Great wine and the meat and cheese plate is a great size, it's worth a visit to buy a bottle and hangout and enjoy the atmosphere. Be prepared for it to be extremely loud on the weekends when they have live music- you'll have to yell at whoever is next to you to be heard. The Pino Gris was very good. The music was nice for listening. I had an issue when they wanted to add a 3% surcharge when using a debit card. Surcharging a debit card is illegal. I decided to pay cash. Then I went to my car and brought in the notice about it being illegal to surcharge. The gal at the counter went and got a supervisor. She kooked at the notoce and offered to refund my 3%. I said I paid with cash instead. She said "ok then what is the issue?" The issue people who aren't aware of this are paying to the Winery illegally. This could potentially be a significant amount of money that is being obtained illegally. read more

Very family friendly. Great location and atmosphere. Friendly staff. The boards are tasty, as is the Buffalo Chicken Dip. The kids wolfed down a couple of hotdogs each, and there are good truck options as well. The wines range are generally , with the No. 41 and Chambourcin my favorite and the Traminette serving as my wife's favorite. All the samples are good sized. 12/21/2019- Six tastings of their award winning wine for only $5. I'm in! I tried the Traminette 2016, Vynecrest White, Spiced Winter White, Pinot Noir Rose, Chambourcin 2017 and the Vynecrest Red. My favorites were the Vynecrest White a semi-sweet wine with an apricot and green apples aroma AND the Spiced Winter Wine. This wine really captured the holidays in a bottle. It has aromas of cinnamon and vanilla. This wine was served warm. I've never had a warm wine. It was wonderful. We ended up buying and shipping 4 bottles home. They were extremely helpful with it. There was a downstairs part and we totally missed it. We saw it as we were driving out. Until next time....we will be back! read more

We stumbled upon Vynecrest on a Sunday drive and I'm so happy we stopped by. The staff were very friendly, we did some wine tasting, and then joined everyone downstairs with our wine slushees... I put a mix of both cause they are both so good! The musicians were a nice add on to the atmosphere. We've since come a few times for those delicious slushies, yessss! You can also purchase cheese and snacks. Having a different food truck each Sunday is great, . I love all the work you are putting into this full on "winery experience." Four of us came out to the Vynecrest Winery which was about an hour out of our way. After today even though it was 100% cloudy, it was worth the trip and highly recommend it. You have to call to make reservations before you decide to come here at least during this covid time. We had a time slot from 12:30-2:00pm and we stayed til about 2:30pm because we lost track of time, no one really came up to us to say you have to leave. We even brought a puppy ! Anyway, when you get there you have to check in at the red tent by the 'red barn.' You can go into the red barn for your drinks and charcuterie dishes or the dishes listed on their paper menu. There is also some catering called Roasted that is there with hot food like hot dogs if you want that. They were stationed next to the live music which were two guys playing guitars and singing. Overall I liked the atmosphere and it wasn't loud it was nice. We ordered 2 charcuterie plates with salami, cheddar cheese, smoked Gouda cheese, bacon ranch cheese, crackers, pumpkin seeds, raisins, honey mustard and horse-radish whipped cheese. All of it was delicious to have with the wine. We all ordered wine flights (we didn't get to try the slushees but next time!) and I highly recommend trying: Autumn Gold (I bought a bottle of this before I left), Vynecrest Red and trying the Blueberry wine which is very sweet but smooth. All of the wines I suggested are smooth and not dry. Also, if you like Reisling I can definitely say it tasted better than other Reislings I've had, but maybe that's just me. Once you get your drinks and food inside (or outside if you want to get the hot food) there's a bunch of seating everywhere and you can pick any table to sit at. If you are looking to go to a vineyard and have some wine & snacks I suggest this place. Super friendly staff and atmosphere. Wine flights were about $12 each. read more

