfect and very reasonably priced. Nothing knocked my socks off or I would've given it 5 stars but it's definitely worth a visit. read more

The Mrs indulged in a rum and bourbon flight and loved the Spiced Rum. So much so that we bought a bottle from the shop to enjoy at home. Specialty drinks were a tad pricey but well worth it. The social gimlet was infused with basil - unfortunately I didn't taste much basil and it had small pieces of basil that clogged the straw. Tab for two drinks was $24, seems steep but the drinks were worth it in flavor and alcohol content. The atmosphere was relaxing and the service was great. Lindsey was very inviting and friendly. I would recommend this place for a drink after work or on your way for a night out. I was surprised they close so early. One of the best places in the Lehigh Valley for a date night! The dinner and drinks are out of this world and the atmosphere is very open and relaxed. We had to sample a few drinks throughout the night, each was strong and delicious. Yes, a little pricey but you get what you pay for! My boyfriend got the burger, he claims it's the best burger he's ever had. I got the duck, which was cooked perfectly! On top of the great dinner and drinks the service was awesome! Our serve was outgoing and on top of her tables. We ended the night with a drink down at the bar and the bartender was friendly and told us about the different liquors they distilled right there. The BF and I stopped in here on Saturday night, after trying some of the Social Still whiskey at The Cask in Easton, we wanted to go to the distillery to buy a bottle of something good. We did eat dinner before we headed down, so we only sampled more whiskey, the BF found another favorite, and i had a mojito. Thank goodness we sat at the bar, there was a 40min wait without a reservation, even at 8:15 at night. He ordered a whiskey flyte, which came with 4 samples for only $10. After enjoying our drinks, we checked out the little store by the entrance. We were kinda bummed to find out that the whiskey we wanted was sold out, but still walked out with a bottle of their Barista Whiskey. We are definitely going to come back and try some grub with some friends. This place makes for a good, casual weekend night. FYI: they do have a parking lot across the street from the distillery, however it's on a one way street, so you have to go around the block to park. read more
