A "food court" but it's three stores in one, they aren't separated but rather you can order from all three with one order on their tablet (to-go) or online (dine-in). There's Rice Monster, Noodleosophy, and Grapeholic, all three names are pretty self explanatory. Rice bowls, noodles, and grape drinks (with boba offerings). Location is extremely convenient, right off of the Millbrae station. There's a 15% service charge for dining in but they do have a disclaimer to not tip as a result (though it's not very obvious). They do have a tip jar though so tipping is still welcome. Takeout portion is embarrassing though. Sat down for like 25 minutes waiting for our drinks on another visit because I recommended the spot to my brother and saw the bowls which looked great and smelled authentic. They really include the default dine in service fee as part of the bowl price so takeout eaters get jipped. I got Beef Stew noodles from Noodleosophy and the Pure Grape drink from Grapeholic on my first visit. Have returned multiple times for Grapeholic alone to try other drinks. Dry Beef Stew with Biang Biang Noodles - for starters, the beef is delicious. Tender and flavorful. Noodles were excellent as well, but in my situation my order was probably ready for a while so the noodles got clumped together at the bottom. Would've had a better experience if they were separated, either dine in or more fresh. Soup might've helped too so would have to try that over the dry. If you want dry noodles, I recommend dining in or eating ASAP. Biggest complain is that the portion is fairly small for the price. Pure Grape - Boba is a denser chewy with almost a hint of sweetness but somewhat on the tasteless side. i wouldn't order the boba again but had to try it. Crystal boba is standard and good. They also put peeled grapes! I was so confused by the texture but wow I really enjoyed the grapes, sweet too. Must've been marinated in sugar after peeling. Their crema is delicious - thick and salty sweet. one of my favorite cremas I've had but maybe the grape drink helped because it became a refreshing flavorful contrast. [Review of location and Grapeholic drink only...for now!] A cool addition to Millbrae if you are in the mood for Asian food/boba but no-one in your friend group can decide on what they want. They have 3 casual restaurants in one place--Noodleosophy, Grapeholic (boba), Rice Monster (clay pot rice). Specifically, I came for Grapeholic because they had some intriguing drinks (e.g. Toffee-infused Tea, Milk Tea with Mochi & Boba, Mango Pomelo Sago, a large assortment of grape and fruit teas) Location: Next to the large Chase bank off El Camino Real in Millbrae. They have their own parking lot you can enter from the back closer to the CalTrain tracks. It fits a decent amount of cars, but you may have to circle around for someone to leave on a peak hour (e.g. weekend lunch). When you walk in, someone will help seat you. Order via QR code and someone brings you your food. But if you are there only to try the Grapeholic for boba like me, you can go straight up to the touch screen monitor to order. Then awkwardly wait for your order. I ended up trying the Mochi & Boba Milk tea ($6.25, 50% sugar; drinks on the large side!). Thought that the drink itself wasn't too strong on tea, but you could taste the milk. Boba was on point. Mochi was sweet and creamy--it adds an extra textural component. Word of warning though that the mochi might not be everyone's cup of tea texturally (soft, chewy, slightly chunky but drinkable through the boba straw). Worth a try to find out! Overall enjoyed my drink. One thing they could improve on is having a designated waiting area for people waiting for to-go orders so they don't get confused with waiting to be seated. A hidden gem that shouldn't be a hidden gem?? My office is a block away and almost no one was aware of this place. We walk by it frequently, and from the outside it looks almost abandoned. A few people also recalled that it used to be a fancy sushi place, but none of them could recall when it reopened as a food court. Once you walk inside the place feels transformed. The inside is spacious, clean and well decorated. There are 3 different Asian food court place inside: Noodleosophy, Rice Monster, and Grapeholic (boba). Noodleosophy is a handmade noodle place that is guaranteed authentic. I was specifically looking for Xian noodles and this place hit the spot. I've tried the garlic noodles with pork and the meat sauce noodles- both delicious! I highly recommend the biang biang noodles. The food comes out QUICK. Rice Monster is a rice bowl place that gives you a heaping amount of fresh meat. The only thing is that it takes a bit longer to make than the rest of the food. The first time I ate in at social eatery I ordered noodles and my coworker got a pork rice bowl, and her food came out a solid 15-20 minutes after mine. We kept thinking they forgot about her food. Not as great if you're in a rush to get back to the office, but still a delicious meal. Grapeholic is a boba place with classic milk tea, fruity drinks, and some unique (avocado) drinks as well. You can seat yourself and order using a QR code, or order takeout at the counter. Two of us came on Sunday, just after opening at 11, and had no wait for a table outside. By the time we left, the parking lot was maybe 2/3 full. We enjoyed our noodles and milk teas. Those reviews are on the listings for Noodleosophy and Grapeholic. Such a cute place to eat at, with a variety of choices in a food hall vibe. I love the concept of ordering from different "stalls", yet altogether through the QR code, which makes it convenient. The cumin lamb with biang biang noodle from Noodleosophy is on the salty side, but it has a great depth of flavor and it's the closest to Xi'an noodle in NY. The broccoli is quite unusual though. The lap mei pot rice from Rice Monster was average. The toppings were delicious, but the rice was mushy. The highlight was the drinks because Grapeholic is so good. My go-to is the Pure Grape which is a green tea slushy with salted cheese, boba, crystal boba and real grapes. The flavor is so refreshing and the salted cheese balances the sweetness and makes it creamy. A 15% service charge is included during the payment so don't worry about calculating tips. Great hidden gem! Located off the main road but can be easily missed, it's self seating with QR codes on every table for easy order and payment. Ambience was nice and had a cool theme to it. They have a load of items to choose from but I got the Bo Zai Fan Lap Mei 经典腊味 clay pot rice with an added Spiced Egg 卤蛋. Don't get me wrong the flat fresh noodles are still good just doesn't fit the dish as well. Popcorn chicken has a little kick to it. Nice crunch. Just tiny bit dry. But over all still good. While casual, I wouldn't call this fast food by any means - took us 15-20 min to receive our food dining in. No one ordered from Grapeholic so can't speak to their items/service. Noodleosophy here is as good as its San Mateo location. Large portions, toothsome noodles - I had the chicken curry which featured a freshly fried chicken cutlet that was crisp and juicy. Dad had the beef noodles (soup) and was very happy with it. Rice monster features claypot rice dishes (bao zai fan), complete with the crispy rice at the bottom - sister had the chicken and mushroom which had a little more white pepper flavor than she was expecting, but still enjoyed. Social Eatery is a building that houses a few different eateries: Grapeholic, Rice Monster, and Noodleosophy. It was a little difficult to get to the storefront so follow your GPS. You can see the building off of El Camino, but there isn't a turnoff so you'll need to drive around the back way. It was SUPER busy at 1:45pm on a Sunday, and it was about a 20 minute wait for my order from Grapeholic. You can order ahead for any of the three places using a third party food delivery platform if you don't mind paying a surcharge. They don't take phone orders, and the other option is to place an order in person using their kiosk at the location. However, they only have ONE kiosk available, and I hope they look into adding additional kiosks and/or allowing direct online orders to be placed. Both the items I tried from Grapeholic and Rice Monster were great, and I would return to both! I've had Noodleosophy previously, and they have really good handmade noodles. It's easy to see why the Social Eatery building was so busy over the weekend. There was a lot of indoor seating available (not really socially distanced except for one table in the corner), and there was one table outside. All staff were wearing masks, despite the mandate being lifted, and they had hand sanitizer. They had their own parking lot but it was pretty packed when I got there.