I'm a winery fanatic, let me start with that. When I form opinions on wineries I consider the actual wine but also the environment and ambience. Vynecrest's wine is pretty good for a local PA wine and definitely affordable. The winery location itself is fairly large. Lots of vineyards and indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors, the first floor has a bar tasting area and then a storefront with wine-related and home goods items. Down in the basement is another tasting bar and also a service bar where you can order wine and cocktails by the glass along with food items. I got a cheese plate. While I did get a TON of cheese for the price, the cheese was pretty basic, like, run of the mill grocery store fridge cheese. None the less my experience was very nice and I would come back. I got a few glasses of wine and also a sangria wine slushy which was yummy. read more

Great atomosphere for a cold day outside. My four friends and I had lots of fun wine tasting for only $5. Our host was very kind, and charred with us about our days and wine of course. She made lots of good recommendations during the tasting. Most of the wine was pretty good, not amazing, but we were happy with our experience. The store on the main floor is nice with lots of affordable bottles of wine. Downstairs afterwards, we all shared some snacks and had more drinks. We loved the cheese plate which was just your basic cheeses, but they gave us very large portions to share. Visited on a Sunday. Gorgeous grounds! I am sure covid has changed things because they don't have typical tasting I am used to when going to a winery. They had the option of four samples = 2 glasses of wine. We tried that. I didn't like that they don't give you a paper of all the wines so you can remember the details. They labeled each cup with a abbreviations when pouring. At the end we brought a cup in that we wanted to buy a bottle of and we showed the women behind the bar and she said the cup confused her but we didn't know the names of the wines since they don't give you a list. We ordered the cheese board and it was really tasty and a great value! They had a lot of nice options for food as well. The tent had fires and propane heaters going and live music! Reservations are required to get a spot under the tent and they give you a length of time you can max stay for! I can imagine this place is gorgeous on a nice summer day! read more

So unfortunately I will not be back here. First, it's a winery so let's talk about their wine. Their wine is good - I enjoyed my tasting and bought a few bottles. HOWEVER, the customer service makes me not want to come back. We had a group of 10, and understandably so they have rules for groups of 8 or more. We did not know that. We were confronted at the door and told we can pay with one card at the register. We were very rudely told it's $10/person and to go downstairs. It's important to note, the place was empty. There was no one at the tasting bar and 2 couples downstairs. Instead of kindly telling us what was included in the $10/person we were instructed what to do. Our group was split (6 wanted a tasting and 4 wanted to split a bottle) we were told numerous times we should have called ahead and need to call ahead to the other wineries we were going to. It's only $5/person for a regular tasting, and they wanted to charge $10/person!! I completely acknowledge that there are rules for a reason, but why chase away business and be rude!? I will not be coming back to support this winery. read more

Obviously I'm going to end up buying some wine, but at most other wineries that I've been to a tasting will run you around 10 bucks. All of the wine that we sampled was delicious, and there were lots of interesting options such as pinot noir rose and a spiced and heated winter wine. If you want to sit and hang out with a glass or a bottle you can venture downstairs to a basement style pub which has got a small tapas menu. There is also live jazz music sometimes as well, but unfortunately we missed it on the day that we visited. We loved the spiced wine so much that we ended up buying a three pack, which was on sale for a reasonable price of 25 dollars. I have been to several wineries and/or wine tastings in my life. Some good, others not so good. Vynecrest easily falls into my top 5 of "oh em gee you must go here and drink wine!". We came here while celebrating a birthday and were immediately impressed and amazed by the rows and rows of grapes. The tasting room is within a red barn that is both spacious and welcoming, They were able to accommodate our rather larger group (8 people) and quickly gave us their list of wines. From that list, we were each allowed to choose 6 to try. My two favorites ended up being a sangria-like blend, as well as an Autumn white (the first sip when it hits your tongue is mind-blowing). The only one I disliked was the pinot noir (which is strange since that's typically my favorite type of grape). The staff here is friendly and the prices are on point ($22 for 2 bottles!). I wish they had explained each wine a bit more, however, the sheets we were given did provide a brief description of each. I also knocked off a star simply because a tour was not offered but it was towards the end of the day so that may have had something to do with it. Overall, a solid winery to visit. I'll definitely be buying more bottles! read more

