Service was too notch. The BR has a great tangible energy. The cocktail program is aces! The food offerings are wonderful. There is a reason everyone at the bar is having fun. The bartenders are engaged and very attentive. This is a wonderful spot for small plates and cocktails.

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Trexlertown! I started with the mushroom risotto and it was incredible. Moist, heavy creamy risotto with fresh wild mushrooms and parmesan cheese. Add some protein and this could be a full meal! I then ordered a house sandwich. Portobello mushroom, roasted red pepper, a pesto aioli on a crusty ciabatta bread. It's crusty, flavorful, and perfect if you are looking for something lighter on a hot day! The dish came with chips, or you could do a salad or potato. The chips were seasoned and while I never figured out what they were, they added the perfect flavor to a sandwich. Everything in the restaurant was aesthetically perfect - all the way down to the drinks themselves. The waitress was attentive without overbearing and made sure we had what we wanted without the constant interruptions. If you're a fan of Shelby, this is a great alternative, with a bit more down to earth options without sacrificing the flavors!

Great service and cool vibes with the music and decor. Bathroom was oddly cool too. Next time we'll have to save room for dessert!

We went for the second time and it continues to be very good. They make some interesting drinks and have many menu items that are very good. We had mushroom risotto with shrimp added, fried zucchini ( a bit overdone) and a mushroom pizza. In fact we took another pizza home - so good. The servers are very nice and we loved the decor and the music. Fantastic! We'll be back.

Date night on a Tuesday night. Also, it was a 'Dine and Donate' night. Tonight, 10% of your meal…read moregoes toward supporting The Reading Public Library. Very admirable and apparently they do this often to support other causes, as well. We were happy to dine at a restaurant that cares about the local community. That's what got me (& my wife) in the door. Now, for the brass tacks: Atmosphere: Very nice looking place. Clean. Lively. Loved the front window open on a warm day and the outdoor seating as we walked in. Service: Hostess and Server were both very friendly, attentive and helpful. Both checked in on us, often. Which, for us, is super important not to feel forgotten. No problem here. Food: Uncorkd Burger (sub grilled chicken), Vegetable Risotto w/Salmon, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Homemade Vanilla Bread Pudding Cake & Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. My wife said, convincingly, that the Grilled Chicken Burger was good. (and that's saying something. (She's super picky about chicken sandwiches) My Vegetable Salmon Risotto was terrific. Fresh, bright, creamy, & flavorful. The salmon may have been cooked slightly over, but only slightly. Cheesesteak Egg Rolls were very good. Not made in-house. The desserts were delicious. Bread pudding with Caramel Drizzle! Oh my! Light & Delicious. Stick Toffee Pudding Cake with a decadent dark chocolate sauce. Delightful. We took those desserts to go and had them at home. Delicious. Terrific experience, tonight. I would go back in a heartbeat. Certainly would recommend. 4.2

Quality was on point and the prices were really reasonable. Staff was working hard, but still really friendly and efficient. Definitely a must try! Check out the cheese curds with honey, tarragon, and macadamia nuts for a crunchy and unique dish. They paired beautifully with the house made pickles.

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.