Well... as many have noted and reviewed about this winery, the wine is decent but... the service at the bar below was disgraceful and warrants me never taking or recommending guests here ever again. We purchased two bottles of wine upstairs and went downstairs to drink a bottle. Decided to go outside and sit at the tables. Placed the bottle on the ground. We ended up purchasing two more bottles and a variety of food. When we decided to go inside to drink, the wine fell straight through the paper bag. The ground must have been a little damp. I went in and spoke to a thin tall lady and asked if she could do anything and immediately she was angry and asked where it was broken. She said she will be out. She came out with a massive attitude which in turn made everyone at the table upset. There were people at tables on both sides of us that saw the bottle break and also witnessed how rude this girl was. They all shook their heads and told us how rude and wrong that girl was and said how ridiculous it was for this girl not to replace the bottle. When we went in to finish our last bottle of wine, the girl came back and gave us a new bottle of wine. Great right? Wrong.... she spoke to us as if we were children. Told us to be nice next time something like this happens and all I had asked in the beginning when I walked up to her was if there was anything they could do. She then continued to try to school us on how other wineries operated and how "thankful" we should be that they were replacing the bottle of wine. We went to other wineries afterwards. And please take note Vynecrest.... they placed the bottles of wine in a brown bag, then placed the brown bags of wines in a plastic bag. Also, I'm pretty certain most wineries would have ZERO problems replacing a $16 bottle of wine. Especially customers that just purchased four bottles of wine and and a variety of overpriced food. Maybe next time you should diffuse a situation by not acting like an A-hole to a customer and being polite. It goes a long way and you wouldn't be getting reviews like this one. I strongly do not recommend this winery. Go to another winery with better service skills, there are better wineries all over this area. read more

Just like everyone else on the list, I too highly enjoyed my trip to Vynecrest. It just feels like a winery should feel! Old world charm, attentive staff, a beautiful setting and an ample assortment of wines. My wife and I took a trip along the Wine Trail and we were definitely impressed with the casual feel and laid-back attitude. I have a feeling that this place could be a pain during busy times, as all the noise and conversation seems amplified in here, but we were there during a relatively quiet time, except for a small bachelorette gathering. My only caveat, we loved the atmosphere, but we loved the wine at Clover Hill more. read more

This my first time here at Vynecrest with my Mom and Sister for my moms birthday weekend. We stayed at Bear Creek mountain resort which was only 10 min. away so we decided to try Vynecrest out. We loved it. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. When we first came in we did the wine tasting of 6 different wines which is free of charge and most place charge a fee for tasting so that was nice. After wine tasting we went downstairs and had the delicious wine slushies, (pink raspberry lemonade)they were sooooo good. We also got the sharing plates which were the spinach dip, peach salsa, and dipping bread they all were great. We talked for awhile and enjoyed the beautiful day and scenery outside at the eating area they have under a covered area. Also you were able to sit inside where there was a piano player playing music. When we were finished we went back upstairs to purchase bottles of wine which are very reasonable and also peach salsa because we loved it so much. My husband and I have been fans of Vynecrest for many years, their wines are award-winning for good reason. Yesterday seven girlfriends and I enjoyed a private wine tasting ($5/each), in the downstairs barrel room. Dana was so helpful and gracious telling us about the wine flights (six varietals in either a sweet or dry line) and well as the progression of the winery. She shared two slushy samples and the Vidal Blanc sparkling wine. After our one-hour private tasting we sat in the Vyneskeller for another hour or two. With wines by the glass at only $5 each and plenty of very affordable tapas to sample, our tables were filled with lots to enjoy! We weren't able to enjoy the outdoor seating due to rain - another time. Vynecrest is a lovely winery, plenty of wines to appeal to those who like dry or sweet. In particular the Naked Chardonnay, Lemberger, No. 38 and even the Pinot Noir Rose are my current favorites. In the summer on a super hot day, the Vignoles and Autumn Gold varietal are perfect for sipping in the sunshine. The sparkling, a Vidal Blanc, is great too (on the sweeter side). As I understand the barrel room (where the private wine tastings are held) is available Sundays for private events. Go to Vynecrest Winery and enjoy! read more

They have good wines here, but our second visit was competely tainted by an employee who largely ignored us, and others, at the tasting counter because she was more interested in chatting with her frienda than helping the customers. Another employee eventually came to help us and was wonderful, while the first employee kept ignoring us and everyone else aside from her friends. I didn't expect my first winery to be in PA. Peej and I came here over the weekend and had a fun and cool experience. There is a free 6 wine tasting to sample what they have to offer. Afterwards, we went downstairs to get some snacks, a glass of wine, and to enjoy the live jazz music they have on the weekends. The guy was playing holiday music so it was a festive and cozy afternoon spent. We ended up getting their dry Pinot Grigio and a red wine. We'll be back if we're ever in the area again. read more

Ok so I visited here yesterday on the way back from dropping my son off at a nearby university. So I love this winery! The people are very friendly! When you go in there is a large tasting bar upstairs where you get to try 6 yes 6 different wines for free. Nice!!!! After trying a few I ended up buying 4 of their wines. After purchasing my wine and taking it back to my car, I decided to sit on their lower bar level which has an outdoor patio. I ordered the wine slushee (it was AMAZING! No really Amazing!) and the cheese plate which included a generous assortment of 3 cheeses, grapes and crackers. In all it's a very laid back environment here where you can sit back and relax and enjoy their great wines. The only reason I didn't give this winery 5 stars is because I wanted something a little more substantial to eat with my wine! All in all a great place to go with good wine. read more

Vynecrest is a great winery especially with the edition of the cellar downstairs. I've been here several times throughout the years and they seem to be getting better and better! My favorite wine there by far is the cherry Devine it is amazing especially with the Wilbur buds! This time I was also impressed by their late harvest wine and the summer red. We actually got 2 bottles of the summer red at their wine cellar and sat and enjoyed them! It was so nice to sit down at a winery and have more than just a tasting. They also had a few snacks you could order off their menu, but we had just eaten. They also had a singer songwriter playing. I cannot wait to go here again! The staff was also very friendly. We headed out on the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail last weekend - the weather was so perfect and I was getting a bit stir crazy in the house. This was our favorite of the day as far as service - they didn't seem really snooty & the whole feel was casual & welcoming. It was the first weekend of the March Passport season - so there were a lot of larger groups coming in. I really enjoyed the Cherry Divyne with chocolate, and their signature white. The rest was just okay. But I don't have to love every bottle to not enjoy a winery. :) I'm hoping to head out that way in the summer to get a chance to browse the vineyard itself (they do tours when the weather is nice) and maybe stop in the Vyneskellar for a glass of wine & a snack. read more

My second experience at PA vineyards! The wines here were good. There was a wine list of 18 wines and you were allowed to taste 6. They were a little more willing to allow you to sample others and do second tastings of wines you thought you liked. The tasting room is very nice. It's a fairly big space and they have a bar/cafe of some sort downstairs. The whites were definitely far better than the reds here, but again, the reds weren't all terrible by any stretch of the imagination. The red that stood out to me the most was the Vyneskeller Select. It had a nice deep flavor that I really was liking. As for the whites, we liked the Dry Riesling, Traminette, Niagara and the Vignoles. On a whim as we were wrapping up our selections we tried the First Blush, since there was a deal for buying six bottles and we had five... and it was on sale that day. It was a really good blush. There was a hint of strawberry and it had a Zin like quality (yes Zin like, not Zen like... no typo here buddy). It was one of the better blush wines I've had. The staff was very friendly and conversational here which I really liked as well. Overall it was a very good experience. read more

I have ventured to Vynecrest many times and have had a wonderful experience almost every time. The tasting is free the vineyard is well kept and the bar downstairs has wine, beer, and often live music on the Grand Piano. I travel for wine and at Vynecrest the wines are friendly to all. I would recommend if you are interested in stopping by knowing that this is a PA winery and has a wide variety of sweets. However they do a few exceptionally well drys, the No. 39 Harvest being one of them. read more
